Have u ever seen neutral person or your next neighbor win something in Nigeria? From MTN aeroplane promo to common Cowbell or Cocacola bottle cover promo, they are all same, intension is to lure people and scam the consumer. Gone are the days of 7up Deawoo racer promo that your next door neighbor or somebody in your community could win or the days of Glo picanto that your uncle's colleague in the office will win one, now a days it is just scam. Don't be surprised that Nigeria lottery council has a slot among the winners.

You are right, you don't just dust HTC, Apple and co behind if u are not a gamer, Huawei was already on course to dust Samsung, that was why Samsung changed strategy and started releasing lower cost but very good midrange phones to keep Huawei and other Chinese OEM at bay. America's intension is to slow them down or ultimately kill them, they v done it to Toyota and Toshiba in the past, Toyota had to partner with America owned auto maker GM to established plant in US before US government stop persecuting them while Toshiba had to give American chips maker free asses to their patent design and latest R & Ds for them to stop the persecution of Toshiba. EU is not in support of what America is doing except UK which is traditionally knee jack follower of US. Chinese just need to come up with something as good as AOS or iOS if not better. Anything less is a bad market in EU because they don't have to suffer inferior OS with Chinese, Chinese nationals can take inferior OS due to Nationalism but they have to provide others with something equally good if not better to jump the ship.

From what is on ground, it will take China 2 to 3 years to get there, China already has local ecosystem but they did not internationalized it which I don't know the reason behind that, may be they don't want to compete with US, however they don't have choice than to internationalize it right now.

At some point in time, all of us would have thought that this was a tantrum thrown by a 5-year-old kid. But, no. This is a 60+ man called Emile Ratelband from Netherlands, who has appealed to the court of law to legally change his name. Emile Ratelband is a motivational guru, who had been under the tutelage of Tony Robbins, a vastly respected and followed guru himself.
So why this? Why change his age?

According to Emile, he might be 69, but his body feels like 40. And as he says, one should always age what they feel. Also, he believes this would open a larger number of opportunities in almost every sector of life- from employment, to finances, to matchmaking. So much so that even on any dating site, he would get much more attention from the ladies. Emile believes that 60 is too outdated for any dating app, and the single father of 7 children wants to experience love again. But this time, as a 40 year old man. According to De Telegraph, he considers himself as a ‘young god’.

When the news made the rounds in the Netherlands, he was first submitted to a mental evaluation to determine if he was sane. After successfully passing that, he appealed to the courts who completely rebuffed him. At this point, Emile used the same arguments that transgender people use to change their gender. His argument was simple- if one can change their gender, why can't they change their age? After all, both was almost determined by birth certificates. So, change that.

He also mentioned to the Washington Post how United States and Europe is a free country and people can be whatever they want.

At this, the courts sat up and took notice. Although the decision hasn't been passed yet, this extremely sensible yet ridiculous case has gained popularity.

He also believes that him changing his age would help in his profession with the younger generation, for he would be accepted as one of their own, and would be able to speak the language of the younger clientele.

At the courts, Emile responded to the taunts with an inspirational speech about how modern society was all about getting rid of any financial or materialistic bindings that don't allow us to express or be ourselves freely.


In this regard, he brought up the US President Donald Trump. While making no comments on his style of governance, he clearly mentioned that Trump's Twitter presence is enough to denote that he is one of the most powerful men in the Western Hemisphere. He never cared about how his words or his actions affected someone. He said all he had to, and what he felt. To Emile, Trump was honest. He had the guts to sit and say 'Shut up', to the entire Twitterverse.

All this things is just empowering China to be independents from most US ecosystem. Already China has walk away from any trade negotiation and most Chinese has vow to boycott Apple and buy only Huawei and other Chinese product. This will negatively affect Huawei sales worldwide but their sales will increase in China and dont forget China is 1.3 billion market that is twice America and EU market put together.

Already China wants to release Baidu Chinese equivalent of Google earth and Gps to non Chinese nation and they are already working on equivalent of Google suite and eco system for all Chinese phone markers.
At the end another OS will emerge from China to compete with IOS and AOS, which every phone maker that want to compete in Chinese market must make available, also another ecosystem totally independents of US ecosystem will rise from the east.

Funny thing is China is the apple's third largest market, the decline in Huawei sales may help boost sales of iPhone in other areas especially Europe since it was Huawei who is the big nemesis of Apple.

Washington has recently added the Chinese tech giant to a list of companies banned from obtaining hardware, software, and technologies from the US amid an ongoing trade war between the countries and the White House's battle against the use of Huawei's 5G equipment in Europe.

Swiss multinational investment bank UBS has spread notice among its clients warning that Apple's performance in China could be threatened by patriotic sentiments among its citizens in light of the ongoing trade war between Washington and Beijing, Business Insider reported.

"At times, foreign consumer goods have been negatively impacted in China by nationalist sentiment. This could have been a factor regarding Apple iPhone's poorer performance in China in 4Q18. Whilst hard to quantify, we do view this as a risk for Apple and the supply chain", the UBS notice read.

According to the South China Morning Post, the Cupertino-based tech giant's share of the Chinese market has dropped from 9.1% to 7% in the first quarter of 2019, while its rival, Huawei, has gained around 3%. Although the shift can't solely be attributed to the hostile US moves against Chinese firms and the country's economy in general, the newspaper indicates that this has definitely impacted the preferences of regular users.

The media outlet brings up the example of two hard-core iPhone fans, Wang Zhixin and Sam Li, who recently decided to ditch their Apple devices in favour of Huawei, partially due to sympathy towards the firm being form their homeland.

"There is a calling from my heart that I need to show support for Chinese brands, especially in the trade war climate", Wang said.

Hu Xijin, editor-in-chief of Global Times newspaper, also bought a Huawei phone to support a company "unreasonably suppressed" by the US, but still kept his iPhone as a supplementary device.

Washington has also undertaken a number of steps to undermine Huawei and other Chinese tech firms' positions in the US. Namely, the White House has banned the use of their smartphones on US military bases and prohibited American firms from using their telecom equipment.

In the most recent move, the US government banned American firms from providing technologies, hardware, and software to around 70 Chinese companies, including Huawei. This led to Google ceasing Android support on all future Huawei devices. The Chinese tech giant promised to initiate a legal proceeding against the American tech giant in response. The ban also reportedly cut off the Chinese firm from US-based chip producers, such as Intel, Qualcomm, Xilinx, and Broadcom.

According to a Bloomberg report, Huawei was expecting such move and prepared a "Plan B" to replace chip deliveries and continue its operations despite the US measures.

You are correct, currency swap is just tiny bit of gigantic steps China has taken. The first step is to back Yuan up with something reliable which is gold( $ was backed up by crude oil and millitary), China has been secretly buying up gold for a very long time and they are buying it in such away that it will not affect the price of gold otherwise the plan will backfire on them if the price of gold rise. Second step is to make it convertible to gold, China has started working on that, they have set up something similar to Wall Street.
Third step is to convince the Saudi to accept gold back Yuan instead of $ because Saudi holds key to Petroldallar which can also accelerate petro Yuan, Saudi's have accepted in a low key, others such as Iran, Iraq really don't mind going in that direction anyway, the present stage is to convince other smaller countries to trade with China in Yuan instead of dollars while the last and the most difficult stage is to convince countries to hold Yuan as foreign reserve and cash reserve. That is the most difficult especially convincing the people that matter most which is EU who are traditional allies of America, that is why China must first reduce dependency rate of American allies on America and increase it in her own favour.

No nation can rise without either technology transfer or theft, it is just impossible to do technology leap. Most of foundation of America's technology were acquired, stolen, transfered or copied from Europe in the 18th century.

Yes u are right but Huawei's case is beyond Money, go and read about Five Eyes countries and their dependence on America's telecom technology and the effect of 5G.

If China is able to break that dependence through 5G, that means America's influence will start to dwindle especially 5G that is regarded as the new electricity. It is just like Turkey and S/400, once you taste it, u will continue to want more and you are moving away from the dependence and aliance.
The strength of America is not just her millitary, (no matter how powerful your millitary is, u can't defeat the whole world ask Hitler about that ) the true strength are the allies and friends who depends on America for so many things and are ready to defend America no matter the situation. Another means China wants to use to break traditional American allies dependence on America is OBOR which is giving America serious challenge to stop, recently Italy has join and it is sure in 10 years time Germany and France may join, once that happens those countries already have vested interest in China and will be very soft to China the way they are to America today, the next Chinese target will be $ hegemony which is the fabric of America's economy.

The problem with kirin OS is that it is not mature enough, they have been working on it for a long time but nobody expected this Trump actions now, the projection was 2025, China and Huawei were not shock but they are not there yet.

America did not plan to confront China now until they have fully moved most of their essential supply Chain away from China and that was why they are propping up India, Vietnam, Philippines etc for that purpose, infact the new western companies going to China for the past 5years are the ones to capture Chinese local market. Most of Trumps actions today are already in plan and Chinese are aware but Trump just came in to execute it in a crazy way with out waiting for all neccesary back up plan. He felt it will be too late because China is also countering those plans.

Like I v said if China blocked Facebook, Google etc for economic purpose, every country does this and America does it alot especially in Aviation and millitary industries.

All I'm saying is that this Huawei is beyond protectionism on the part of China, it is serious security threat to America's hegemony and it is more of geopolitics than Facebook and Google.

Chinese government did not ban Google in China, google pulled out of China in 2010 and 2016 respectively due to Sevier competition, hacking and unfavorable censor negotiation.

No doubt China protected some parts of her core industries( every country except Nigeria is guilty of that even America did that for aviation and defense industries) but this Trumps move is not about Chinese protectionism because many American companies really depends on Chinese market for survival especially Auto industries because China is the biggest market in the world and by 2030 China will over take America as all rounder biggest consumers market in the world.
We also need to understand that China by culture are not consumer in nature like we Africans, they saves alot and only buy whatever they need and what is cheap. Right now American did not really have what China wants to buy except technology they don't have such as phones (which is why Apple's biggest market is China), chips and semi conductors ( which is why American gov want to kill made in China 2025) and Autos which has already dominated China ( all profits posted by American auto industries are from china) any other things can be sorted out much cheaper in China or somewhere else. You need to understand that America actually included gas in their trade negotiation with China because they couldn't offer much things for China to buy and China agreed even though they are weary of depending on America for energy because energy is the life line of any economy and you cant put that trust in the hands of your rival and enemy.

This move is just an act to slow down Huawei who has been taking the traditional market of American firm particularly the telecommunication sector that is very essential to CIA. Imagine America losing UK, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Canada all the five eyes countries which are America's backbone of world hegemony because of advanced technology from one upcoming company that did not exist 20years ago, Australia and New Zealand could be pushed around but immediately Angela Merkel and Theresa May made it public they are going ahead with Huawei, the best thing is to kill the snake b4 it distroyed a relationship built for more than 70 years.

No need to worry, Huawei already uses its own Kirin chips for their phones as for laptops AMD or Samsung can supply chips for them!!

The issues with kirin chips is that the architecture is still based on ARM SOC which is licensed from America but Taiwanese company bought up a silimar company in 2016, many people claimed China intentionally took that step as a back for something like this.

Not only Google, but almost all technology America has access to kill them.

According to Bloomberg’s sources, employees across the major US chipmakers have been informed that their companies will freeze their supply deals with Huawei until further notice. Intel provides Huawei with server chips and the processors for its laptop line, while Qualcomm figures less prominently in providing modems and other processors. Huawei’s actually quite well insulated from the Qualcomm impact, as it builds its own mobile processors and modems. Another Bloomberg report suggests Huawei has also been preparing for this eventuality by stockpiling chips from US suppliers to last it at least three months, which should be enough time to tell if the current measure is a scare tactic or a permanent imposition from the US government.

Huawei has also been developing in-house alternatives to Android and Windows, specifically to try and address a situation such as the present one. Microsoft hasn’t yet commented on whether it will continue to provide the Windows operating system for Huawei laptops, but odds are that it too will respect the US government’s orders.

The effort by the US government to sideline Huawei has been going for a long time, and the company was last year unceremoniously rebuffed in its effort to enter the US phone market. The current escalation is part of an increasingly hostile trade dispute between the Trump administration and the Chinese government, with the former trying to force a renegotiation of the trading relationship between the two.

The King of Swaziland, King Mswati III, has made a declaration in the country that from June 2019, men will be required to marry at least five wives or go to jail.
A statement by the King called for all men in the country to marry at least five wives, assuring the men that government would pay for the marriage ceremonies and buy houses for them.

The monarch noted that there are more women than men in Swaziland which he noted was a very serious problem for a country known to be full of virgins.
Reports say that the decision also came following the increasing number of virgins and scarcity of men in the country.

The Statement further directs all 2019 candidates to go for their reprints for Fresh examinations. The Chairman of JAMB used the medium to apologize to candidates and urged them to comply with its directive.
