Celebrities#olajumoke's Inspiring Story: Lessons To Learn. by seyithug(op): 10:55pm On Feb 15, 2016
God can do for us within a minute, more than we can do for ourselves in several years or a lifetime.

Last week, I had wanted to write about ‪#‎Olajumoke‬, as every Naija blog and media establishment that matters have done, but I have been reading and appreciating all the awesome submissions, instead. The way individuals and companies have been falling over each other, just to identify with her, has been awe-inspiring.

I've been astonished, both by the way the story has been trending and how the fame spread internationally, and by the deals and rewards an 'ordinary bread hawker' has managed to get, just because she accidentally photo-bombed a video shoot of a rapper, Tinie Tempah. Video/Photo shoot was done by 'Green land' crooner and celebrity photographer, T.Y Bello.

I only began using Instagram regularly around December, and I followed T.Y Bello sometime last month, and one of her photo stories that I first read was about the shoot for Tinie. So, I knew when T.Y shared the story of how a bread-hawker photobombed her shoot, and it was a perfect moment, and she was as perfect in the shoot as the models on set. Then T.Y said she would look for her the next day, and declared that the bread-hawker SHOULD be a model, and she (T.Y) would help her in any way she could.

That's how the story started.

From the very day she found her, T.Y made good her promises. Instagram Naija came alive and happy with this rare attention and willpower to help a hawker, by a celebrity photographer and award-winning recording artiste.

In Lagos state alone, there are thousands of hawkers of various kinds of wares/goods and services. Anything you can think of. How did this one lady trek to the one place where her story was finally changed? And, being a fan of Nollywood movies, I have watched several movies where many people line the streets, where many market women and students look on, while movie makers shoot different scenes, yet no story of these photo-bombers were changed (or made the news). There are millions of graduates, undergraduates, over-graduates, skilled/semi-skilled/unskilled labor, yet the great forces of the universe chose to smile on this 27-year-old after-2 bread-hawker. Indeed, the ways of God are mysterious.

No one knows Jumoke's story. No one knows why she had to leave her home in faraway Osun state, to hustle here in Lagos with one of her children (probably the youngest). Knowing how crazy survival in Lagos can be, we'll never know the story of her struggle in the early days of her arrival and all that she's been through. We don't need to, anyway. Everyone has a page in the book of the story of their lives that they don't read out loud. But, don't envy Olajumoke. It's her time, and it's her life to enjoy, now that the heavens have smiled on her. From several thousand- and million-naira modelling shoots, to freebies and a luxury, tastefully furnished apartment in Lagos, worth even more millions, her life has been completely shaken up, changed, and re-arranged, to relocate her to the place she had always wanted to be.
Just one action, lead to a chain reaction of positives. No, she didn't have to join the ILLUMINATI or some get-rich-quick scheme or play the lotto. Also, her religion or tribe or political leanings didn't play a part (something that's becoming rare in present-day Nigeria).

There are thousands of T.Y Bellos, who can change Nigeria. But they don't have the will to do so. Even for T.Y Bello, this may just be one random act of kindness in a blue moon, but 'it met God at home'- it was the perfect act of kindness, right on time.

Everything will come to you in good time, dear friend, just keep on keeping on and putting in your best effort into whatever your hands find to do. Even a few months back, the heavens smiled on me one day, I got a cash gift of a 100k by someone I barely even interacted with at the time. I was flabbergasted and overwhelmed with emotions and gratitude to Baba God, because, that day, I had less than N500 on me, both on earth and in heaven. lol.
She was my T.Y Bello too. She practically insisted that she wanted to support me and give me money, and asked me how much I needed. I was 'shaming-shying', and then she said she'll do me 100k. Kiakia, I typed 'Wow. Okay. Thank you so much, may God bless you more', before she changes her mind (Lol. Poverty dey build lack of trust for person mind o), and she sent it early in the morning, her time, just to show her determination to fulfill her promise. I never ‪#‎experrerit‬. This is how God works. This is one of my true stories of grace.
It could have been N1 million, N10 million or even N100 million naira, and that legitimate, life-changing transaction would happen, and people would just wonder 'what the f$^k happened to this guy?' how did he make it?'!

There are many T.Y Bellos in Nigeria, people who can put you on the map, people who can use their influence positively and they don't need to part with (a lot of) their money or time, to do it. They just need to identify (with) your talent and push you or showcase you (as the case may be)........ rather, many of them will, just..
1. Buy the entire loaves of bread off Jumoke's carrying pan, and give her a generous tip. It's their belief that Jumoke would go home very happy and fulfilled, having sold all her bread and pocketed a fat tip.
2. Take her to an expensive bakery, to get her a managerial role (managing other hawkers ni o), and assume that they have changed her level.

Be the change you want to see in the world- Either by being diligent at what you know how to do, or by finding fulfillment from helping others build their dreams.

Let me end this long rant with a passage from the Bible, a passage you're most likely familiar with, from Ecclesiastes 9:11. I read from the New Living Translation, because, in this case, this translation fully aligns with my thoughts.

Ecclesiastes 9:11, New Living Translation
"I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn't always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn't always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don't always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time."

Olufunke Phillips is my friend on Facebook. This post, like many others that she posts sometimes, is just a sarcastic, joke post. Don't take it to heart.
Many of you have deep mental and spiritual problems that a simple joke can't solve. Always serious all the time, and you can't seem to recognise a joke even when it's right there staring at you. You need help.
All those abusing or calling her dumb, you need help. She is an exceptionally witty, talented and intelligent woman. A social crusader, rational feminist, beautiful soul, great mother and virtual friend of many...... which you, her abusers, aren't, and may never be, if you keep up with this your close-minded, over-serious, gloomy attitude.

Loosen up. Don't be so damn serious.

6 hours on 3G and heavy use? On a 2500mah battery? That's hardly impressive.
Is the battery removable? How's the 540p display?

Ah. Jesu. Which kain yeye battery be that? Are you sure that's not a problematic device. Better return.
And, from all I read, the battery is not removable. Or is it?
Specs say the battery is 2500mah, why would a 2500mah battery last just 2 hours on 3G and constant, heavy use? This one dey fear me o.

Bro, the phone was delivered to me on Friday. Thanks a lot. The delivery guy called me today and said he'd deliver the powerbank today, so I'm expecting him now.

As for the IHN Pro, I expected it to be 13mp rear camera and 5mp front camera. Jumia misinformed their customers, by saying the phone is a Pro version. As far as I'm concerned, this phone is a VARIANT of the IHN, not a new model, as advertised. I just feel bad for IHN users, who, thinking this is a new model, had to go sell their IHN at give-away prices, just to get this one.

As far as i know, both devices are currently on sale .
jiayu and injoo didnt release both devices at the same time.
And i dont think its ur place to tell infinix what to release and when.
If you call their marketing a lie, because of the 13/8mp confusion, then maybe you should have stoned the guys at apple/samsung to death.
In case u dont know, 60% of chinese phones claiming 2 have 13mp are infact, just 8mp units interpolated to 13mp .
FINAL SHOT: COUNT YOUR LOSSES AND GO GET THE PRO,MOVE ON AND STOP RANTING IF YOU WON'T .
PEACE
I guess you just jumped into the thread, without knowing what I'm about. I'm not upset. I bought the IHN Pro, not the IHN. And, I'm not too happy with the fact that the specs I read online all said it's 13mp rear camera, not the 8mp I got. I don't care if it's interpolated, they should have made good their specs.
2. There's nothing to suggest the phone is a Pro, it's not written on the phone or on it's box, only on Jumia receipt. Here, Jumia+Infinix should have called a spade a spade, not a garden tool. Obviously, this phone is a VARIANT, not a different model. That's DISHONESTY.
3. I'm NOT ranting. I bought the phone on my aunt's behalf. I'm just PAINED for IHN users who Jumia + Infinix played a fast one on.

I disagree with you .
The phones can look the same, the price point can be the same ,thats at the discretion of the makers.
The jiayu s3 and s3 advanced looks the same with minimal price difference, yet no one critisized them. Samsung had a galaxy s3 variant with 2gb selling for the same price with the international version with 1gb yet no one coughed.
Samsung s4 with snapdragon 600 is better than the exynos variant yet everyone is fine with them selling at the same price.
innjoo just released the innjoo note pro with 2gb ram(only difference),everybody agrees its a differnt phn.
y then, is the inote pro different?
why is every1 criticizing infinix for trying to stay competitive.
Aggrieved ihot note users should blame themselves for buying too early.
Why didn't they release both phones at the same time? Why call it two different phones, yet shipped in the same boxes? Why lie constantly about the camera, when it's not the same camera? Why not just push both devices out and let people choose?
That's what those other brands did that Infinix and Jumia didn't do.
If they did, many camera lovers would have gone for the IHN, while the RAM lovers would have gone for the more expensive Pro.

Camera Ke ? Unless you be woman you shouldn't care about Camera... Besides, even if the Camera is 13MP, you shouldn't expect the picture quality to be anything spectacular... No be today these Chinese companies start to give fictitious camera specs....

In any case, Ultimately the RAM is one of the major things one should consider in a device.... So they gave you upgraded RAM and ROM for just a little over 1K more, you should be happy and rush the phone with immediate alacrity.... Why keep using a 1GB RAM device in this day and age when you can own a 2GB RAM phone for just 1.5K extra ? Be Wise ✔
Bros, if all I needed was the RAM and ROM, I would go for the Innjoo Fire @17,700 with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM , and would ditch the higher camera, processor and screen size and resolution entirely. No be so?

Choices.

Naija mentality, instead of addressing the issue and criticizing Jumia/Infinix, Na to dey make unnecessary excuses 'upandan'

RAM expander is useless sir.... If you want a 2GB RAM phone get a 2GB RAM phone....

People saying the difference isn't much... Well there's a huge difference between 1GB RAM and 2GB RAM...

Using 1GB RAM device in this day and age... That isn't life tho
The major ish here is the camera downgrade to 8mp/2mp. The 2gb/32gb memory upgrade is worth a lot more than the N1,500 difference.
But, Jumia/Infinix shouldn't have lied about the specs. So many guys and gals went into panic mode, just to get the Pro, while selling their few days old IHN at 5k+ loss, only to find out they've been duped on specs.

For buyers who are yet to make a decision on which one to buy, they now know the truth and can choose more wisely. Patience is indeed a virtue.

Don't be swayed by specs on paper and Jumia's marketing gimmicks. Many of you that sold your IHN to get the PRO may be so disappointed, when you realize that Jumia has scammed you on paper specs. Lolz. I think this much-touted IHN Pro is just a repackaged IHN, or it's a variant of the original IHN. Even the box still says Infinix Hot Note, not Infinix Hot Note Pro. Only the Jumia receipt mentions Pro, nothing like that on the phone itself. Na just one big WASH. On the box, it still says Infinix X551. Same model number, just camera downgrades and memory upgrades -X.
PhonesRe: Infinix Hot Note X551 – Jim’s BIG Thing by seyithug(m):
Here's a spoiler, for those who are looking to sell their IHN to get the IHN PRO, the upgrade may not be worth it afterall.
I just got the IHN Pro from Jumia delivery guy now, it's for my aunt. Boldly written at the back, among the listed features, the phone has a 8MP camera at the rear, and 2MP in front. If this is a major deal-breaker for you, don't sell your IHN.
It has an SD card slot, though.
There's nothing written on the box to suggest it's an Hot Note Pro, it only says so on the Jumia receipt. (Pic uploaded).I got the champagne gold color back casing, white face.
Turned it on, but didn't want to set it up, since it's not mine.
Octacore 5.5" 720p HD, 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM. 8MP rear, 2MP front. Android 4.4, non-removable 4000mah battery. Still a good deal, but be considerate, if you wanna sell off IHN for IHN Pro. I feel it's just a repackaged IHN, ROM/RAM upgrades, camera downgrades.
Peace out.
