PoliticsRe: Obama Would Fair Better As Vice President? by SegunTX(op): 5:56pm On Jan 21, 2008
@Nigeria1

Habaaaaaaaaaa, do you really think that Obama and Edwards could win the White House. That is so impossible. Obama and anyother person other than Edwards. I would probably even do better with Obama than Edwards  grin. The truth of the matter is that Edward doesn't have the personna to move a crowd. To me he is just a figure head in this campaign.

Your vice needs to contribute something to the table. Edwards really do not have any strong hold on any of the demographics that there possibly can be. Bottom line: Edwards + Obama = Obama back in Illinois.

@Iyke D

I like your analysis on Obama. Nice choice of Word too - "Electable". And that is exactly a truth statement. He has proven that he can win, and has been neck and neck with Clinton all the way, lets just see what happens.
PoliticsRe: Obama Would Fair Better As Vice President? by SegunTX(op): 5:29pm On Jan 21, 2008
@DayoKanu,

Now you made a very intersting point. I support your notion, but does America support it?

The way I see it, Obama is intellectual, needless to say that he realistic plans. His plan on healthcare for instance is more realistic and feasible in my books. He plans to spend $60B while Edwards and Clinton plans on $100B on a plan that doesn't seem realistic to me. And like you righfully said, the Clinton's are playing dirty politics. But let us not forget how influential the CLinton's are. I really hope am wrong and that you are right but think about it my broda.

In as much as this guys blows my mind off with what he says and how he plans to accomplish all his goals, I really don't think he has the same effect on the INNER CAUCUS - the real rulers of America.
PoliticsRe: Obama Would Fair Better As Vice President? by SegunTX(op): 5:21pm On Jan 21, 2008
@Wordsmith

In as much as you are right, would America be ready 4 to 8 years from now for a black president, one thing for sure is he would have more experience than where he stands now.

In addition, Obama is smart, he would take it upon himself to do "stuff" that would show that he is capable and competent. More than anything else, Obama's color is what puts him at a disadvantage, but in addition is the fact that he has no "experience". Over time he would overvcome the "experience issue, he would still have to deal with his race, but guess what that may not really come into play at that time.

This is just my opinion, I may be wrong.
TV/MoviesRe: Voltron Defender Of The Universe by SegunTX(m): 5:07pm On Jan 21, 2008
Remember this:

When he was made,
They found something wrong with him.
They threw away
Like a piece of rubbish,
Into an old dark store room,
Then from outer space
A spotty man,
Brought him to life with his cosmic dust.
He took him to a magic cloud,
Where mother nature gave him special powers,
That bear became SUPERTED.

@DayoKanu

In as much as I detest the behavior of the Clinton's, the reality that we live in or that we have to face is the fact that Obama if he wins the nomination can never win the white house by himself. America still get that thing for their blood way be say they would never allow it. Let us not forget that whites make up a significant amount of the American population. America is better ready for a female white president than a black male president.

As Jesoul put it, I really think Obama's best bet is to take vice presidency now, and come back 8 years from now for presidenccy. Then he would have gained enough "experience" plus he is still young.
PoliticsRe: Obama Would Fair Better As Vice President? by SegunTX(op): 4:54pm On Jan 21, 2008
@IykeD

Really don't know if winning Iowa really meant that much. Hillary has won three in a row now - New Hampshire, Detroit and Nevada. E go hard for Obama to be nominated, abi you don't think so?

And ttrust me the moment wey Obama becomes nominated, then you would know that there are some die hard whites who would never allow a black president.
PoliticsRe: Obama Would Fair Better As Vice President? by SegunTX(op): 4:51pm On Jan 21, 2008
@ Jesoul,

Who do you suppose Obama would pick for vice president (supposing he is nominated)? I am trying to think but I no sabi.

Another thing way cross my mind be say Clinton may not want to use Obama, but rather decide to use Bill Richardson in a desperate attempt to secure Hispanic votes.

I really wanna know who you think go be vice for Obama though?
RomanceRe: Ten Years Of Relationship But No Marriage by SegunTX(m): 4:32pm On Jan 21, 2008
My best response to you is that you should look before you leap. Make hay while the sun shines. Without the basic necessities of life he may not be able to support you, but then the question you should be asking is does he have the potential, does he have a plan?

If the answer is yes then give him a chance, and let him know what your concerns are. If he truly loves you, he would want to fulfil your requests.
SportsRe: Super Eagles Squad At Ghana 2008: What To Expect? by SegunTX(m): 4:26pm On Jan 21, 2008
Nigeria has a very balanced squad, but I don't know if they can pull it off. I think they would make it to the Semis though, and as usual come home with the bronze medal.
PoliticsObama Would Fair Better As Vice President? by SegunTX(op): 4:24pm On Jan 21, 2008
In continuation of a recent post here "Obama for President?" I looked at this situation and come to realize that it is best Obama enters as a vice-president. WHY you might ask??

If Obama were to be nominated:
Do you seriously think that America is ready for a black president?
Do you seriously think that Obama would be able to edge out John Mccain (my probable nominee from Republicans), Mitt Romney, or Mike Huckabee?
Who would become Obama's vice, Clinton?? NO WAY; Edwards?? Would be greatest mistake of Obama.
Bill Clinton's support for Obama would be zilch (zero), and that would make it even more difficult for him to win.

The truth of the matter is that Obama for president sounds good on paper, but I so much believe that he is best suited as the Vice president, by so doing, himself and Hillary would form a formidable force, and would have the votes of Independents and youths, whom I believe would play a vital role in who becomes president. Besides they would offer a stiffer opposition for the Republicans. I want the Democrats to win, and the only way is Clinton for President, Obama for vice.

What do you think?
RomanceRe: Not On Speaking Terms: How Long? by SegunTX(m): 2:41pm On Jan 10, 2008
I was hoping to get the invitation / announcement of Toyin and Sly's wedding or re-wedding,  Toyin and Sly where at thou - You guys would make a very wonderful tandem together.

@Topic - While we were dating, we could go probably 3 days at the most without not talking to each other, but now, we are so close that it'll probably last minutes before the ice is broken between us both.

I really believe that the level of intimacy not neccesarily proximity would determine how long you guys can keep the malice. For someone you really care about and love, trust me it should not take you long before realizing that you can "do without" the other person for so long.
CrimeRe: Clifford Orji on the Loose Again?? by SegunTX(op): 1:35am On Jan 10, 2008
Na wah for Naija oooo. There is every possiblity that the guy was associated with top officials. We also heard back then that he was selling body parts of people to other people that subsequently used it for rituals. I really think that EFCC should probe this case, and try to know those that the parts were being supplied to, but as you would imagine that would probably not happen ,

CrimeClifford Orji on the Loose Again?? by SegunTX(op): 1:03am On Jan 10, 2008
I remembered about this case that happened sometimes ago . . . .

Just so you remember: Clifford Orji & Tahiru - Two suspected Nigerian cannibals were arrested under a bridge in Lagos after residents heard the cries of a woman one of them he was about to kill. Remains of roasted human parts were recovered in their shack under under a bridge in Lagos. "Some of the limbs and feet on the man's grill are believed to be those of a young woman, going by the size of the feet and the long black permed hair," the Guardian newspaper reported, "The rest of the body ,  was said to have been eaten up before the arrest." The bizarre incident sent shockwaves through Lagos, causing a massive traffic jam as thousands of spectators massed around the area to catch a glimpse of the cannibal hut.

The suspects were identified as Clifford Orji and Tahiru. The cannibal duo, who appear to be mildly retarded, allegedly dug holes on the ground for unwary passers-by to fall into, before killing them and roasting their bodies. They allegedly preferred attacking women, especially "young, fine girls with long hairs,  We wanted to stop women from wearing wigs."

Orji, who is the more vocal of the duo, claimed to have come "from America." He confessed that they enjoyed raping their victims before munching on their flesh. Orji said he usually went out to hunt for their victims, while Tahiru acted as the butcher.

The demented killer added: " I just look unto the forehead of any woman, blow the air from my mouth as directed by the spirit, then, the woman will follow me. When I get to the underbridge, I will have sexual affair with her to a state of unconsciousness before we slaughter her and roast. I am not alone, I have between four to 10 people. They take their own parts and go while I wait again for another meat." It is unclear how many victims the serial cannibal-couple killed and ate. Neighbors said the two killers lived under the brigde of the Airport Road for years and were suspected of murdering people to sell their body parts for rituals.

Whatever happened with this case, where is Clifford Orji now?
RomanceRe: Who Sits In Front: Your Girlfriend Or Bestfriend? by SegunTX(m): 9:36pm On Jan 09, 2008
But in reality, it doesn't matter if it is your girlfriend or your wife. I believe it depends on the situation. What I mean is if the guy for instance is on the big side, he may not be able to fit adequately at the back seat, and it may only make more sense for him to seat in the front seat where he could be more comfortable.

Bottom life, rightfully your wife and g/f place should be in front, but then, situation may warrant otherwise.

CareerRe: Working In A Bank Is Better Than Working In An Oil Company - Fact Or Fiction? by SegunTX(op): 4:08pm On Dec 27, 2007
@abbyode, bebe2007

It seems to me though that the banking sector in Nigeria is making so much noise nowadays. As a matter of fact, dont you think to maintain that sharp edge in IT and to be able to set up your own firm later on, that it is better you work with a company who constantly utilizes your skills (bank).

I don't know how true this is but I have heard that you hardly do so much for all the money you get paid working in an oil company, compared to what you do in the bank.

BTW, that was very hillarious, the song , all other grounds are sinking sand. grin

@Fun loving and Dis Guy

Thanks for your input. I guess it all boils down to choice. Shell's position seems to be more lucrative, but yet laid back. On the contrary, the GTB schedule seems to be more tasking.

The main question would then be, which is most likely to be more stable - "guaranteed" ??

OK, here is the deal, a buddy of mine out here in the States has been in IT for about five years now working in the States (graduated also in the States). However, his desire (just like mine) is to come back home to Naija to work. He has been on this for sometime now and finally got two offers from Naija for him to come and work over there.

The first offer is from a bank, and the second is from an oil company. The oil company pays slightly more than the bank. He is having a hard time making a decision, not only about the money, but about the potential for growth, security among other things,

My question to you now is, if you were in his shoes which company would you choose? Which do you see as having a better upside, what factors would be considered in making a decison? wink

"Trust in the Lord with all thy strength and lean not unto thine own understanding."

To trust my girlfriend 100% is impossible.
To trust my wife 100% is close to impossible, except after we have been married for so many years.
I think trust should grow with love which grows over time.
Only God is worthy of 100% trust.
