Not all Africans Americans hate Africans. But sadly, there are MANY who do harbour extremely negative feelings towards us – whether due to a misplaced sense of superiority, a hypersensitive cultural chip, or just pure ignorance. It is a shame that many of us are still letting ourselves play into the global Neocolonial agenda that hurts us ALL as Afro people. We stay separated and at odds when we have so much in common – both historically and culturally since we have that Afro connection. The following “reasons” that many African Americans hate Africans have roots in the intense social programming that the USA executes so well over its citizens. 1. They Think Africans sold Them The very premise of this way of thinking is ridiculous. Before African Americans became African Americans, they were just AFRICAN. So technically, we sold ourselves! But the thing many of them don’t know is – history, and not taught from a white western lens. Colonisation in Africa first came about in the 1600’s before the full-fledged “scramble for Africa” in the 1800’s. The Europeans had already come to the continent and had started their exploitative activity at a lesser severity. Africa had already dealt in and experienced the (Arab) “slave trade” as well as their own traditional practices as ALL human civilisations worldwide had already been partaking in slavery in one way or another. All this occurred before Africa was “Africa” of today – do the math. Many of you are aware of Nubia, ancient Egypt) and other pre-colonial African kingdoms, as well as the original Jews being “black” (in today’s sense of the word) but you don’t factor in the slave activity that went on within the international slave activity kingdoms in those times. What Africans did not foresee and eventually lost out was: European manipulative strategy to pit ethnic groups and kingdoms against one another Chinese gun powder Europeans eventually creating the concept of “race” to justify the severe maltreatment of the “inferior” Africans in the slave trade and natural resource exploitation. But again. We sold ourselves, and we were NOT the only people to do this in the world. Look across ALL cultures in history and you will see the same thing. Not justifying it, just expanding upon it. NB: MAJORITY of Africans being shipped off were kidnapped and taken against their will by the Europeans, not sold. There were certain Africans who may have participated in this but it was almost always under force or manipulation to survive, protect their families and their kingdoms. 2. They Think Africans Didn’t Try to Help Them In the (unsound) minds of people with this view, from the 1800’s to the 20th century, we Africans were having a good old time while our continent was pillaged and our people oppressed. Only Afro people in the USA seemed to have it hard. We should have somehow tried to rescue the African slaves in the USA from slavery. I guess, we could have taken off our own chains to make the trip over. And while we were at it – we could have also gone over to South America and all the islands to save them too! Never mind that we did not have the means nor the actual freedom to do so! Not to talk about how we are STILL being neocolonised right now. 3. They Think Africans Played No Part in Afro Progress This one just shows the American in them to be so self-absorbed as to believe that they are THE reason why black people worldwide are in a better position today. Their arrogance outweighs their ignorance as there were, and still are, MANY Africans, Afro Caribbeans and Afro Latinos who have contributed to the collective pursuit of justice and equality for Afro people in the world. 4. They Think Africans Are Primitive Nude Apes Dying of Aids and Ebola It is so sad. Read more here: http://www.sundayadelajablog.com/revealed-7-reasons-why-black-americans-hate-africans/ |

Lagos, Dec. 8, 2015 (NAN) Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Tuesday said an online platform would be created where people all over the world could access the laws enacted by the state since 1967 till date. The governor made the disclosure at the launch of the 2015 Lagos State laws held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja. Ambode said that the state government had resolved to make the laws available online and accessible from any part of the world. ``From the online platform, people from any part of the world can easily access and download all the laws in the state since inception in 1967. ``This will further fulfil the obligation of the state government to create easy access to the laws thereby promoting a platform for accountability and responsibility,’’ he said. He also said it would help investors and would-be investors in the state to avail themselves with various legal protections for their persons and investments. ``To this end, the Lagos State Law Reform Commission is at an advanced stage of developing an online platform for accessing the laws of the state and downloading such laws,’’ he said. Ambode noted that the need for legislation to be up-to-date and relevant could not be overemphasised in ensuring the necessary legal infrastructure for socio-economic transformation. Earlier, the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Adeniji Kazeem, explained that the law reform was strongly informed by the need to avail residents the opportunity of being properly guided and informed through the laws. He said that this would in turn enhance the effectiveness of the laws, the efficacy of the judicial system and form the platform for economic and infrastructural transformation of the state. Kazeem said that a prominent feature of the 2015 laws was that textual amendments of archaic and colloquial words were replaced with other words for simplicity and clarity of meaning. The commissioner said words like ``therewith’’, ``therein’’, ``herewith’’, ``hereto’, ``hereinafter’’ and words of like nature where appropriate had been simplified. He said gender specific pronouns were replaced with gender-neutral language. ``Furthermore, obsolete references to military, colonial, imperial or legal orders, offices or institutions have also been substituted with contemporary offices and institutions,” Kazeem said. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 2015 Laws of Lagos State was put together in partnership with Thomson Reuters. The Managing Director of Thomson Reuters in Africa, Sneha Shah, commended the Lagos State Law Reform Commission for coming up with great content that was published by her organisation. http://nannewsnigeria.com/lasg-develops-online-platform-public-access-laws-enacted-1967 |

Wonders, they say, shall never end. It’s true. Unlike the identical twins in a previous story where one stabbed the other after they fell in love with the same man and only one of them got him, the twin sisters in this story have agreed and decided to share the same man in love without any fightThe twin sisters from South Africa have actually gone ahead to marry him after he acceded to their requests, and with polygamy being accepted in their country, the marriage took place in a big way. According to The Drum, for identical twins Owami and Olwethu Mzazi, it was their life-long dream to marry the same man. They stated that during their childhood days, they shared everything, washed the dishes, played, and went to school together. They even bathed side by side. One of the twins, Owami, told the magazine: “We have always done everything together…that is how our grandmother raised us. So when we decided to marry, we said any man that wants to marry one, will marry the other.” Some men are just lucky sha…pay for one wife, get one free. Chai!!! Nigeria - Popular political analyst and social commentator, Femi Aribisala, in an article has branded pastors who collect tithes as thieves. As far as many pastors are concerned, the most important scripture of all is not to be found in the word of Jesus. Neither is it even in the New Testament. That scripture says: “‘Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and try me now in this,’ says the LORD of hosts, ‘If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.’” (Malachi 3:10). This scripture is drummed repeatedly into Christians on Sundays. However, the only time Jesus mentioned tithing in scripture, he pointed out that it was not a weighty matter of the law. (Matthew 23:23). Hebrews says people only receive tithes “according to the law.” (Hebrews 7:5). It then insists tithing (and everything else under the law) has been annulled: “The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless.” (Hebrews 7:18-19). Nevertheless, mercenary pastors continue to insist on the payment of tithes. Latter-day pharisees Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for keeping part instead of the whole law. (Matthew 23:23). That is what tithe-collecting pastors do today. If we insist our congregants must pay tithes, we must also insist that they keep the rest of the law. James says: “Whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10). Therefore, if we insist on tithing, we should also refrain from eating pork. We should stone adulterers, execute homosexuals, kill Sabbath violators and restore blood-sacrifices. Tithe-collecting pastors counter this by maintaining the payment of tithes pre-dated the law. Here Abraham is cited as the cardinal example of someone who paid tithes before the promulgation of the Law of Moses, as did Jacob, his grandson. However, such arguments are disingenuous. Before the law, tithing was at best an example but not a commandment. Moreover, pastors fail to mention that Abraham only tithed once in his lifetime. When he did, he did not even tithe his own money: he tithed the spoils of war. He gave ten percent of the plunder he took when he rescued Lot to Melchisedec, king of Salem. But then he did not even keep the rest but returned it (all ninety percent) to the king of Sodom. For his part, Jacob also tithed only once. He did this in a “let’s make a deal” arrangement he offered to God: “Jacob made a vow, saying, ‘If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on, so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then the LORD shall be my God. And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will surely give a tenth to you.’” (Genesis 28:20-22). This kind of deal about accepting God only under certain self-serving conditions should certainly not be a term of reference for any serious believer. Lies upon lies The first lie pastors tell Christians is what some have referred to as “the eleventh commandment:” “Thou shalt pay thy tithes to thy local church.” But the bible says no such thing. The storehouse of Malachi was not a church. It was a place where food was kept. Pastors hide from church-members the fact that money was not acceptable as tithe. The tithe was a tenth of the seed and fruit of the land and of the animals which ate of the land. (Leviticus 27:30-32). That is why God says: “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be FOOD in my house.” (Malachi 3:10). He does not say “that there may be MONEY in my house.” The food was used to feed the Levites, the poor, widows, orphans and strangers. Pastors also conveniently fail to teach the biblical tithe. The principles of tithing were not laid down by Malachi. They were laid down by Moses. The study of Moses’ guidelines quickly reveals that the biblical tithe has no application whatsoever to Christians and is mischievously violated by tithe-collecting pastors today. According to the Law of Moses, the tithe was divided into three allocations. The first year, it was given to the Levite. The second year, it was given to widows, orphans and the poor. The third year, it was eaten in the company of the faithful before the Lord as thanksgiving for his faithfulness. (Deuteronomy 14:22-28). In the seventh year, there was no planting and no reaping and therefore no tithing. So the next time your pastor asks you to pay tithe, ask him about the seventh-year reprieve. Also ask him if you can give your tithe to the orphanage, or bring it as food items to be eaten in church. Believe me; he will not agree with you because it is your money he is after. Inapplicability of tithes Tithing was only applicable to Jews and to the land of Israel. When large populations of Jews lived in Babylon, Ammon, Moab, Egypt, and Syria, these lands became tithe-able lands. However, tithes were not acceptable from strictly Gentile lands. So you need to ask your pastor how come he is collecting tithes in Nigeria. Servants or slaves who worked on the land did not tithe because the land did not belong to them. Since only agricultural and animal resources were included, a fisherman gave no tithe of his fisheries. Neither did a miner or a carpenter pay tithes, nor anyone from the various professional occupations. So if you are not a farmer or a keeper of livestock, tell your 419 pastor tithing is biblically inapplicable to you. Moreover, the only people authorised to receive tithes were the Levites. (Hebrews 7:5). So if your Pastor is a “tithe-collector,” ask him if he happens to be a Jew. Remind him that, even though a Jew, Jesus could not receive the tithe because he was not from the tribe of Levi but from that of Judah. The trick, of course, is for pastors today to claim we are “Levites.” If your pastor is one such dissembler, ask him if he lives as a Levite. Remind him that Levites had no land and did not have private property. Ask him also how he knows he is from the tribe of Levi, which happens to be one of the lost tribes of Israel. Point out to him that even Jewish rabbis don’t claim to be Levites today because all Jewish genealogical records were lost with the destruction of the Temple in AD 70, ensuring that it is no longer possible to ascertain the true identity of Levites. Therefore, if Jews no longer tithe because the Levites are a lost tribe, how can Christian pastors collect tithes when we are not even Jewish, how much more Levites? If Jewish rabbis, whose terms of reference remain the Old Testament no longer collect tithes, then pastors who insist Christians are under a New Testament have no business doing so. The conclusion then is inescapable. Every pastor who collects tithes is nothing but “a thief and a robber.” (John 10:1). NNPC Urges Nigerians To Report Cases Of Hoarding, Sale Of Fuel Above Official Price The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has advised the general public to report cases of hoarding and selling of fuel above the official pump price by its outlets accross the country. The Managing Director of NNPC in charge of retail, Mr Ladipo Fagbola, made the call in Abuja on Monday. He said that NNPC was monitoring activities of its retail fuel stations to check sharp practices among them. Fagbola noted that given the large volume of fuel supplied in the country, NNPC would ensure that Nigerians received the best services at the fuel stations. He urged Nigerians to report fuel stations which engaged in hoarding of petroleum products and selling above the official pump price of N87. He said the NNPC had made available some hot lines to receive complaints from members of the public. He urged members of the public to contact the corporation and report sharp practices on the hot lines 08057008021, 08052195801 and 08100941174. “When you get to NNPC retail stations and you see things that are not right, please call these lines, take photographs of whatever you see is wrong and send it upline,’’ he said. Oladapo urged Nigerians not to hesitate to contact NNPC in the event of any sharp practice. It will be recalled that on Friday, NNPC at a news conference, said it dispatched 656 million litres of fuel across the states of the federation. The corporation, which decried the long queues at the fuel stations, said an additional 756 million litres of fuel were being expected by the end of November.
