Where is he getting the money from though. I was reading one of his interviews and he was unable to state how he got all the money to fund such investments. He probably has a backer somewhere.

What you are asking for I cannot give. You are asking for day to day observation that evolution exist. I cant make you smarter. That is not possible. There is a reasoned argument for evolution. You can see evolution if you work in microorganisms where mutation and natural selection are more rapid due to a lower DNA complexity. You can infer evolution but that does no necessary mean it has to be observed in our day to day life.

I dont even know why you are pushing the evolution question. Its a scientific question, which is rigorously under attack yes, but one you would not be capable of understanding by vitrue of your significant lack of expertise in this area. The alternative, creationism is hilarious and quite limiting at best and is formed under an unproved premise that a supernatural being exists. Suffice to say that currently most scientist accept this theory, and that your uninformed opinion does not matter. Hawking's Atheism is not even premised upon evolution but his belief that due to the randomness of our existence there cannot be a God as we define it (One that is Benevolent and Infallible). The fact that we are here is not due to being "created" by a supernatural being but is purely by chance in the universe. Our higher-level rationality and consciousness is not sufficient evidence of a supernatural being, since it is obvious that awareness and rationality is greatly hierarchical. Our rationality while being the most unique aspect of we humans is also our greatest weakness. It keeps reminding us that we are going to die one day just like the animals that we are and so we create myths due to the belief that we are special, we are conscious and so our consciousness cannot just shutdown, it must go somewhere. The primal instinct of a fear of death that was remnant of our evolutionary ancestors need for survival, but we are plagued with gift of awareness [My view].

Hawking tries to explain by creating an analogy between the human consciousness and a computer. Computer's might just be a suite of programs and algorithms but its ability to function is arguably a level of consciousness albeit a very low one relative to human's. So when they shut down, where does their consciousness go to?

Dont mention that computers are man-made and so human's too must be created. He is point out what happens to our unique consciousness when it ends. That is not the point of the analogy. It would further weaken your stance by highlighting the question: Who created the creator, and who created the creator that created the creator? And who created the creator that created the creator that created the creator? And who . . .
