If you don't want to lose anything if you do factory reset. Then look for stale sat you are not using, delete tps, you can also delete few unused tps from other sats, you will be fine.
Thank you is working perfectly.

Of you do exactly that you won't hit green. When lowering the dish, you need to shift it like one cm to your left while standing at the back. Lnb to be at 9 o'clock, it's little better than 3 o'clock.

ok thanks i will get back to you

Good discovery Chinedu and thanks for letting us know.
Chinedu7:
Useful Info this rainy season:
If you have cband or intend to track for anybody, please remember to rap the cylinder with water proof tape before putting it inside the lnb holder.
Reason: if thunder strikers the dish will now transmit the shock to the lnb. It's a nightmare if it happens to you because it will immediately go through your diseq, scatter the diseq and all the lnbs, then travel down your decoder and snap it to complete it's mission.
Rapping tape won't reduce your signal but you run the risk of damages if you don't take precautions.

From all indications, this package will likely be terrestrial/Internet based. Still don't see how it can be possible on satellite.
You can throw more light on that, I am interested.
yes it will internet based from my investigation, the dish is a mini VSAT and from what I heard the the speed will be of 4.5g it will be. Hbb TV as explained by odilibe. Honestly if this their intention come to fruition then dstv are in trouble, the future is here,it will be recharged the way you recharge your phone wi options of 500, 1000, 2000 and 3000 recharge cards and there is no any special bouquet

.. the image of their the decoder...has explained everything it has wifi support for internet...for terrestrial broadband service etc, basically for interactive TV and catch up programme for viewers to watch the programme they have missed with pause and rewind ability!..they propose to to offer 20gb of data bundle??!! if that is the case it is not OTT service but HBB TV interactive TV....
you get your normal channels via satellite and catch up programmes etc via internet!

I can assure you Bros, with those stations mentioned especially the Sports stations, it's highly unlikely they will offer that if it's satellite based, unless it's Internet based. Those stations have limit where they will transmit on Satellite. And remember someone already bought our Nigerian market.

There is need for more clarification.
I thought so too bro, but when I checked their facebook page isaw that they are saying 5k for decorder and dish, now does internet base TV needs decorder and dish? but to also support your point why are they giving 20gigs of data? With time all will unravel, if the package I saw is true then a lot of Nigerians will port to them when they launch on 25th

Don't take it personal, if you read my post well, I said it's not necessary for small dish users but for installers who install all kinds of sizes of dishes, they need it most. I also said if one has the money then no problems but if not why waste money on gadgets when you can learn well and improve.
I don't have anything in mind against you. This is the first time I wrote on the forum for a long time but I usually follow. I still have responsibility to guide and advise members of this forum like every other oldie does here like Odilibe, Dlee1 and many others who were here and always observe things and contribute when necessary.
My message is simple, those who deal on small dishes shouldn't task themselves for that.
Those who deal on all kinds of sizes of dishes, it's necessary. I don't think I offended you, if I do I would apologize, so do not feel bad unless you have something hidden but I don't think so.
I am not taking it personal, people have satlink meters which they are using, is just that I decided to buy this expensive one for my job now and future ambition, and am really enjoying it, the compass and the angle finder which is the inclinometer is not expensive all that much, I even told people if they cannot afford it they download the compass in their phone that it will help them a lot, my friend why I decided to replied to ur comment was that u said I need more knowledge which of course is true, I am learning every day even here in nairaland.we are all learning no one is an island, that fact is that some of us always want to castigate people that they know more than everybody which is not a good reputation at all. Well am a christian I don't easily pick offence from people, because we all have different characters based on the fact we all are from different background. Well if I have offended u in my speech forgive me we are still together.

Let me understand this mathematics. You are tracking KU band with small dishes and you still complain about not getting the signal you are hunting for, your problem isn't costly tools, it's knowledge, try to learn more.
Frankly speaking, buying tools worth 80k for tracking small dishes is stupid thinking and lazy attitude. With sound knowledge, you actually don't need the tools for installing small dishes.
In Onitsha I personally tracked NigComSat in 5 minutes with 60cm. Once you are knowledgeable enough on satellite installation, no KU band should cost more than 10 minutes on small dishes.
Expensive tools should be for big dishes, 3m and above. Tracking small dishes with ready made tools won't help sharpening your skills, it's like someone who wants to learn how to drive with automatic vehicle, such person will never understand how gear works.
I am not saying that tools aren't good, they make stuff easier but why should someone pay 80k for tools to track multi TV, Champions, NigComSat etc. It's cheer waste in my opinion but if you have the money, fair enough buy them.
well for those who know me well, they can tell of me, I have been into installation business over ten to twelve years, whether tools or no tools I install dish of all kinds I am only just telling u if u want to take installation of satellite dish as a carrier, there is need for u to get the necessary tools to help u track and align ur dish easily, I am not selling tools neither am compelling u to come and buy from me, when I Was in warri delta state I was running a cable business then I was having over 400 people I Supplied cable tv to which they use in their houses, I supplied general hospital warri, Npa, Ijaw quarters, water board and A' Division police barracks, I never hired anybody to come and assist me for any installation, neither will I ever do that, I,did not take installation of satellite dish as a carrier , Am a senior police office still in the service , seeing me here in the Nairaland does not mean i am looking for somebody to give me a job of dish installation ,I am only trying to give out the little idea I have to other who may have not know or have known and still willing to learn the more, my friend since u are a professional installer that does not need any tools before installing a satellite dish , let those who feel they need the tools enhance their prfessionaliism be. Anyway thanks for ur advised and Have a nice day.

You are right to some degree. There are many ways to learn a thing. I can become a pro frm d experience of using those tools. Don't discourage those who chose to follow that route. Besides, acquiring those tools now is definitely good investment. Different strokes 4 different folks y'know.

I still don't understand why most people think that channels surface by default. Do you think Kwese & Megachoice don't know that it's there. It has nothing to do with keeping quiet or shouting about it. No FTA lasts forever, you just have to enjoy it while it lasts. However Kwese has been there on cband with biss, so I don't see what's so special about keeping it secret.
Whats d tp of this kwese,no fta last forever

Remove the signal cable at the back, if it stops then first: check the diseq switch if it's still good, check the lnbs and lastly make sure all your terminals are in other, I mean make sure the outside light cable is nowhere touching the inner copper.
Note: if you remove the signal cable at the back and it's still restarting frequently, then it's likely the signal IC is gone.

Thank you very much

Research has shown that this is easier on specific type of 90cm dish than some. If your 90cm is the old DSTV type then you shouldn't have problems. Again try to use Strong short-neck lnb. With these two combined, you should have trouble nailing both sats.
i used d Blue Dstv type @chinedu and I also v d strong short neck LNB....so, I am gud to go for it?

Do you mean major reprogramming or just fine tuning? Fine tuning is regular occurrence with big jacked dishes especially Comstar Mesh.

Fine tuning. For instance 1:0 west was programmed at number on the positioner. After the rainfall, i get no signal. Then adjust the dish slightly to bring back the signal quality. After this is done, AFN would no longer be on position 9. I would have to save this new adjusted position as number 9.

Same applies to all satellites from 68.5 east to 34 west.

With a single 60cm dish, there aren't much you can get, let alone getting all. For nollywood you need to track 7e, of course you need another dish not less than 90cm and a diseq.
16e central lnb 28e and 7e are possible on single 60cm dish. But on my own setup I have 28e&26e with one lnb and 7e&5e with another lnb with 16e been the primary 5 in 1 60cm setup.

32 inches will be more than enough for the job. The bigger the jack, the slower the movement. I haven't used 42 inches before but considering how slow 32 inches can be at times, 42 inches will be frustrating. The thing is that the power unit which is the positioner has specific match for big jacks. You can as well buy both but the positioner is not always available so you will have to make do with your current positioner and get 32 inches super jack.

Emmachile.

I do observe that after heavy rainfalls and whirlwind, dish do tilt and despite having programmed the positioned, one still get no signal or Audio.

I'll most times have to reprogram.

Do you guys experience that?

That's Lagos though

If it was working fine before then there are few reasons why such thing can happen.

1. The jack could be stiff, needs to be oiled

2. Two of the 4 connecting cables clash

3. It can hang when it reaches it's limit if it's not heavy duty.

4. Low current can also affect the motor strength that moves the jack.

5. It could be that the jack is about to die.

Do your troubleshooting but if you have to replace it better get heavy duty.

Thanks man.

I did oiling, but if it persist, I'll go for heavy duty jack.
But a trusted and experienced pal told me on Friday that there isn't too much difference between our normal popular jack and the heavy duty one.

He mentioned that we have 16 inches, 32 inches and 42 inches. May be the 42 inches would be the option.

I have 3 LNB on it.

Cband 1, no plate for Sony etc
Cband prime focus, for AFN
Ku for 16e etc.

So jack starts from 68.5e and as I type now, it stops at 1.0w for AFN. I'm very unwilling to go beyond 1.0 west until tomorrow.

My team trails Madrid in the UCL and tomorrow is the second leg. After the match, I can give it a try, hence end of season, I can get 42 inches Jack
