Like they steal with the NYSC scheme right? I guess.
yes they do. Ghost numbers- I am sure if you audit the NYSC funds you will find out that millions are being siphoned

whatevs thats like half of what I paid on apartment costs when I used to stay in DC.

Anyways back to topic- A new scheme by Nigerian leaders to steal money. I just hope there is some left for me when I get into politics. I think thats my main concern here

Onlytruth:
You don't get it, do you? Has it ever occurred to you that we may actually gain more by not having one of our own inside Aso rock? What can all the other regions producing the president show for their years in office?
If we can get a winning candidate to do things for us, what are we looking for in Aso rock?
What more bitching rights? You guys are still as backwards as you were, what has changed?
PoliticsRe: Awolowo Had No Equal by SEFAGO(m): 12:58am On Jun 04, 2010
Onlytruth:
Actually, I'm hoping Ndigbo don't field a presidential candidate at all next year. That would give us room for maneuvering in the national scheme of things, especially if Jonathan is running. It appears my people have started using their brains to do real strategic thinking in Nigerian politics.
So you can get bitching right for another 8 years sebi? Run the national scheme of things? Like how Zik tried to play roforofo by aligning with the North?

Jonathan being president, and then assuming that igbo people are running anything is like saying Obama is president and so black people run things. You know who is in the background dont you  grin

EzeUche:
Don't know if I could live off of $100 a month.

I would commit suicide. God forbid. At least N450,000 a month.
Thats a fifth of your parents combined income- are you sure you are not boasting grin?

Anyways, this is an avenue for stealing money undecided. Project start, then disappear

This article has been discussed extensively in which i whipped the opposition into shape

PoliticsRe: Awolowo Had No Equal by SEFAGO(m): 12:16am On Jun 04, 2010
Has it also occurred to you that it would be easier for yoruba candidates to campaign in yorubaland because they speak Yoruba which is what most yoruba people speak. Even if you have a translator- which one would you trust- its called group think
PoliticsRe: Awolowo Had No Equal by SEFAGO(m): 12:14am On Jun 04, 2010
But which candidate are the igbo planning to fieldhuh grin

You gusy are confused mate
PoliticsRe: Igbo: A People In Search Of A Leader: Further Commentary by SEFAGO(m): 12:08am On Jun 04, 2010
For the bolded statement, I wonder how any other ethnicity would have fared when left with just 20 pounds each after the war. Look at our position today in Nigeria in comparison with other ethnicities in terms of economic success and tell me what it entails!
See you are doing it again. Reading and choosing selectively. I doubt every Igbo was given just 20 pounds each- I would wager its those who had property in non-biafra Nigeria. Let me check to verify.
PoliticsRe: Igbo: A People In Search Of A Leader: Further Commentary by SEFAGO(m): 11:46pm On Jun 03, 2010
You seem to be hell bent on derailing this thread and making it Awolowos. I promptly answered your concern. Maybe if you intentionally ignored it, here it is again.
If this article is not accurate how can you debate its statements then? Or use it as a reference? I still dont understand. For example the claims that Igbo are hardworking is false, but no igbo person has pointed out this falsity.
PoliticsRe: Awolowo Had No Equal by SEFAGO(m): 11:38pm On Jun 03, 2010
Who were the candidates- I dont want to know the name of the parties. Please list them carefully. grin

I have a feeling someone is going to get whacked. Please show me each group in each election year and tell me if it can be argued that the Yorubas voted for someone of inferior candidacy. Obasanjo though is an interesting case I must say.
PoliticsRe: Awolowo Had No Equal by SEFAGO(m): 11:29pm On Jun 03, 2010
FL Gator must be kidding. For one, I am not arguing anything. I have never said Yoruba are innately superior to other ethnic groups. I can bring statements from onlytruth which make claims such as the igbo gene, how igbo are the most hardworking, how awolowo is terrible e.t.c

Please find a statement in which I have insulted Azikiwe, or anyone apart from Ojukwu.

I dont argue, I just watch over arguments and make sure they are balanced
PoliticsRe: Awolowo Had No Equal by SEFAGO(m): 11:27pm On Jun 03, 2010
The question should be: Apart from AG (Awo), UPN (Awo), SDP (under Abiola candidacy), AD (Olu falae), and PDP (under Obasanjo candidacy); which other party did the Yoruba ever vote for en masse in the history of elections in Nigeria?
Please list the opposing parties or other options. Where there any better options?
PoliticsRe: Igbo: A People In Search Of A Leader: Further Commentary by SEFAGO(m): 11:24pm On Jun 03, 2010

006, I still post the question to all the igbos on this thread:

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-456203.0.html

why is it that you guys agree with what the author says about you but cannot accept what he says about awolowo? This is contradiction at its highest.
PoliticsRe: Awolowo Had No Equal by SEFAGO(m): 11:10pm On Jun 03, 2010
The chief question for you revisionists is this: Have the Yoruba ever voted for a non-Yoruba candidate in presidential elections since the carpet crossing incidence of the early 1950s?
1. How many elections have we had in Nigeria for you to be shouting
2. How many really viable igbo candidates have been presented. We cannot just vote like zombies you know.

@ flo_path

You were asking about the Gates. I previously mentioned you need around a 3.8 to have a good chance. Also you need to be endorsed by your university. Lots of Nigerians win Gates- being the best in Nigeria is not that hard lol

Now being one of the best in the US, to compete for a Gates is not easy.

It seems you are interested in Harvard SEAS. I would point out that such programs are extremely interdisciplinary. They dont pick you based on grades, but on FIT I think its a good idea though to minor in something unique or gain a research skill that is needed for a project.

Exactly! They are both XHOSA. Do you know what Xhosas are known for in South Africa? Apart from being the second single largest tribe, they are like Ndigbo. They are the hardest working and most enterprising black South Africans.
