Christianity EtcRe: Inciteful Statement: Bishop David Oyedepo Must Be Called To Order by Sgwash: 7:31am On Jan 14, 2017
Splinz:
Oyedebo is simply ranting. The fact is, something is definitely wrong with mainstream 'churchianity'.

Imagine such an outburst from a supposedly man of God? Very unchristian!

Here's the thing. It is either Oyedebo is not well versed in Scriptures to know the mind of God concerning persecutions and attacks on true Christians (he can never claim that all those meaningless curses were from God), or he's simply deceiving himself.

Does it mean that he doesn't trust God to save His own? Is God no longer the ALMIGHTY capable of wiping off all His enemies within a twinkling of an eye if He so wish? Does Oyedebo not trust His promises?

The Scriptures says: "The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him" (Nahum 1:7).

This is what we know and testify to! And no power can touch the Lord's elects!
so what u are saying is that Christians should just fold their arms and expect miracle. just like not preparing for an exam, and hoping for miracle, while probably others were burning their night oil, you were having series of night vigil, then u expect to pass. Or maybe sitting in your house doing nothing and wishing and praying for God to make u a millionaire. since u claim to be a Christian, I'd love to draw you to the happenings when Jesus found traders in the temple. His outburst was chaotic and turbulent. He was said to foil them, with anger. He probably should have been calm while d desecrate the holy place. I don't know why OP have a problem with the bishop's statement, buh I think it's high time Christians stood their ground. The kingdom of God suffers violence, and only the violent taketh it by force... You can't be doing nothing and expect results!!! Get that into your head OP.

MMM is a people oriented scheme... If u agree, and I agree, the system lives on. I guess what these recalcitrant charlatans are trying to do is to create that spirit of discordance, killing people's faith. That's the only situation MMM will cease to exist. So gentlemen and Ladies alike, keep the faith up, and have a positive spirit. Together we can change the world.

What am i saying sef- I remember professor Bat Nnaji is a professor in engineering and many engineers that have worked as power minister for 16 years what have they done?have dey generated any megawatt?

You people should cover your faces in shame.

You dont need engineers to be minister, you need decision makers people who knows how to make deal and politics of Electricity and contract signing n pressure management.

Its not about round square peg round hole thing.

Its an old adage thats not working with reality -i mean the square peg of a thing..
Don't be quick to forget that he made a statement about power being fixed in 6months if the government is serious... As fate will have it, he rose to the most appropriate position to make an impact, and this is almost 2years, yet nothing!!!

I am still wondering how people feel that a rot of years, more than 20years in my opinion can be salvaged in even 5 years. The government can't control the forces of demand and supply, they may try to cushion the effect but it will be temporal, The thing is getting back to the basics ,once we get it right from there we can move forward. Nigerian economy didn't start spiralling downwards yesterday or even 4 years or 5 years ago, it has been spiralling for a while and its the cumulative effect thats visible now.

Everything seems to be hinged on the dollar and unless we earn more dollars by diversification we will just be dilly dallying and I hope we know that diversification is not just an act, its a process that can even take up to 20 years for us to really feel the effect and honestly I see the process in place its not just very visible yet.

So what do you think the government should have done that the haven't?

Or what do you think they shouldn't have done that they did?

Just curious
Am sorry, buh I might have to answer your question with a question... let's start from the preliminary. Do you have faith in the economic team the government is flaunting? Do you trust them to make and implement savvy economic policies to the effect of diversification and everything u mentioned? my guess is a s good as yours.
PoliticsRe: The Second Coming Of Goodluck Jonathan - Dele Momodu by Sgwash: 8:03am On Nov 20, 2016
yetseyi:
Finally, someone who shares my opinion, Nigeria's problem is systemic and Nigerians are very impatient people. Cleansing this country and bringing it back to the Nigeria of old will take years, I know that it didnt't matter who won the 2015 elections , the recession was bound to happen it was only a matter of time ,in fact some people had been preparing and making plans for this time years back.

Sometimes when I see people jumping up and down saying if Jonathan won we won't be in this situation I just shake my head simply because it would have happened irrespective of who the president ,CBN governor , finance minister is. Sometimes its calls for emiefele and adeosun to resign and people don't understand that sacking them won't solve this country's problem.

I am not surprised anyway because party affiliation, ethnicity and religion influences Nigerians a lot and we can't seem to talk logically without these sentiments.

The Nigerian system itself needs a overhaul and one major thing that will help Nigeria is if corruption can be eradicated, if that can be settled it will be good to our nation.

The recession was bound to happen irrespective of who was elected.

BTW I am not APC/PDP.
Good and true, the recession was bound to happen, but the point still remains that the present government has done absolutely nothing to salvage the situation. That seem to be the problem.
PoliticsRe: The Second Coming Of Goodluck Jonathan - Dele Momodu by Sgwash: 7:54am On Nov 20, 2016
dadaic:
I think we are all loosing a great and vital point to this. If the country has the ability to curtail 2 Presidents, the country still won't change. The effect will still be the same and the recession will surely happen. Things are bound to happen and we can't change them, we only can prevent them. Resources are limited, and the population is growing daily. How do we manage these resources with the ever-growing population. We don't have a clue of the number of persons living at a particular place, we have no clue of the number of resources that can be harnessed at different states, and yet we think either Jonathan or Buhari can make a change? I think not.

Time after time, each sitting president seems to be better off than the former. Can't we see as time passes, things gets worse. Companies are leaving, unemployment has become a norm, and no one seems to be ashamed of it. And you clamor for Jonathan, or some freaking futuristic president who has got no clue of what the country is like?

If you want to understand a man, give him money, after wards, give him power. I think Jonathan was given every possible time to make the country right in his way. But he didn't, he couldn't. He failed, just like every project that has been handled by companies failed. Buhari has made a mess of it, and it keeps getting worse. We should not take our sight off many things. Our resources will soon wear off, and in no time, we will have nothing. Our kids are growing, our schools are depleting, we have nothing. No advancement, nothing to show for it. Great minds are leaving the country, and yet we say one man can make a change? This country has failed, and we keep putting blames on this and that.
When will that stop?

I was walking today at Abule egba, where the road construction which the Fed govt has got no clue where to begin from. I decided to control traffic, and a friend of mine asked, why should I be bothered about it? He asked why I should help people who have got no care about me or know about my existence. And I said, If someone doesn't do it, who will? I have to. If we keep neglecting little things like this, my brother, this country will never change. It will remain the same, even if Jonathan and Buhari work together. We claim we are one Nigeria, but we are not. I clamor for a working country, give me goosebumps when you rule, give me a reason to live for Nigeria, not to live in Nigeria. Give me a reason to cry when someone I don't even know, or will never cross path dies. Give me so much reason to love my dear country. We claim we are the happiest of persons in the world, how are we happy? Suffering, yet smiling. That doesn't exist anymore. I love this country, I left and came back, and I am here to stay, no matter what. Give me reasons not to regret the decision I have made.
Very insightful

GET RID OF STRETCH MARKS, CHECK MY SIGNATURE!
check d dictionary meaning of corruption... corruption /kəˈrʌpʃ(ə)n/
noun
1. dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery.
2. the process by which a word or expression is changed from its original state to one regarded as erroneous or debased.
3. the process of decay; putrefaction.

Corruption is a form of dishonest or unethical conduct by a person entrusted with a position of authority, often to acquire personal benefit.
Corruption may include many activities including bribery and embezzlement, though it may also involve practices that are legal in many countries.
U probably r thinking that he said that to cover his tracks, buh u forgot that this man is a man with a sound mind and a PhD. He has appropriate use and command of English, and is in no way wrong by saying stealing ain't corruption.
