In America you don’t even have to pay it off to rent it out. Take it from someone who has rental properties. The tenants pay me and I pay the bank and pocket the difference. People will pay more for rent because they can’t afford the initial down payment to own yet but you that’s owning will end up paying less and charging them more for the rent. It’s most definitely cheaper in the long run to be an owner versus a renter I don’t know why anyone who really knows what they are talking about will want to discourage someone from buying a house because of mortgage. Unless they are enemies of progress. If they really know what’s up and they are still saying that, I’ll just take it that they don’t want anyone but themselves to succeed. An older lady in my life just got rid of one of her properties that she got years and years ago when they first came here and the equity on it was more than enough for a sprawling magnificent compound with multiple properties in their hometown in Nigeria. Imagine if she had decided to rent for all those years because Mr Digmygold thinks she needs to wait until she has millions of dollars in her account first. She would have been paying rent and trying to save on the side for her project. When she could just pay it into a house she owns and the money is still hers whenever she’s ready to let the house go. Something a renter can’t do. People really just be saying anything on this forum SIRTee15: 1 Like |

UnfairLife7: I have never seen a positive one. Maybe they exist, but I have never seen. My husband is still the head of the family. He is in charge and takes decisions concerning our family and the kids. That is our culture and I respect that. But he respects me enough not to treat me like I am insignificant. Osinachi is a victim of the Nigerian culture that makes women believe without a husband they are nothing. Me I would have remained single if I didn’t meet the kind of man I wanted. That’s how serious I was about my freedom. You think your so called friend marrying a Canadian makes her free of abuse? Look at what that lady dancer’s husband is putting her through, and she’s a celebrity oh. Imagine if she were poor!!! Have you not see Nigerian men marrying white women behaving properly? But when they marry us they try to misbehave. You cannot deny that women always have to have some kind of advantage if they want to be relevant in their marriages. This is why I had my kids in the states. Most women will walk away from their marriages if they could afford to. The joy comes is knowing you can walk if you have to, but choosing to stay out of love and mutual respect. |

UjuJoan2:you've seen all negative thing about women marrying rich man but you've never seen a positive one? I'm glad i share the goodness of one of the numerous positive ones that exist. The fact that you have your own money even as a lady doesn't stop a wicked man from maltreating you, expecially if you guys live in Nigeria. Osinachi was a clear case study. There are tons of women earning their income even before they met their husbands but the men are thorn in their flesh. You think those marrying rich or comfortable guys are so foolish like they can accept just anything all because he has money? No they don't. There are other character they look out in those men before accepting. Some will never date you not to talk of marrying you if you're into cyber fraud popularly known as Yahoo Yahoo or if your source of income isn't genuine. Unless your daughters will live and marry in saner clines where MEN generally behave normal then they're free from any form of abuse from their spouses but if they live and marry in Nigeria, even if they're the ones bankrolling the man, they can still be maltreating them. The system in Nigeria give us some sort of leverage and veto power over women. We believed we're the head so we have the final say. So if you think a man cannot treat you like shit because you're bankrolling him or because you're a super woman then let me assume you don't know we men. Poor or not poor some men are naturally inhumane. Rich or not rich some men are naturally kind The most important thing is that the lady from poor home who got married to a Canadian man is happy. She's living happily with her lovely kids and husband. I believe your view doesn't hold water as far as she's concern. She's a super woman. |

They said it was “Miracles Centre” that gave Anambra the number 1 position in WAEC & NECO, so what do you say about this? This is the official medals chart of the 2023 National Schools Mathematics Championship. Remember the state was 26th with no solid framework pre Peter Obi. Let’s talk about solid legacies not agberos.

WhiteWood: U don't know what U talking about and I doubt I own property anywhere not to talk of western country. Where did U get the info U need to pay 80% of your loan b4 the house can be yours...who told U that? If it's help to buy, once you pay off your equity loan, U can rent the property out and pocket the profit off the rent. I know people whose mortgage is 600 pounds and they rent their house for 1,300 pounds. Sot down there and be doing bad belle. They are just 5 yrs into their mortgage payment I know people who bought houses in London for 60k in early 2000s, today those property are over 300k. Which yeye inflation wants to devalue such appreciation. Pls if U can enter the property market, do so fast. U are already in western country so do as they do. Drop all those your naija mentality and learn the game here. 2 Likes |

Eriokanmi: You're not refuting my point. They prefer to buy outrightly because they don't have an option not to. Nigeria is still a cash economy they can't be trusted to pay back. When Nigerians travel, they mainly travel to hustle they hardly travel for holidays because they're still in survival mode. Only the rich travel for holidays, the average nigerian doesn't. 2 Likes 1 Share |

hopexter: Nothing like that…didn’t you see he couldn’t find work as an engineer and had to take a job in a store. The humiliation and frustration alone… I blame lack of exposure..cos Nigeria is quite unique in terms of engineer engagement. many western countries engineering graduates struggle to find work and have to relocate to Dubai or somewhere. talk less of an immigrant from an aspirational background. Too much disappointment plus stress…mixed with jealousy cos those care workers can earn quite a lot… I wish he’d have prepared his mind for the kind of demeaning work he’d have to do over there instead of pouring his frustrations on the lady.. 2 Likes |

I don't support giving people ENTRY and EXIT price and the reason is because Mr A can exit at 10% movement and take home N15million profit.....While Mr B will be hoping for 100% movement to get N500,000 profit. Now if Mr A gave Mr B his ENTRY and EXIT price, Mr B may feel scammed and start calling MR A a monkeyhunter. 1 Like |

That's tragic, I often wonder why couples can't just sit down and talk things out. If things get that bad, I'd just walk away, imagine serving life imprisonment and losing your child and wife. Omo that mental issue go increase by now. Men walk away, emotional intelligence is key |

There's money in Nigeria for Nigerians to tour with. I remember a day i went to pick my passport at the DHL office , isolo which was dispatched by the usa embassy after a drop box application. Na that time I know say naija dey travel...no parking space that day. Most of the houses located in the eyebrow areas of our main cities were built outrightly. Our people no like gbese oo. They see it as a taboo lol. You sef know this Who even goes to bank for loans to buy car? Which bank dey grant loan even with all the requirements being met? Nigerians prefer to buy outrightly. I was encouraging my friend who lives abroad recently to go and get my type of floor tiles. Guess what he said...na big man you be nah, na big man dey do that kain tiles oo. Tell me how many Nigerians live on mortgage? Mortgage that's not even there? FYI, my passport ( speaking for myself) doesn't restrict me oo and I'm not tired of applying for visa which i always get with ease. |

UnfairLife7: I will NEVER encourage my daughters to date for money. The difference is that they can walk away when they get treated badly. Money gives you a voice. You think the fact that a guy married a woman and took her out of poverty is some kind of victory? She should go ahead and marry the man and face whatever abuse he will definitely give her. I’ve seen women married to wealthy men without a penny to their name. I’ve seen a man give the maid money for upkeep because he doesn’t want the wife to get carried away with money. I’ve see a man buy special foodstuffs for himself and separate ones for the wife. The other day a lady posted about how her husband would buy chicken and eat alone and let them go hungry. Imagine the humiliation? When God has given you all it takes to take care of yourself!!! Only a man will talk the way you are talking, because you know what you stand to gain by having a wife who depends on you for every single thing. Then you can have complete control over here and be free to treat her like a slave. Only poor people think marriage is a way out of poverty, and that is why they are poor. I can’t even imagine how degrading it will be for a woman to depend on a man for everything!!! I have never done it and my daughters will never do it. 1 Like |
