POLITICSNIGERIA.COM

Activist, Deji Adeyanju has weighed in on a brewing crisis in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Adeyanju, who is also a former spokesman of the party, disclosed that certain elements of the party are not in support of former vice president, Atiku Abubakar’s bid to contest for the party’s ticket again in 2023.

He revealed that Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal and Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed are the two politicians currently being considered for the party’s 2023 presidential ticket.

Controversy as suspended Osun PDP chairman refuses to vacate office
He wrote on social media; “PDP stakeholders want to present Tambuwal or Bala Mohd both serving Govs as presidential candidate & someone from South as VP in 2023.”

“They say everybody is tired of the Dubai man with dollars. Why won’t you guys present him now? I want to see you guys in opposition for 16yrs.”

“Many of them are so pained the man abandoned their party after election & relocated to Dubai for 2yrs but is now back to start campaign for another ticket. The only way PDP can get real sense is if they spend 16yrs in opposition. APC should present an acceptable candidate in 2023.”

“Another calculation is that if APC gives GEJ ticket for just 4yrs, Bala Mohd and some PDP governors will defect with him and the PDP might become empty but the law has technically barred Jonathan from contesting next election.”

Interestingly Nice to know...they should disqualify those other people mentioned if they want to be taken seriously.
@fahdiga1 up there what we need is a young visionary leader with a high level of empathy irrespective of regional affiliation.

PDP & APC are a disgrace based on their past & present leadership antecedents. They are all shaken from the #ENDSARS protests that took the FG by surprise and abruptly brought an end to the rising atrocities of the SARS division of NPF.
They should also be expecting this once a young visionary aspirant comes out or shows up, and there are plans by some Political Young Class to achieve this reason there are political actors in YDP.
The new normal is an emphatic NO more recycling of old greedy cohorts of political actors!

Come 2023 we youths must create a paradigm shift for better leaders.

PoliticsRe: Business Leaders Commend VP's Personal Devotion To MSMEs by Seniorwriter(m): 10:11am On Jun 23, 2021
presidency:
STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

WE WILL CONTINUE IMPROVING BUSINESS CLIMATE, OSINBAJO ASSURES ORGANIZED PRIVATE SECTOR IN RENEWED ENGAGEMENT

AFCTA implementation in focus
Business leaders commend VP's personal devotion to MSMEs

The Federal Government will continue to interact and engage with the Organised Private Sector (OPS) in the country, while improving the country’s business climate, in the full knowledge that the sector is the real engine room of growth and development, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.

Prof. Osinbajo made this observation during a virtual interaction this afternoon with representatives and business leaders from the OPS, including the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA); Nigeria Employers' Consultative Association (NECA), Nigerian Association of Small-Scale Industrialists (NACCI) and the Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME).

The OPS delegation led by its Chairman, Mr. Taiwo Adeniyi, made a presentation on the progress of the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement, with suggestions and proposals about its future.

Responding, the Vice President while welcoming the presentation, noted that "the private sector is the engine of growth, there is no way the Federal Government can do anything in the economy without the private sector. Our role is to make it easy for the sector to operate, and we are committed to that."

He told the delegation that with the relationship already established between the FG and the OPS, "we shall follow up with all the issues raised and look forward to other engagements with you all."

Members of the OPS delegation commended the Buhari administration for the continued interaction with the body over time.

According to Adeniyi, there has been a general optimism especially among medium-scale businesses that the AfCFTA will generate positive effects on the Nigerian economy.

Speaking later on behalf of the delegation the President of NASME, Mr. Orimadegun Agboade, praised the Vice President for his “personal attention to MSMEs Clinics, describing the VP’s support as “more than what we can express.” He added, “We are very grateful. God will continue to empower you."

The virtual interaction has also attended the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, among other senior government officials.

Canada is going through the right channel to regulate their SM system of viewership and not trying to ban freedom to express or access by canadians as a Democratic society.

The incompetent leaders in Nigeria didn't do such ..rather they decided to ban and even threaten citizens whereas their colleagues are glaringly still using the platform.

November1857:
Senate President Lawan Blames Saraki For Buhari, APC Failure

The Saraki-led National Assembly endured a torrid relationship with the executive, as it sought to assert its authority as the second tier of government.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan has attributed the failure of the All Progressives Congress government under President Muhammadu Buhari to the power struggle between the executive and the National Assembly during Bukola Saraki's tenure.

Saraki served as the 13th President of the Senate of Nigeria during President Buhari's first term from 2015 to 2019.

According to Lawan, who succeeded Saraki, the All Progressives Congress government could not fulfil its electoral promises to the electorate during its first term because the two bodies did not have a cordial relationship.

Lawan said this at the First Progressives Youth Conference 2021, on Monday night in Abuja, PeoplesGazette reports.

He said, "When we were voted in 2019 as leaders of the National Assembly, we were conscious of one thing, that the mandate that was given to us by Nigerians in 2015 had suffered disruption and dislocation.

"For four years (2015 to 2019), our government could not perform optimally because of the then crisis between the parliament – the National Assembly – and the Executive arm of government.

"So, A.P.C. had already lost four very important years. And, that was supposed to be the year that we should have convinced Nigerians that they took the right decision by voting out a PDP administration in 2015."

The Saraki-led National Assembly endured a torrid relationship with the executive, as it sought to assert its authority as the second tier of government.

The Senate in 2018 rejected Buhari's request for $1billion for the purchase of arms. It also refused to confirm former head of anti-graft agency Ibrahim Magu as EFCC chairman.

The upper legislative chamber also had brushes with some heads of government agencies and cabinet members such as Customs boss Hamid Ali, former finance minister Kemi Adeosun. It sacked Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.

PoliticsRe: APC Primaries: Wilson Chidozie Accused Of Presenting Fake WAEC Certificate (Pix) by Seniorwriter(m): 8:47am On Jun 23, 2021
RocketHarbalTea:
APC PRIMARIES: WILSON CHIDOZIE, WICHTECH CEO, TRIES TO BEWITCH INEC WITH FAKE WAEC CERTIFICATE

The list of Nigerian politicians who have presented fictitious certificates keeps stretching longer. It is, to put it mildly, shameful and humiliating. Nigerians are considered to be the finest educated black people in the world, according to one US report, and are among the most educated immigrants in the country, both vertically and horizontally - Nigerians are now ironically poster-characters for fraudulent certifications, 419 qualifications, and dubious academic affiliation, which is disgusting.

A shocking yet revealing discovery was made recently about Anambra governorship aspirant, Wilson Chidozie. The WAEC certificate of the CEO of a large Nigerian construction conglomerate, Wichtech, has been discovered to be fake.

The said WAEC certificate was issued in December 2004 which implies that Wilson Chidozie sat for his WAEC examinations at the age of 39. This is exceedingly improbable.

An in-depth research into his history and a thorough study of his biography in his recent publications indicate some mistiness around his secondary school education. None of the publications reveal that he ever sat for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

Furthermore, specialists who examined the certificate thoroughly found that multiple modifications had been done, and as a result, many of the details supplied on the certificate are suspicious. According to them, the name on the certificate looks to have been attached, and the passport image appears to be that of someone other than the certificate's owner.

Wilson Chidozie has been unable to give an actual copy of his presumed WAEC certificate till now, confirming suspicions. In order to play on the intelligence of INEC officials, APC stakeholders, and the naive people of Anambra, all he had to display was a string of funny-looking photocopies. This is a heinous crime that might cast further doubt on other APC’s candidates for the Anambra 2021 gubernatorial elections.

He who seeks equity must do so with clean hands, hence anyone calling for free, fair, and credible APC primaries must first provide legitimate documents before being allowed to run. APC is anticipated to spring into action to protect the party's image from such a heinous act.

We don't like illegal immigrants because;
1. Cheap labour
2. Involvement in criminal activities, we have our own criminals we dont want anymore.
3. They're a burden to our infrastructure; schools ,hospitals etc.

Now tell me ,why are you such a tribalistic country ? Why are so toxic to fellow Nigerians ? Why is there so much hate between muslims & Christians ( both Nigerians ). ?
You didn't answer my question....i didn't ask about illegal immigrants..my question is why are many SA citizens toxic.
It's quite evident so much that they killed LUCKY DUBE as a result of this trait.
I'm sure it wasn't an illegal immigrant that stole the President's IPad on National TV?
Nigeria is multitribal(thousands if tribes) about three thousand tribes so tribalism is expected in such situations since the leaders can't find a way to unify them.

I think they stole my iPad’: Ramaphosa puzzled as gadget goes Awol

President Cyril Ramaphosa briefly misplaced his iPad before making an important announcement. File photo.
President Cyril Ramaphosa briefly misplaced his iPad before making an important announcement.

Moments before delivering an important announcement in Cape Town on Tuesday, President Cyril Ramaphosa, who is a stickler for time, had a moment of panic when he could not locate his iPad.

His announcement that the National Ports Authority was now an independent subsidiary of Transnet was briefly delayed because he was unable to find the device which contained his speech, bringing comic relief into the room.

After being introduced to the podium by acting presidency spokesperson Tyrone Seale, Ramaphosa said in jest: “I am looking for my iPad. Somebody stole my iPad.

“Somebody decided they want to dispossess me of my iPad, so I want that. Can I have my iPad please? They stole it.”

Ramaphosa, who looked genuinely puzzled, then said: “I had my iPad.”

Holding the microphone and looking sideways, he asked Seale: “Do you know where they took my iPad to?

“This is the problem of always handing your gadgets to other people. It is always best that I should keep all these things with me all the time.”

Looking at Seale, a seemingly confused Ramaphosa said: “I had my iPad. I had it in my hand. It’s gone. I have lost it, it seems.”

The president rarely deviates from his written speeches.

Seale asked Ramaphosa to take a seat while officials tried to locate the device.

Seale later reintroduced the guests and invited Ramaphosa back to the podium. With his iPad in hand, the president thanked guests for their patience and made his announcement.
