Romance / 4 Behaviors That Keep A Woman Single by segzytemi(m): 4:49am On Jan 04, 2014
I have met a lot of successful, GOD loving, beautiful, educated and smart religious women who are getting frustrated waiting for Mr. Right. Just like you, I kept asking myself, “But why GOD, please send her a husband through an angel” …….Now on the flip side I am beginning to notice a certain culture of behavior among some of my lovely single sisters. So if you are “still single” and really want to get hitched, please use these behavioral points to scan yourself.

1*.You easily give to men to get love:
One thing I noticed is some single ladies give sex to get a relationship while men give a relationship to get sex. Both are wrong! Someone is going to get their heart broken at the end of it all, especially the lady. Sex is your insurance to finding TRUE LOVE! Sex is now so easy to get and love, too scare to get. Play safe.

2*.You are overly career focus and too religious:
My advice is to get a bit of a balance in your life, socialize more. If you don’t expose yourself to an environment that improves the chances of a man asking you out, you will stay single for long, especially the religious sisters. Yes, it is good to work for God but God also expects you to exhibit yourself to potential suitors, except you want to marry the Holy Spirit which is impossible….He is TAKEN!

3*.You don’t know the difference between a boy and a man :
I have met a few ladies who dated a boy and expected him to act and treat her like a man. That’s impossible. You must learn to identify the difference between a boy and a man. Listen, a man is interested in God first and you second, a man will respect your sexual purity, a man would not manipulate you etc. But not a boy! (That’s a topic for another day)

4*.Not making God your number one priority:
Though I am bringing this point in last place, it is actually the most important because it solidifies your foundation. Without God your choices in men will be poor, your frustration will keep increasing and players will keep playing you. Think twice, I don’t want you to get to heaven single
So my advice is take time to prayerfully consider this points and others i failed to mention. God has a special man for you, one who doesn’t want to make you a baby mama but a mother. Reclaim your strength and stay faithful.

Do you identify with any of these points? Do you think there are more points?

Politics / Boko Haram: Finish End-of-year Service By 10pm – Army Warn Churches by segzytemi(m): 4:26pm On Dec 30, 2013
The 23rd Brigade of Nigerian Army in Yola has advised the Christian community in Adamawa to round off their end of year Church services on Tuesday by 10 pm.
The advice was contained in a statement signed by the Brigade’s Public Relations Officer, Ja’aafaru Nuhu.
He said the early completion of church services by the time was because of the existing 11pm to 5am curfew still in force in the state.
“The Headquarters of 23 Brigade wishes to bring to the notice of the general populace of Adamawa state that the imposition of curfew from 11pm to 5am daily is still in force.
“While we all know the importance of night prayers, especially at the last day of the year, we need to consider the best interest of the general public,” the statement said.
It pledged the commitment of security agencies in the state to the safety of life and property and urged the public to sustain its support and cooperation towards the goal.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the curfew has been on force in the state since the declaration of state of emergency in May.

Before Messi and Ronaldo, there was Ronaldinho and before Ronaldinho was terrorising defenders with his frightening skills, he was just a raw talent with unfortunate teeth.
Pictured here looking rather cute, 'the small Ronaldo' as his name denotes, was displaying unbelievable skills way beyond his age in Brazil

We all know that Gareth Bale is the world's most expensive player in history, what we didn't know was how cute he was as a child.
Bale is trying to make his name in Spain, but he was once just kicking a ball around as young Southampton academy player.

Lionel Leo Messi

Who would have thought it? Probably not the people that knew Messi as a child.
His talent was undeniable and he could run rings around kids twice his age, but little Leo suffered from a debilitating hormone deficiency.
Barcelona saw his raw talent and offered to pay for treatment to help him grow and that will probably go down as one of the best decisions in the club's history.

Mario Balotelli

Where there is Super Mario there is controversy, and also some footballing genius every now and again. Mario was in the headlines during his time in England for all the wrong reasons, but our back pages are duller without him. Currently spearheading a lacklustre AC Milan team, he could be back soon enough if the papers are to be believed.

It's always fun to look at top football players when they were kids, so here are some of the best players when they were just children

Politics / Boko Haram: 1,200 Killed In Seven Months. by segzytemi(m): 2:22pm On Dec 17, 2013
The United Nations (UN) yesterday said over 1,200 people have been killed as a result of the Boko Haram insurgency in the Northeast of Nigeria since a state of emergency was declared in the region in May.
According to the World body in a statement, the figure is related to killings of civilians and the military by Boko Haram in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.
It also includes insurgents killed by security forces repelling attacks.
This is the first time independent casualty figures have been issued since emergency rule was declared.
Thousands of people have been killed since 2009, when Boko Haram launched its campaign to install strict Islamic law in the north
The figures do not include those killed during military operations, a spokesman for the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (Ocha) told French News Agency the (AFP)
“The humanitarian situation in north-east Nigeria has been increasingly worrisome over the course of 2013,” the UN said.
There have been 48 separate “Boko Haram-related” attacks in the region since emergency rule was declared, the statement added.
“Information on the situation is scarce,” with figures of those displaced by the conflict and those who have fled to neighbouring states “hard to gauge”, Ocha said.
Since the declaration of state of emergency in Borno state, of which Maiduguri is the capital, and Adamawa and Yobe, there has been a massive military deployment in the worst-affected areas.
Attacks by Boko Haram are continuing despite the big military offensive.
The military initially switched off the mobile network across the region, apparently to block Islamists from co-ordinating attacks but that has since been relaxed

Culture / Uruguay Legalizes Marijuana Sale And Production by segzytemi(m): 7:17pm On Dec 11, 2013
Uruguay has become the first country in the world to legalize both the sale and production of marijuana. President Jose Mujica has championed the measure as a way of combatting the illegal drug industry that has decimated parts of Uruguay.
The country’s parliament passed the bill by a vote of 16 to 13 on Tuesday evening. Senator Alberto Couriel, a member of the ruling Broad Front left-wing coalition, called the passing of the bill“a historic day”for Uruguay.
Under the new legislation, the price of marijuana will be set at one dollar per gram, aiming to undercut the current price of $1.40 on the illegal market. The sale and production of the drug will be regulated by a specially-set-up government body which will administer a database of adult citizens registered to consume marijuana.
“This is an attempt to bring an end to the illegal drugs trade by identifying the market and bringing it into the light of day,”said President Mujica in a statement. Mujica added that the law does not promote the consumption of the drug; it merely identifies the consumer so that authorities may“intervene if [the consumer] overdoes it.”
Before the new legislation was passed, the consumption of marijuana in Uruguay was not penalized, but the sale and production of the drug was considered a criminal offense.
A number of conditions will govern the sale and production of the drug. Registered Uruguayans over the age of 18 will have the right to buy up to 40 grams of marijuana from pharmacies every month and cultivate a maximum of six plants on their property. The legislation will also allow for the creation of so-called cannabis clubs, composed of up to 45 members who will be able to grow a maximum of 100 plants.
Uruguay’s National Drug Board estimates that there are around 120,000 marijuana users in Uruguay from a population of 3.3 million. Consumer groups estimate a higher figure, putting the number of users at around 200,000.
The bill has triggered debate in Latin America over the issue of the illegal drugs trade and the problems it creates.
“I think it is unrealistic,”Paraguay’s National Anti-drug Minister, Luis Rojas, told Spanish news agency Efe earlier this year. Despite the new law, Rojas said he believes Uruguay will continue to receive marijuana grown in Paraguay.
Moreover, president of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies, Eduardo Alves, said that Brazil was not ready for the legalization of marijuana in neighboring Uruguay. According to police figures, around 80 percent of the marijuana cultivated in Paraguay is exported to Brazil where it feeds the illegal drug trade. Brazil is concerned that the legalization of the drug could lead to a similar system in Uruguay

Education / ASUU, FG Have Fallen Short Of Nigeria’s Glory by segzytemi(m): 6:41pm On Dec 11, 2013
A public affairs analyst, Chima Nnaji, on Wednesday lambasted both ASUU and the Federal Government of Nigeria, saying ‘they have fallen short of Nigeria’s glory’.
Speaking on Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, Mr Nnaji said that neither ASUU nor the government could be praised in the circumstance which led to the prolonged strike.
“We don’t have strategic thinkers in government and that’s why we even had this problem degenerate this way, he said, and added that “we have more of doers than thinkers.”
He commended the fight for the improvement of educational sector but described strike as the last resort used by those who are “less developed in terms of cerebral content”.
According to Mr Nnaji, social scientists as well as those in the faculty of law should be able to advice on some of the social factors that can be put in place to get the government to listen.
He said that ASUU had been infiltrated by persons who are not of intellectual or moral standard. “They are neither good in the classroom nor good in their conduct.”
Government must do everything possible to get the crisis sorted out while members of ASUU should do some soul searching and house cleaning.
On the issue of insecurity in the northern part of Nigeria, Mr Nnaji pointed out that there had not been any study on Boko Haram, or the social factors that may have given rise to the insurgency, by the academic community

Family / CONFESSION: ''I Have Hidden My HIV Status From My Husband For Four Years" by segzytemi(m): 9:23pm On Nov 15, 2013
According to Punch Metro , a woman disclosed how she has kept her HIV positive status away from her husband after years of marriage.
Sh said;
''I cannot tell you how I contracted HIV, but I had a brief fling with a pupil in my secondary school in 2009 when I was 17''---Mrs. Grace Brume, 22-year-old HIV patient, expecting her second baby at the Amassoma General Hospital, Amassoma, Bayelsa State.
PUNCH Metro had enquired from Grace how her husband, Fyneface, was treating her considering her challenge, she said, “I did not tell him that I am HIV positive. No one knows that I am HIV-positive except an aunt. Even my husband does not know. I have hidden my status from him since I tested positive.
“I would have told my husband, but the aunt said I should not. My aunt keeps encouraging me that those who have HIV will not die and that there are drugs they take to keep alive. Interestingly, my husband is negative.”
I usually convinced my husband to use condoms.
“My husband used to kick against it each time I gave him condoms to use. I told him I was asthmatic and I did not want to get pregnant often. As a result, he agreed to be using condoms even though he did not like it.
“When we wanted to have the second baby, he did it without condoms. Still, my husband is negative.”
She said her resolve not to tell anybody was because of stigmatization which most HIV patients usually suffer.
Grace said her first child born to the “rascally schoolboy” was HIV-negative. She said Praise-God was in the Kindergarten class in a private school, stressing that when she was tested after 18 months of birth, there was no single trace of HIV in her (Praise-God).
Grace said, “My advice for pregnant women is for them to go to hospital to their HIV status. If they are positive, they should start taking their drugs to avoid the baby being infected.
“The ART drugs are working very well. I almost committed suicide five years ago when I tested positive to HIV. I was told that I was pregnant and had HIV. It was as if the entire world was crashing on my head. I went to tell my aunt about the development. She advised that I hid the result from everybody so that I would not have psychological problems.”

Education / Graduating Students Beg Management Over Mass Failure by segzytemi(m): 9:35am On Oct 17, 2013
There is a lingering controversy in the Accounting Department of Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) in Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State.
Of the 78 graduating students that wrote the school’s 2012/2013 final year examination in the department, only 29 were cleared for graduation while the other 49 have been asked to repeat the session.
A source in the department said the affected students’ failure to pass Strategic Management course made the management to take the decision. The students are asking the authorities to wave the course to allow them graduate.
“Initially, 24 students were officially certified for graduation. Along the line, names of five students were slotted in to make it 29. To me, that is curious and I sense foul play,” one of the students told CAMPUSLIFE.
The affected students were said to have made several efforts to persuade the management to allow them graduate with their colleagues, but their plea fell on deaf ears as the management refused to shift ground.
When it became clear that the management would not wave the course, the students were said to have contacted a stakeholder in the university to plead on their behalf. But the university maintained its position that the students would retake the course.
Some of the students, who spoke to CAMPUSLIFE, urged the authorities to consider their situation, saying they could not afford high tuition to be paid next session.
One of them, who pleaded for anonymity, said: “The problem is just a course that we failed. When the result came out, we were surprised there was mass failure. We called for our scripts to be remarked but the management said there was nothing they could do about it. I have never failed a course since I was admitted into this university. It is surprising that I am failing a course for the first time and management is saying I cannot graduate. What that means is that I am going to pay another tuition fee next session to retake the course. This is the height of insensitivity.”
Another student said: “I see no reason our scores should not be upgraded. I still wonder how we all failed that simple course. The university should be considerate and have mercy on us. To pay such a huge amount as tuition to retake the course amounts to exploitation. This should be utterly condemned.”
A parent, who spoke with our correspondent, expressed displeasure over the refusal of the university to wave the course.
She said: “We have made several efforts to persuade the management to allow these students graduate but our pleas have been ignored. Even in federal universities, they still make amendment for graduating students in situations like this one. So, I will have to cough out another N500, 000 again for my child to graduate?”
