@ poster the first picture you have there is of central hospital over a year ago cos that isnt a recent picture at all. on saturday when i drove past sapele road i was surprised at the speed work is gong on there, so please take down that picture of central hospital or else i will drive down there and go snap some pictures for you to add here. oshiomole is overated as all other politicians in Nigeria. if only those before him had even done a lil bit of what he has done we wont be celebrating mediocrity in edo state. its quite unfortunate that we hail those elected for providing for the cutizens with tax payers money, that said to an exetent in some part of benin he has done a good job worth commendation. for the loan thing am strongly against it . i propose that all political office holders should observe one term and scam as most of them always end up messing up at the end of the day. news9ja: |

When I did my project research work in 2005,I had to do eye test for inmates of Nigeria prisons sapele road in benin city also known as white house and to my utter dismay and shock I found a 12years old boy in prison awaiting trial because his oga (a bus driver ) killed a pedestran and ran away. Infact our prison system needs a total overhaul. Many people are in jail for crimes or misdemeanour that community service should have been prescribed. Imagine a man charged with bulglary awaiting trial for 8 years, its so sad. Back to topic a thorough investigation has to be done because Nigerian prisons don't reform but make neophyte criminals hardened it could be related in similitude to a look out for a crime becomes the man to pull the trigger after a prison sentence Akshow: This should be properly investigated. Its an infringement of human right to be locked up without proper hearing talk more of it been children. Lag st govt has some questions to answer. |

When he would be seen later, he had become a lorry driver, even when he was not 18 years old, but very popular, though, because of his expertise on the steering. He was doing this until politics started in 1979 and he became a full-time party thug, reaping bountifully from hooliganism. It was while in this new profession he learnt the use of firearms and quickly became the leader of many of the boys. They gave him another name “Ovbigbo the law”. So it became easy to switch to armed robbery when politics was banned in early n1984. Business was booming, and he was notorious for reckless spending. Here he met Kingsley, and they became partner in crime. They were both friendly with the police too, and that was why he could not allow his friend to die in vain. Sometime in July 1986, he started the war with the Police, and by August, the Police too began a counter attack. Two months later, the Police offensive in Benin City against the prevailing mafia –style armed robbery ran, on the night of October 1 to a sudden, explosive climax of gun fire and blood. At about 9pm and about a hundred meters away from a police road block along Ring Road in the heart of the ancient city, rapid gun shots obviously from superior weaponry, broke the eerie calmness of the night. Just like a textbook replay of any of the deadly efficient attacks of Italy Red Brigade, the notorious terrorist guerrilla group of the late 70s and like the Red Brigade’s victims, who were invariably the cream of the Italian society, the victims of the Benin shoot-out included Commissioner of Police. Yes, the Police Chief was shot! He paid dearly for the attack as his bullet- ridden private car, a new Peugeot 504 station wagon, wobbled to a halt, a bullet tore though the ridge of his nose. Even so, Akagbosu was two times lucky. Police sources said that the first volley of shot jolted him into a reflex action; he jerked his face sideways from its previous straight forward position to ascertain the direction of the attack. This unconscious act was all the insurance he needed against a fatal tragedy because his head, then turned at a sharp angle, was inches off the course of the bullet aimed at it. |
LAWRENCE ANINI, The Robber. The gangster that seized a Nigerian state Small things matter, but little attention is always paid to small matter. When Kingsley Eweka, a prince of Benin was about to be shot for armed robbery in mid 1986, he craned his neck on the stake to tell those asking If he had anything to say: “My friend and his boys will avenge my death!” A smile slipped out the cheeks of the questioners: no one knew his friend, and no one wanted to know. It was a matter for laughter, and since they could not laugh, they sneered. But soon, everyone knew Kingsley’s friend in Bendel State of Nigeria. Yes, Bendel State. There was once a state in Nigeria called Bendel. It was the old Benin and Delta provinces of Western region that was merged on 8 August, 1963 to become Midwestern State, and was changed to Bendel State on 17 March, 1976, That was its name until 27 August, 1991 when it was divided into two: one part named Edo, and the other now called Delta. But in 1986,, it was Bendel, and this was where Kingsley’s friend took his revenge. The friend was a young man called Lawerence Anini. He was born in 1960 to the family of Owuo quarters in Orogbo village, Orhionmwon area of the state. He was brought to Benin as a toddler where he attended Oza Primary School, and was a known truant while in the School. All the same, he completed the school and got admission to Igiedumu Secondary School. He was there for three years before he abandoned it in about 1976 and started learning how to repair motor vehicles. But he spent only three months in the mechanic workshop. What happened was that one day, he was caught in the act when he stole N7 belonging to one of his mates in the garage. When he was seen with the money, he said the money was given to him by his mother to buy drugs for her, but when David Isiokherhe, the master of the shop, threatened that “Juju” would be brought to get the money, he confessed that he indeed stole the money. Immediate search revealed that he had spent N2 out of the money, in less than an hour. He was summarily dismissed. |

LIBEL: Presidency Begs Buhari.. The presidency has convinced former head of state General Muhammadu Buhari to settle out of court the libel suit he had initiated against the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Dr Reuben Abati. Abati had on page 51 of the April 22, 2011, edition of The Guardian newspaper, written an opinion article entitled “For the attention of General Buhari”. In it, he claimed that Buhari made an inciting statement which led to the post-election violence that rocked some parts of the north. The former presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), however, regarded the publication as defamatory, intended to lower his integrity and to bring him into public ridicule. Buhari consequently dragged Abati and The Guardian to court via suit no. ID/837/2011 and demanded N1billion damages from them. But in a copy of the Terms of Settlement exclusively obtained by LEADERSHIP SUNDAY and filed before a Lagos High Court in Ikeja, the parties have agreed to settle the matter out of court. In the terms of settlement dated December 2012 and filed before the administrative judge of Lagos State, Justice Opeyemi Oke, the claimant (Buhari), Mr. Tope Adebayo ( lawyer to Buhari), Abati and Mr. Kunle Sanyaolu (lawyer to The Guardian) signed the terms of settlement. But the lawyer to the first defendant (Abati), Dame Carol Ajie, declined to sign the document. The document quoted the claimant and defendants as having explored the option of amicable settlement of the suit and agreed that, by virtue of the execution of the terms of settlement, all issues relating to the suit should be determined. The parties further agreed that Abati and The Guardian should retract and apologise to Buhari in certain form and contents. The terms of settlement reads in part: “The claimant (Buhari) and defendants (Abati and The Guardian) have agreed that the defendants should publish a retraction and an apology to the claimant on the Opinion Page of the newspaper, to be printed in reverse line black (RLB) within seven days of entering the Consent Terms as the judgment of the court in two editions of The Guardian. “The claimant and defendants have agreed and resolved that the retraction and apology shall take the following form and contents: ‘Re: For the attention of General Buhari’- On April 22, 2011, The Guardian Newspaper published an article on Page 51 titled ‘For the attention of General Buhari’ where certain allegations were made against General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), GCFR, concerning the 2011 election and General Buhari’s alleged role in the violence emanating from the elections. “The publication was based on information which we believed to be reliable at that time. Since the publication, however, we now have reason to believe that certain parts of the story were not verified to be correct before the publication. “We assure General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), GCFR, of our highest esteem and regret any distress or embarrassment which the said publication may have caused him. “The claimant and defendants agree that on the execution of these Terms of Settlement, the defendants are discharged from all or any liabilities or obligations arising from the said publication.” Abati had stirred the hornet’s nest in the said column when he wrote that Buhari made an inciting statement after the 2011 presidential poll thus: “You should never leave polling centres until polls are counted and the winner declared and you should lynch anybody that tries to tinker with the votes .Read more! http:///3VYF71Iy |

Well, there is a new development in the story now, as her boyfriend has confessed to the Police that he killed Wunmi. He just didn’t confess, but a source said Wunmi’s parents didn’t believe his story that she was shot by armed robbers, so they had to invoke her spirit (a common practice in many parts of Nigeria, particularly where the circumstances surrounding the death of a person is suspicious. When this is done, the killer is tormented by the spirit of the deceased until he or she confesses.) Wunmi After being continuously tormented, the alledged boyfriend is said to have confessed to the murder this morning. So many people so many times ask that same question. So many people go through confusing times within their own personal relationship to make it last. How are you going to find out when to end a relationship? That question is being asked by a lot of people and the answer lies within communicating to each other. Knowing some key points to concentrate will help you accomplish this. Discussion will take place in understanding how important and vital it is to give the relationship one last try. Knowing that the relationship is important to you then asking some vital questions will be important to ask. You need to know if the respect in the relationship is still there and keeping you together for some hope. By the end of this article read you should be able to figure out a plan of action. You will have a roadmap of guidelines that you can use to determine whether or not you should save the relationship or walk away. Okay let’s dive into the first point stated which is giving the relationship the benefit of the doubt to try and work things out. Relationships don’t go south right at the beginning. Only after a period of time do relationships start having trouble. If you feel that you once had something special between you two then you need to keep that thought alive. You will need to understand that the effort is worth the result based on your instincts. Taking the easy way out of a relationship and calling it quits is what a lot of people do. Sure it’s easier that way and a bit painful but it’s just temporary. People sometimes don’t want to face the facts that there is something wrong between you two and take the easy way out. Remembering that anything worthwhile takes patience and understanding. You need to find out if the relationship can be saved by talking and grasping what the real problem is. The key to saving a relationship is asking some pointed questions. The answers to your questions will determine when to end a relationship.Questions or thinking about the past is the key here. You need to ask yourself whether or not trust has been broken. If you don’t know where your partner’s mind is then has the trust been broken? Trust in not communicating to each other what each other wants to do in life. Trust in the fact that infidelity has gotten into the relationship. In order to find out what’s wrong you need to ask these type questions and how it got to be this way. Last but not least we have to discuss the issue of respect. Without respect you don’t have anything to hold together in a relationship. You need to know to have respect because that’s what keeps each other bonded. Has the basic social values changed between you two? Are times tough enough for either one of you to forsake the social values that you both stood for? These are tough questions to ask but they are needed to find out whether or not the relationship is redeemed. If your relationship has gone south and you still want a opportunity to save it then you need to take an evaluation of it right now. You need to at least try and find out what the core problems are. You need to ask the critical questions referred and understanding whether or not respect for each other is still there. Whether this relationship is between two people that have been together for a long time or a marriage relationship; the emotions are the same. Knowing from personal experience that the effort to stay together is worth it than splitting apart. There are so many trials and tribulations within a relationship that it’s all part of the big picture of life. Can you handle it? If you succeed then consider yourself a winner in life. If you can’t and you’ve tried the best you can then you are also a winner. But don’t quit without trying. It’s worth the effort if the relationship is repairable. Are you experiencing a breakup in your world? That happens to a lot of people and you want things to be different? You want to have that relationship that you once had back together again. Every time this sort of thing happens it doesn’t get any easier to cope with. This relationship reveals some strong emotions that emanate from you. Let’s see if I can spot some of them. Do you feel at odds with yourself without him? That is a normal feeling to have. Now that he is out of your life do you feel lonelier? Are you trying to mastermind a strategy to get him back at any cost? Regaining your relationship doesn’t have to be complicated at all. In fact you just have to change the way you approach the situation. Prior to the relationship turning south was it going too fast? Were you giving hints of a strong relationship as in marriage even though you were still dating? If he wasn’t ready for that type of commitment then you may have gotten him scared off. People act that way.Unless they are ready for a lifelong relationship that type of talk has to be handled very diplomatically. It could have been that he felt emotionally bound before himself making a decision that he wanted a marriage relationship. Each individual in the relationship really has to make that decision on their own and not be obligated to make it for them. Maybe he felt too much pressure to follow while you were together with your demands. Not wishes but demands. Now understanding this view of human psychology you may need to take heed of yourself and your own personality. Are you dominating? Do you make statement ultimatums? You don’t have to answer to me but to yourself about this and be honest about it. Men need to feel independent and need to feel that they are in charge of circumstances. They definitely need to have their distance from time to time. Once a person feels trapped into a relationship without fully understanding it they may jolt out of the gate. In this case it may have happened that your boyfriend just needs time and space to figure out what they really want in life. Relationships are like the game of chess. There are no quick moves in chess. You have to think 2 or 3 moves ahead of the current move. When you are dating the subject of marriage and long term commitment has to come naturally and on equal grounds. Once things start getting too fast and assumptions are made that the male doesn’t agree too then you start having troubles. If they feel they aren’t ready then they’re not. If they feel pushed into a certain direction they certainly won’t feel comfortable. To make sure that he wants a long term relationship you have to let him want it as much as you do. If he has gone out of your life temporarily you have to let it go for now. If he has gone into his own space and you really want to get back together again you will have to be very smart and selective on what you say from this point on. Do not force the issue and you’ll have to start all over again re establishing the relationship that you once had. In fact just let him know that you aren’t pushing any type of agenda and let him know that you are available for him to talk anytime. You need to let him feel like he’s calling the shots and that it’s on his direction for the relationship to get back on track. Since there is no direction right now and you’ve let him know you’re still interested you need to make him feel like he’s chasing you. Once you do get back in a dialogue let him know of how important relationships are to you. Let him know that you aren’t in the dating game per se but really looking for a long term commitment and leave it at that. In order to get what you want out life you have to dramatize it a bit. About The Author Being in a relationship requires a commitment that is long lasting. However a relationship requires constant attention and from time to time things need to be patched up a bit. Spats will happen because that is human nature. If you want less of this type of stress in your relationship then you owe it to yourself to check out the following information guide to lessen the tension that relationships can inevitably bring. Go visit The Magic Of Making Up (Get Your Ex Back). to see what I mean |

Clap for yourself. So what message have you passed across or what is the aim of this post of yours? allycat: I laugh in Chinese, I am one of the sacked doctors and I laugh at those jubilating over the sack of doctors. For your information all those big guns in Alausa have access to the phone numbers of all sacked consultants. So while the common man waits for the newly employed doctors to treat them, the Alausa guys call the consultants and make arrangements to see them privately and are ready to pay through the nose for this service. By the time they fly abroad they have already received the best care possible here cos they have the cash to pay- your cash. |

Next time you fall ill, go and consult a roadside mechanic. It is just such moronic opinions that are egging the LASG on. Let me tell you the next phase: watch as the doctors deploy the "nuclear" option and work becomes grounded in ALL hospitals both state and federal in Lagos; then you will know why doctors earn more all over the world and not just in Nigeria alone. |
You took the words right out of my mouth kingoflag: Seriously, and I'm asking this out of concern: WHY ARE IGBOS QUICK TO RESORT TO "TRIBE" WHEN YOU CANT GET YOUR POINT ACROSS? WHY ARE YOU GUYS ALWAYS QUICK TO INSULT OTHER'S PARENTS OR REFER TO SE*XUAL ORIFICES FOR NO REASON? |

D'Banj has finally moved on with better things after his reported split with his former boss, Don Jazzy some weeks ago. According to the latest report, the Kokomaster has been signed by a top United Kingdom record label, Mercury Records. He has already been listed on the label's official website as one of its artistes alongside top UK singer, Elton John. Mercury Records is also a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, which Island Def Jam (IDJ) is also a subsidiary of, a label D'Banj claims to also belong to, going by his twitter profile: DB/Good Music/Mercury/IDJ. D,Banj is expected to officially release his Oliver Twist single on May 14. http://www.nigeriafilms.com/news/16908/3/dbanj-joins-elton-john-after-split-with-don-jazzy.html

Don Jazzy took offence with the spoof that called himself and the Mo’Hits team a new recruits into the Illuminati cult as he tweeted the following on social networking site, Twitter: @DONJAZZY (Michael Collins) hahahahahaha this is the dumbest story i have ever read. guys pls read. i don laff tire /qr6Fk9 DONJAZZY Michael Collins its stories like this about me that makes me doubt that the shit exists in the first place. /qr6Fk9 hisssss. DONJAZZY Michael Collins instead of the idiot to say they want promo for their site. RT @Ekpedekumoebila: Who’s d fool behind dat?! *SMH* The story read: Finally there is incontrovertible proof that Nigerian superstar entertainer, D’Banj, and other members of Mo’Hits record label headed by prolific producer, Don Jazzy, are 100% confirmed members of the uber-evil secret cult, the Illuminati. The undeniable evidence was provided by artistes of the record label themselves, causing Nigerians to philosophically comment that ‘they have used their own hands to do themselves.’ The evidence in question is a video clip produced by the record label in which D’Banj, Don Jazzy, Dr Sid, Wande Coal and an unidentified man dance like gay men to D’Banjs’ new hit single, Oliver Twist. Dr Zen Solonso, a Zen expert and an expert on everything Illuminati, analysed the video and exposed all the hidden Illuminati symbols in it. According to him, one of the biggest objectives of the Illuminati is to turn everybody gay – this is why their known members like Kanye West, dress like Gay men. It would be recalled that D’Banj and Don Jazzy have recently signed up to Kanye Wests’ record label. In the group’s Oliver Twist video, they did not only dance like gay men, they also invite people to record their own Oliver videos and post it to them at oliver@mohitsrecords.com. And they even further enticed people with thousands of dollars that will be paid to the best video. Already there are lots of videos on Youtube showing young people, both boys and girls, dancing like gay men to the Oliver Twist song. Dr Solonso also pointed out that in the group’s video Don Jazzy is wearing what looks like chequered trousers. “This alternating pattern of white and black squares is the Illuminati’s mind control method,” he said. Indeed, according to the expert, the song’s catchy tune and highly danceable sound is down to Don Jazzy’s pants. Dr Solonso also pointed out that at some point in the video the unidentified man walks across the camera, holding a red bag and what looks like an enchanted horn. Finally, the expert drew attention to the sound speakers and other electronic equipment arranged to spell the word ILLUMINATI behind the artistes as they dance like gay men. This, according to him, is the strongest evidence that the video, the song, and the invitation for people to film their own Oliver Twist videos are nothing but an Illuminati plot to turn Nigerians gay http://www.nigeriafilms.com/news/13367/7/don-jazzy-addresses-the-illuminati-story.html |

No foreigner operates with such calm and swagger in the heart of Igboland unless given pass by the locals. They have already attacked THREE times within the same area in under 2 days. I'm not blaming anyone, but the police should search themselves. Why are they singled out for repeat attacks? This is unprecedented in the East. |
