directonpc: @slughtly quieter life... Hmmmm One of my younger relatives declined two juicy offers on Nigeria to Japa to UK this year. He got IT related offers at a tier 1 bank and a major beverage multinational but declined both. I just shake my head for Nigeria, the best hands keep leaving in droves. Back then, these two jobs he declined were the dream for some of us. The other one in that bracket was NLNG. It is well. |

ibechris:That's what you are trying to do, literature just like movies and music are effective means of delivering messages in subtle manner, I studied literature and did alot of poetry before switching to sciences, if you want to talk about the country at large, there are ways to write not profiling a particular ethnic group. There are millions of lgb0 children who will feast on soured meaI today and they will be grateful to God that they even have access to it. If u want to write about the country, dón't do ethnic profiling, if u cañ't write better than this, then something is wróñg with u. 2 Likes |

treesun: Tinubu doesn't care a rap if you're killed. For you fools whom he pays a miserly #30k to defend him, try get some common sense. Has anyone here ever heard Tinubu talk about insecurity or show any sign of pain about insecurity since he came on board? Nothing. I never knew Nigeria will ever get a president whom the clannish, calamitous Buhari is better than. Unbelievably sad. |

Agadinaagwuofe: Yes, she has lost a lot as you pointed out,but what of Erisco himself and his company, how much have they lost. Can you quantify the loss in monetary terms. Even Erisco, his staff and family would suffer some psychological stress as a result of dragging by the public. The longer this case persists the worse for the image of his company and thus his sales. Remember he invested billions in the tomato product, which he is yet to recoup. |
Politics / This Is What Most Children Are Passing Through Due To Bad Economy. by ibechris(m): 8:47am |
I went to the market to get some soup ingredients, on getting to my customer, an elderly woman who sells ewedu, was still sorting the vegetables when I got there. I couldn't wait, so I paid for 2 (200) and told her I will be back to collect it. She usually helps me to pluck the ewedu and I pay her 100 for that, sometimes, I give her more, if I have change. After buying all I wanted from the market, I left, totally forgetting my ewedu with mama. On getting home, and removing things from the bag, I remembered. I looked at the time, too tired to go back, I asked someone outside the shop to help me call anyone she sees hawking ewedu. Much later, someone knocked at the gate. I went to open it. They were two little children, not more than 12yrs of age. The one selling ewedu looked thin and tired. I asked him, if he was okay, he nodded. I finished buying the ewedu, Paid him and about to go inside. My mind nudged me to ask again. And the other boy answered for him. "talk na" He said in Yoruba. "He is hungry ma." Past 2pm. "You haven't had lunch?" I asked. "No ma, he hasn't eaten today." The second boy replied in Yoruba. Meaning he hasn't even had breakfast, not to talk of lunch. They weren't even in school to begin with. Hmm. I asked him if he would like to take bread and mayonnaise, cos that's what I had. There was stew, but boiling rice will take their time, I thought. He didn't reply. He just stood, looking at his feet and avoiding my eyes. The second boy answered, "yes, he will eat." I went inside and brought some bread spread with mayonnaise for him and his friend. They sat outside the gate and ate. I didn't want to bring them inside, don't know if they will follow me inside. As they ate, I went to the shop close by and collected 2 cold Fanta and gave them. Told the woman I will bring money later. As they ate, the other one told him, "see what you would have missed. You are too quiet." Then the boy replied, "but I will eat when I get home." His friend replied "You ate eba with water last night, how are you sure you won't do same again today. "that sounded like a jab. "Toheeb, stop." He muttered. "You ate eba with water? How? I asked "There was no soup, mamah said pepper is expensive in the market but maybe she will buy today. " My heart tightened. I tried to inhale and exhale to calm my heart. I went inside, took some money and squeezed it into his hand and told him to give it to mamah to make soup. Immediately, he prostrated, thanking me, with his friend. I asked them to go. As they went, he friend kept giving him a friendly jab, "you see why it is good to talk. But looks like this mummy is angel o. Do you think she is Yoruba? She didn't speak Yoruba with us." He kept chatting away as they walked some distance from me. All the while, Ola, never said a world. He must have seen enough life in his little years on earth, to make him take solace in his thoughts. 15 Likes 1 Share |

directonpc: There are unemployed and under-employed indigenous brits as well, many of them also qualified in various industries and having a range of skills. The fact that some people don't get ideal opportunities is unfortunate but that doesn't negate Reesheesuknack's point that there are myriad ways that the government has created to enable immigrants work and earn very well in the country, as well as benefiting the country too obviously. Another one is the recent flexibility they introduced on the skilled worker visa, which some people would like to downplay because it doesn't fit their negative narrative. 3 Likes |

82man: Insulting the President will not solve the issue. If Peter Obi was elected there will still not be any increment in salary at least we can see how much he paid during his time as governor of Anambra State when compared to other States. One major factor of any good economy which is foundational knowledge is that you have value for money.and Nigeria lost that literally the last 20 years if you compare us to those nations in Europe we like to compare ourselves with whenever we talk about increase in petrol and electricity. |

I am sure this is not what she bargained for when she made the statement. The "wise" thing to do since agreement was made in front of IG suppose tell the lady of she doesn't have "an influential backbone" she should have tow the line of peaceful resolution than all the strong head. |

Maobichek: And the part where they showed up and carted her off to Abuja nko? Not relevant. You can’t talk about how she was accused of breaking the law and not talk about her accuser who actually broke the law. It’s okay to file a lawsuit if you feel wronged! It’s not lawful to first arrest them for insult she’s yet to be convicted for. Stop defending the people who are taking away your rights. If they came for her over this nonsense and you’re backing the tyrant, you’re writing a check for them to do that with impunity anytime they see fit. |

EMXTAN1:It's well bro. That's the wish of every average hardworking but jobless Nigerian youth. Sadly, its about man-no-man. They don't even advertise government jobs anymore. You can see the way tinubu-led administration is sacking at the CBN presently. Don't think those sacked wouldn't be replaced with their own children and that of their friends. It's simply a vendetta mission they're on, not because they want to cut cost. They want to remove the hands of some perceived political enemies within the party, who produced those they sacked, including those emefiele brought in. They're simply playing opposition within same ruling party. I've never seen a thing like this nonsense before. You'd be shocked that in the end, double the number of those sacked will be employed. After all, its a national cake. Chop make I chop levels. If the government is truly serious about cutting cost, fighting corruption and creating jobs, believe me they know what to do and where to start from but they'd never do that. How can you create more ministeries in a distressed economy like Nigeria? Is that more important than appointing Nigerian envoys? What of the fat allowances paid to the NA members for saying hais and nays and passing useless bills like reversing the national anthem? The masses should just stop being deceived, even if na juju dey work on them make them pray to God for emancipation . They keep making same mistake again and again every 4 years and they keep suffering needlessly. 1 Like 1 Share |

Vulcan24:Writing.."this tomato paste tastes too sugary, I think it contains sugar" is an honest opinion. But saying "this tomato paste tastes sugary and has been killing people" is a different thing entirely.. Wait till one of ur neighbor openly accuses u of raping a child across the street, then maybe ur idea of "honest opinion" will change. In this life, there are somethings I won't take lying low, especially when it comes to my integrity. Just like that useless blogger that accused Emoney of sleeping with Junior Pope's wife and complicity in his death. Even you that sees nothing wrong in her actions will no tow her line. 2 Likes |

ReesheesuKnack: To reply to Tech Nation, Graduate visa and the engineers you talk about. I know a few rising tech stars from Naija wey don japa come dey live slightly quieter here. Many graduates MSc. and PhD that won't be employed in professional roles because of the graduate visa. Engineers, even person wey been dey work with shell for Naija dey manage warehouse work for here now. Omo, from my small experience here so far, so much more can be gotten from talented immigrants if anyone is willing to take a chance on them. |
