A cleric, Pastor Gabriel Adegboye has declared himself as the next president of the country, saying it was through divine revelation. He also stated that God had revealed to him that the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari would last only four years. Adegboye, who alongside other members of his Save Nigeria 2019 movement addressed journalists in Ibadan, said he had spiritual impartation of resolving the killings in the North-East and other parts of the country, as well as ensuring economic development. Describing Boko Haram as a spiritual attack on the country from North Africa, Adegboye said he had the solution to end terrorist attacks in the North-East, within three months. When asked on what platform he intended to contest, he said the movement was negotiating with political parties and would adopt the party that agreed with its agenda. Presidency explains Buhari’s London stopover “God sent me to become the next president of Nigeria. Over the years, God has been speaking to me and I have been communicating to past presidents, even the incumbent president, concerning the way to resolve the crisis in the country and ensure economic development. God has given me the new agenda for this country. “We have all it takes to take the presidential seat come 2019. God has revealed to me that the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari is only four years. And the next person that will take over the mantle of leadership is Pastor Gabriel Adegboye. “If the Federal Government needs solution to the challenges in the country today, if I am invited, I promise that within three months, there will be peace in the North-East,” he said. Responding on whether the movement had the needed variables to embark on the political processes, he said the movement boasted of 39 million members. Adegboye, however, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reduce the cost of nomination form, so as to engender more participation by Nigerians willing to contest to be president. As much as we cannot crush faith by simply removing its earthly manifestation, we can hold firm as long as we believe in the fact that change must continue to occur in our dear country. The change we deserve would come through individuals or collective of individuals that truly believe that a political position is not an avenue to fulfil an unrealistic childhood dreams of owning the entire world through pocket servicing. Many would reason along with me that the political, economic and social footprints of the only president Nigeria never had has been the bedrock for many individual politicians and political parties in Nigeria today. Hardly would a day go by without you hearing from a politician that his or her party’s stands to build on the foundation of Chief Obafemi Awolowo. It is in no doubt that the Awolowo’s dream is so marketable to this generation and to the arriving generations as far as politicking and governance is concerned in Nigeria. The first noticeable trait of good leadership that was exhibited by Chief Obafemi Awolowo is the vision and wisdom that he harnessed in reforming and forming a strong political structure with ideals of liberating the entire Nigerian race as far as governance is concerned. Awolowo from my opinion was a man that strived to create a consenting process and unity which was aimed at ensuring that the shared origins and the economic well-being of Nigerians are extremely important. In all circumstance, I have come to conclude that Awolowo’s resentment of discrimination and inequality influenced his politics and ambitions as a nationalist. This I have traced to the character of Olawale Rotimi Paseda, a man that has seen himself as a crusader on behalf of his beliefs. He has demonstrated this through his personal convictions and concerns about morality, honour and truth in the political process. This has been expressed through his servant-leader relationships among people around him. Rotimi Paseda might have lost the gubernatorial race in Ogun State at the last polls but the stricking thing about his loss was that he came around the state politicking barely few months to election and pulled enough strength by emerging third at the polls. Beyond the material and intellectual benefits of linking wider political ambitions with local political support, a comparison of Awolowo’s career with a typical man like Paseda suggests that local support was not only instrumental for a successful political career at all levels because it provided the required votes. The Unity Party of Nigeria is a political party that many have forgotten about. It is a party that the late Awolowo himself nurtured for modern democracy but after his death; the party barely survived the heat of real Nigerian political struggle especially at the emergence of stronger political parties at the fourth democratic republic. Unity Party of Nigeria is so alien to many eardrums until the last election when it resurrected from angles that no one expected. The notion behind the party’s sudden emergence is that the great vision of Awolowo must be achieved beyond imagination. I guess heaven smiled at the intention has a singular man’s struggle has made it a party to be reckoned with at the moment. If not a strong opposition as at now, it is growing the tentacles of a viable opposition sooner or later. Paseda insists that Awolowo’s legacy must not die. He is not saying this with mere words of mouth; he is acting it like Awolowo himself would have acted if he still sailing on this Island called mother earth. Awolowo was a supporter of good initiative just like Paseda made it obvious that he stood for that irrespective of where or whose party it is coming from. If it is a good initiative that would checkmate the excesses of the citizenry or initiatives that would better the life of every Nigerian, he readily admires and embrace. No doubt that Paseda being an Awoist to the core, believes so much in Awolowo’s philosophy to the latter. This single man went on a tour to Northern part of Nigeria to revive the Unity Party of Nigeria in that part of the country. This is a rare breed of today’s politician. Most of our politician wants readymade parties that they can easily ride on smoothly to power. I guess Paseda took a well grip of Awolowo’s message at the point of death that, there will be a time when the good from the left and right will come together to form a credible government’, what this means is that the good from APC, PDP, UPN, etc, can come together to form a formidable force to move Nigeria forward. To the youths, this is a typical politician that we can learn from his style of politicking. If it is to be, it is up to us.

Otunba Rotimi Paseda has declared that he is still interested in contesting the 2019 governorship election in Ogun State, saying he is only consulting with the power blocs in the State, before declaring his ambition. Otunba Paseda stated that, his governorship ambition is predicated on rescue mission to provide succour and alternative government to the people of Ogun State. Paseda who spoke on Thursday in Ijebu-Ode, while meeting with Omu Council of Baales and his support group, Paseda Supporters Network, also denied rumour that he had jettisoned his governorship ambition for House of Representatives seat at the National Assembly, describing it as "laughable". He emphasized that his governorship ambition is not negotiable, but only waiting for INEC to lift the embargo on political campaign. He said the rumour was orchestrated, to unsettle his followers and planned, to cause unhealthy division within his camp, urging his supporters to remain unperturbed and resolute in their belief in his ambition. "My Governorship ambition is still on course and for anybody to think that I have abandoned that, is laughable and mere wishful thinking of my rivals. "I have not settled for neither the House of Representatives nor the Senate. Those promoting that, see my governorship ambition as threat to them. "I am aware that they have penetrated Ijebu, to canvass as usual with our stolen money from Abuja, but take their money and follow your conscience because we are in the harvest of money", he averred Paseda who was the Ogun State 2015 UPN governorship candidate, later advised other aspirants to stop playing 'hide and seek' game, but focus on getting their party's ticket before engaging in dirty politics. "Unfortunately, those spreading the white lies would eventually not contest the election. But I have one message for them. They should first get their party's governorship ticket, before embarking on their usual dirty and hatred politics".

2019: PASEDA TAKES CASE TO GOD .... Says the race is not for the swift As politicians across the country are intensifying efforts to win the 2019 general elections, the 2015 Ogun State UPN governorship candidate, Otunba Rotimi Paseda has taken a divine step, by challenging God to intervene in his political aspiration. Paseda, who spoke on Friday at the grand finale of the 3-Sunday crusade tagged "Revival of Hope" organized by Paseda World Outreach, in conjunction with OGUNSPOG, held at RCCG Divine Covenant Assembly, Ikoto, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, said the current ethnic and political crisis in some parts of the country, were part of the challenges expected of us as a nation, stressing that our faith in God would surmount all the attendant challenges. According to the politician, the nation is experiencing difficult times as a result of lack of strong belief in God by its leaders, hence, putting the country in great danger because of their trust in 'artificial' knowledge and wisdom. The Omu-Ijebu born business mogul emphasized that, the citizens have lost hope in the leadership of the country because of bad policy implementation that has trampled on the belief and socio-economic status of every individual, thereby subjecting the citizens to seek alternative livelihood, through devious means. Reading from the book of Romans 12:12, Paseda enjoined Nigerians to always be joyful and patient in spite of the current socio-economic hardship, assuring that God would soon bring succour to the suffering masses and deliver them from forces that are inflicting hardship on Nigerians, only if the people can affirm their faith in God. "The race to the destination is not for the swift. That is why people must have faith in God because the trying times will soon be over. "But faith without hope is like a transport without passengers. And when we lose hope, we lose everything, because God never promised us life without trials and tribulations, but many of us have lost hope in our careers, businesses and even in government. "To many of you who have lost faith in the government of the day, let me assure you that God has not forsaken us, because He is about to change our difficulties with good story, but only those that run the race of hope with faith, will reach the final destination. "Or what is the essence of hope without coming to realization?", the politician queried.

Scores of chieftains of the All Progressive Grand Alliance in Ogun State, on Friday, defected to the Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN, just as they pledged their support for the governorship aspirant of the party, Otunba Rotimi Paseda ahead of 2019 general elections in the state. The leader of the group and former chairman of the party, Hon. Adesegun Atoyegbe said they decided to pitch their political tent with the UPN because its governorship candidate was a seasoned technocrat that would provide the desired good governance for the people of Ogun state having came close in 2015 governorship election. He said, “We have seen that the party has been tagged as the Easterners party, hence, impossible for it to win election in the South West, especially Ogun State and the party has no electoral fortunes to win any election in Ogun State and that is why we decided to leave the party.” According to Atoyegbe, APGA lacks internal democracy and does not provide democratic dividend to the people at the grass roots adding that leadership of the party are self-centered and practice politics of exclusion, adding, “I want to urge not only the UPN members, but the entire Ogun state to support and vote massively for the UPN candidates in 2019.” Hon. Atoyegbe who addressed the mammoth crowd at an event organized by Paseda Youth Ambassador held in Ijebu-Ode area of Ogun State that, the move was part of reconciliation effort to provide a viable alternative political party in the state, adding that UPN remain the only party in the state with masses oriented blueprints. He therefore stressed that, the intractable crisis rocking many opposition parties in the state had made it impossible for the electorate to have avalanche of options to determine their voting pattern in 2019. Receiving the defectors on behalf of the party, a national officer of UPN, Engineer Babatunde Folarin expressed happiness for the democratic step taken by the defectors in providing vibrant opposition in the state. The UPN stalwart assured the new members of the party's open door policy and all inclusive in decision making of the party. "We are very glad to receive you to our party. UPN is the people's party and we need all hands on deck to ensure the party takes over power in 2019. "If you will all recall, we came close in 2015 general elections and repeated same feat in the 2016 local government election held in the state and today, the party produced two councilors in the face of intimidation and oppression of the ruling party. We shall continue to build on that milestone achievements and ensure total victory in 2019. "We are not relenting on oars, as we have engaged all meaningful stakeholders in state for a possible alliance and I am happy that you are part of the result of our consultation. "I want to assure you and the good people of Ogun State that, the hard time will soon be over and we shall come back stronger in 2019"

The founder, Paseda Legacy Foundation, Otunba Rotimi Paseda has enjoined Christians across the country to share their resources with the less privileged in their community during Christmas, as reaching out to the downtrodden is one the significance of the birth of Jesus Christ Paseda, in his Christmas message, emphasized that showing love and care to one another as exemplified by Jesus Christ when he fed 5,000 people with two loaves of bread and seven fishes would fulfill the importance of the Christmas celebration. While felicitating with the Christians, the Ogun State UPN governorship candidate in 2015 urged them to seize the opportunity of the festival to demonstrate the essence of unity among the various ethnic groups in the country. "As I always preach, let those who are rich give to the poor. That way, our society will be better and no one will have any regret of being in a less social class. We need to show love and care to one another as practised by Jesus Christ. That is the essence of Christmas; giving to the poor. "But let me remind us all that, lack of unity among various ethnic groups in the country and self-centredness are the major ingredients that compromise peaceful co-existence and national development. Let us all live in accordance with the true reason and lessons of Christmas by seeing ourselves as brothers and sisters, working to achieve a common goal. "Irrespective of our faith, we must refrain from actions and utterances that divide us or tend to threaten our peaceful co-existence as a people and a nation," Paseda said

One of the very vibrant States in the South West, Ogun State, has been a major side attraction for different people that cut across different tribes in the country due to its natural resources, amount of revenue generated internally, the economy, and so on. Everyone would believe that due to its many resources, Ogun State should be one of the States with the most robust economy, best education, good roads, stable electricity supply, above all, a State which is politically great. However, it is a great shame and a source of despair as the government in charge of Ogun State presently has proved the people wrong , by portraying the other side of the people’s belief. The current State of Ogun is like that of a school being run by its Principal, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, without listening to any external advice, be it good or bad, whereas, making it look like a military regime disguising as a civilian government. Firstly, any State that has failed in the education sector has failed totally. While growing up, we all sang ‘We are the leaders of Tomorrow’, as students, and that is just the fact. A State that lacks the progress of Education is half way to death. Some years back, students who wrote WAEC in Ogun State had issues with their results, because it was claimed that Ogun State owed the examination body and refused to pay up until after many months. Students couldn’t progress with their academics, the State was technically on an academic recess. Another Educational hiccup going on, is that of the Ogun State Model College. It’s shocking that a government school sells its form for a whopping sum of N10,000 while the tuition fee is over half a million naira, making it unaffordable for pupils and students to get quality and affordable education. Ogun State Government has also failed in neglecting the people in decision-making. A lot of buildings have been destroyed in the name of building road infrastructures which hasn’t been done effectively till now. It’s really shocking that some were left homeless because of the so- called 'Mission to Rebuild', without any kind of compensation. It’s cruelty on the part of Ogun State ft Government. It’s only showing that the Governor is leading the State to its early grave. If anything should be restored first, it is the educational sector. A State with sound education is beneficial, not only to the State alone, but to the nation as a whole. However, in this sector, no one has taken it up to address this, except Otunba Rotimi Paseda, the 2015 UPN Governorship candidate in Ogun State. Without any political office, during the last holiday, he was able to provide Free coaching lessons, with Free educational materials for over 10,000 students across Ogun State. No doubt, this is laudable as parents expressed their profound joy over this development. They were eased off their stress and any financial worries during the coaching. Furthermore, just last week, he disbursed a N10million loan to traders in Ogun State with no interest involved. This simply shows he has the people in his agenda. That is the kind of person we want. It would be recalled that during the last election, his four cardinal points were Quality and Free Education, Qualitative and accessible Healthcare delivery, Integrated Urban/Rural Renewal/Infrastructure, Gainful Youths Employment/Agricultural Development and they still remain his cardinal Points. Any government not interested in providing Quality Education and not having the people in mind, is just leading the State to its early grave. Anyone who is doing otherwise, is Resurrecting the State from the hand of its Killer. Osho Oluwatosin Isaac, a Political Analyst

Otunba Olatunde Rotimi Paseda Otunba Olatunde Rotimi Paseda was the Ogun State governorship candidate of the Unity Party of Nigeria in 2015. He hails from Ijebu Omu, in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State. His humble life is a tapestry of success and accomplishment in various fields of human endeavour. Paseda’s services are profound in various communities in the state, and these stand him out in the league of those who are aspiring to lead Ogun State in 2019. Next election in Osun is not going to be a tea party for the Opposition as they presumed, regardless of the electoral misfortune of the ruling party, APC is still the party to triumph. Therefore it is imperative to note without any iota of doubt, the opposition are better change their mindset on APC, the last electoral misfortune was largely because of bickering and misunderstandings in relation to the last Osun West Senatorial election. To think otherwise is to be day dreaming and not waking up to the reality of politics as a science. Meanwhile,The victory was largely because of the lack of unification in the ruling party which today i believes is being tackled rigorously by our leaders at the state and at the federal level,With all ingredients and chemical put into rightful place,i do not see any trouble ahead for APC .Let me therefore urge our party loyalists to be cautious and sensible not to allow the choice of who takes over from Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as the next Governor of the State divide us further. On this note, It is therefore eminent for us as a disciple loyalists to adhere strictly to the party directive and prepared to follow the game accordingly, failure to do just that might mean playing into the waiting hand of the opposition. A Yoruba adage clearly stated that "Ori to ma suupo,ki je ki alaisan o ye." To allow the return of PDP back to Osun State is just a simple way to say we have not learn any lesson. Next election is not going to be about Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, it is about what becomes his legacy and about the political future of our dear state. Lets be cautious and prepare do the needful as a party.
