Hi there
I drive a 2014 elantra.
Recently I have been having issues with the car stalling and haltingeven when motion. Mechanic recommended a change of camshaft heads. However, issue persists. The immobilizer light comes on when the car is on and the the rpm reduces and car goes off. What can I do?
If I understand you correctly? Your immobilizer light and other lights come on after the engine has shut off? If this is the case, then it is normal for lights to be on if the engine was running and shut off itself (not initiated by driver), if you had come on here before "camshaft head" was changed as advised by your mechanic, I'd have advised you get an OEM oil filter and see what happens. When this happens, look very carefully, does your oil light flicker?( This might be less than a second) Can be hard to catch.

We can see that in how Anambra he governed is doing beta than Lagos Tinubu governed.

This is why South East and South South are not joining protests against Tinubu, they only blame him for supporting Buhari who had no business ruling this country, they warned Nigerians from 2014 but they were castigated, Tinubu is just trying to revive the carcass left behind by Buhari which Peter Obi would have done better in terms of the economy

I disagree with the above, the man is guilty even than buhari, he knows very well that buhari is incapable, but because they want to annex Nigeria to themselves, he brought him to power, and claimed emilokan after him. The act of reappointing the man at the center of subsidy scam is a total disservice to the poor masses of this country, because he swore to serve with the best of his ability and not allow personal interest to overtime the public interest. NNPC MD, suppose to be sharing the same room in kirikiri prison with emefele because they all committed an act economic sabotage. Even though the policy of emefele was painful, but there are some benefit we enjoyed, like going to any retail outlet to purchase item without cash, but with only your ATM or android phone to transfer the money, this has made shopping more convenient, but all Kayri' s policies are agony and suffering, that even levels 14 or 15 officers can no longer ride car in most places.

This thing has started since o

When Chelsea won 2012 UCL and Spain won Euros 2012 how did Messi win Balon D'or 🤔

Messi had 100 goals contribution or so, scoring 70+goals and think that was one of the beginning points of stats mania.

I believe that's why Ronaldo with UCL and high stats won the balon d'or yet Ronaldo at least had the UCL in 2014 when there were shouts for Neuer to win it. But that 2012 iniesta well his stats were just too poor for an AM both club and country. The person that deserved it was Xavi but he didn't get it.
Business / Alternative Bank, Niger State Gov’t To Launch Africa’s Largest EV Fleet by PENTALK360(m): 11:31am On Jun 10
In a landmark deal, Nigeria’s largest ethical banking institution, The Alternative Bank have signed a pioneering deal, valued at over N 14 billion, with the Niger state government to finance the delivery of 5000 electric tricycles to drive social impact, youth empowerment, business growth, and economic prosperity in the Power State.

The landmark deal will see the Niger State government, through its ministries of Transportation, Youth, Women Affairs, and Small and Medium Enterprises, procure the tricycles for the programme,
lease them to beneficiaries, establish an assembly and maintenance plant, and train resident youths of the state as mechanics to service the tricycles. With the charging and battery swap stations for the electric tricycles to be installed at strategic locations such as schools, hospitals and markets across major towns in the state.

The Executive Governor of Niger State, His Excellency, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, commented by saying that this deal is one step towards the upliftment of the state towards realizing its full economic potential and making Niger a “green” state.

Governor Bago said the choice of the Alternative Bank as the partner for this project is due to its innovative approach towards wealth creation, with the bank taking a joint-investor and partner-inprogress approach to financing projects, as opposed to the traditional commercial model of being just a lender.

Speaking at the deal-signing ceremony, Alhaji Garba Mohammed, Executive Director at The Alternative Bank, said that “This project, as conceived, will provide solutions to aid the economic involvement of the women, youth and small businesses by generating commercial value for the people and the government, safeguarding the environment through the use of renewable and sustainable energy sources as a driver of transportation with the great state of Niger.”

He continued by saying that “This will be the single largest delivery of electric vehicles across the country, and on the African continent.” He concluded by stating that “Unlike vehicles powered by internal combustible engines consuming petrol, compressed natural gas and other fossil fuels, these 5000 tricycles will contribute to the reduction of pollution in Niger State, aligning perfectly with The Alternative Bank’s commitment to wealth creation, social growth, and environmental responsibility.”

This deal comes in swiftly on the heels of the Alternative Bank’s recent delivery of 120 electric tricycles to the Mata Zalla and Yar Baiwa cooperatives in Kano State. The details of the project’s delivery saw the bank deliver tricycles to the women of the cooperatives, train them on servicing and maintenance of the vehicles, as well as create a battery swapping terminal within the Kano metropolis for easy recharging of the tricycles for continued operation.

The outcomes of the recently launched program include economic inclusion and independence for the women, increased transportation options for residents of the metropolis, reduced transportation costs within the vicinity due to the energy cost efficiency of the electric powered, improved security and safety for women commuters within the region, and a considerable net positive environmental impact due to the renewable energy powered nature of the tricycles.

About The Alternative Bank:
The Alternative Bank commenced its journey in January 2014 with a vision to create a dynamic banking experience that respects individuality and speaks the language of its customers. In July 2023, the Central Bank of Nigeria issued a Banking License to The Alternative Bank, enabling it to operate as a fully-fledged, standalone bank. Guided by its Advisory Committee of Experts (ACE), The Alternative Bank ensures all its operations align with the ethics of Non-Interest Banking. For more information, please visit www.altbank.ng

drop transcript if you can

0:00
the year was 1998 a lady had just booked a flight that would take her from Nigeria to
0:06
Saudi Arabia she had taken her time to prepare for this trip because a lot
0:12
depended on it this trip was coming days after the country lost its leader the
0:18
people were still mourning so it was then a surprise to see that the lady
0:23
embarking on this trip was the late president's wife this was where things
0:29
got into interesting while checking in at the airport the late president s bacha's
0:34
Widow had 38 pieces of luggage this raised a lot of questions but it was
0:40
when the police decided to search her bags to see what she was taking with her to Saudi Arabia that they uncovered the
0:47
most shocking thing in the history of corruption these 38 suitcases were
0:52
stuffed with loads of cash Miriam vacher was smuggling money out of the country
0:58
in suitcases this alarming Discovery soon caught the attention of the new military
1:04
government whose money was she running with how much money is she running away
1:09
with is she trying to secure the money stolen by the abacha government this series of questions must
1:16
have been welling up in the minds of the investigators as they launched what would be the most interesting hunt for
1:24
the infamous abacha loot I spent this past couple of weeks pouring over the
1:30
cut documents from all the trials that followed the investigations I wanted to
1:35
understand how he did it who helped him was there a Syndicate most importantly
1:42
what happened to the return font here with me and names bank records and other
1:48
documents that will help us answer these important questions I promise you it's not the usual aracha conspiracy so
1:56
buckle up because it's going to be a wild ride
2:12
General s Bacha was one of the most controversial leaders in Nigerian history after helping bring back the
2:19
military in the 1983 C that installed Mohammad barari as Nigeria's military
2:25
head of state he would again participate in another C 20 months later to remove
2:30
the same bhari for another General now Ibrahim banga but it was the 1993
2:37
political crisis that brocked Nigeria following the June 12 election that gave way to the catastrophic regime of s
2:45
abacha having seized power however abacha promised that there would be a transition to a civilian government
2:51
within a few years those few years before that transition would turn out to
2:57
be the most difficult for the Nigerian people any attempt to test our will will be
3:03
decisively dealt with from randomly jailing activists and critics to a
3:08
massive Crackdown on media and Civil Rights group abacha did every Unthinkable thing you can imagine his
3:15
most brutal moment saw him execute Niger data activist and playright Ken sarwa
3:21
this event had a disastrous effect on Nigeria as the International Community ostracized the country for human rights
3:28
violations but it wasn't all that gloomy while his human rights violation were well
3:34
documented abacha's Administration also oversaw an increase in the country's foreign exchange reserves from $494
3:42
million in 1993 to 9.6 billion by the middle of 1997 and reportedly reduced
3:50
the externed debt of Nigeria from 36 billion in 1993 to $27 billion by 1997
3:58
there are some in Nigeria today who still believe abacha to be a good economic manager his supporters claim he
4:05
stabilized the exchange rate at 22 Nar per dollar even though the unofficial rate was 80 Nair per dollar spoilers a
4:12
lot this policy benefited many of his chosen Associates who were buying
4:18
dollars at the official rate and selling it in the black market more on that later now after aacha dealt with the
4:25
political crisis of 1993 he placed his loyalist in key positions to ensure there was no real
4:32
threat to his power his heavy-handed approach to criticism also meant media
4:37
houses were not turning their search light on him and his family this was when the Looting
4:48
began in 2014 the US forfeited more than 48 million one of the largest
4:55
forfeitures in history these were proceeds of corruption hidden in bank accounts all around the world bank
5:02
accounts owned by former Nigeria dictator General s abacha and his co- conspirators one of the US assistant
5:09
attorney generals Leslie R Caldwell of the Justice Department's Criminal Division said quote rather than serve
5:17
his country General Bacher used his public office in Nigeria to loot millions of dollars the justice
5:24
department official revealed that the US government was forfeiting this 480
5:29
million in corruption proceeds to be used for the benefit of the Nigerian people but
5:36
why was this happening now how did this money even end up in these Western countries that usually whine about the
5:43
high levels of corruption in Africa the Judgment that ordered this huge forfeiture was the result of a civil
5:49
forfeiture complaint the Department of Justice filed in November 2013 against more than $625 million in the largest
5:57
kleptocracy for fure Action brought in the Department's history these are the court documents from that lawsuit it
6:04
read here in the United States district court for the District of Colombia United States of America asset for
6:10
feature money laundry section Criminal Division United States Department of Justice
6:17
yeah this includes approximately $33 million into bank accounts in the bwick
6:23
of Jersey $144 million in two bank accounts in France and three bank
6:29
accounts in the United Kingdom and island with at least $27 million the investigation conducted by
6:36
the FBI led to this damning document that was then tendered at the United States District Court of Colombia the
6:43
documents which I have right here with me implicated the late son of the Nigerian leader Ibrahim abacha his
6:51
second son Muhammad abacha his associate abaka tiu bodu former National Security
6:58
advisor is Mila guazo associate of the abacha family alhaji amadu da then
7:05
Minister of Finance Chief antthony Annie there is also lawyer and Associate of the abacha family David omaru these
7:13
people were accused of using funny offshore companies to divert billions of dollars of Nigerian State funds into
7:20
their private accounts the document highlighted how in one instance abacha
7:26
Muhammad bodu and others systematically embeded buled public funds worth
7:31
billions of dollars from the Central Bank of Nigeria on the pretense that the funds were meant to be used for National
7:39
Security the CBN not wanting to stand in the way of National Security dispersed
7:44
the funds after which abacha and bodu moved them overseas in all more than $2
7:51
billion was stolen from the Central Bank of Nigeria alone but how was abacha able to loot
7:58
this sort of money with no one finding out I mean the wife tried running with 38 boxes and she got
8:05
caught right so how did he do
8:10
it according to these detailed investigations abacha would direct his National Security advisor is Mila guazo
8:18
who doubled as his bagman to present him with false funding request for security operations or equipment which were
8:26
within his powers to authorize in one of the memor wrting to aater by guazo he
8:32
urgently demanded money from the Nigerian treasury to fight critics overseas in is what quote America has
8:39
gone bizer and seems to leave no stone unturned in ridiculing this nation in
8:45
the 1994 memo written by isazo he demanded that $30 million be
8:51
wired to a Geneva account abacha then signed off on the letters and forwarded
8:56
them to the CBN which was then forced to disburse the funds in all abacha
9:02
endorsed well over 64 security vote letters Each of which resulted in the
9:08
withdrawal of huge sums of money from the CBN at times the funds were directly
9:14
remitted in Travelers checks and to avoid delays cash was also given by the
9:19
Central Bank of Nigeria to ISM a guazo who then took the money to General s abacha's house at the house Mohammad
9:27
abacha the dictator son would wait to launder the money through Nigerian Banks
9:32
or by Nigerian or foreign businessmen to Offshore accounts belonging to Muhammad
9:38
abacha ABA abacha Abdul Kadir abacha and their associate Abu Baka ATU
9:46
bodu according to these investigations there were instances of about 36 transfers totaling 386 million us where
9:56
the monies were transferred directly from the central bank of Nigeria by wire transfers to bank accounts abroad held
10:04
by offshore companies belonging either to members of the abacha criminal organization or to Nigerian or foreign
10:11
businessmen who later remitted the same sums to members of this
10:18
organization on one particular interesting occasion abacha and one of his associates an made the government
10:25
purchase non-performing government debt from a company controlled by bodu and
10:30
Mohammad abacha at highly inflated prices they reportedly generate a profit
10:37
of over $282 million from this deal during his regime abacha exercised
10:44
full control over Government Contracting Award of oil and gas concessions and
10:50
other lucrative government Ventures this control was used by The Syndicate to
10:55
seek bribes from foreign companies in November 199 93 for example abacha
11:01
stopped payment on Nigerian government contracts with foreign companies including the dumes group a French civil
11:08
engineering firm although the dumes group would later restructure itself as a Nigerian based Company dumes nigeran
11:15
Limited it was unable to collect approximately $469 million in connection with this
11:23
contract investigations revealed that an attorney an associate of the abacha
11:28
family advised the owners of dumes that payments could be restarted if they
11:34
agreed to kick back 25% of those payments to their B of family dumes
11:40
agreed with this Arrangement the company would later enter into an agreement with Allied network limited a Nigerian
11:47
corporation that was created by the said associate of the aach family to receive Kickbacks on behalf of this
11:54
family by December of that year this abacha associate who who went by the name umaru opened an account in the name
12:02
of Allied network limited at Union Banker prev ubp in Geneva Switzerland
12:08
this account was used to Fel Kickback payments to the Bacha organization dumes opened an account at
12:15
ubp to receive the payments from the Nigerian government once they were restarted between August 16 1996 on May
12:24
22 1998 the CBN transferred money to the dumes account at ubp in
12:30
Geneva out of this amount $97 million or
12:35
25% of the set contract sum was then transferred by dumes to Allied network
12:42
limited for distribution to members of this abacha organization sometime in late 1997
12:49
Mohammad abacha received some payments from this same dumes this payment was
12:54
intended for Allied network limited
13:01
now as part of their looting mechanism aach bman is M Au guazu persuaded the
13:07
late dictator to allow him to flood the market with US dollars to maintain a stable exchange rate with permission
13:14
granted guazu bought $100 million from the Central Bank of Nigeria at the official rate of 22 naara per dollar and
13:22
sold at the market rate of 84 Nair per dollar keeping the profit but the
13:29
illegal activities didn't stop here on December 9th 1995 the Nigerian
13:35
president's wife Mariam abacha went on television to publicize the start of her
13:40
immunization program this was her moment to give back to the people as the mother
13:46
of the nation who cared for her children she was saddened by the fact that Nigeria was now isolated and children
13:54
were dying from curable diseases such as tuberculosis polio me
13:59
menitis and deia this harmonization program was a
14:04
way to give Nigerian children a Fighting Chance what Mrs abacha failed to mention
14:10
however was that her son Muhammad and his businessman sidekick abub Baka bhuru
14:17
were siphoning off $66 million from the $111 million purchase of vaccines from
14:24
the French FM pxo Marios according to this investigation
14:30
the money was stashed away in Western banks with the perfectly legal help of a
14:35
certain David Jones David Jones is a British
14:41
businessman whom Muhammad described as a family friend for 20 years Jones lived
14:48
in Hampshire and was a director of Smith and TS a company based in Bor Hill
14:53
Street South London guess what Muhammad abacha was a principal first shareholder
15:00
in this company in a document prepared by mohammad's lawyer Mr Jones is
15:05
described as general s bacher's manager in the records of the US City Bank where theacher Brothers had an account for
15:12
more than 10 years Mr Jones is shown to have the power of attorney over Muhammad's private account through which
15:19
tens of millions of dollars were moved in April 1996 City Bank records show a
15:26
transfer to Smith and tires of 300 $1,000 a further $500,000 went to Smith
15:32
and tires in 1999 from Harbor engineering another about company well back to our vacine story so it turns out
15:40
the vacine transactions did raise a few eyebrows among London Bankers in fact in
15:46
1995 Claudia nazelle of City Bank in Barkley Square emailed quote I just do
15:53
not feel right about this deal it has typical characteristics of a 41
15:59
fraud sound sound like wrong to you yeah there is a copy of the email her
16:06
colleague David heo said the client is a prominent and long-standing Nigerian
16:13
customer yeah this her colleague went further to say he felt they needed to be
16:18
specific and clear and diplomatic in the way the president J conin about potential money laundering
16:25
scams despite this legitimate concerns raised the deals went through the stolen funds
16:32
were mostly sent to accounts held in far away countries in Switzerland alone
16:38
abacha had over 140 accounts holding more than $750 million in 11 banks in
16:46
Lenin he had $100 million in three Banks lenberg $630 million UK $450 million in
16:55
20 accounts held in 11 Banks I know your wondering but who are the others that
17:01
made up The Syndicate it couldn't have been a Bater and his family alone yeah
17:07
the list is a long [Music]
17:12
one while going through Paper Trails left by The abacha Syndicate
17:17
investigators uncovered names of foreign Banks and bankers who help facilitate the hundreds of
17:23
transactions but who are these folks let's go to the associates we have
17:29
Gabriel katri a swis Israeli Banker Mr katri was a financial advisor to several
17:35
heads of state in the Middle East in Africa he was convicted in November 2009
17:41
for abetting what was described as a criminal Enterprise by ABA abacha Mr
17:47
katri was later fined $10 million and given a non- custodia sentence by the
17:52
Swiss investigating magistrate and then we have gibba chory Mr chory is is a
17:59
Nigerian born businessman of lebanes descent he's a founder of the chory
18:04
group whose multi-billion dollar assets span construction manufacturing real
18:10
estate and hotels according to court documents in the 1990s Mr Chri helped
18:15
set up accounts with SG re Bank in Geneva for their B of family enabling
18:21
them to benefit from illegal transfers of over $120 million from the Central
18:26
Bank of Nigeria and secured immunity from prosecution he was convicted in 2000 of
18:32
money laundry and aiding criminal organization he later paid $600,000 in
18:39
fines to the court in Geneva Switzerland and refunded $66 million to the Nigerian
18:44
government and then we have Abu Baka bodu according to court documents Mr
18:49
bodu was perhaps the most prolific bagman of The abacha Syndicate when
18:55
addressing the court one of the American investigators said quote abubakar atiu
19:00
bodu was an associate of general abacha and his sons who participated in the
19:06
conspiracy to steal and lunder hundreds of millions of dollars among other
19:11
things bodu played an instrumental role in setting up and executing the
19:16
complicated Financial transactions used to launder the proceeds of the conspiracy and of cour Mr Bodo was
19:24
involved with all the offshore front companies and bank accounts from from the British Virgin Islands to Ireland to
19:31
Switzerland Germany Singapore England Paris gwenzi and Jersey used to steal
19:38
and Loan the billions of dollars belonging to Nigeria under the aacha regime he acted as a director and in
19:45
some cases as a signatory or prime beneficiary well after the return of
19:51
democracy this same man has served as a senator and then governor of Nigeria's
19:56
Northwestern K State he currently serves as minister of budget and economic

Politics / Owelle Mbaso As An Unrepentant Mercenary. By Chinedu Obigwe by TonyRazor(m): 7:05am On Jun 10
Owelle Mbaso as an unrepentant mercenary. By Chinedu Obigwe

Re - Ojukwu: APGA can't deceive us again, ifeanyi Ubah is people's choice - Owelle Mbaso* .

What I like about the above referred news report is that Owelle Mbaso used his own hands to unmask himself as an unrepentant mercenary.

I will not mince words to tell the general public that someone like Owelle Mbaso that was described as a mercenary by Fmr Governor Obiano that is his former boss does not have the moral grounds to criticise APGA leaders.

He makes noise for his bread to be buttered and that is taking selfishness to the highest level.

Let me refresh my readers memory on what made Owelle Mbaso to unmask himself as an unrepentant mercenary and go haywire against Governor Soludo and APGA leaders.

When Governor Soludo came into office, he decided to cut down the cost of governance and to implement his decision, he did not share political appointments like Father Christmas to many people.

Mercenary like Owelle Mbaso was affected and he formed a rebel group that he tagged Anambra State Former Political appointees class of 2014 to 2022.

Funny enough, when this group was formed and Owelle started parading himself as their leader, Fmr Governor Obiano that is the boss of all the former appointees rejected Owelle parade of himself as their leader.

He boldly told Owelle Mbaso that he is a mercenary that cannot be trusted and for that reason that he cannot lead his former appointees.

What Fmr Governor Obiano that is Owelle Mbaso former boss said against him has turned out to be the straw that broke the camel's back
and unfolding events have vindicated Obiano.

The unrepentant mercenary called Owelle Mbaso used agitation for payment of severance allowance to deceive some of the gullible minded former appointees into dancing the tune of his music.

He ended up using them to secure appointment as a senior legislative aide to the current Senate President through the help of the clueless Ifeanyi Ubah that was using him as his mercenary in APGA.

It was after his appointment as Senior legislative aide to the Senate President that he decided to unmask himself.

He did that late because APGA leaders know him very well as an unrepentant mercenary and kept him at an arms length.

He was properly checkmated by APGA leaders and whatever he is doing today against APGA is pouring water on a stone.

Owelle Mbaso has unveiled himself as someone that is among those hatching the evil plots of bringing a cursed Ifeanyi Ubah on our beloved state as Governor but their evil wish and plan is dead on arrival.

As for Owelle Mbaso claim that Governor Soludo has consistently disparaged Ojukwu's name and removed his image from party materials, it is a lie from the pit of hell.

If what he is saying is true, Her Excellency Iyom Bianca Ojukwu will be the first person to raise alarm and distance herself from Governor Soludo administration.

But as I pen down this reaction Her Excellency Iyom Bianca Ojukwu is the number 1 supporter of Governor Soludo administration and she is playing crucial roles in his government.

I will not forget to advise APGA leadership to get ready to wield the big stick against any party faithful that attends the meeting being summoned by Owelle Mbaso at Ifeanyinyi Ubah residence in Nnewi.

He is calling the meeting for Ifeanyi Ubah on the platform of Anambra State Former Political appointees class of 2014 to 2022.

The meeting is expected to hold on 30th and 29th June 2024.

To the best of my knowledge, those that worked for former Governor Obiano that is APGA BOT Chairman are members of APGA and they are not supposed to attend political meeting at Ifeanyi Ubah's residence.

APGA must do the needful of sacking any member of the party that is seen in that gathering being summoned by the unrepentant mercenary called Owelle Mbaso at Ifeanyi Ubah's residence.

They can work against APGA as members of opposition party and not as members of APGA.

I have no doubt in my mind that the manifestation of the already foreseen defeat of Ifeanyi Ubah by Governor Soludo in 2025 governorship election will humble Owelle Mbaso and make him to bury his head in shame.

Abia Politics Of Hate And Bitterness, A Historical Perspective.

By Uche Aguoru

It's quite amusing how some people have been struggling to wear a clannish toga to the politics of bitterness and hatred going on in Abia state.

Shockingly, I have read some of our Ngwa brothers blame people from the old Bende for the attacks and insults being hauled at Dr. Ikpeazu in the media.

For clarity, those who initiated and orchestrated the attacks, insults, and abuses on the person of Dr. Ikpeazu are his Ngwa brothers.
I have yet to see any individual from Old Bende who has hauled a quarter of the measure of the vulgar attacks and malignment on Dr.Ikpeazu's image and family more than Hon. Dannie Ubani.

No other politician in the history of Abia state had launched the volume of abusive campaigns the way Hon. Ginger Onwusibe did to the former governor, and the last time I checked, they were his Ngwa brothers.

The present government in Abia state led by Dr. Alex Otti, has encouraged and elevated bitterness and hate, making it an unofficial state policy. To fully understand the origin of hate and bitterness that has permeated the fibers of Abia politics, one must take a journey back to history beginning from the M I Okpara era.

Dr. Michael Okpara, a revered leader who was loved by many governed the Eastern Region as its premier, an entire geographical sphere that covers what is today known as South East and part of South-South, though highly respected, his arch-political rival then was Dr. JOJ Okezie, his Ibeku brother in the present-day Umuahia North LGA, history has it that their rivalry was very tense and bitter and most often degenerated into physical exchange of blows between the supporters of Dr. Okpara and those of Dr. Okezie.

Upon his globally celebrated return from exile in 1979, his Ohuhu brother, Dr. O B Aguocha, a commissioner in the cabinet of Dr Sam Mbakwe in the then Imo State became his major opposition and political adversary.

Apart from the hostility that existed between the late Lamidi Adedibu, the political godfather of Oyo state who is famous for his Amala style of politics, and ex-Governor Rashidi Ladoja of Oyo state, history has yet to record another political hatred and bitterness comparable to the one that has existed between Senator T.A Orji and Prince BB Apugo.

Overlook the pretenses, apart from Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, who genuinely forgave, the average Ohuhu political class has not fully forgiven former Governor T.A Orji, because of the fierce governorship contest of 2007/8, they still accuse him of intentionally underdeveloping Ohuhu politically.

The political crisis between then Governor T.A Orji and Dr Orji Kalu, was an avoidable crisis that only benefitted a few individuals while the state suffered political backwardness.

I was shocked when Chief Charles Ogbonnaya (Evule Ogu) a politician I have deep respect for because of his sincerity on issues, told me a story about why he would never forgive Chief Sam Okwulehie, narrating what he did to them when his brother the late Chief Johnson Onuigbo (Akinbod) was contesting for the chairmanship seat of Umuahia North, in his usual frankness swore never to support any of his children in any political contest both now and in the future.

The major obstacle in Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu's governorship journey in 2014 were his Ngwa brothers, many of them stood against him as a preferred choice of the then-Governor T.A Orji, it took the intervention of Elder Emmanuel Adaelu and a few other respected Ngwa elders to convince his Ngwa brothers to support his candidacy.

The Abia political history from creation has been a story of "Iro no na Ulo" which has done us more harm than good, it has stunted societal growth and development and has left a malignant cancer in the Abia political system thus creating confusion, disrespect and mutual suspicion amongst brothers and sisters making it difficult for people to lift or assist their brother's political growth genuinely.

It is only in Abia that Former Governors maintain enmity with the serving governor to the point of distancing themselves from government functions and programs and are even refused in most cases to contribute experience, ideas, or suggestions necessary for the growth and development of the state where they once administered and are supposed to be statesmen.

This piece will be incomplete if I don't emphasize the devilish roles of merchants of political crisis whose stock in trade is to stoke crisis even where it does not exist, these politicians who we all know as ndi "ori na crisis" intentionally create these crises for purposes of selfish political and financial benefit at the expense of the peace and development of the state, truth be told no society can experience holistic political, social, and infrastructural development when their leaders are at war with each other.

This cycle of hate and bitterness needs to stop, we must separate opposition politics from politics of hate, animosity, and resentment, This generation must begin to see images of our past and present political leaders in one picture dining, wining and laughing during state functions just like we see in other states.
It does not diminish our individual political beliefs or differences nor stop us from exercising our political rights of criticizing or advising the government where necessary.

Peace and unity are priceless in every society, they make us more effective and help accelerate societal growth and development, our leaders should learn that any society that sows animosity must reap crisis.

Let me take a quote from one of the most influential musical icon in history Jimi Hendrix “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”

Education / Waziri Adam’s Failure To Complete Phd At University Of Lagos 14 Years After by Jatuski: 6:12pm On Jun 09
By; AUWALU UMAR

The attention of Management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has been drawn to a press release issued today (Sunday, 9th June, 2024) by Malam Waziri Isa Adam, a staff member of the institution, accusing the University Management of his failure to complete his PhD degree at the University of Lagos 14 years after enrolment for the programme.

The staff, an Assistant Lecturer at the institution’s Department of Mass Communication, also claimed that his academic pursuits had been “unfairly targeted due to his outspoken criticism of the VC’s actions”, which, he further said, had “caused significant delays and obstacles in his academic pursuits”.

Given the wishy-washy manner in which he presented his PhD update as captured in the release simply to deceive the public, it is pertinent for the University Management to respond and make official clarification on the matter.

Malam Adam has been an Assistant Lecturer since 28th January, 2009 after his upgrade from Graduate Assistant following completion of his MSc Mass Communication degree from the University of Lagos. He has been on that rank for well over 15 years now because of his inability to meet the institution’s academic promotion requirements.

He joined the services of Ahmadu Bello University as a full-time staff on the rank of Graduate Assistant on 20th February, 2006. So he has been a stagnated academic staff for more than 18 years, a period long enough for him to attain the peak of his career. Those, who came much later than him, are either Associate Professors or Professors now.

Adam had sought and obtained admission in 2010/2011 academic session to undertake PhD in Mass Communication at the University of Lagos, for which he was awarded Study Fellowship for a period of three years with full pay by Ahmadu Bello University from 22nd November, 2010 to 21st November, 2013. He was further awarded the then Education Trust Fund (ETF) Academic Staff Training and Development Intervention award in the sum of N1,600,000 in 2010. At various times he sought and was given financial support by the University to cover tuition fees, accommodation, books, and research costs. On request, the study Fellowship was extended from 22nd November, 2013 to 21st November, 2014; and from 22nd November, 2014 to 21st November, 2015 in the first and second instances respectively to enable him to complete the PhD degree.

In November, 2015, Malam Waziri Isa Adam returned to the University to continue teaching activities without completing the PhD. On 1st February, 2016, he sought another one year extension of the Study Fellowship to enable him to complete the programme. At that point, his Head of Department informed the then Vice-Chancellor that Waziri Isa Adam was teaching (without permission) at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi. Consequently, the University requested him via a letter dated 9th March, 2016 that he should provide an official progress report on his PhD programme at the University of Lagos. Adam did not respond to the inquiry and so his request was not granted.

On 10th February, 2021, he re-applied for two years Leave of Absence from the University to enable him to complete the PhD. To enable the University process his request, he was further asked to provide comprehensive report on the outcome of the Study Fellowship previously awarded to him from 22nd November, 2010 to 21st November, 2023, and the two extensions granted him. He was also requested to explain the status of the then ETF Academic Staff Training and Development Intervention award made to him. Adam also did not respond to the inquiry and his request was not granted. On 11th May, 2021, the University requested Adam to submit progress report of his PhD academic standing through his Head of Department, which he also chose not to respond to.

In a desperate attempt to distract the University and avert accountability, Adam has suddenly turned to his well-known and age-long blackmail style on the University Management using the platform of the newspaper business that he runs on full-time basis. While it is unclear if the newspaper, Education Monitor, is registered with relevant regulatory agencies or not, Adam has continued to publish spurious allegations against the Management of the University.

When Prof. Kabiru Bala assumed duty as the Vice-Chancellor, Adam expected that the new administration would patronise him as the previous administrations used to. At various times in the past, he was appointed as media consultant and he was also patronised through placements of adverts in Education Monitor. It is crystal clear to him that Prof. Kabiru Bala would not be stampeded or coerced into his antics.

Let’s wait for an official confirmation from the IDF regarding the DNA results of the remains or two bodies found in a tunnel in Gaza.

It would be epic if these are of Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin whose bodies are held by Hamas since the 2014 Gaza War, also known as Operation Protective Edge.

Yes, but capital money to start. For example, I can breed catfish, which can give me lots of money weekly. Where will I get money to get at least half plot of land, fence it, dug borehole, erect my hatchery tanks, buy broad stocks, buy ovaprim or ovatide, before I start cashing out every week. That is the problem. I have had this knowledge since 2014 but have nowhere to get seed capital to begin

In advance, I apologise for the harshness.

The above shows me that you don't have the required knowledge. Knowledge includes experience, you see. And you gain experience by doing, which you have not shown you have done since 2014. You even lack the knowledge to achieve the first step in your project above, which is get seed capital.

Investors are like, it is your fruit that we shall invest in and not your seed, but you haven't got any seed yet, and expect to just say you have knowledge and be given the money, which is manna from heaven thinking if you asked me. I mean, how would investors get return on their money if your seed does not germinate and produce fruit?

A smarter person would have used the knowledge you claim to have to get work in a 100 plot fish farm to earn a decent enough wage to save up their own seed money to first rent the things you need until they have earned enough to buy what is needed. But you likely haven't even got a business plan!

Again, harsh, hence apologies.

Hehehe! Nice one! After all Tinubu and all his cohorts in the ACN and APC were staunch advocates of restructuring to regionalism back then. This is one of the reason the refused to attend the 2014 confab, but his first priority was to bastardized the economy then change national anthem. So it would seem it is a generational thing as the oldies yearn for the glorious days of their childhood, while we who were shaped in the military mould, hold on to the things the military gave to us.

If a return to old anthem can be done, then a return to regional governments or better political restructuring can be effected by a democratic government. It is time for democratic Nigeria to shape Nigeria, instead of just living the system the military regimes put in place to usher a return to democracy.

If Tinubu got balls, let him move beyond this mental rejiging of Nigerians and see through with the necessary changes to national life.ACN bloc campaigned all their life about restructuring, it will be the greatest disservice if Tinubu won't complete that restructuring with all the power it seems he wields. Now the time beckons.

The gradual deconstruction of this contraption of an entity is gradually unfolding. Guess Shettima that said "restructuring my foot" will not be angry now? Meanwhile, thought the NASS and the Tinubu led presidency all vehemently denied that there is no plan to return to regional government?

For minimum wage after graduation?

Anyone who accepts minimum wage after graduation did not learn anything, and should go back to school for more education. They also need to realise that the world is big instead of limiting themselves to Nigeria.

Wetin shock me na my Chinese lab mate who says he intends to commence job hunting soon as he is not interested in PhD. I asked why, "Man, I want to start working and earning money. Besides, the salaries for PhD grads in Japan are almost the same as MSc grads".

For most Chinese though, they have plans to return to China after some years here. PhD is highly regarded there and salaries are higher, but the competition is stiff. So, they get PhD here then work experience and later move back home to get higher positions. Well, such was the same for Nigerians during 2007-2014. Most did not even work in the UK after studies and returned to Nigeria immediately. But in 2015, they voted for a cattle rearer because he promised to pight kwarruption. Today, Teeside University dey pursue them upandown for failure to pay school fees!

Each time I remember 2015, I start laughing. Educated people campaigned and voted that calamity called Buhari. As they say, the rest is history

Most people don't understand what gdp by purchasing power parity means. So let me explain.

On 2013, our GDP in Naira terms was #80.3 trillion and at the exchange rate of #157 per USD$ our GDP was $510 billion making us the largest in Africa.

Now our nominal gdp was #234.4 trillion currently and if we still used that exchange rate of 2014 which is #157 =USD$1 then our GDP PPP or 2014 standard will be $1.44 trillion.

BUT that is not the case. Bola Ahmed tinubu floated the Naira and our current exchange rate of #1450 per USD$1 now makes our REAL GDP is now $253 billion.
GDP at purchasing power parity terms really means what we would be by now if we were still using GOODLUCK JONATHAN benchmark and practises
