hiltop2: DR. SULYMAN TOYIN AKANBI WRITES ON BUHARI’S HEALTH
US presidents have been sick while in office.Woodrow Wilson (1913-1921) suffered a severe stroke that left him incapacitated throughout his presidency. Yet He remained in office till the end of his term in 1921.Diagnosed with polio in 1921 at the age of 39, Franklin D Roosevelt (1933-1945) still served for twelve good years though he could not stand or walk without support. Using a wheelchair in private, he never disclosed the full extent of his health condition.
Dwight Eisenhower (1953-1961) suffered heart attack in 1955 as a result of which he was hospitalized for several weeks. He also did a surgery some months later to treat Crohn’s disease and in late 1957 suffered another stroke that made him temporarily unable to speak. Yet he went ahead to win a second term after that.
John F Kennedy (1961 - 1963) had a chronic bone disease and was hospitalized nine times in his short two and a half year presidency but this was never revealed to the American public. George Bush (1989 – 1993) vomited and then fainted in front of cameras in 1992 while on a visit in Japan and heaven did not fall in America.
Now if about five of American presidents have been sick in office, what is wrong if Nigeria’s current president is also sick? Is he made of iron? We are also tempted to ask, if Buhari dies, will it be the first time that a president will die?
Eight American presidents have died in office. Four died of natural causes: William Henry Harrison (1841), Zachary Taylor (1850), Warren Harding (1923) and Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1945). Four others were assassinated: Abraham Lincoln (1865), James A. Garfield (1881), William McKinley (1901) and John F. Kennedy (1963).
The truth is that if Buhari dies today, his name will be written in letters of gold. It is the death of a hero primus inter pareil and the death of a reformer nulli secundus. Buhari is a dogged corruption fighter who came to rescue Nigerians from yam thieves. If he dies today he will leave an indellible record, an achievement difficult to match by his successor and a standard that is bound to create a yawning lacuna.
Nigerians also need to show sympathy and understanding as their president battles with a poor health condition. They should not allow people whose hearts are filled with hate to brainwash and indoctrinate them. lemme pick out the insolence in your write up. The most recent event u referred to was in 1992, that is 25years ago... How many decades are u dragging us back to For those times the said US presidents were Ill, I can assure you that the country was functioning optimally, else there will be an uprising. we r f**cking held spellbound in this country! nothing seems to be moving. The president is incapacitated, and no sane populace in this jet age will sit and fold arms, and be ruled or presided over by an incapacitated leader. And all we get are lies from some dark hearted cronies. I am not wishing him death, buh he should step aside, cos he is no longer capable. We just have group of people calling themselves "cabal" dishing out orders to satisfy their individual cravings. If only u knew how detrimental that is to the continual survival of you and I, and the country as a whole, you will never type this thing u just did. You might be a northerner, with the "born to rule; remain in power forever" ideology, I totally get... |

This is the land of my birth, this Nigeria my Nigeria; this is the land of my birth not a zoo I will never run away; I will never renounce her. This is my pledge to my dear country. So help of God. Land of your birth huh? A land where u aren't certain to be alive the next minute. Where over 95% of the causes of deaths are preventable... A land where u could be knocked over by a speeding vehicle, because there r no speed limits, or cos individuals don't know the risks of DUI. Or a failed break, cos of the lack of maintenance attitude. A land where someone on the streets get electrocuted just cos the cables and poles were bad, but wouldn't be changed. Or a stray bullet from robbers or the said crime fighters... A country where the hospitals are ill equipped, thus constraining the medical practitioner's efforts, leading to an increase in the death rate. A land where someone sitting in his room could be killed by the weight of collapsed debris, cos the contractor tried to cut corners... A land where the leaders care less about the lives of a particular group of people let alone that of an individual. A land laden with substandard products and commodity, cos noone cares about the next man standing by him... My dear, there isn't a thing good about this country, and it is only by understanding this, and believing it, that we can change it. Not by having false beliefs. |

I have just too many doctors as friends and I know medical certificate isn't a moral certificate. Male gynecologists insert fingers inside their patients vagina looking for who-cares-what and press and fundle the beasts looking for lumps...
This is madness of course and can only be permitted by me only during life-threaning emergency. So for every patient "any" doctor sees, he pokes his hands into her vagina, and handle her breast You r irrevocably senseless. |

Ehh, Peter Obi should have commissioned it naa Your type is the reason why Nigeria is where it is today. There is no continuum in government. If a governor doesn't finish a project he started and leaves office, the new governor will abandon it, and start a new one so he can take all the credit to himself. That's bullshit, and it hinders development. |

Boss13: I doubt if those gym guys have wives at home just the same way I doubt the veracity of this story. Married couples fight, some fights maybe physical and depends on the underlying circumstances involved. There is no justification to be abusive to your spouse whether physically or verbally - abuse is an abuse. However, if this story is true then that woman intentionally wants the husband to be beaten up and she might have narrated the story to extract pity from the guys and I doubt a man who just had a fight with the wife the other night going to the gym to pick her up the next day after the fight except the assault was done mistakenly.
For me, I think understanding is very important in a marriage. Learn to understand when your spouse is angry or what makes them angry and avoid such things. Only a stubborn spouse or someone who is less interested in their marriage that will continue to do things that annoys their partner. Marriage is hard work and takes a lot of effort. It also requires teamwork where both the husband and the wife work together for its survival. Getting outsiders involved in your marriage only destroys it. God bless you |
