What is indictment? Did the Minister spend the said money on Subsidy or not? Did the Minister, the Minister of state and AGF informed the FAAC of the development or not? Did the FAAC raise any alarm upon receiving the update? Did the Minister unilaterally spent the money or it was done upon approval by the FEC?

These are questions we are to ask. If you are saying the ECA belongs to all levels of government, does that make NOI a thief or what? Did she pocket the money? There is NO indictment here. This is a case of FG spending from the ECA to fund an appropriated project. The Govs should face the FG and not officers of the former government
Do you think through your anus?

So it's now withdraw, spend, then get authorization.

Was the subsidy budgeted for?

You disappoint me, man. Big time.

Are we not even ashamed of ourselves? Why is it that it is only Africans that jettison everything about them becase the Oyibo said they are evil. We jettison our traditional faiths and embraced the religion of Arabs and Jesus Xt.

The Asians did not abandoned the culture, religions, languages etc and are they not better off today than Africa? China, japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, India etc

Turkey (Anatolia), was
Catholic and Greek was its main language until
1000 AD. Most of its inhabitants were Christian,
as one of the first Roman provincia. In 1071
however, parts of it were conquered at the
battle of Mantzikert by Arp Arslan (Turkish)
from the Byzantine emperor. From then, more
and more of Anatolia became Turkish. These
Turks came from Central Asia. In 1453,
Constantinopolis/Byzantium (Istanbul) was also
conquered, and it became the capital of the
Ottoman empire. Its state religion was the
Islam.
In the 20th century, the majority of the
Anatolian population was Turkish, though large
Greek (Christian) minorities remained. In the
1920s, when Atatürk conquered Ionia (Western
Anatolia) from Greece (which Greece got after
the treaty of Sèvres), almost all Greeks moved
from Turkey to Greece, and all Turks from
Greece to Turkey. And then, almost all
Christians had left Turkey. That's how it
happened.
But you do have to remember, that it is not the
'people' that were taken over by the islam; the
land was taken over by islamic people. There
were no Muslim leaders who forced to convert
Christians, the Christians left the country while
the Muslims came.

Turks are not Antonians. Turks conquered Antonia, just like Romans conquered many territory.

Turkey as a people, i mean the conquerors of Antonia were never christian.

And if you do not know, if you conquer a region in those days, they become captives and you can impose your religion on them if you want.

The only way a sovereign Nation can be islamized is by conquest. If Buhari wants to islamize Nigeria, then he should be ready for war with Nigeria and her allies and all allies of Christianity. There is no democratic way to islamize a country.

People should stop thinking with their anus. And who says it's only igbos that would be affected if there is any Islamic threat to Nigeria?

Turkey was never a Christian country. Turkey is a modern Republic which was formed in 1923, prior to which it was the Ottoman empire (third largest empire in the history of mankind). The state religion of the Ottoman Turkish Empire was Islam, but ALL other religions were tolerated. Subjects had the privilege to retain their religious beliefs but had to pay taxes if they were not Muslim. The Turks arrived in waves into Asia minor dating from the 9th century AD forward and adopted Islam under Arabic rule. Prior to their contact with Islam the religion of the Turks (there were and still are dozens of different tribes) was a shamanistic based nature religion that worshipped Tanri the Celestial God. With the demise of the once mighty Roman empire Christianity withdrew from the Anatolian mainland territory into Thrace or further into Europe. Since true Islam does not prosecute other religions, Christians, Jews and other religions have traditionally existed to the present day within modern Turkish society. Turkey was NEVER predominately Christian.

A History of the Religions in Turkey

The established presence of Islam in the region that now constitutes modern Turkey dates back to the latter half of the 11th century, when the Seljuks started expanding into eastern Anatolia. Islam is the main religion of the Turkish people in Turkey, where 99.8% of the population is nominally Muslim according to the CIA World factbook.[1] According to religiosity polls 97.8% of the population is Muslim.[2] Most Muslims in Turkey are Sunnis, forming about 72%, and Alevis of the Shia denomination form about 25% of the Muslim population.[3] There is also a Twelver Shia community representing 3% of the Muslim population.[4][5]

The secularization of Turkey started in the society during the last years of the Ottoman Empire and it was the most prominent and most controversial feature of Atatürk's reforms. Under his leadership, the caliphate—the supreme politico-religious office of Islam, and symbol of the sultan's claim to world leadership of all Muslims—was abolished. The secular power of the religious authorities and functionaries was reduced and eventually eliminated. The religious foundations were nationalized, and religious education was restricted and for a time prohibited. The influential and popular mystical orders of the dervish brotherhoods (Tariqa) also were suppressed.

Although Turkey was secularized at the official level, religion remained a strong force at the popular level. After 1950 some political leaders tried to benefit from popular attachment to religion by espousing support for programs and policies that appealed to the religiously inclined. Such efforts were opposed by most of the state elite, who believed that secularism was an essential principle of Kemalist Ideology. This disinclination to appreciate religious values and beliefs gradually led to a polarization of society. The polarization became especially evident in the 1980s as a new generation of educated but religiously motivated local leaders emerged to challenge the dominance of the secularized political elite. These new leaders have been assertively proud of Turkey's Islamic heritage and generally have been successful at adapting familiar religious idioms to describe dissatisfaction with various government policies. By their own example of piety, prayer, and political activism, they have helped to spark a revival of Islamic observance in Turkey. By 1994 slogans promising that a return to Islam would cure economic ills and solve the problems of bureaucratic inefficiencies had enough general appeal to enable avowed religious candidates to win mayoral elections in Istanbul and Ankara, the country's two largest cities.

PoliticsBoko Haram: Security Expert Recommends Service Chiefs’ Sacking by shachris02(op): 2:34pm On Jul 08, 2015
A security expert, Mr. Jackson Olalekan-Ojo, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to sack the current service chiefs in the country as a result of their failure to curb the incessant attacks by the Boko Haram sect.

Olalekan-Ojo said this in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Wednesday.

He said the service chiefs had done their best but their best was not good enough to tame the insurgents who have continued to kill Nigerians in large numbers.

The statement read partly, ” Having ordered the military to relocate their central command to Maiduguri which is where the fight is, Mr. President should also relieve the current service chiefs of their appointments and appoint new service chiefs that will bring in new initiative and tactics to combat these Boko Haram members.

” These terrorists have now resorted into suicide bombing and these people do twosome, party or solo. I think we need fresh officers with fresh ideas and strategies to stop this bloodletting.

” Human lives are sacrosanct and the President should stop the mindless killings by the group and he should sack the service chiefs to be able to achieve this.”

Olalekan-Ojo lauded the President for acceding to the call of Nigerians on the bailout for states owing salaries, saying this would save the country from crisis which could have happened if the problem was not tackled that way.

The security expert appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the President, saying he was confident that the President would not let the nation down.

According to him, Buhari is laying a solid foundation for the development of the country while urging Nigerians to be patient with the President in order for him to deliver effectively on his electioneering promises.

RomanceHere Are 47 Reasons Why You’re Really Single by shachris02(op): 1:32pm On Jul 08, 2015
It’s time to stop fronting.

There’s nothing wrong with being single. Everyone’s single at some point (apart from those people who just swing from one relationship to another like a desperate relationship monkey).

But let’s stop lying to ourselves about why we’re painfully alone. Here are some cold, hard, home truths.

You’re single…

1. Because you think you’re better than everyone else.

2. Because you haven’t changed your bed sheets for two months.

3. Because you’re always watching Friends re-runs on Comedy Central.

4. Because spending any longer than nine minutes in your company is completely unbearable.

5. Because you have a poster of Britney Spears on your wall.

6. Because you’ve slept with all of your friends.

7. Because you always talk about how many kids you want on first dates.

8. Because you are convinced everyone fancies you.

9. Because you don’t actually like other people.

10. Because you only know one joke. What’s red and invisible? No tomatoes.

11. Because you’re really obnoxious when you’re drunk.

12. Because you only want someone when you can’t have them.

13. Because you use the word ‘chillax’.

14. Because you use Meg Ryan quotes in general conversation.

15. Because emotions.

16. Because you chew with your mouth open.

17. Because your orgasm face gives people nightmares.

18. Because that baby voice you use makes everyone want to vomit.

19. Because you’re drunk ALL THE TIME.

20. Because you’re a dick on twitter.

21. Because you’re too busy taking pictures of your own face.

22. Because you smell of damp from your sh*t rented house share.

23. Because you find meeting new people boring.

24. Because the instant someone asks you out, you stop fancying them.

25. Because you’re incredibly judgmental.

26. Because of that ongoing eye infection.

27. Because you wouldn’t know a good time if it hit you in the face.

28. Because when you’re drunk all you want to do is eat McDonalds.

29. Because when you’re with your friends you act like a dick.

30. Because your coffee order is really insufferable.

31. Because you only ever talk about yourself.

32. Because you wear socks in bed.

33. Because your hair smells of yesterday.

34. Because you think emojis are lame.

35. Because you insist on calling everyone ‘babe’.

36. Because you’re still wearing your wristband from last year’s Glastonbury.

37. Because no one likes looking at that sh*t tattoo you got in Malaga when you were 17.

38. Because you always have food in your teeth.

39. Because you don’t drink tea.

40. Because you DM people you’ve never met on Twitter.

41. Because you keep sending people pictures of your tits.

42. Because you keep asking people to send you pictures of their tits.

43. Because you wear a beret.

44. Because your bike is your plus one.

45. Because all your clothes are see-through.

46. Because of that rash you still haven’t been to see your doctor about.

47. Because you’re still hopelessly in love with your ex.

PoliticsDelta Community Contests Naming Of $16bn Export Processing Zone by shachris02(op): 1:21pm On Jul 08, 2015
A Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State has overruled an objection to stop further hearing on the interlocutory injunction sought by Ugborodo people over the naming of the Deep Seaport project, one of the component of export processing zone in Escravos, Delta state.

The judge, Shittu Abubakar, also rejected the application sought by Fedude Zimughan leading two other counsels purportedly on behalf of Gbaramatu people in Warri South- West Local Government Area to be joined in the lawsuit, saying it was not yet ripe for a joinder.

The plaintiffs, Ayirimi Emami, Itse Elijah Wilkie, Mike Okoturo, Emiko Fregene and Samuel Pirah on behalf of Ugborodo Community through their counsel, Efe Akpofure (SAN), are seeking the interlocutory injunction against the naming of the Deep Seaport in Escravos, Warri South-West after Gbaramatu, an Ijaw Kingdom.

The Federal Government, attorney general of the federation and minister of justice, Nigeria Port Authority, NPA, Delta State Government and the Delta State Commissioner of Justice are the 1st-5th defendants respectively.

When the case came up for hearing on Tuesday, only the counsel to the Nigeria Port Authority, NPA, M.O. Maduakolam was represented in court while the other four defendants in the interlocutory suit were conspicuously absent.

Fedude Zimughan had applied to be joined in the suit as second set of defendants, claiming the application for interlocutory injunction sought by the plaintiffs will “one way or the other infringe violently on the rights of the parties seeking to join in the case”.

The counsel to the Nigeria Port Authority, Mr. Maduakolam in his submission, said the prayer by the plaintiffs was speculative and had no documentary evidence that the deep seaport would be named after Gbaramatu.

He said the naming of projects of such magnitude was the prerogative of the Federal Ministry of Transport.

The counsel to the plaintiffs, Mr. Akpofure (SAN), in his submission argued that the 3rd defendant did not properly attack the paragraphs in the plaintiff’s affidavits in support of the motion but merely contended that paragraph14-64 of the plaintiff’s deposition in the affidavits were all lies. He said this was a “vague submission” because the defendant “failed to state what is right according to the law which means he had admitted to the averment of the plaintiffs”.

Mr. Akpofure told the court that all the defendants also admitted with paragraph 1-13 of the affidavit support of motion for interlocutory injunction as such the court should go ahead and grant the plaintiff’s prayers.

According to him, naming of projects like Petroleum Training Institute after Warri before it was changed to Effurun and Delta Broadcasting Service, Edjeba, earlier named DBS Warri, caused unrest and as such the plaintiffs do not want renewed hostilities between the Ijaws and Itsekiris, hence the Interlocutory Injunction to stop the Deep Seaport from being named after Gbaramatu.

He prayed the court to grant an order of interim injunction restraining the defendants, their servants, agents, officials, privies or whosoever from naming the Deep Seaport project cited in Ugborodo, after Gbaramatu or any other name, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.

The judge, Shittu Abubakar, who adjourned ruling on the interlocutory injunction sine die, with a promise to communicate a fresh date to parties in the suit, declared that the motion for joinder will be given after ruling on the interlocutory injunction.

Indigenes of Ugborodo in Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State had prayed the Federal High Court of Nigeria in the Warri Judicial Division to grant order of interlocutory injunction stopping the Federal Government, Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Nigeria Port Authority, Delta State Government and the Delta State Commissioner of Justice (all defendants) from naming the Deep Seaport in Ugborodo after Gbaramatu pending the determination of the substantive suit.

The PDP chairmanship candidate for Warri South-West Local Government in the last Delta State Local Government election, Weyinmi Omadeli, the president of Itsekiri National Youths Council, INYC, Esimaje Awani and some indigenes of Ugborodo were in attendance at the court.
