Politics / Ohaji Egbema House Of Assembly 2023. Who The Cap Fits !!! by Comroguji(m): 5:40pm On Apr 04, 2022
OHAJI EGBEMA HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY 2023.
WHO THE CAP FITS !!!
Frankly, We have taken a lot of times to assessing the morals, qualities, integrity and antecedents of a possibly emerging house of assembly member, coming from Ohaji Egbema constituency by 2023.
So far, so good, no one is an island and no one knows it better. To this wise, it's imperative to call a spade a spade no matter whose ox is gored but to set the record straight for the sake of emphasis and for the good people of Ohaji Egbema to be sincerely connected with the truth.
Meanwhile, In a view of getting it right again for the first time after the outstanding eras of Chief Goddy Esom Obodo PhD and Rt Hon Goodluck Nana Opiah at the Imo state house of assembly.
It's no more news that in few months, there'll be lobbying, struggles and conducting of primary elections to select or elect the best candidate for prestigious position in our constituency.
Without mincing words cum seeking for a responsibly popular and consensus candidate who has tirelessly served and worked hard for the progress the government of the day, defending the interest of Ohaji Egbema as a progressively vibrant youth, peharps standing out in all his endeavors, We are glad to present a charismatic and courageous young man, Hon Desmond Ajuruchi, all known as, Odogwu Deka.
The Ohoba Ohaji Egbema born politician is a team player, generous, selfless, boldly sincere, intelligently effective which are good for legislative activities.
Make no mistakes in Ohaji Egbema by regrettably fielding a Siddon-Dey-Look in this new era of legislative engagements.
History would have it that one of the most impressive antecedents of Hon Desmond Ajuruchi, Odogwu Deka is that he's trustworthy and not a pretender. He was amongst the few diehards, the last men standing for Gov Hope Uzodinma during the (court cases) at the time most people never believed and thought of actualizing the dream of 3R government of shared prosperity.
Indeed, there must be a reward for labor as we expect a robust reward system to such a wonderful Ohaji Egbema son.
Odogwu Deka as popularly known is no doubt a household name in Ohaji Egbema and In Imo state respectively.
He is urbane and man of the people, clearly good for legislative business.
It's on this note, we are calling all the spiritual and socio-political leaders, stakeholders, opinion molders friends and well wishers of Ohaji Egbema to join hands in supporting the movement.
VOTE ODOGWU DEKA FOR HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY, "RESTORATION 2023"
From Friends Of Odogwu Deka,
I'm Yours Sincerely

ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT AND THE INNOSON OPPORTUNITY
The landmark progress made by Innoson motors should act as a catalyst and road map to kickstart and encourage industrialization in our dear state. It should attract government attention and support for entrepreneurship in Anambra state in particular and southeast in general.
Chief innocent Chukwuma by some sheer entrepreneurial wizardry and innovative push has done what everyone thought was impossible before now .Like play, like play he established the first and only privately owned vehicle assembly plant indigenous to Nigeria in particular and Africa as a whole.Even the whole world have since taken notice of this incredible feat,CNN,Aljazeera,BBC,et al have all been to Nnewi to “confirm” the rumored vehicle plant as a “reality “Innoson deserves state and institutional support.

Anambra state government should be in the forefront of marketing Innoson brand, this should be the new face of Anambra technological advancement, innovation and progress........southeast governors should also key into this technological advancement, but,as the igbos say “onye ana eduje ogu na ebu uzo” .Anambra state government should lead this marketing onslaught .All official vehicles should be Innoson ,intact,Gov Soludo should include Chief Chukwuma in his entourage for any future investors-seeking trips ,just as federal government moves around with Dangote........we cannot blame others for low patronage when our government is guilty of same ........
Gov Soludo has started very well by using Innoson vehicle as official car.He could even commission Innoson to make more specialized security cars for his use .
Innoson has put Anambra on the economic, political and social map of the world through a successful investment and employment of citizens, the job of every government is to provide needed social stability and security through employment generation,Innoson has done this.By helping keep Innoson in business,Anambra stands to gain a lot, just like Tata did in India and eventually brought affordable cars and other household accessories to every household in India,Anambra can help her indigent citizens “afford” Innoson ,l bet you that if Innoson was dangote,Kano state civil service and even the whole northern civil service will all officially use dangote cars .......this is the way development happens ,let’s not miss this opportunity.

Anambra should help Innoson sale it’s vehicles and should do so proudly, this is the original “nkea bu nke anyi “,it should even pay Innoson “advert” fees to include an inscription “proudly made in Anambra “ on each vehicle made and sold by Innoson.......by “sharing” in Innoson success,an impression that Anambra is a business land of milk and honey would have been established beyond doubt. This is how it works in every serious economy that wants to progress ,Nnewi merits an economic and industrial hub status,Anambra government in particular and southeast governments in general should be interested in clusters like Nnewi,Aba,Onitsha,et al.......through provision of infrastructure .........this requires leadership.....

Many years ago, president Clinton as US president flew to Japan to meet and beg the aging 89 year old owner of Sanyo electronics to reverse his company’s decision to close its factories in USA because of poor patronage and sales ,the adamant Sanyo owner refused to bulge even after Clinton offer tax rebates and incentives, president Clinton ,in a typical godfather mien then made an irresistible proposal, offering to help Sanyo sell its products all over America by getting Walmart (America biggest retail outlet then ) to display Sanyo products in all their outlets ,a deal was sealed and 10,500 jobs was saved for the American economy......

Our problem in Nigeria appears to be the monthly Abuja oil money ,most governors don’t care whether businesses thrive or not in their states because government is run independent of employment generated taxes ........the prices of Innoson cars will crash when it is deliberately “assisted” to remain in business .....southeast governors should even buy Innoson vehicles and dash or donate out........Anambra should lead this charge by “donating “ Innoson vehicles to sister southeast states whenever the need arises on “humanitarian grounds “.All the “foreign aid” we hear about do not always ever come in “cash”,America gets it manufacturers to produce needed goods, pay them ,tax them and then ship the goods to assisted countries, including weapons, that’s how American jobs are created ,saved and maintained..........

INNOSON is our heritage, the pride of south-easterners and the original “nkea bu nke anyi”,let’s preserve our heritage!!!
Finally,Gov Soludo, should be interested in "developing" Nnewi in an expansive manner that would attract more investors to the town. There should be a deliberate plan to build new cities,Anambra is also ripe to start having dual carriage roads.

This should be our opportunity for a new beginning.

Politics / Re: Wike: Police DPO In Rumuji Owns An Illegal Refinery In Rivers by Idiko1: 2:54pm On Jan 15, 2022
Minjim:

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the 23 local government chairmen to provide a comprehensive list of illegal refineries and their operators within their jurisdiction.

Wike gave the ultimatum at a meeting with the council chairmen and heads of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air force, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Police, the Directorate of State Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps at Government House on Friday.

The governor challenged the council chairmen to prove they were not complicit in the noxious business that had continued to threaten the health of Rivers people and the national economy.

The governor stated that as a responsible government, it would be unwise for them to fold their hands and do nothing to safeguard residents of the state from the death forced upon them by criminally-minded operators of artisanal refineries.

Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Kelvin Ebiri, stated this in a statement released to journalists in Port Harcourt.

“Now, every council chairman must go and identify where illegal refineries are taking place. If you identify one, you get N2m. So, go and identify as many as you can.
“I will pay N2m for each one. And I am going to fight against this. Our people are dying and we owe our people the responsibility to protect them, to save them from death they never caused.

“So, you must, and you’re given 48 hours to go and identify all illegal refineries sites, and those who are in charge of them,” Wike stated.

The governor emphasised that any of the council chairmen who was afraid to join in the fight against the criminals operating the illegal refineries should be ready to resign.

Wike, however, frowned on security agencies for the role some of their personnel had played in aiding and providing cover for the operators of the illegal refineries in the state.
The governor urged the State Police Commissioner, Eboka Friday, to redeploy out of the state a particular DPO in Emohua Local Government Area operating an illegal refinery in the area.

“It’s unfortunate for this country how security people will be involved in illegal bunkering. I can’t believe it. Mr. CP, I thank you for transferring the DPO in Rumuji, who owns a refinery. But the man must leave here, not transferred. He must leave this state.

“I can’t be governor here and security man owns an illegal refinery. No, it is not possible…the man has to go. Take him to wherever they allow bunkering,” Wuke stated.

Governor Wike directed the CP to immediately arrest Chief W. J. Wocha, Fubara Ohaka, and chief Promise ezekwe, who have been fingered for operating illegal refineries deep inside the forest of Ibaa community in Emohua Local Government Area.

The governor further urged Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Rivers State command, to immediately transfer its personnel in charge of vandalization of pipelines in the State.

“Transfer the man, and tell him to leave. He is a complete saboteur. I mean, how can security men be the one involved in this. What kind of country are we?”

the Police done a good job by arresting this miscreants disturbing peace of the public burden on kidnapping and killing people, However there’s one simple question I want to ask the news agency and bloggers: Why is it that whenever you’re posting news from the Eastern part of the country you always attached a video and pictures with good graphics but when it’s from the North you post a mere written articles? Without any good evidence like this?

I write this letter with a very heavy heart. For some time now I have watched events in Nigeria with alarm and dismay. I have watched particularly the chaos in my own state of Anambra where a small clique of renegades, openly boasting its connections in high places, seems determined to turn my homeland into a bankrupt and lawless fiefdom. I am appalled by the brazenness of this clique and the silence, if not connivance, of the Presidency.

THE above is from a letter Chinua Achebe wrote to President Obasanjo on October 15, 2004, rejecting his nomination for national honours on the grounds that under the President’s watch Anambra State had become a political gangland. Anambra State is once more sitting precariously on the horn of a dilemma. The gubernatorial election is slated for November 6, 2021.

There are over a dozen candidates, which, comparatively speaking is merciful. Ordinarily there should be more than 200 candidates, something close to the scenario of a church with more pastors than the congregation. There is a matter of primary concern. Where are the election materials to be stored?

The Awka branch of the Central Bank has vaults spacious enough to store all the materials necessary for the election. The place was previously used to store such election materials. Why might it not be used this time around? INEC says the election materials would, instead, be stored in Owerri, Imo State. Why?

From Enugu to Awka is 72.9 kilometres (coverable in one hour 30 minutes). Asaba, Delta State, is 65.5 kilometres from Awka (coverable in one hour 21 minutes). Why is neither state capital an option for storing voting materials?

Owerri in Imo State is 119.3 kilometres from Awka (coverable in two hours 12 minutes). Please bear in mind that the times specified for reaching Awka from any of the three state capitals are for ideal conditions.

Terrible Federal roads sometimes make journeys of two hours last longer than two days. Therefore, could INEC’s illogical decision to store voting materials in Owerri be because, logistically, it will favour those prejudiced enough to want to corrupt the outcome of November 6 ballot?

Now, take a look at the candidates. It is not rocket science to fathom that Chukwuma Charles Soludo is the quintessential candidate, the best prepared and by far the most exposed to direct with passion and vision the affairs of Anambra State.

Academically, Soludo attained his professorship in the 10th year of his lectureship. As a technocrat he has advised unilateral and multilateral institutions and financial organisations, including the African Union and the World Bank, to resoundingly successful effect.

He acquitted himself creditably both as Economic Adviser to the Federal Government of Nigeria and as the Governor of the Central Bank. To Soludo’s eternal credit, the consolidation of Nigeria’s banking sector took place under his watch.

His setting in 2005 of N25 billion as the minimum capital base for any bank reduced the number of banks from an unwieldy 89 to 24 viable financial houses that enhanced the national economy.

Unfortunately, Soludo has as fellow contestants some of those that turned Anambra State into a lawless fiefdom in 2004, folks that journeyed to the United States and stayed there for decades but came back home without as much as the academic equivalent of the Ordinary National Diploma.

People who incinerated the Government House in Awka, the Ikenga Hotel in Awka, the INEC offices in Awka, blokes that abducted a sitting governor and went scandalously unpunished are back 17 years after their villainy, wrapped in the effrontery and temerity to glibly declare the intention of governing Anambra State, a state that sired the likes of Nnamdi Azikiwe, Alex Ekwueme, Dora Akunyili, Mokwugo Okoye, Kenneth Onwuka Dike, Roy Umenyi, Pius Okigbo, Modilim Achufusi, Francis Cardianl Arinze, Cyprian Michael Iwene Tansi, Emmanuel Okala, Godfrey ezekwe, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Charles Nnolim, G. C. M. Onyiuke, and thousands more.

The proposition swallows response, being innately and irreversibly sacrilegious. In the Igbo country, only those not completely together upstairs would abandon the panoply and sumptuous dishes of an Ozo title-taking ceremony for a ritual in propitiation of Agwu – the god of recklessness – that is performed with the sacrificial lame or blind chick.

Has Anambra’s imposed orphanage hit such a dismal nadir that it is being trumpeted from alien rooftops that it must be led by someone whose school certificate the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, pronounced forged, who in the not too distant past arrived an American port of entry to the charge of currency offences, and whose sole distinction as a federal lawmaker is record-setting victories in sleeping matches inside the chambers?

There are things you tell a woman with the strident warning that her husband must never get an inkling of it. Ndi Anambra are today being subjected to moonlight tales regarding the wisdom in switching political parties at the drop of a needle.

If a woman plundered the national treasury and is called upon to hold herself accountable for corruption, yes, she could hop into the party of the centre where mere membership exculpates even the most heinous of atrocities. If a man expected appointment to high political office or election to the National Assembly but drew blank on both scores, he could plunge into the party of the centre where the sheer acquisition of membership card could translate into the diversion of crumbs from the national purse to his pockets.

But neither the women nor the men primed by the impetus of personal aggrandisement should presume to cajole the APGA faithful into partaking in their non-altruistic gambits. The party of the centre has nothing to offer Ndi Anambra and Ndigbo as a whole, being the flank trying to imprint on our scandalised senses the obnoxious lesson that a cow’s life is more valuable than that of a human being. Jesus, the Christ said in Matthew 7: 15-16: “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

You will recognise them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?” The old woman said that she had had such an extended experience with “the long thing” that it no longer could be used to frighten her. We have known their spite, their deceit, their treachery and their double standards over millennia for them to now habour in their mind the illusion that they can bamboozle us.

Look at Zamfara State. Look at Kaduna State. Look at Katsina State. Look at Bornu State. These kidnappers’ enclaves are all of the party of the centre. They all are in tatters, festering with social dislocation and dripping with the blood of the innocent.

Closer to home, look carefully at Imo State. It teamed up with the party of the centre on the strength of a Supreme Court verdict that will forever remain a testament to infamy and gross injustice.

“His Supremacy,” the state governor, notoriously spends four fifths of his time in Abuja, leaving the people bereft of hope, the pensioners unpaid in 12 months and counting. Imo State is definitely not the argument to advance for Ndi Anambra to auction APGA and mortgage their future.
And there is something fundamental to be said about APGA.

When the politics of the Second Republic commenced, Dr. Azikiwe wisely joined the Nigeria Peoples Party and, thus, gave Ndigbo a voice in national politics, the NPP controlling old Anambra, old Imo and old Plateau states, even forming a coalition government at the Federal level.

APGA had known faces in the process of its registration. But the unseen hands that forged it were largely members of the PDP, including Dr. Chuba Okadigbo. They did it on the imperative of Ndigbo having a voice in national politics. A prominent PDP chieftain donated the first APGA secretariat in Abuja.

APGA has been the most enduring political party in the South East geopolitical zone.

Unfortunately, its electoral fortunes have, every so often, been violently vitiated by the manipulations of election riggers. It won Imo in 2011 only for Rochas Okorocha to donate the electoral mandate, hook, line and sinker, to the APC.

Thereafter, he left the state in wrack and ruin, a sellout that Hope Uzodinma is today single-mindedly sustaining. Ndi Anambra can never be persuaded to join the macabre dance of the Party of the Centre. But if their state is yanked from them by Federal might, Ndigbo will have lost their last voice in Nigeria for the foreseeable future.

Common sense makes it the case that, if there are problems in APGA, as there are in all political parties the world over, the sane measure to take is to sit down around a table and fix them, not to career from one counterproductive party to another like an anchorless ship.

Those APGA members that have recently jumped ship for instant dividends will eventually end up like fish out of water. On the day of reckoning, they would be ordered to find their level. Who does not know that there are prominent Ndigbo in the PDP and the APC today?

Who does not also know that their vaunted prominence notwithstanding, none of them, including the nosier noisemakers of the lot, ever earned a ticket to caucuses where important decisions were taken?

To jettison APGA and align with parties and characters that brand you a dot in a circle despite your numbering in the millions, that consider you a nonentity, that place the cow ahead of you in ranking, is like a dive into effluent. It is an unconscionable leap in the dark that is fraught with uncountable dangers. It is a choice for which Ndigbo have given a resounding answer: NO!

It leaves us with one more word – on Governor Willie Obiano. The man has his critics. He has, as a matter of course, always taken criticisms of his administration in good faith. I do not mistake him for a perfect man.

He never garlanded his head with a saint’s hallow. But the gracious adjective suits him nicely. His legacy in Anambra will remain imperishable. We had an international airport in Uli that survived the civil war. Central politicians scraped it out of spite. It took 51 years for Anambra to have another airport, the one at Umueri that Obiano built.

He gave Anambra an international conference centre. He gave us the longest bridge in the state. He has helped more than all previous governors to transform Awka’s provincialism into a thriving metropolis.

He has always and promptly paid salaries and pensions, unlike what obtains in many states whose umbilical cords are tied to the Party of Centre, including Imo, where unpaid salaries and perquisites have since blown all computation metres to smithereens.

Governor Willie Obiano made Anambra the safest state in Nigeria, to the point that neighbouring states hit by virulent and violent criminality invariably ran to him for assistance in combatting the renegades and nonconformists. Then the era of “unknown gunmen” materialised, something decidedly not home grown. Still, Anambra State holds its head high, thanks to Obiano’s steady hands at he controls.

I am confident that it will be a seamless hand over of power from Chief Obiano to Professor Soludo, and a continuation of the continuous business of good governance – if the Party of the Centre allows the voice of the people to matter in the ballot of November 6, 2021.

Literature / A Certain Kind Of Deafening Pain: A Review Of October Blues By Obiageli Ilosiaka by tonyluyi1985: 11:19am On Jul 09, 2021
There is one special thing about water - it is formless. It assumes and takes the shape of an object you pour it into and once you remove it from a particular object and pours it into another, it immediately take the shape of the current object. Hence a chameleon comes in this form too because it takes to the colour of the environment it found itself at a given time. Naturally, its adaptability to different environments helps it escapes many dangers, preys and many other things that should have harmed it. However, this is the same trait with some writers out there. They in their uniqueness can fit in into many places, situations, conditions, environments, problems and spheres. They know how to handle each character in their work. The crisis of that character, and how to keep up with the climax of a story and all that within a little time or no time at all. Therefore, in their own wisdom, they know when to move, hide, act quickly or remain normal in a given situation. However, one of such Writers is Obiageli Iloakasia, a special kind of thinker.

Obiageli knows how to come into different forms and take different shapes in different environments to make sure she delivers to her readers or rather her audience in such a way that keep her words in their imaginative eyes and, her words remain with her readers relatably. Echoing from Suzy Kassem in "Rise up and Salute the Sun: the writing of Suzy Kassem" — Humility is a virtue of the heavenly, not arrogance. Are we the most superior beast on earth? No, not in strength and not in intelligence. It is very arrogant to assume that we are the most intelligent species when we keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again. Both rats and monkeys have been shown to learn from error, yet we have not. More people have died in the name of religion than any other cause on earth..." Obiageli' works are a replicate of humility, Society, persistence and hope. She tends to imitate what's happening in her environment and tell a story from it. She represents the girl in the street, the boy on a bicycle heading home, the mother with a basket of pawpaw on her head and a baby on her back. She represents those massacred by the Nigerian Police; she represents those killed and those Innocent ones taken to prison wrongly. She represents home and the church, a mother and a father. She represents those abused, those frustrated, those rejected and those Innocent bodies littered here and there in Nigeria cemeteries and nobody cares about them.

"...two weeks ago,
death deferred its will to flesh
and whisked my brother away.
men draped in night hues abducted
and murdered him.
before he died,
he beckoned to me but we were worlds apart...

in no time, news of my brother faded
into thin air, and his remains was denied us."

Obiageli, indeed, is an eye that watches when others are asleep. Through her book, she tends to mimic the society and speak against her evil ways towards her citizens. One can call her an observer but no, she is an amazing student of Life, a sailor who knows where her ship is headed. Very often have I told myself many times, that the only way to correct the ills of the society is by writing and acting against them and in so doing, we are documenting lives and evils done to us and those we did to ourselves, telling the generation to come that there were things that happened before they came and they should not go back to them rather they should make their own mistake and retrace their steps so that the ones coming after them will not make same mistake they have made.

Obiageli Iloakasia knows what is at stake and has taken a mantle of Albert Einstein' words when he said "One should guard against Preaching to young people success in the customary form as the aim in life. The most important motive for work in school and in life is pleasure in work, pleasure in its result, and the knowledge of value of the result to the community" One of man's biggest deals is his ego. In this vein, Men in their nature can forgive almost anything that comes their way but some men, when they are threatened, dared or openly provoked with taunting that makes them feel harmed, bruised in their ego, you'll get a different man. Here, there is a different Ilosiakasia in anger. There is a different perspective of Ilosiakasia who is provoked and bruised and she fiercely inanes this anger in every of her line. "...In October, 2020, we were convinced that we were doing nothing but hunting shadows..." Speaking against religion bigotry, favoritism, nepotism, banditry, religion massacre, and young dreams that died at the moment they are seen, born or conceived in Nigeria in tears.

"...today,
we are 60 years old
still, we wonder thoughtlessly in the cold.

foes dance in celebration.
friends die from intimidation.

we want to know what it means to dream
and how it feels
to have the Nigerian dream redeemed.

after today,
songs will cease and our clothes
will flutter in the breeze.

we did not choose this life
if we ever get another chance
may it feel like an emerald paradise."

She was deliberate with her delivery and installation of every word. Angered by what she sees every day but she made sure that there's a way that this angered words give pleasure to our ears or eyes. She in her mindfulness emphasizes the fact that it is not necessary to kill a hungry boy whose only means of survive was to steal from those that have many and could not share the many they have but allows it to get spoilt, then, throws it away when there are many people who need the food to live. You don't kill a hungry boy.

"they traded his body for a pot of beans.
now, we wallow at dawn and dusk searching for what we might never find."

The book October Blues, 143 pages, published by Libretto publishers; 2021, is divided into four sections in such a way that it helps to give the reader a very key mindset to understand every aspect of the book easily. Section one of the book which is titled — October 2020 — has about 31 poems in it. This part of the book is key to Nigeria history. October 1, 1960, was when Nigeria gained its independence from Great Britain hence this section opens up with a poem that talks about the Anniversary of Nigeria. "...today, we are 60 years old still, we wonder thoughtlessly in the cold./foes dance in celebration/friends die from intimidation..." The poet personae wonders what the country has achieved for the past sixty years as she went on to mourn what has become of her after the colonial masters left her shore. Yet, the section didn't stop there. It went ahead to discuss about the happenings of 2020 from the COVID—19 to the end SARS protest and the Lekki tollgate Massacre which happened on the 20 October, 2020. "...that morning,/ I woke up to an empty home in ashes./ doubts and confusion became contraptions/ I struggled to unfold/for our home of peace was no longer a single fold..."

"...Ah!
our home has been set on fire.
No!
no one is talking about peace but war.
Yes!
every victory starts with conflict.
Ewo!
our whole land is stain..."

"...even till now,
the authorities have not asked
what our demands are.
they have not looked our way..."

...today is the 20thday of October,
the 17th day since we started our songs
for freedom.

like every other day,
we have struggled to stay alive.
some of my brothers have died;
some of my sisters have died, too..."

The essence of this outpour of tears is that, regardless of what happens, that no man, not even an enemy deserve to be humiliated in public yet Nigeria has humiliated us in many ways and this humiliation has made many of us think that we are worth nothing but fools, wanderers like our Leaders have made us to look. That is why you see many Nigerians ready to leave this country every day because the land has no future for them and many of them have resulted to fraudsters and we are still battling to contain this in our society.

However, the section two of the book titled INTIMIDATION, is further divided into three parts or levels which are— Knowledge before 1960, Knowledge after 1960, National Pledge. With the total number of 39 poems, this section clearly presents to us the totality of what our country, Nigeria is from the day of its amalgamation to its independence and currently, where we are right now. The poems were all inspired by the first Nigeria national anthem as emphasized by the poet personae. Here, we see a different anger tailored in asking why our land is still the way it is till now. Why the hope we all aspired isnt coming to us. There are many questions people are asking which nobody have been bold enough to answer them. "...our own dear native land, /why do you not have lands to build on?/ on which soil would I tell the world, that you ruined the life of your child.

In the section three of the book which has 20 poems in total is titled TRIBUTE. It is a section dedicated to those who died in this chaotic country. "...For our brothers and sisters who died as victims of a failed system...". It is not surprising that many Nigerians have died because power failure. Many of them have died because of Doctors strike. Many of them have died because of lack of medical facilities. This is a section for those who were massacred either by the police or the bandit or the SARS or the Leaders themselves or by Hunger or by Boko Haram or by the people around them — Neighbours. The names mentioned are names that echo when we remember how they died. Sometimes when we remember them, we'll go naked to curse the sun or the leaders who see all that is happening but make no move or effort to stop them. This is for Ayomide Taiwo, For Tina ezekwe, for Tiamiyu Kazeem, for Chibuike Anams and many others who died leaving us broken "...In my country/ you have no identity other than the one forced upon you. /this was your fate, and the pain lingers on/.

"...today is not a good day
for the sun to shine.
the sadness in my heart flows
like a river of tears,
and the pain numbs my senses..."

Furthermore, in the last section— RUMINATION — 36 poems, Obiageli observes that "...The typical Nigerian’s life is full of intricate realities; complex ideas, unanswered questions and in between feelings..." This is where her reality comes in. The emotional aspect of being a writer born and bred in Nigeria comes in. She writes "...when night comes and the world goes to rest/a pen and paper comes knocking and calls me friend/ write your pain away and the pain of the world they tell me/ but when you write, make sure you point no accusing fingers.." This is for a writer seeking balance, for a writer who is vulnerable and must listen to her muse X-raying her being. It is for the totality of her being. This is where the emotion of this book comes in and "... now, you must find away to let the world read this/ you must speak of the truth you see/ this is your heritage and your call for life/ through this will our stories be preserved/put down things that should be said and do not hold back truth from your lips/ tell tales that should be told but when you write/ make sure you point no accusing fingers..." This is the only way we could recreate and balance what have been created. Writers are wings, they fly with words to many places their feet may never step on till they die. Writers such as Obiageli are winds. They blow to the West, East, South and North amending things which were once destroyed.

This is a book that takes you back and forth with vivid imagination of what Nigeria has become or has done to us as Citizens. Historical, this is the first time different tribes in Nigeria — Yoruba, Igbo and Niger-delta are coming out to say they need to govern themselves, they want to break out from Nigeria because the doctrines of a failed system has gotten into their throats and they can't swallow it anymore. Hence I'll call Obiageli Iloakasia a kin observer or rather a prophetess because she was able to take us back to history and then bring us to the present and the future looks at us beautifully from her imagination. She is bold enough to handle what may seem like a treasure to the next generation in a different manner.
