House leader, *Hon Femi Gbajabiamila* who bought a G wagon Mercedes allegedly valued at 100 million Naira, branded with special plate number: *ASSURANCE* for his wife as a present for her 50th birthday came under attack in his Law school WhatsApp group *class of 84*. The tantrums below:

*PART 1*
This is Femi G's response:

My dear “friends” I thank you for all your comments. I ordinarily was going to keep a dignified silence on this whole sordid matter and indeed I have. This is the first comment I am making in all of this. I honestly thought this was a platform of classmates and of lawyers. I thought the legal training was that there were 2 sides to every story and maybe sometimes even a 3rd. Many have said you’re only saying the truth but I don’t know how one gets to the truth by hearing only one side and not giving the benefit of doubt but passing a hurried judgment. I would have expected those who seek the truth to reach out even if privately like Frank did. 3 of our classmates were at this very small private gathering of family and friends namely Candide Johnson, Mike Igbokwe ,and Folabi Martins.
Now What are the issues
1. My wife of 26 years who I love to death turned 50 and I decided to do something special for her. Her 50th did not happen unexpectedly. I knew a couple of years God sparing her life she would turn 50 and I prepared for it. This is a woman who has been with me through thick and thin and stood as a pillar of support and who at one time was the breadwinner. Hell I may even have saved up for it or sold an old car to make up the numbers you guys do not know. I believe the cost of a vehicle pales into insignificance when you consider the sacrifices our wives make on the daily.
2. We are all educated and can look up the cost of the car. Not even half of the 100m in social media.
3. What I wear is non of y’alls business as I’m sure there will be people who’s attire or jewelry or shoes on this platform I may not like but will not deride them for it.
4. I had a tear to plan for this and I did.
5. We had a family gathering and few friends of about 30 in all in my house for thanks giving and prayers. It was a breakfast get together. My wife’s pastor prayed Gave a sermon, praise n worship and guests had breakfast. The whole affair was meant to have ended by 6. Unfortunately some people came after work as it was a weekday.
6. I purchased my wife’s car from the US and unfortunately the car was delayed at the ports for 4 days. She was meant to get her gift at midnight of her birthday in the privacy of our home.
7. I called Mr Folabi Martins the day before her birthday ( he happens to be the lawyer to Maersk the shipping co) and he made frantic efforts to call the md.
8. Man proposes God disposes and there was little I could do the car never came.
9. It came as a surprise to me when the car was driven by the agents into my compound at 7.30 pm with a few guests and my family members still present. There was little I could do.
10. How the above facts can draw such vitriol from this platform shocks me to the marrow but then like they say it is what it is.
11. My “brother” who commented above that I crave publicity or wanted this on social media I’m sorry we may be classmates but you do not know me.
12. Guys I have paid my dues in this country. I did not gift a car to a girlfriend like many do. I gave it to my WIFE!!
13. Now assuming this was a public display which it most certainly wasn’t does it warrant the things I am reading on this platform the extent of venom and crucifixtion from you guys ? Or is there something else here ?
14. I must say a big thank you to Frank and to Afolabi who has called me severally and stood in support. I also thank you Mike Igbokwe for the staunch support you put up on anothe platform of yours.
15. I am surprised that no one here is discerning to see that this is a political hatchet job but I will continue to focus on my work. Enough said
God bless our class of 84

*PART 2*
HIS CLASSMATES REACTS
Below......

God bless the class of 84 indeed!

My dear brother, your explanation is well taken and understood. If I truly take you as a brother (and I do even if in speaking the truth, it appears otherwise), then I must say it as I feel it. Now, I know this may earn me instant and swift condemnation from those eager to please. But believe me that many here may not fully buy into your explanation but do not want to get involved as it may not be considered politically expedient to do so. And I don't blame them, that is the Nigerian clime. However, I am not a politician. I have never been one and do not ever plan to be one. Nor have I sought or received political patronage. I am a man who says it as I see it and if I cannot freely air my sincere views in a platform of classmates (provided I am not breaching any of our rules) then I have no business being here. I might as well exit. But since I have no such plans, I crave everyone's indulgence to say my piece.

My brother, the point is that ours is an impoverished and depressed economy with the vast majority living below subsistence level. Minimum pay by the FG is N18,000 if I am correct. Many do not even earn that. State governments are owing workers several months arrears in salaries. Many barely eke out a living. Life is short and brutish and hard for most even for young university graduates. I am told that most fresh Lawyers in Abuja earn anything between N50,000 and N150,000 monthly. In our time, we could buy a car (even if it was 3rd hand) after our NYSC. Not for today's graduate except the very few whose parents can assist them. The cost of living is astronomically and unbearably high. People are dying of starvation.

As an *elected public official paid from the public coffers* a certain level of sensitivity to our economic reality is expected. A higher standard is expected. If one was entirely in the private sector, few will bat an eyelid on what one does with his or her resources, no matter how earned. But in a clime where there is so much corruption in the system, where political office is seen as the gateway to a "good" life, it behooves a holder of such office to be very circumspect in his public or private display of wealth. Why? Most don't care to know how one acquired his or her wealth! All they know is that such a person is a political office holder! And we all know what that is interpreted to mean in our country - rightly or wrongly. That one worked hard and earned one's wealth prior to holding office is immaterial to most. Being a politician holding public office puts that person in the eye of the storm. Such persons almost cannot have a private life. In civilized climes, all actions are scrutinized, one's private business as a public office holder becomes everybody's business. Ask Donald Trump and other public office holders in western democracies. That is the truth!

I personally do not think that most of those who expressed themselves on the pf today were being hastily judgemental without hearing the other side as being alleged. More so, as the basic facts as tendered through the video have not really been rebutted. While I may be wrong, I do not want to believe anyone was playing politics either. On the contrary, I believe most on this pf are proud of the achievements of our classmates particularly those considered the shining lights of the class - whether in politics, the judiciary, industry and other spheres of life. I personally feel tall when I tell people my classmate is so and so in my country. But must we act dumb and turn a blind eye when we should speak up and give counsel in truth and love? Methink not so.

I still maintain that *a public officer paid by public funds*, (no matter who it is) in the midst of a poverty stricken economy ought to show utmost restraint, modesty and sensitivity in the display of wealth - whether acquired legitimately or not particularly in the light of our present circumstances as a nation.

For someone in public office, there are many ways to show deep appreciation to loved ones without attracting undue attention to oneself. Truth is that in an age ruled by social media, there is hardly anything we do that involves more than two people that does not have the potential of going viral particularly when done by someone *in the eye of the public.* Having come this far in life, we have all certainly paid our dues. And no one should begrudge us some of the luxuries of life. However, when it comes to a *holder of an office paid for by tax payers*, the way and manner of expressing oneself becomes very pertinent. I repeat, there is a higher standard of modesty required of such a person. We pontificate on this pf about the ills in our society. We try to proffer solutions, ways forward, we condemn the condemnable and praise the praiseworthy, etc.

My brothers and sisters, we are no longer kids, obviously we are adults - senior citizens! We should be able to tell ourselves the honest truth - in love - and without fear or favor otherwise our avowed oneness is fake and superficial. As Gramps Uye will always remind us ... the man died who kept silent ... when he should speak up.

I have spoken up as I feel - with absolutely no ill will towards any. So, if I have hurt anyone's feelings in expressing mine, accept my deep apologies. For me, this is done. Now, I go sidon look and I know that inspite of my appeal, the bullets will come flying so, let them come *Never Alone!* God bless NLS class of 1984!

His best friend my foot, who also is a coke head and has been his support through his egregious life stealing clients money in Atlanta and even at, that still being made a government official with responsibility to his people. A leopard cannot change his spots!!
The debauchery is sickening and his outright display of decadence and venality is an insult to the Nigerian populace.
He should be stripped of his his political apparatus and be made an example for all to see and maybe, just maybe things might start to change.
And the stupid Alcoholic anonymous ladies in the video that were cheering him on also are depraved and deprived, when we stop singing the praises of corrupt and immoral public officers who use the money that belong to all Nigerians for their own personal and selfish aggrandizement and we start stoning them, then we can start talking about rebuilding this Nation! The ladies in the stupid and clownish looking head gears too should be ashamed , it’s because of people like them that the poor suffer in Nigeria-
It is enough, nobody cares bout his stupid Mea culpa.
He should have thought his actions through if the people he is supposed to serve meant anything to him.

I bumped into this recent pictures of Tinubu (the first picture) and I was like "what tha fuc*k

God forbids.
Reading comments by some people about your opinion (though you need to change the heading in my opinion) shows we have a long way to go as per reorienting youths on the ills of voting OLD senile corrupt leaders whom are nothing but just power & wealth greedy.
I'll make more comments if this makes FrontPage.
Howbeit I wonder how some persons feel that old persons like BAT and his likes can plan for a future when he is already old and have little or nothing to get from such future.
The youths must wake up and realize that only a Visionary Youth can create good futuristic approach to a better Nigeria.

OneTemplate:
Lol. This is why people like you are even more dangerous and offensive than the OP you chided for offensive language.

With your attempt at polite language your message is still offensive. In fact very offensive that anyone with elders he loves can brand them senile merely because they are advanced in years.

Tinubu's Lagos is understudied every single day home and abroad. From the tax system of the State to its PPP success, it is crystal clear Tinubu is one of the most effective, most innovative and best solutions-provider Nigeria has ever known plus a Supreme manager of leaders.

Lagos has only gotten better and moved forward, never backwards, since Tinubu became Governor in 1999 and ensure continuity of effective leadership consolidates the success of the State to date.

No other State in Nigeria can claim similar. Not even a single one.

It is therefore amazing that you want to deploy age discrimination and possibly personal ethnocentric bias to disqualify Tinubu from a race all sound adults knows he is the best candidate for if fit and healthy and if leaders are to be judged squarely on their records as leaders.

Sorry to say it but you are really very backwards and lacking exposure if you think age has anything to do with effective leadership. Men of Tinubu's age are not prevented from leading in the best and most progressive societies of the world for a reason.

We have seen the likes of FFK, when he became a Minister, Dimeji Bankole, Yahya Bello and many others prove that being young alone does not make anyone a good leader while some of the best leaders in the world, like Angela Merkel, are of advanced years.

Obvious a wise and exposed person will simply look at the competence of candidates and not their age alone. Yet Nigerians are always condemned to think in a backward, discriminatory and illogical manner.
Your logic has no credence...youthfulness is a strong characteristics for leadership!
There is a new awakening and that is the campaign for young visionary leadership
and Nigeria has such persons in abundance than to opt for someone old who will always want to travel abroad for health treatments rather than use such resources for better policies implementations.
Your argument is your opinion and doesn't have credence going by comparison if a Young Visionary Leader is better off than an Old Leader.
Check out most of the western countries you'll find them inducting Young Nigerians into their cabinets or do you think they don't see old Nigerians they could induct too...
If you think my post is offensive because I'm of the campaign for Young Visionary Leadership then that's your own problem.
However Nigeria needs a paradigm shift from recycling same old people for governance and leadership positions...capish.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 5 Ways To Get A Job Without Experience. by Seniorwriter(m): 9:20pm On Jun 16, 2021
Easyincome24:
You need the experience to get a job but you need a job to get experience.

How do you get started if you are freshly out of college?

How do you start gathering experience if you have not worked in your area of specialization before and looking forward to working?

This article examines 5 ways to land a job without experience.

1. Do not shy away from the truth

The mistake most job seekers make is trying to be diplomatic about their lack of experience. The truth is irrespective of how much falsehood has been sold, honesty pays. If you don’t have the required experience for the job, don’t shy away from this. Construct a very catchy cover letter and be open about your lack of experience.

2. Focus on the things you have

Beyond not having the required experience, focus on the things you have. Experience matters but there are other things like the right kind of attitude, motivation, and resilience. All these are necessary to do a good job. Let what you have cover up for the things you don’t have.

3. Think through the experience you don’t know you have

Most time, we are too focused on the experience attached to the job that we ignore some experience we have. Think back to some little jobs you have done but did not count as experience. For instance, if you have ever organized a successful meeting before, this can be counted as an admin experience. Think deeply before you put down your lack of experience in your cover letter.

4. Get some experience

If you keep waiting to get a job before gathering experience, you might wait for too long. Brush up your level of experience by doing some voluntary work. An internship is a good place to start.

5. Get on platforms that can help you land your dream job.

Getting jobs without experience can be very difficult. To reduce your worry, get on as many professional platforms as you can.

Some of these platforms include Indeed, LinkedIn, and Bixex. Indeed is ideal for job vacancy notification. However, LinkedIn and Bixex do not just post the job openings, you get to meet professionals on the platform.

Opening an account on Bixex does not only position you to meet professionals but also helps you learn and grow.

Bixex also has different professional and educating communities. As a job seeker on Bixex, beyond connecting with business professionals, join communities, and promote yourself by sharing posts, articles, and engaging with other people’s posts. In no time, you would be sharing these tips with other job seekers.

https://blog.bixex.com/?p=1012
Insightful & must be helpful to offline job seekers....however as for we freelancers we allow our works in portfolio do justice to any review or questioning and job securing.
ONLINE / REMOTE JOB is bae and comes with other freebies grin tongue

In another news if you have access to internet + browsing gadgets and you yet earn @least $5 daily via your online activities then it's your own undoing (Fault).

Howbeit I'm always pondering why the western world has never in anyway proscribed IPOB as a terrorists group yet the FG keeps doing so.
Something isn't adding up and I'm sure so many other people must be thinking in this direction.

We need young visionary leaders not these terrorists infested present administration that keeps fueling and compensating bandits , Boko Haram and kidnappers!

RomanceRe: +18 - I F*cked This Married Woman Without... To Be Deleted Soon [Picture] by Seniorwriter(m): 6:14pm On Jun 16, 2021
iLegendd:
You're right to an extent. Wise men marry only women that love them more, not women they love more. Failure to do this as a man, you'll regret. How do you know she loves you more?

By hiding your wealthy, if you're rich, and relocating to a new environment and live a low profile life like an ordinary citizen.

Unfortunately, our Nigerian rich men want to show off how rich they are, so they attract what they deserve. A hoe and a leech. In fact, some of them even get their wives from the club.

To some Nigerian men, as long as she is a bit pretty with a protruding ass and uses expensive bleaching cream or phone and acts classy, he concludes he is a wife material.

Men make the mistake from scratch. Also, while making these mistakes, most of these men suck in bed with their bloated stomachs.

Everything about them is wrong — apart from the fact that they have money. Since poverty make us think money is marriage's salvation. With it marriages must. No — it doesn't work that way.

Yes, any girl/woman that wants to f*ck around will, but as a man, you must be great in bed (for your ego, confidence, and bragging right) even if you have money.

Also, as a man, you must have principles. Never let a woman take you for a ride or insult you in any way or form.

If she does, dump. And don't forgive her even if she comes to apologize — she'll do it again. If she cheats, game over.

There are things you should know or put in place as a wise man before marriage. Sadly, Nigerian men don't care. The moment they see money, they want to get married.

So, this is why I blame men a lot because they either don't know how the dating world works or they do, but decided to be negligent of it.

Even a rich woman cheats. Trust me, they do. It's all about the man being a real man in and outside the bedroom.
Nice publicity well I just want to know how far with you ALT- Power supply innovation you intended ...im interested in a partnership deal.

PoliticsRe: NBC Act: Regulate All Online Broadcasters Including Twitter – Lai Mohammed by Seniorwriter(m): 5:44pm On Jun 16, 2021
valentineuwakwe:
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has urged the House of Representatives to include regulation of Twitter in the National Broadcasting Commission Act.

The Minister made the call at the public hearing on a bill to amend the NBC Act organised by the House Committee on Information.

The call by Mohammed is coming on the heels of the restriction of Twitter by the federal government.

“I will want to add, that specifically, internet broadcasting and all online media should be included in this because we have responsibility to monitor content— including Twitter,” he said.

The recommendation by the Minister was opposed by others who spoke at the hearing.

The Executive Director of the Institute of Media and Societies, Akin Akingulu lamented the lack of independence for NBC.

He called for more powers to be stripped from the Minister of Information and the independence of NBC should be guaranteed.

Akingulu also called for the confirmation of the Director-General of the NBC by the National Assembly.

He noted that the inclusion of Twitter and others as “categories of broadcasting services licences will be injurious to the civics space, freedom of expression and media freedom in Nigeria.”

CareerRe: What You Should Know About Some Interviews by Seniorwriter(m):
Well this may be insightful for offline job seekers.
KazikageSama:
Sometime ago I applied for a role at a very popular multinational. I prepared hard for it like my life depended on it (cos it was my dream company). I had 3 levels of interview including working on a project and making presentations to someone who'd be my Manager and a colleague. The feedback from my sessions were very encouraging that I was already preparing to have a contract negotiation.

Then I didn't hear from the coy for a long time, I did multiple reminders to the internal recruiter but most went unanswered until after a month, she responded that although my performance was good and my experience was impressive but they have decided to go with an "Internal solution".
What the heck is "Internal solution"? I later learnt that the entire interview process was a facade. The recruiter and managers already agreed to fix another employee into the role but for sake of audit and crossing all Ts, they decided to interview external candidates for the same role but regardless of our performance, we didn't stand a chance. It was just feigned transparency.

I imagine how many candidates get called up for interviews, they prepare with everything they've got, have sleepless nights to brush themselves up, put on their best appearance and abandon all the other serious things they could have done because they believe their prayers have been answered. Unfortunately when the feedback is sent and they are rejected. They'd beat themselves up, feel depressed and think they aren't good enough. Little do they know that they never really stood a chance. They were just a dot on the I and a cross on the T
