ME: Oh, I will be working on the topic, Public spending on poverty reduction in Nigeria, I will focus on health and education sector in order to determine if there is a link on whether increase in government expenditure on health and education would reduce poverty in the country. PS: I didn’t say this smoothly at all

VO: It’s okay, smiling at me like this guy na novice 😂😂😂😂

Oga you can’t tell me economic principle work in other countries and they should work here ,FYI we have technical and fundamental analysis, was a forex trader some years back ,so I know alot about fundamentals those indices and indicators of advance economies ,Nigeria don’t have ,we have distorted data we don’t wait for our fed reserve chair to say something that would boost our currency unlike the USA , another POV ,after the 2008 financial melt down the president bailed out most banks in the USA is that also in your so called economics book that banks would fail and be bailed out ,please be practical and reasonable with your argument.

Do you live in Nigeria? Stop using intellectual argument or economist POV , we are talking about Nigeria here and the mindset of an average NIgerian , adding or salary increment would lead to increase in prices ask anyone on ground ,I can tell you how we think,I know how farmers have significantly increase the price of farm produce from 15k to 50k per bag of red coco yam and 35k for white which was sold for about 10k, what about tomatoes and many more ,once they increase this salary just watch what would happen ,it’s my prediction that this increase would also see a spike in prices of goods and services, when I asked the market women why the increase in prices they started making excuses that the farmers said their kids in school now pay more and some flimsy story i did not want to listen to cause I know it fueled by greed nothing more .

The major cause of this nonsense is floating the naira and removing subsidy, Abuse buhari all you want, I was never a fan but he had more viable economic team than this nincompoop advising Tinubu today, reason we didn't have it this bad in his tenure. these things are in check and provisions are made for transportation to be fair to enable farmers bring their things easily from rural to urban market for sale, there is no way price of things will be high, the forces of invisible hands would generally makes things cheap.

BATeria on the beat. Don't twist the narratives. Lagos Indigenes in Lagos hv spoken they don't want to be part of South West if Regional System Returns. It has always been Lagos Colony! They're the real stakeholders, who wear the shoes & know where they pinch! These ones in "Ovesee" are Chicago Boys, we know!

On who used "Lagos is no man's land". It was Lateef Jakande who was, consequently, overwhelmingly voted when he was seeking elections...

Deoye Falade :

The first recorded statement referring to Lagos State as 'No-man's-land' was made by a Yoruba man in 1979. That man is the much loved Lateef Jakande, former governor of Lagos State during his inaugural address to the people of Lagos on October 1, 1979.

You don't have to believe me though, Google is your friend but I'll share the direct quote below:

"In 1886, Lagos was again set up as a separate colony in response to a petition by the people of Lagos who resented being governed from the Gold Coast. It was administered by a Governor of the Colony of Lagos under Letters Patent dated 13th January 1886. This was the first time that the territory now known as Lagos State came under one administration. The administration continued under various constitutions until 1954 when Lagos was separated from the rest of the Colony and constituted a Federal Territory, that is to say, a No-Man’s Land.

"God moves in a mysterious way, says William Cowper, His wonders to perform. His purposes will ripen fast, unfolding every hour.
...
We learned nothing from the Civil War and this is on both the people and the government. For one, our government refuses to admit that it was not just a war but a genocide and by that refusal, glosses over a huge problem that will continue to plague us. Rwanda experienced their civil war in the 90s - two decades after ours but they learned. 'Never again' is a key phrase when it comes to both the Rwandan genocide and WWII. But here we are in Nigeria, learning nothing and making the same mistakes from 50 years ago.

Isn't it curious that this ethnic divisionary tactic only seems to rear its head every election cycle? The actors may be different but the playbook is the same. In 2023, it's MC Oluomo, Bayo Onanuga and co. In 2019, it was still MC Oluomo. In 2015, it was the Oba of Lagos and his Lagoon vibes. I'm sure that in 2027, it will be someone else but the same playbook will be used regardless of who the opposition candidate is. Doesn't matter if it's Jimi Agbaje, Musilu Obanikoro or Gbadebo Chinedu, it always creeps in.

Maybe we can't do better in general because we don't know better but that shouldn't be an excuse because the resources to know better are out there, we're just too lazy to think, not to talk of do. And it's even more grati

***

Fun Fact: Jakande won by getting 559,070 votes to become the first Executive Governor of Lagos State in 1979.

In 2019, Babajide Sanwo-Olu won with 739,445 votes and in 2023, he won with 736,000 votes.

For all of Lagos' population explosion over a space of almost 50 years, very little has changed. I think that's pretty interesting.

Owerri zone stripped Orlu zone bare of any government tertiary education institutions and establishments during the military era. All the 6 federal and state universities in Imo state are located in Owerri zone.

Presence of these govt institutions and parastatals in Owerri zone has made nearly every once rural community in Owerri zone now become sn urban sprawl with modern infrastures.

Orlu was denied everything.
In 1976 when Imo state was created first, there were little differences in the levels of urban deevelopment between Owerri and Orlu. Now what do you have in Orlu?

When East Central State was divided into Anambra and Imo States, Ndi Anambra knew that Imo state contained all the oil wells of then ECS. But Ndi Anambra never resisted Imo state to be separate from Anambra state.

Of course, no one is going to offer #105k as minimum. The FG can't even afford that talk more of the state governments.

The story was either planted by government or the NLC to measure people's reaction or setup the FG.

Anyways, whatever the new minimum wage is going to be, the FG should open the border with Benin Republic immediately after approval so we can import food to counterbalance the impeding inflation surge.

I doubt we will get out of this wood this year. Any chance of improvement to the economy will happen in 2025 latest.

You guys talk about insecurity as if it is an isolated problem. Insecurity is a symptom of economic hardship. The whole problem is due to lack of economic opportunities. Economic opportunities creates well-being, which brings peace and security, enhances quality of life, and breeds happiness and contentment.
But you guys think Government can figh symptoms of bad government, instead of focusing on job creation, increasing industrial activities, boosting food production, and improving social services. If you only treat symptoms, the disease will kill you. As a nation, Nigeria is almost dead.

Romance / 16 To Make A Man Admire You, Chase You, Fall In Love With You And Marry You! by LoveUdie: 12:12am On Jun 07
If you don't want to grow white hairs before you get married, here are the things you need to do to attract your man and get married on time:

1. SMILE: Men love smiling women. No, not the one that begins and ends with the mouth, the one that starts from the eyes. Genuine, loving smile attracts people, creates friendship and unlock doors! Learn to smile at people baby, women who lack men's attention rarely smile. They are always cold and look as if they are carrying the problem of the whole world on their head! Some of these ladies even frown a lot! Look, everybody has a problem, no man wants to add another person's problem to his own. Be a genuinely happy person and show it by smiling at people. Men will find you irresistible and seek to know you more.

2. BE HUMBLE: Humble women don't lack suitors! One way to stay single for a long long time is to be proud and cocky! Proud women are a big turn off! If you always roll your eyes at people, segregate yourself from the company of common people, talk down on anybody and you are practically rude because of your class, money, car, social status, job, etc, you will stay single forever! Be humble! Learn to accommodate all class for people. Learn to serve others. Learn to use "sir" when talking to men. Some men may tell you it doesn't matter but secretly, they love it. Men love it when women address them with respect. Learn to be respectful and submissive to authorities.

3. BE CONFIDENT: Confident women are attractive any day any time. Knowing who you are, pursuing your dreams, vision, passion and goals makes you a confident person worth investing in. When you know your reason for being here on earth is far more than getting married, punch out few kids and stay locked in the kitchen forever, you approach life with a positive mind set, you are energetic and confident in who you are, you have a good, sound self esteem and men are irresistibly drawn to you.

4. BE FRIENDLY: Ladies who keep to themselves hoping some Prince Charming will find them are not ready for marriage. Be friendly! Being friendly is different from being desperate and cheap. Go out. Attend positive programmes, conferences, seminars, workshops, symposiums and serve in your local church. Enjoy meeting people and getting to know them purely for friendship not for marriage. A man can smell it a million mikes away if you are desperate and chasing him. Just be yourself. If you are just being friendly and he thinks you are cheap, that's his headache! Don't let that stop you from being friendly to people. Smile a lot, meet people and be a happy person to have around.

5. BE GENEROUS: Stingy women who can't part with anything don't know what marriage is about. Be generous to people. Be generous with what you have. Be generous with your smile, your love, your talent, your service, your money, your prayers, whatever you've got that can bless lives. Generous women are men attractors, they never lack admirers.

6. BE FORGIVING: Forgive all your EX, forgive the guy who abused you or rape you, forgive all who disappointed you in the past. Practice advance forgiveness, forgive people before they hurt you, more people will offend you. If you find it difficult forgiving people, you will grow bitter and people will move away from you especially men. Release the man who promised you marriage but disappointed you and married someone else. Actually, you were not meant to be. If you had married him, you may have been divorced or dead! Thank God for it and move on. If you don't release that man you may never find any man to marry! Men will unconsciously move away from you and you will be singe and miserable for the rest of your life!

7. BE INTELLIGENT: Men like intelligent women. Know when, how and where to talk. Don't be a dummy upstairs. Know what is going on around you. You shouldn't be a naive, empty-brained, beauty queen. Your face may get you into the marriage, your brain will determine how long you last. A man likes a woman who can give intelligent answers to questions and contribute meaningfully to discussions. If he asks you, "Why is Nigeria in the mess we are in?" And you scratched your head, looked at the ceiling, bite your finger and say, "I don't know" Your brain needs revival!

8. BE NEAT: Dirty ladies are not good marriage candidates. Some ladies look great outside but if you see where they step out, you will remember world war 2! Very dirty, disorganized and rough to say the least! No sane man wants to marry a dirty woman. Learn to be neat. Take good care of your underwear, learn to shave. Keep off the body and mouth odour. Deal with the eczema and pimples, do your hair on time or comb it well. Always appear neat and presentable.

9. LEARN HOW TO DRESS WELL: Wear something that fits you, not what is in vogue. Get a good tailor who can sew clothes that fits your body shape. Learn about your body shape and wear something that flatters your figure. Straight ladies need clothes that flatters the waist line. There are some clothes good on hourglass not good on pear, apple shapes will look great in shirts and suits, pears will look great in gowns etc. I'm not saying you can't wear different kinds of clothes, just wear the ones that fit you. They make you sweet to look at and simply irresistible!

10. LOVE YOURSELF: You can't love others if you don't love yourself. Celebrate yourself. Accept yourself the way you are, you are simply the best. Don't envy anybody. Not everyone's got what you've got, celebrate your uniqueness. Men love ladies who love themselves. Don't envy someone else's looks, love what you have. Don't wish you have a fuller chest, heavy bum, sexy nose or longer hair. The man God created for you needs someone exactly like you and will fall in love with you just the.......https://www.allsinglesandmarried.com/2024/06/how-to-make-man-admire-you-chase-you.html

GODSPOWERPROJECT

Every adventure into a life of wonders begins with the force of obedience

www.domimedia.org

‭John 2:4-5, 7, 9, 11 KJV‬
[4] Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. [5] His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
[7] Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
[9] When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knewwink the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
[11] This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Jesus's beginning of miracles started with obedience.

Until obedience is in view, there can be no change of story in sight.

‭John 5:6-9 KJV‬
[6] When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? [7] The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. [8] Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. [9] And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

Obedience provoked the miracle of the man at the pool of Bethesda.

You cannot take your miracle until you take obedience; it is the pathway to change of story. Taking actions in obedience of faith

‭Hebrews 4:2 KJV‬
[2] For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

‭John 8:28-29 KJV‬
[28] Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. [29] And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

Some of the Virtues in Obedience of Faith

1. Obedience is the gateway to supernatural breakthroughs

‭Zechariah 8:23 KJV‬
[23] Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that GOD is with you.

‭Deuteronomy 28:1-2 KJV‬
[1] And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy GOD, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy GOD will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: [2] and all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy GOD

Breakthrough is the destiny of the redeemed; Obedience is the pathway

‭Joshua 1:8 KJV‬
[8] This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success
.

Obedience speaks louder than voice

Obedience is the trigger for all supernatural manifestations

‭John 14:21 KJV‬
[21] He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Commitment to following GOD'S instructions provoke the supernatural to manifest in our lives.

Obedience may be costly but the end result is priceless
.

‭Hebrews 11:17-19 KJV‬
[17] By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, [18] of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: [19] accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure
.

No one is entitled to the next instructions until you have obeyed the first.

Characteristics of Obedience that works

1. Must be love-oriented

‭1 Samuel 2:3 KJV‬
[3] talk no more so exceeding proudly; Let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: For the LORD is a God of knowledge, And by him actions are weighed.

‭Jeremiah 17:10 KJV‬
[10] I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

‭Romans 8:28 KJV‬
[28] And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

‭1 Corinthians 13:1-3 KJV‬
[1] Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. [2] And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. [3] And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

‭1 John 4:19 KJV‬
[19] We love him, because he first loved us.- We are first recipients of HIS Love.

Obedience works by Faith- Faith works by Love:

‭Galatians 5:6 KJV‬
[6] For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

‭Matthew 22:37-40 KJV‬
[37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the LORD thy GOD with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

‭1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV‬
[9] But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which GOD hath prepared for them that love HIM.

Partial obedience is not acceptable with GOD
We cannot negotiate our instructions with GOD

Partial obedience does not deliver; Only Total Obedience delivers

Obedience may not look like it but it is what you need.

No key resembles a door, but it opens a door.

Every time you question instruction is disobedience

Altar Call

Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins
And accept You as my Lord and Saviour,
I believe you died for me
To make me a new man/woman.
Forgive me all my sins,
wash me with your blood,
And give me a new heart.
Thank you Lord for saving my soul.
Now I believe that I am born again,
And I am a child of GOD.
Amen!

Babysho:

I apologize that I called you names but you came in hot saying I was giving wrong analysis when I was actually backing my arguments with real economic theories. Whereas you were just making your theories out of thin air.

You're gaslighting saying I am agreeing with you somewhere which is false. The one place I agreed you was 2 mentions ago where you said the govt must cut their salaries.

But now, you're even forming new theories in a bid to win an argument in an issue that's so dire. Why not listen to my own theories by known philosophists, you can even Google it and then counter with your argument.

"Cost of living cannot be stopped from rising" - Triplechoice.
My answer - Inflation can and has been reduced everywhere in the world time after time! When Supply is higher than Demand, you stop inflation. Interest rates, Good investments/Infrastructure and Productivity are ways to improve supply.

"Inflation is normal" - Triplechoice
My answer - When Supply = Demand which is equilibrium, that is what is normal.

"If you're have no experience doing business in Nigeria and have employed anyone to work for you, then you still have a lot to learn before teaching anything" -Triplechoice.
My answer - Business is not Economics. Maybe don't argue about economics with actual Economists?

1. I said cost of living or inflation cannot be stopped from rising. You have just replied with, "Inflation can and has been reduced " But I said it can only be managed. Did I not say so? So tell me, what's the difference between "it can only be managed" and what you just replied with?

2. When I say inflation is normal, I'm referring to the rise in the cost of living as something to be expected in any country where economic activities are going on and there's a government to influence things, and not what you think.

3.Economics theory are founded on human behavior which is very difficult to predict. That's why they're not as reliable as those of the exacting sciences like chemistry or physics.

And so, using your brain as a file card for such economic theories or principles and rehashing them in your head in order to give predictions about the future can become like guess work sometimes. What you're saying now about minimum wage and inflation in Nigeria,, was the same others , (you included, I suspect so) said 5 years ago when Buhari was about to signed a new minimum wage of 30k: "It will lead hyperinflation, and the economy will collapse, Nigerian will turn to Zimbabwe" blah blah. But here we are again, 5 years after, the same predictions are being made everywhere , and in another 5 years you will still come up with same talk . Is the current economic climate due to the expired minimum wage of 30k? No. But the economic policies of the current government.

4. Finally, you may not need to own a business or employ anyone, but at least have some practical experiences working with businessess in order to put to practice what you have learnt so you can fully understand it better if not you're no different from a trained marriage counsellor who's never married trying to counsel those who are married or about to, on how best they can make their own marriage work. That's pure nonsense

With regards to your last paragraph, l really don't know..

However, what I do know he is the highest paid player in the club, he has progressed much further from playing for Rangers.

The manager cannot stop 🛑 singing his praises.

But you imply he is inconsequential.

Can you humbly agree your initial assumptions are very off target 🎯 and wrong , particular where he stands with Southampton and his continuing career progression.

I disagree with any assumptions you may think of

There’s no stat you’ll bring in from this season and last that doesn’t show that aribo is a failed experiment and in NBA terms waste of Cap space

Have you seen his minutes per games ratio ??

Have you seen his numbers ??

Even if I was blind deaf and ret@rded you won’t convince me that aribo is a decent player

He’s below average and he’s been below average for Almost 3 years now

Let me not talk about his super eagles mediocre performances

Aribo has been exposed next is chukwueze after that Simon mosss
