Covid-19 in Nigeria. Over the weekend, Friday to be precise. My neighbor's son sustained a head injury while playing with his fellow kids and was rushed to the general hospital in my area here. The little boy wasn't sick o. Just a head injury that happened in my presence while we were outside discussing. On Sunday, I went to check on the boy to see how he was doing, he was already playing with other kids though his head is still bandaged. I started talking with his mom and she told me what now seems to be the new trend as regards Covid-19 in Nigeria. She showed me the receipt issued to her by the hospital. It was marked Covid-19, case 353. I was surprised to see that. She said when she saw the receipt, she asked the nurse what was the meaning of that? That her son isn't a Covid-19 patient. The nurse told her not to worry, that it means nothing. That she was only doing what was required of her. So she shouldn't worry. According to the woman, she was still worried seeing that on her receipt but the nurse further reassured her and told her that if she doesn't do that, she could be issued a query. Wow! What this means is that, according the receipt, the boy is case 353 treated and discharged. Can you imagine that?! That is possibly the new trend now at government hospitals. Once you're sick and visits a government hospital, you're a Covid-19 patient. If she hadn't shown me that receipt, I wouldn't have believed what she told me yesterday. And you keep wondering why we can't see common pictures of patients in the isolation centers. Common pictures o. All we see everyday are numbers upon numbers. Let me leave it here for now. *unverified |
Life has returned to normalcy in Madagascar. No lockdown! No forced holidays! People are going about their business. Reports say on March 23rd they had 9 confirmed coronavirus cases, and in one month precisely on April 25, they had 122 cases. When coronavirus was first detected in the country, WHO predictated that they were at the verge of unmitigated disaster. In general, as at today 25th April, Magadascar has no coronavirus cases and 100% recoveries , with NO SINGLE DEATH--ZERO DEATH. WHY? HOW DID IT HAPPEN? The young President looked inwards. I have been condemning "copy and paste", stlye of leadership of African leaders. A few who decide to look inwards have had better results. Madagascar's President Andry Rajoelina believes that Madagascar could possess a remedy to coronavirus, and manufactured a local herb, which the country is using to treat patients. WHO got mad!!! World Health Organization condemned his medicine because it was made in Africa, not in US, Europe, Asia or Australia. WHO didn't try to investigate the 100% success story of the concoction and see if it could be adopted or modified. They condemned it, against its 100% EXCELLENT RESULTS.... Please who does that kind of thing? This is why l will continue to question WHO's integrity in this whole horrible pandemic. The Magadascar medicine is called “Covid Organic” or “CVO”. The President has made it compulsory for the citizens. He drank it on National television, live. Most vulnerable citizens and school children are given the medicine free of charge. World Health Organization should know that facts and results don't lie. And there is nothing they can do against it. Oh, how we need the young President of Magadascar with brain, to lead real African revolution against the slavery of China and the rest of neocolonial masters. Copied... |

It appears a good number of young men are still ignorant of the dangers of unprotected sex. Unfortunately, lives, careers, destinies etc are being destroyed by this everyday. I remember seeing this Gold Circle advert some years back that says "WITH CONDOM,I DEY KAMPE". I think Oliseh was the brand ambassador.I believed the advert to my detriment. Because I was being barraged by this kind of uncontrollable sexual urge that happen to young men, I decided to ease myself with some sex workers. Definitely with the assurance that condom will protect me. So, the first night, I approached one of the workers, and asked: "Please,do they sell food here?" Her reply was: "Food? Them no dey sell food here oo. Na fuock them dey sell." So, I followed her to her room to buy some. However, I didn't really get value for my money. The reason is simple- No love. It was just mechanical, and you're being rushed. Not satisfied from the transaction, I decided to try another seller... and another... and another. One of the nights, something spectacular happened. After the transaction, I tried removing the condom by myself. And it touched my laps in the process. I noticed an itch on that spot. A few days later, from the point of the itch, I noticed some movements inside my body. "Ants" moving inside me like they are being circulated by my blood. The movements were increasing everyday and later developed to bites by the "ants" When I went to the lab for urine culture, the result showed a growth of Staphylococus aureus. So, I took the recommended antibiotics. It calmed down only to start again after a few months. After sometime, I got to know about a resistant strain of staph called MRSA. It wasn't a good experience. So, when I read recently young men getting into trouble because they went to buy food unprotected, I thought it necessary to warn them that protection does not even protect. Maybe Naira Marley was right. |
