Hi, how far? Have you been able to sort this? They should have sent you an SMS to confirm your payment. Apparently, it takes 1 week for the banks to reconcile the money paid to NIS account (s) WhatAwoq: |
Hey! Don't worry. NIS should confirm payment in a week by SMS. That's what happened to me. If after 1 week they don't, then you can follow up Elnon: |
Oggg:Thanks Bro. So, I finally captured yesterday. Got a "proceed to enrollment" text by 11pm yesterday night...whatever that means. The servicom guys said I will receive a text when it's time to pickup the renewed passport. Anyway, when you get to Ikoyi and anyone officer or not - wants to ask you anything, tell them you're there to see Mr ADAMU. Na free entry - no disturbance ![]() However, there are 3 Mr Adamus at the Ikoyi centre. - One is an older NIS officer. He's dark and NOT with servicom ![]() - One is a mallam and a hustler who will want to hand you over to another hustler who will charge you to get a file and write application letter ![]() - The Mr Adamu you want to deal with is a younger, slightly fair NIS officer with a red servicom badge on his arm ![]() The servicom unit has a green sign hanging above it with SERVICOM UNIT written on it. It is closed in a glass casing on the right hand side (about 30m) from the point where you do NIS Covid-19 temperature scan. It is opposite a building with yellow/orangish oval designs on the white wall. Between these 2 buildings is the road people walk through. The NIS-servicom guys there are much younger and very smartly dressed in carton-brown NIS uniform. Once you're done with the servicom guys, everything else is sequential. They will tell you where to go next - just adjacent their glass casing office. There are 8 points you will get to before you enter the capture room. Series of stamping and inspections will be done. In the capture room, I couldn't help but notice something... If you're from servicom, (they would have put your documents in an official large NIS file) - there was a silent reverential treatment. I think they all know that's the legally right path to take and they're being careful. Hope this helps someone who tries to renew his/her passport in Ikoyi. |
Oggg:Can the application letter be handwritten or it has to be printed? I have everything else. |
segedoo:@Oggg Payment Update. 2.01 am this morning, NIS sent me a text. They have received payment for my passport and that I can go and capture at Ikoyi. I'm already in Lagos and will be doing that on Monday. I bothered them at NIS and GTbank mehn. Emails, tweets, screenshots etc. Glad that episode is over. |
Hi, I'm quite familiar with this strategy. I only create CAs for 75% & 95% views though. For LAAs I do 1% and 2% separately. What's your conversion rate though? It seems that your target audience are Nigerians. Do you run campaigns for US-based audiences? Well done. |
Yeah. You're right. So na bargain I even get! SKhanmi: |
Thanks. I input the OTP. It is the token I couldn't use with NETpay I will go there on monday. Oggg: |
Well, i chose Netpay but it prompted me to use bank account option. I couldn't pay through them because my 10-year old token wasn't functioning. So, I opted for PayArena. After all, I see them on ATMs. WRONG DECISION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I paid online using PayArena and got an OTP from GTbank. Then NIS webpage froze! No redirection to the next stage. It just froze. Meanwhile, I had got the attached message from GTBank I have sent tweets to GTbank, NIS and PayArena and I have also emailed GTB & NIS. segedoo:

Oggg:Oggg, you and the other guys here are The BOMB!. Thanks for serving Nigerians free of charge. I've attached my convo with an Immigration officer in Osogbo. I just moved when I saw that he was saying things different from testimonials I was reading on this thread. I'm about to pay online. Then head to Lagos (maybe this weekend) because I have other things to do there. Lemme kill several birds with one stone. @Trexate

Lagos Business School is arguably the most prestigious business school in Nigeria. Several of my business associates have passed through their tutelage and are doing fine in corporate Nigeria and in their businesses. 1. Lagos business school can’t teach you how to read people Reading people and understanding body language are very important to succeeding in business and in life: • You have to learn to listen to what’s being said and how it is being said. • You have to learn to listen to what’s being said but not being vocalized. • You have to observe people “aggressively.” • You will have to talk less to automatically learn more. • You will have to notice first impressions. • Most importantly, learn to use what you’ve learned. 2. Lagos business school can’t teach you how to create lasting impressions You need to learn how to make business gestures that will be appreciated and remembered by the other party like: • Asking about and then doing something for one of their kids on day one. • “Freeing” people after you both have an agreement but circumstances have changed and they honestly can’t keep up. • Bargaining softly on deals important to the other party so that more long term opportunities can be created. Make business mentors and confidants – people you trust who you can seek advice from. Be totally discreet- anytime you talk about another person, the person listening will wonder what you tell others about them. Respect confidences. 3. Lagos business school can’t teach you how to follow your intuition Every entrepreneur who has been successful will understand winning through intuition – when everything isn’t quite right except that inner feeling. Nothing in a textbook or case study can explain this. Being intuitive means knowing what people want before they know they need it and finding a profitable way to give it to them. The perfect example is the late, Great Steve Jobs and the iPod he gave us. 4. Lagos business school can’t teach you humility Humility is a great business attribute. It can win even the most negative customer over. As an entrepreneur or business executive, you have to learn to say these phrases: • I don’t know: it is best than presenting a know-it-all approach. It also shows your humanity and your clients will trust you more for being truthful. Not knowing something isn’t a crime however, offer to refer clients to someone who does. • Help me: one big reason businesses fail is because someone wants to do everything alone. Learn to delegate because it is foolish to insist on doing everything yourself. • Sorry, I was wrong: We all make mistakes. It’s human nature to however, what matter is how you handle them. Readily admitting you were wrong makes a far greater impression than making excuses or outright denial. 5. Lagos business school can’t teach you how to close a sale Closing a sale starts from your first meeting with a prospect till when you get a cheque for an order. Selling is the fastest way to the top of the company. However, reaching the top without exceptional knowing how to persuade is almost impossible. The art of Salesmanship is a life skill. 6. Lagos business school can’t teach you the art of timing in Business This, you learn from experience. You have to know: • When to pitch a business proposition in an informal setting • How to pitch it • When customers wants you to sell them • The best time to sow the seed of an idea • When to send a “Thank You” card • When best to ask for a pay rise • When to close a deal based on the customer’s body language All these and all have to do with timing in business and you can only develop it intuitively. 7. Lagos business school can’t teach you “The Art of Silence” Learning how to use silence is a skill not taught in business schools. However, Silence is a powerful tool you an use to know what is on your prospect's mind - the real excuse for not wanting to buy NOW! It either lets the prospect or client to talk or “forces” them to person to talk. Generally, the first person to talk is the more “uncomfortable” party in business negotiations. 8. Lagos business school can’t teach you how to market yourself • You need to learn how to connect with people on a human level – way beyond the generic business networking concepts. You have put your humanity behind your product and the people who buy it. • You have to learn to dress the part • You have to know your product at subconscious level or people will resent your efforts to sell it. Every fibre of your being has to believe in it; nothing can hide that. Lagos Business School is a great institution but it cannot teach you these and more http://demandsupplier.com/15-business-skills-lagos-business-school-cant-teach/ cc: Seun, Lalasticlala, Mynd44 - Please help entrepreneurs get this. |
Thanks for this post. As Joshua 1:8 explains; a person is responsible for his or her success. Indeed, the key to success is meditating on the word of God day and night. That is when WE can make OUR ways prosperous and WE can have good success. In essence, the outcome of our lives is totally up to us to determine. Unfortunately, most of us claim to serve the only True God but we don't follow His principles and lament when things fail to work as we expect. @lalasticlala @mynd44 Please push this to FP this Sunday morning. |
