Dude, do your research. Hinduism is older than Buddhism. Hinduism believes in reincarnation and karma. Also, for your information, reincarnation and karma were already believed in India before Gautama Buddha was born.

Dude, the Igbo before Christianity believed in reincarnation. Up-till today, non-Christian or traditional Igbos still believe it. I am Igbo. Go and ask any Igbo person you know. In my village, when a child is born they will perform a ritual called igba agu from which they will tell who the child is, IE who has reincarnated as the child. They still do it today. This is not a claim. It is still practiced today by Igbo pagans. Tell me that they stole if from Buddhism.

Actually you told me you read Lampa's books. I read one of his books a long time ago. He was grousing, in a darling sort of way, about the thousands who write him and don't include postage. He was adorable, but the book seemed to be about his cat. Are his books extensive philosophical treatises? Which books on Buddism and Hinduism have you read exactly? Lampa may have written books, but he isn't the founder or originator of the ideas on Buddism. His books are the equivalent, for Christians, of Adeboye or Jakes or Creeflo or Meyer Hagin's books; they're adherents of the religion, but they aren't its founders nor do they invent its philosophy. I may have been too young to understand his books though.

Are you implying I'm saying Grail copied and pasted from Buddism textbooks or what? His book can't be a mirror image of Buddist doctrines, can it? I've told you exactly what ideas the book copied and tweaked. And a note on an unimportant detail; Not all schools of thought on Buddism think alike; like any other religion they have doctrinal differences; There are Buddhist sects that do eat meat. There's an interesting chapter in Magic and Mystery in Tibet where the author, a French scholar who brings a refreshing rationality to Tibetan Buddism, describes how she (she became a lama) created a being using just her thoughts. Yes, Lamas can do that. It took her several months. She stayed secluded and pictured a fat jolly monk in her mind until the creature appeared. And then she left seclusion and it followed her. Not only could she touch and feel its body,other people could see it. A servant bringing her tea asked if the monk with her would like some tea too. And people greeted him when they went out together. He came from her thoughts! She admits she couldn't control it, that it had a volition of its own, her creation. It would stop, look at where it was going, examine the distance,etc. Something very interesting happens. When she created him, she gave him full cheeks and a jolly face. But after a few months the face changed, became lean. She said his eyes grew mocking and malignant. Which gives me plenty of clues as to what happened there exactly. That's how advanced Tibetan Buddhists are in using thought forms. And Magic and Mystery in Tibet is an account of the woman's expericnes in Tibet in 1924!
Methinks you should stop wanting me to draw Buddist parallels with ecery single unimportant detail in Grail. Its major ideas are borrowed from various Buddhist philosophies, and 'Christianity' is modified to fit into that.

Everything that you wrote here and in the upper post is completely wrong.
First, reincarnation and karma are not trademark of Buddhism. These ideas(as you called them) have been known by various peoples for thousands of years before budism came into existence. The ancient Igbos believed in reincarnation and karma. Now tell me, did they get the idea from budism?
The ancient Egyptians, the ancient mayans, the Incas, and even some of the ancient Jews. Now I guess they all got it from budism.
Point of correction, reincarnation and karma are not mare ideas but reality almost in all religions of the world. These doctrines are the bedrock of most religions even if thy are not called reincation or karma; or even if they have slight variations. Did not the bible say that "you must reap what you sow." Now tell me is this not karma?
All religions of the world have basic ideas that are the the same, even a child knows this. But since you claimed its not so, I will give you examples:
(1) Monotheism --Both Christains, Jews and Muslim hold this view.
(2) Reward for goodness. (Strive to be good)- Almost all religions of the world teach this. Even ancient religions and paganism hold this view.
(3) Paradise/ heaven.- Almost all religions of the world teach this
(4) Hell/ or eternal damnation.-Christains, and Muslims

The Grail message is a book not a religion. I maintain that it is wrong for you to say the the author of Grail message got his ideas from Buddhism. You asked what book I read on budism. I read Ramper when I was in Nigeria. Here in America I had a classmet, a Chinese who is a Buddhist. He did almost everything to convert me to Buddhism, He gave me books, He talked to me, He taught me how to meditate and I have visited their temple many times. I am still in touch with him, perhaps I will invite him to this forum. My wife's mother is half black American and half Indian. She is a Hindu, actually my wife was raised a Hindu but turned Christian at eighteen. See, I am very familiar with with eastern religions.

Bob never denied having numerous affairs with women, check out the Jamaican culture at Bobs time and you will see that it is a normal thing with them.

Both despite all He remained married all his life. And his wife Rita has better things to say about him than any of Michael's ex-wife had to say about Michael. Rita today in charge of Bob Marley's foundation and she is dedicated to see the message of Bob Marley spread all over the world.

Bobs birthday this year was celebrated in Ethiopia. Organised by Rita and Bob's children. This even drew far more crowd than the burial of Michael Jackson.

Bob Marley loved Children even more than Michael. He adopted Rita's first child(Sharon Marley) that was not his, and treated her like his own. He left her millions just as he left his other kids. But nobody ever accused him of molesting any child.

Good points!! you almost changed my mind. You got me with the "earth song" thing. Anyday that song will still be relevant. I love that song. The music vidoe is even more wonderfull. One aspect of Michael that nobody can beat is his music videos. In that aspect nobody is even close to him.

But about Michael being in guness world book of records, bob also had achievements of the same caliber. Bob's album "Exodus" was nominated for the best album of the century award. This album was made about 32 years ago!

Here are facts why Bob Marley is greater.
1) Bob was born in a poor family, he hardly knew his father. He had to suffer and struggle to succeed in music without the guidance of his parents and family.
But Micheal was born in a family where his father knew a lot about music. His father pushed him and polished him, so did Diana Ross. He also had the help of his brothers, the jackson 5.

2) Micheal was born in a country that is very advanced in technology and music.  He worked on the best studios, had the most technological advanced equipments. Had producers who had more than enough capital to advertise the music and send it to all parts of the world.
Bob was born in a third world country. At first he hardly had good recording studios. There was no money to advertise the music around the world. His early musics was made just for Jamaica, but today the whole world scrambles to hear them. He had almost no technology to advance him, only raw talent.

3) Before Bob reggae was unknown and unsophisticated music. In Jamaica there were Calypso, ska, and etc but reggae was really undeveloped and wasn't listened outside Jamaica. Bib took the music and developed it to a level that the whole world accepted. reggae is now at the same level with pop and rock, just because of Bob Marley. He took a regional and unciviliced music to stardom, just due to his raw talent. One can say that Bob Marley is one of the inventors of reggae music.
Before Michael pop and rock was already sophisticated, developed and well accepted all over the world. there was already great demand for it in all parts of the world. Michael just made some good pop and rock music, he did not add anything to the invention and development of the music.

4) Bob Marley's carrier hardly lasted over a decade. He started in his teens and died in his early thirties. Michael's carrier lasted for over four decades. He started when he was 9 until he died in his fifties.

5)Micheal gave everything to succeed. He changed his appearance many times to become more acceptable. Bob remained himself and wouldn't change just to win fans. His popularity came from his music, his raw talent. Actually he did things that other musicans wouldn't do out of fear of losing fans. He maintenance his blackness and his belief in the superiority of the black race. He sang openly against western world powers, CIA etc. He was a womanizer, had many kids and wouldn't deny it for popularity. He openly smoked weed and sang songs glorify it. Despite all these thing he was still worshiped and adored, he even received presidential welcome when he travelled, eg when he went to Australia.

6) Bob Marley was also a political phenomenon. He was invited to perform at the independence of of Zimbabwe. He music and influence affected the political outcome of many nations. EG in 1976 he was shot by Edward Seagas party because he intended to perform before the election. Yet he performed, his music and performance one of the reasons why Michael Manely won the presidentail election against Edward Seager. I south Africa, the apartheid regime banned most of Bob Marley's songs especially "Africa Unite" due to the effect it had on the politicall struggle of that nation. He was seen as a freedom fighter, a revolutionist all over the world. He single handed ended the Jamaican civil war in his "Smile Jamaica" concert by calling the president and the leader of the opposition party on his stage and joined their hands together. An event which won him an award as peacemaker. Needless to say that presidents went to see his shows. Michael's music has little or no political inclination.

7)Bob Marley received and Honorary citizen award and the president went to his funeral. Obama didn't even issue a speech on the death of Michael.

8 ) Bob Marley was seen by many as a prophet. His music is prophetic. He has been dead for almost 30 years now but his music is still very relevant in todays world happenings. I bet you ten years from now people will hardly be playing "Bad, Belie Jean or Wanna be starting something."

9) Bob could play the guitar he wrote and composed most of his songs. Michael does not play any musical instrument, and he buought allot of songs written by others. Some of his best songs were not written by him, eg Thriller, Human nature, Man in the mirror, and so many others. In the Thriller album he wrote only a few songs, I think only these three -- Bellie Jean, Beat it, and wanner be starting somthing. The rest of the songs were written by other people. He co-wrote "girl is mine" with Paul McCartney In all Bob's albums majority of the songs were written by him.

Perhaps you should read the Buddism's holy books proper. Buddist ideas are thousands of years old. They cover everything from reincarnation to how our thoughts interact with the unseen universe. The Grail Message is a modern book and the ideas in it are already covered in Buddism, extensively, even if the autjhor plays with semantics and changes terms. I'm a Christian. There are Christians who believe every single word in the Bible is sacred, that God wrote it all himself via divine secretaries or something. But while the Bible's message is divine, it's a human and flawed document. If I have no trouble criticizing the holy book of my faith, I can certainly point out the striking similarities between Buddism and a book by a modern author. Why nwakwo should take exception to that, especially since he's not read any Buddist literature, is beyond me. Grail's ideas are extensively covered in the various Buddhist literature, and if he has a problem with that, that will have to remain his own affair.

Still this does not prove that the author of the Grail message got his ideas from Buddhism. There are also ideas in the bible that is similar to some ideas in Buddhism and Islam. Now would you conclude that Christianity got their ideas from Buddhism.
I have told you that I have read allot about Buddhism and Hinduism and at the moment I am reading the Grail Message. Eventhough the both talk about reincarnation, their explanation of it is not the same. The Grail Message is not that similar to Buddhism. I will give you more examples:
1) Buddhism encourages meditation as essential for spiritual development, the Grail Message does not.
2) Buddhism encourages vegetarianism as essential for developing compassion, the Grail message does not.
3) Buddhism believes in Nirvana(the state dissolving ones personality and merging with the creator) , the Grail message does not.

If you can please list the similarities between the Grail message and Buddhism that justifies your accusation, I will appreciate it.

I don't use the word akata because I don't know what it means. I am Igbo and in Igbo language there is no such word.
I have seen hard working an intelligent African Americans. My wife is one, and I love her with all my heart. She has given me two lovely kids and she is a God sent. I respect her and I have never cheated on her; she respects me more and she thinks highly of everything in the Igbo culture. It was her decision that we raise our kids completely the Igbo way. All my family, even my mother treats her with love and respect.
I am saying all these to show that I am not prejudiced and I have met good African Americans, and I have always defended them even in this forum.

That said, I completely disagree with RajalAadi. He is obviously ignorant and biased. Everyline in his post speaks of ignorance and prejudice. I let my wife read RajalAadi post and she wants me to make it clear to Nairalanders that RajalAadi's opinion does not represent the opinion of the entire African American community.

The funny thing about RajalAadi's post is that he kept saying that African Americans are completely different from Africans, with only minimal historical origins. If that is the case why go by the name African American. Why not remove the African in your name since you have nothing to do with Africa which you are not proud of. This makes you really ridiculous. How can I call myself a "male human" and turn around and argue that I am not male.

You would have made more sense if you had refused to be addressed as African American. I have seen some black Americans who hate Africans and refuse to be called African Americas. Their position commands more respect because they don't identify themeselves with something they claim to be alien to. But yours is a ridiculous position; for you to identify yourself with a continent that you have only minimal connection with, a continent that you are not proud of, speaks volumes of you.

Also saying that west Africans have not contributed anything to the development of the world is laughable. I don't need to waste my energy on that one. Read your history.

I'm reading Magic and Mystery in Tibet by Alessandra David-Neel. She was a French scholar who studied at the Surborne in Paris and went to Tibet for a scholarly project on oriental mysticism. She saw more than she baragined for, ended up staying for 14 years learning under her spiritual master, adn became the only European woman to become a lama, a Tibetan Master or Monk. The books is an excellent introduction to Tibetan Buddism, and Tibetan religious philosophy is enthralling. Her rational, clear-eyed approach to mysticism is refreshing.I've been reading up on Buddist philosophy for a while; but there are so many schools of thought, though it's certainly not boring. It's the most philosophically advanced and enthralling religion on earth. You see where authors of books like THE GRAIL MESSAGE (Oskar Ernst Bernhardt) get their material. The above is not always correct. Just because two people talks of the same concept doesn't mean that one of them got it from the other. All religions and sects in the world, at some point in there doctrine, have believes that are similar. This does not qualify the hastily assumption that they got it from each other.
If somebody writes about the sun in Nigerian and another writes about the sun in America. You don't conclude that one got his idea from the other; could also be that both wrote from their personal experience since both can see and experience the sun from their locations.

Besides, I have read so many books by Tibetan lamas, I have read more than five books by T Lobsang Rampa; at the moment I am reading the Grail message, and the reincarnation and karma that Tibetan lamas talk about is not exactly what the Grail Message talks about.
Ie, some Buddhists and Hindus believe that a humanbeing can reincarnate as an animal. But, to the best of my knowledge, the Grail message teaches that humans can only reincarnate as humans. I can go on and on about the differences.

There is no court or judge in America that will question whether those kids are Michael's. No court will even order a paternity test. Those kids are Michael's! simple and short. Of course they are his kids, and custody of the kids is going to be given to Micheals mother-Katherine.

There is no way on earth that any American court or judge is going to give those kids to Debbie Rowe.

She is not even fighting for that because she knows that the kids will never be given to her. The issue of her saying that those kids are not biologically Michael's is a lie. She did not say that. She had issued an official statement saying that she has no interest in getting custody of the kids.
