Why didn't he say it when Jonathan was in power?

That's how they use Igbo heads to break coconuts since you have refused to use your heads to think.

Are sure you where in Nigeria during Jonathan' s government?

What was the reason behind the 2014 confab, do you know the role Pa Edwin Clark played in bathing that conference?

Can you also remember the efforts of your pay master tinubu to frustrate that conference.

I know you are not IGBO, and have no sympathy for the IGBOs

You are only attacking the man because he is telling your master tinubu the simple truth.

You must support Edwin Clark if you mean well for Nigeria

Read the first 2 pages of this thread written in real time by those in Anambra, not the whitewashing of Obis image gong on since he left power
This so so funny man. So in your mind you think a page of a nairaland thread probably created by disgruntled opposition back then is enough to discredit the solid, tangible groundwork Obi did in Anambra. No wonder agbodo boys think they've made it in life when they digged up that page. There's a reason that thread didn't make it pass the 2 page then.

Education, Healthcare, anti-corruption, prudence was Obi's major campaign promise and ending godfatherism for good in that state. He delivered 100% on these areas and confirmed by the people who overwhelmingly voted him again not some few monikers on nairaland.

Anambra rose from 26th to 1st in WAEC/NECO performance in Nigeria under his administration. Till today Anambra is still at the top. He renovated more than 500 schools across the state, procured and distributed above 30,000 computers and laptops to secondary schools in the state. Obi's government provided Microsoft Academies to more than 500 secondary schools with Internet access to these schools. Also more than 700 buses were provided to secondary schools in the state by his administration.

His Administration conceived and built, from scratch, the first state-owned Teaching Hospital, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu teaching Hospital, Awka. His government also built the Joseph Nwilo Heart Centre in St. Joseph, Adazi-Nnukwu, where heart operations are carried out.

By the end of his tenure in 2014, more than 12 health institutions, including two hospitals, had secured accreditation as at zero accreditation when he came into power.

On financial prudence, Anambra was the first state to commence Sub-Sovereign Wealth savings, the first of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa. He moved Anambra from serious debt to zero debt in no time.

The Nigerian Debt Management Office (DMO) rated Anambra as the least indebted state in Nigeria. In spite of visible and measurable achievements recorded in various sectors, the State under him did not borrow or raise bonds for her various projects. This made the Nigerian Senate at the time to rank Anambra State as the most financially stable state in the country. At the end of his tenure, he left 75billion in the government coffers for his successor. This one alone is enough for any sensible person cos no Nigerian politician saves money, they rather borrow and leave the mess for the next.

Anambra has the best road network in the SE, Ngige started it, he consolidated it. He built from scratch the first Secretariat Complex to house State Government Ministries that were scattered across the State.

Now among the top aspirants, Tinubu was the least qualified in real time. In fact in a sane system, the certificate forger would be disqualified and arrested for fraud, identify theft, lack of traceable background and history [maybe he's from Pluto] lying under oath, graduating from a school before it was founded and dealing with narcotics.

These baggages aside, he's too cooked to know Nigeria's problem talk more of solving them. No one among the candidates know Nigeria in the fingertips like Obi with accurate data to back up every word. Sound mind with a sound body not a bulaba brain with a shaking body. The less said about Atiku the better cos aside being VP for 8 years and perennially contesting, I don't see what he's done to even stand out. Maybe his name.

That's why England will never be as successful as France. English media subtle racism towards black players will only spell more doom for their National team. Even Germany is towing that path. Their Media have started campaigning for more white players in their national team.

I wonder if France will ever win any world cup without black players. They also wanted to remove black players from their team which gave them a very poor show in Brazil 2014 and the world cup in 2010. They had to retrace their steps.

You've Appointed 10 Yorubas As Ministers But Only 5 Ministers From South East- According to Edwin Clark To Tinubu
Punch said that Chief Edwin Clark, a South-South politician and former Federal Commissioner for Information, wrote President Bola Tinubu to request that the 2014 National Conference report be implemented immediately. Restructuring is necessary, according to Clark, in order to reintegrate the Igbo people into Nigerian society. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>
Clark highlighted the disparities in appointments, reflecting on the marginalization experienced under President Buhari’s administration. He criticized the imbalance in key roles, including the NNPC board, security chiefs, and ministerial positions.

Clark pointed out the allocation of less than 1% of a $22.7 billion loan to the South-East, which he claimed violated the constitutional requirement for balanced economic development. He called on the Igbo people to assert their rights legitimately and democratically, noting their marginalization and subjugation under the previous administration.

Expressing disappointment with the continuation of these injustices under President Tinubu’s administration, Clark highlighted the unequal representation in ministerial appointments.

He stated, “Mr President, even in your administration, the discrimination and injustice against the Igbos has not abated. The old Eastern Region and the old Western Region, of which I belonged to, were equal competitors and partners before and during the First and Second Republic, but today, you have appointed 10 Yorubas as Ministers from the South-West and only five (5) Ministers from the South-East, and you even failed to give them the ministerial appointment due to their region that would have made it six (6) Ministers. There is no justification for this grave omission and no effort has been made to correct it.”

Clark’s letter highlights the ongoing issues of regional representation and equity in Nigeria’s political landscape. His call for the implementation of the 2014 National Conference report aims to address these disparities and promote a more inclusive governance structure.READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

In my view, this project if actually completed will compliment Lagos, by creating another industrial hub and modern city around Warri Environs. It will help in relieving congestion and job opportunities for our people. Beside in 2014 President Jonathan in 2014, went there to commission the Gas Revolutionary and Industrial Park. Warri, Port Harcourt and Uyo are in Strategic location that makes them appealing for massive industrial project, this is supported by the abundant amount of oil and gas in their environs.

I don't think anyone has to fear that the development of these areas would mean Lagos would collapse, rather they are suppose to work in synergy with Lagos. This is why the Coastal highway initiated by President Tinubu linking these cities is a welcome development,
The locals will be harassing people because it's their once such project comes to life - that's how many businesses left for the SW.

The bold is a very moot point which is invalidated by the spate of bank robberies in Nigeria in recent times . Since around 2014 to this year, we’ve seen a pattern of robbery incidents whereby armed robbers (despite knowing how banks are well guarded) carry out large scale bank robberies .

They literally lit up the nearest police police stations which are well guarded with armed officers, then proceed to sack various banks with heavy shelling. At least this has happened in Kogi state multiple times , Ekiti state multiple times, Benue state , Offa Kwara state, etc to mention a few .

The robbers are aware of the level of resistance that the security agents in the banks and even the first responders can pose and they plan well ahead for it.

That should tell u that u having a gun to fight back won’t stop the criminal , but it will only make him more vicious in his attacks . One of my bosses used to say “ U can’t predict the mind of a criminal “. U can’t sit down as a law abiding citizen and start saying maybe if u do this( like carrying a gun on u) , the criminal will not attack u.

I just tire!

Mr Clark do you know what is democracy ? Tinubu won an election, He has the right to appointments to enhance a successful administration. A lot of people you are advocating for do not even want this advocacy ? They are online insulting the president everyday. If i stand outside your house and insult you everyday and also throw stones at your car. Will you hire me to work as your driver ? Lets make sense out of our utterances,“He who comes into equity must come with clean hands.”

“I repeat again, the immediate restructuring of Nigeria must be carried out if this country is to remain one, and I appeal to Mr. President to take immediate action to implement the historic 2014 National Conference Report, which submitted 600 recommendations to the Presidency on how to restructure Nigeria in every aspect of our lives,” he said.

Once again Mr Clark, you only carry one vote, just like me. You are not more important than any other voter in Nigeria. If you are concerned about national issues, direct them to your representatives, HoR and senate accordingly. Grandstanding media directives can be interpreted as having delusional undertone, telling Nigerians restructuring "must" be carried out. We have a legislative arm of government representing everybody accordingly, these are deemed as proper channels of airing grievances. Please in the future resist the temptation to add must to requests. You are not in a position to say we must do anything.

You're absolutely right. Multinationals wouldn't wanna layoff workers where they're making profits.

My main gross with Tinubu supporters is levity they take on this serious issue of companies leaving.

How do you expect new investors to come when the ones with experience are leaving?

Mind you, you cannot fill up a bucket with water thats already inside the bucket but from external
DeepsightX:

My dear brother, I read am, I no go lie. However the truth is multinationals are fleeing Nigeria. I have worked in several multinationals and still work in one - and I know very well that even with global lay-offs (which I have both handled before and sufferred from) multinationals choose where to play their cards at such moments - and what countries to lay more people off in, intelligently, for their profit. Right now, Nigeria is not making a good case for their attention, especially with its shrinking economy. Consider carefully the impact of an over 500 Billion Dollar economy as at 2014 which has shrank sharply to half that size - with the devaluation of our currency contributing much to that in that last one year alone.

Then think again.

Stop arguing blindly, have you ever been to Delta State. I can bet that you have never been there. Do you know that the stool of "Olu of Warri" is traditionally that of itsekiris. Do you know the land mass occupied by itsekiris in Delta. The riverine and coastal areas of Delta is predominantly occupied by Ijaws.

See I like intelligent contributions, google is your friend; you can research about itsekiris.

They migrated to Delta. The itsekiris will be doing themselves a disservice if they choose to remain in Delta and want to be under Southwest region. It will be a disaster for them.

Your points about regional system of government are well taken and understood in areas of healthy competition and others but get your facts right.

It has a lot of disadvantages, to group the itsekiris under southwestern region, for the itsekiris and even the southwestern regional government

They are at Liberty to belong to any Region through referendum but the confab reports of 2014 is a good template already.....The Itshekiri leaders have already been able to find a place were they know their voices would be heard .....They have never hidden their desire to be joined with the West as it was before ....The Ijaws are having land dispute everywhere but that has been settled in Court so boundary dispute her less this days as compared to what we have in the past in Delta state

Even the man's CLEAR reference in the draft to the Itsekiris and the Yoruba-speaking parts of Edo would be subject to their choice [NOT an imposition]. So, it is left for other ethnicities to unanimously make their own representations to be grouped together based on their own choices just like the man who did the draft said the Itsekiris would do. During the GEJ 2014 National Conference, the Itsekiris and Yoruba-speaking areas of Kwara and Kogi States decided they wanted to be with their kith and kin in the West of Nigeria. The Ijebu-Yorubas and Ilaje-Yorubas of Ogun State and Ondo State are directly related to many Itsekiri communities because it was from those Ijebu and Ilaje communities that many Itsekiris of today ancestrally descended from over 600 years ago. The language dialect that Itsekiris of Delta State speak is understandable to many Ijebus, Ilajes, and Ikale subgroups of the larger Yoruba people historically. The oil and gas-rich Ilajeland in Ondo State and the oil and gas-rich Itsekiriland share direct boundaries as cousins. Every year when the Yoruba intelligentsia and all Obas have their usual big meetings of Yoruba descendants, the past Olus of Warri usually send some of their High Chiefs such as High Chief Ayomike and others to attend and this also includes the attendance by Oba's of Yoruba towns and cities such as Porto Novo (Ajase), Ketu kingdom, etc, in Benin Republic and Togo Republic.

After reading a couple of pages on this thread, I noticed that some Ibos were also quoting you and blindly following your incorrect assumptions here and then started passing highly irresponsible insults at the man who made the supposed draft and Yoruba folks in general which to me amounts to emotional weakness... Is English comprehension such a difficult thing for some of you people of Eastern Nigeria Ibo descent?

Allow them to keep showcasing their natural deep sitted hatred for the Yorubas. There is nothing anyone can do about that. cool

They will preach against tribalism/tribal hate again in 2027 so that we can all support their tribal "messiah".

There is no injustice towards the ibo in particular, what we have Nigeria today is the injustice of the ruling classes towards the rest of us
What you said is a truth. However, that is one version of the injustice. That's the same way we have injustice of herdsmen towards the plants farmers. Injustice of Muslims towards the non Muslims. There is also a system/constitutional injustice towards the South East zone and Igbo people.
The 2014 CONFAB recommendations would have addressed most of these issues.

you are being smart by half. There is no need to give proposal of the regions. You are not the military. Moreso having a member of an ethnic organisation of Yorubas speaking for all Nigerians. Pass a bill in the Nass to give legal backing to the restructuring and then begin constitutional conferences of ethnic and religious representatives, which can last more than a year.

Why Igbo always believe they are hunted by Yorubas beat my imagination.
To be candid, there is no tribe full of hatred for other tribes like the Igbo. It is an inheritance from their forefathers.
For example, i am Yoruba and I canvassed for OBI during election and I know several Yoruba people who were obidients. Most especially the learned.
I was amidst some Yoruba professors in the University of Ibadan before election all were rooting for Obi. Lots of Yoruba students were open with their choice of Obi.

My point is hardly would you see an Igbo in support of a Yoruba or Hausa presidential candidate. Its not because they know he wont perform well but because of hatred. It is in the blood.

You can see the hatred for LOLA Peter of PSquare's wife. If not that Peter was a real Man who called their bluff, he would have divorced his wife.

What about Chioma of Davido ?
They are in support not because Davido is a wonderful husband.
EGO is the reason why all of them keep their hatred invested mouths shut. Love Of Money which is their generational sickness.

Abegi my brother. You shouldn't have wasted your time schooling them. They'll always play the victim card.
It is in their DNA

Politics / Time To Restructure Nigeria, End Injustice Against Igbos- Clark To Tinubu by Noneroone(m): 10:49pm On Jun 13
Edwin Clark, convener of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), says President Bola Tinubu should ensure the restructuring of the country to sustain its unity.

Clark spoke in an open letter addressed to President Bola Tinubu.

In the letter dated June 13, the PANDEF convener alleged that discrimination against the people of the south-east region has continued under the administration of Tinubu.

“Mr. President, even in your administration, the discrimination and injustice against the Igbos have not abated,” the letter reads.

“The old Eastern Region and the old Western Region, of which I belonged to, were equal competitors and partners before and during the First and Second Republic but today, you have appointed 10 Yorubas as Ministers from the South-West and only five Ministers from the South-East and you even failed to give them the ministerial appointment due to their region that would have made it six Ministers.

“There is no justification for this grave omission, and no effort has been made to correct it.

“The most recent opportunity the Igbos had to rebuild their broken leg was when their disunity, selfishness, and greed made the popular Igbo candidate, Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party, lose the election because most Igbos refused to unite behind him with their resources before and during the election, and voting for him massively in the South-East on the election day was like medicine after death.

“Now that the elections are over, we must face the restructuring of this country.”

Clark said the country should be restructured if it must remain one.

“The Igbos of South-East or wherever they are in Nigeria, must stand up and assert their rights legitimately, judiciously, and in a democratic way to benefit like any other Nigerian, as it was before the civil war of 1967.”

The elder statesman said the people of the south-east deserve to have a sense of belonging in Nigeria.

“All that is required is for us to demonstrate reciprocal respect, love, and understanding to one another,” the PANDEF convener said.

“Let us do what is right; let us accommodate one another and be fair to one another.”

U no read say na "global layoffs" make them reduce the size of their Nigerian team or u no understand the English

Yoruba man and sense.

You proposed that Yoruba speaking part of Kwara and Kogi, and even some part of Delta and Edo state be merged with south west to form Western region.

But in the case of south east, you didn't propose that the Igbo speaking part of Rivers, Delta, Benue, Kogi, Cross River, etc be merged together to form South Eastern region, rather to show your true colour of hatred, you are proposing that the Ohaji/Egbema region, one of the oil producing LGAs in southern imo state be removed from South East to form part of Southern/Niger Delta region. Is it not shameless daylight witchcraft?
If YOU had read the article with an open mind, and without emotions, you would have seen where it was stated that it's just a DRAFT subject to "additions and subtractions." It's NOT a final document. The whole thing might even be rejected!

The Itshekiri leaders have already assent to be joined with the West due to their mistrust of Ijaws ....This is contained in the 2014 confab reports as Well as the Okun people of Kogi and kwara state.....
It's the minority of the Old eastern region that are jittery of going back to Enugu as Capital ...
Insightful.

The only major issue that I see with the Itsekirilands would come from choosing the border frontiers between them and Urhobos and Ijaws. i'm also aware that Itsekiris have won landmark judgements at the Supreme Court over their lands which the section of Delta State Ijaws claimed to be theirs and which they have refused to accept the Supreme Court judgements. The FG should have stepped in years to ensure that court judgements are enforced. There should be a win-win situation for all three groups among the Itsekiris, Urhobos, and Delta State Ijaws.

If so, will the Itsekiris leave Delta to be relocated to the South Western region?

Do they want to remain in Delta yet be classified as Southwest Region?

That proposal is not logical and devoid of geographical understanding

The only issue I have with the proposal is the request to join Itsekiri in Delta to South West region.

I think it is not feasible or necessary especially die to geographical location.

I think the proposal that Yoruba speaking people of Edo,Kogi and Kwara to join the South Western region is in order however subject to the decision of the people of those Yorubas speaking areas to decide.

Well spoken Senator Dani, and the recap of that justice and equity lies with the implementation of 2014 national conference report organized by the former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. The earlier they implement it the better.

What of passion...

Who is doing it for PASSION?

I am. I know loads of people here are very condescending when people talk about doing IT for passion. But trust me there are ton of folks doing it for passion. Not like they aren’t interested in money o, but if there was no money in it, many of us would still be In this grind. I mean heck, we studied computing when there were hardly any computers in the country. And we still learned to program purely for “fun”. I remember buying my first Laptop (a Toshiba work horse) in 2002. Everyone thought I was mad. Same experience when I “blew” money importing a Raspberry Pi in 2014. With passion, the financial benefits will always follow.

I’m not saying that those who are driven by ”sapa” aren’t top notch. To each their own.
