vicky6055:I am proud of it because I started out knowing zilch about blogging or websites or anything of the sort. If I did nothing, I would have zero page views. So 100 pageviews is absolutely better than zero pageviews. I am here now because I don't want to rest on that. I am continually seeking ways to get better. So please feel free to share with me proven strategies that works. I published an article today on what I do to increase my brand exposure, that is outside of my website visitors http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/increase-your-blog-exposure/ What are your thoughts on this? At the moment I have a bounce rate of 16%. What is your bounce rate at the moment? Please be honest |
here's an article I wrote on how I get blog exposure http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/increase-your-blog-exposure/ I'm open to receiving more tips |
radragan:Nice blog, I think you should quickly add some posts on your writing as opposed to your marketing etc unless you are trying to establish yourself as a marketing expert. You can check out my blog here http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/blog/ In addition to writing children's books, I host podcast The Segilola Salami Show and I help aspiring authors make a success of publishing. Because what I do is clearly defined, my blog followers know what to expect from my blog. I am always open to learning new things, so what strategies do you have in place to build your email list? and drive traffic to your website? |
oladeledave:Here's my blog too http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/blog/ |
Hi everyone, I would really appreciate it if I can get some feedback from you all on my book. My book is called Yetunde: An Ode to My Mother My writing style involves a story within a story. Someone tagged my writing as similar to Old Peter's Russian Tales, which is a classic. Full disclaimer, I hadn't even heard of this book until I saw the comment. I am looking for constructive feedback, so things like: - what did you like most about the book? - what did you like least about the book? - whilst reading, how did the book make you feel? - was my Yoruba writing accurate? - how else can I improve the book? - how likely are you to buy this book? - how likely are you to recommend this book? Hi everyone, My name is Segilola Salami and I am an author of bilingual Yoruba English children's books http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/my-books/. Someone suggested that I get my books added to the national curriculum for secondary schools as it would be a useful asset. Does anyone know how I can go about this? Many thanks for your help Segilola |
OMG some of the comments on this thread. just killed my buzz at joining this forum "I look forward to the day that ALL Nigerian men will stand up for ALL Nigerian women and not be the first to throw them under the bus" |
kelvinnaira:ah ok, no worries |
kelvinnaira:I don't understand . . . why is not sharing my blog URL a smart one? how else will people find my blog? other than via the feed |
me too me too, what do you think of my blog? http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/blog/ |
islet:Hiya, I am not on whatsapp but you can reach me via my website http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/contact/ I am an author and would be more than happy to ghostwrite for you if you are serious |
I am not a marketing expert and I have only been blogging for about two months. On my blog http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/blog/ I update the latest episode of my podcast show, I write useful tidbits, write recommendations for children's books with downloadable illustrations One strategy that I have found to get people to read my content but not necessarily on my website is by submitting my blog feed http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/feed/ to RSS directories. For me that is a win because these people may not have found my blog otherwise. I also linked my feed to twitter, so immediately I post a new article it goes directly to my twitter page which is linked to my facebook page. Twitter has been the number one source of traffic for my blog, then facebook and even reddit. Now I will admit that my blog itself only gets about a 100 pageviews per day but has an amazing bounce rate of 16%. As my blog is niche (compared to say celebrity gossip) I am happy with the figures. Obviously I would like to still grow it but I understand that it may take a bit of time. What do you guys think? UPDATE: Here's an article I wrote about what I do to increase exposure for my blog http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/increase-your-blog-exposure/. Feel free to check it out if you would like to increase your blog exposure |
ponti93:@ponti93 I am very much interested in working with you. I am an author of bilingual Yoruba English books. My books were inspired from Tales by Moonlight I am slowly building my author platform and I think this is the right time to make my books into an animation. To be honest, I actually wanted to make the animation first but decided to build my platform first. My books have had amazing reviews you can check out here https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28388212-yetunde and from people all over the world Drop me a line here if you are interested and serious about taking things further http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/contact/ |
Diamondwriter:out of interest, why the age restriction? |
Major001:Yes, how much do scripts go for? |
Harmonypublish:Hi Harmony, I write bilingual Yoruba English books and self publish them. My first book is available as both ebook and paperback. The paperback version of my 3rd book is coming out later on this month. As I am based in the UK, I have struggled to get my books into Nigerian stores. Is this something you can do? I have had a couple of people send me an email asking how to get my books and I know one person had to order it from Amazon. If I am not mistaken you can't download Amazon ebooks from Nigeria right? Anyhoos, my books have had amazing reviews so far. You can check them out here https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28388212-yetunde Please download a free copy of Yetunde: An Ode to My Mother Smashwords: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/603700 Amazon UK: http://amzn.to/1R7OVF3 Amazon US: http://amzn.to/1S7GM66 Book page: http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/yetunde-an-ode-to-my-mother/ Kobo https://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/ebook/yetunde-an-ode-to-my-mother-1 iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/en/book/yetunde-an-ode-to-my-mother/id1072179529?mt=11 B&N http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/yetunde-segilola-salami/1123187693 If after going through the reviews and reading a copy you believe my book meets your needs, I would love to get into serious discussion with you re being my publisher in Nigeria. Please drop me a line here http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/contact/ |
Yes, how much do you pay per article Does Femwriters have a website? What type of articles do you normally cover? Is there a word count limit? Kind regards, Segilola http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/blog/ |
Shaz:Hello everyone, New member here. Well I am not really that new, I tend to check out your posts from time to time as a guest but I think the time is now for me to be an official member. I would take a bit of time to go through some of the more recent posts and connect with you all but I will endeavour to be an active member of the forum. Here's a little bit about me: I am an author, I write bilingual Yoruba English Children's books. You can check out my books here http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/my-books/ I host a podcast The Segilola Salami Show. If you would like to know more about it, you can check it out here http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/appear-on-the-segilola-salami-show/ If you have ever thought about being an author and want someone to guide you through publishing, feel free to get in touch. When I first told one of my friends that I wrote a book, he asked me "can you write?" To be honest, those short words planted the seed of doubt in my mind. You see I have been writing less than a year now. Three books later, that stupid godforsaken doubt has been uprooted Most of the people who have read my books so far have been non-Nigerians and it has been truly humbling that they all like my books. If you would like to see the reviews, you can check them out here https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28388212-yetundeThe only test left is if Nigerians would like my books. My friends do but it would be great to get strangers opinions. My book is free on all platforms eg Amazon, itunes etc etc OK now that my Oscar speech is over, please do say hello UPDATE: Here are the links to my books if anyone is interested in getting a free copy My book Yetunde: An Ode to My Mother follows baby Yetunde as she narrates her mother's ode to her grandmother. It is free to download in all platforms: Smashwords: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/603700 Amazon UK: http://amzn.to/1R7OVF3 Amazon US: http://amzn.to/1S7GM66 Book page: http://www.segilolasalami.co.uk/yetunde-an-ode-to-my-mother/ Kobo https://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/ebook/yetunde-an-ode-to-my-mother-1 iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/en/book/yetunde-an-ode-to-my-mother/id1072179529?mt=11 B&N http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/yetunde-segilola-salami/1123187693 Many thanks for your time and kind regards, Segilola |
