pharmagba:you are not the only person feeling the same. Especially Ekweremadu. |
A great MAN. These are people that the igbo Nation should respect and not some albino Nnamdi Kanu. |
….I can’t be intimidated, says Ekweremadu Police on Monday began the probe of an allegation of forgery of Senate Rules leveled against some principal officers of the chamber in collaboration some management team of the National Assembly. The presence of police officers from the Force Headquarters, Abuja at the Senate wing of the National Assembly, signaled the commencement of the probe of the allegation leveled against some supporters of Senate President Bukola Saraki and key members of the National Assembly management. The Police officers were sighted in strategic offices, including those of the Senate President, Senate Clerk, where important records of the Senate are kept. The Police investigation team met with the Clerk of the National Assembly, Alhaji Salisu Maikasuwa and some principal officers over a petition that the senate standing rules were substituted without authorization, to pave the way for Saraki’s emergence as Senate President. The Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Abayomi Shogunle who confirmed this to journalists said that the meeting took place in the office of the clerk on Monday. He denied that the police invited the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu specifically to the Police headquarters. Shogunle said that a senator petitioned that the standing rules were substituted without authorisation of the senate. He disclosed that the meeting where some senators were questioned followed request by the police to the clerk who facilitated it. He also confirmed that the petitioner, whose name was not disclosed, had made statement to the police over the allegation. Asked whether the petition was specifically targeted at the Deputy President of Senate, the deputy force spokesman said it was not. Shogunle said that contrary to report the deputy senate president was not invited by the police, and declined further comment. Some members of the upper legislative chamber had, under the aegis of the Unity Forum, alleged that Senator Saraki camp altered a section of the chamber’s Rules. The Secretary of the Unity Forum, Senator Suleiman Othoman Hunkuyi had on June 30 filed the petition before the Inspector General of Police, alleging that the Senate Standing Order of 2011 was forged to pave way for the controversial election of Saraki as Senate President. In the Petition, Hunkuyi claimed that the Standing Order used by the Clerk of the National Assembly to conduct the election which Saraki won was at variance with what the 7th Senate used all through for its lawmaking businesses. The Senator alleged that the alteration made on the Standing Order was never approved by the 7th Senate before it wound up on June 8, 2015. He expressed concern on the source of a new Standing order which he said “purports to allow secret instead of open ballot system prevalent in all Senate elections as permitted by extant senate rules”. He therefore appealed to the Police to wade in by investigating his allegations in the interest of progress of democracy and specifically to end the crises rocking the National Assembly over the controversial elections of its officials. Meanwhile, Senator Ekweremadu has Monday vowed never to succumb to any threat or intimidation from any quarter. He said he remained on the ground to perform the functions constitutionally assigned to him as Deputy Senate President after his election on June 9, which he said, came about with support from his colleagues in both the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC). He said, so far, the situation was under control and assured his supporters both within and outside Nigeria that security had been beefed up around him in respect of the leadership crisis in the Senate. Ekweremadu in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Uche Anichukwu said he would continue to do all in his capacity to protect democracy and the independence of the legislature. He thanked supporters who he said had been placing calls to him from across Nigeria on the leadership crises rocking the Senate. He said the calls kept coming from “well-meaning Nigerians, elder statesmen, Governors, Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members of the House of Representatives across party lines, concerned members of the international community, youth and women organisations, royal fathers, and Civil Society Organisatons, among others. The statement read: “Senator Ekweremadu wishes to assure all Nigerians and concerned members of the international community that everything is under control and that all democratic steps are being taken to preserve the nation’s democracy and protect the independence of the legislature. “The Deputy President of the Senate further wishes to assure Nigerians that necessary steps are being taken by the security agencies to beef up security around him. “He appreciates the nation’s security agencies for their professional handling of the situation so far, and acknowledges with a deep sense of gratitude the numerous youths across the country who have volunteered to provide additional security around him.” Source: http://dailytimes.com.ng/police-storm-senate-for-clues-on-forgery-charge/ [size=18pt]Want to discuss on More Breaking News? how is this novel? this is just to link an account to an already registered BVN and not to get your BVN in the first place. |
CV? What CV?? Self employed and loving it. ![]() |
SUREPA:i doubt you are a SINCERE Nigerian |
they would be rounded up in due time. |
Sometimes we have to let go so we can better grasp the good things of life. |
engineerboat:i am not justifying it. I am only putting it in perspective. It did not start today. So give PMB time to clear the mess GEJ made. |
9/10 a man in motion. |
PhockPhockMan:Phockcycle |
You died so we can live. RIP TO A HERO. |
ZKOSOSO:it took your ogogoro master 6 years to destroy our economy. Now you want APC to fix it in just one month? You must be missing your daily shot of sapele water. |
sunnyb0b0:really? so you want to base your timeframe on a number of days? 2000 persons were once killed in just one day during GEJ's tenure. |
FowlYansh:He is being celebrated only in your deluded head by your deluded saTANists. |
FowlYansh:You've gone tribal. Typical of a clueless offspring of an ogogoro drinker. |
FowlYansh:it is obvious that you and you Barcanista are very ignorant. I have answered your every question with facts and you still choose to remain clueless like the asylum seeking barcanista. |
nairaland is very silly and childish. |
Jenny1010:you are really not very intelligent. |
FowlYansh:How many times in 6 years did GEJ address you? He would address you in due time. it's just being one month, madam. |
sunnyb0b0:it happened in a year - 2014. We are not counting numbers man, these are peoples lives we are talking about. All i want you to understand is that it is silly when you start measuring numbers killed in GEJ's tenure with numbers killed in PMB's one month. The war against boko haram is being fought and won and we should all stand with our army and our president. |
FowlYansh:you are really ignorant. During the last APC NEC meeting, buhari condemned the attack. Just now on channels TV, they should read HIS letter condemning the attacks. What is your point? |
FowlYansh:you are obviously and eediot. Thought you had some sense. So sorry for over estimating you. |
Wildrage:you are reading my post upside down. The international collaborations is part of the steps to be taken for the grand scheme. He is putting the parts in place...one by one. Very soon the grand scheme would be launched and you my friend would see the result. Mark this page. I am not measuring numbers. The Tanioids started it. Check the frontpage and you would see people quoting numbers and comparing it with GEJ's tenure. It's not right. |
FowlYansh:thank you for voting for Buhari. I promise you that you would never regret it. Don't believe all the lies that PDP is spreading. He is releasing presidential statements on each boko haram incidents. These are words he wrote himself, and not femi adesina's words. At every Event he has attended, he as always condemned the operations of the sect. Watch TV more often and stop believing everything you read on this forum. PMB is and would always remain a better option compared with atiku. |
The seemingly coordinated vicious attacks on the former Governor of Lagos and APC National Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a direct result of the front-line role he played in ending the 16-year reign of the PDP. In recent times, Asiwaju Tinubu has been the target of attacks both in the traditional and Social Media, apparently orchestrated by those who blame him for everything happening to the party, especially the crisis triggered by the National Assembly leadership election. The attacks have become stronger since Friday, when he was needlessly pilloried for not attending the NEC meeting of the party in Abuja, called to resolve the National Assembly leadership crisis. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu https://cdn.pmnewsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Asiwaju-Bola-Tinubu-500x336.jpg ”There is no doubt that the attacks are being orchestrated by those who have not forgiven Asiwaju for the visionary role he played in bringing about the merger of opposition parties into the APC, which then went ahead to win power at the centre. ”But for Asiwaju’s uncommon vision and extraordinary politics, such a merger could never have been consummated, not to talk of winning power at the centre in less than two years of its registration by INEC. ”Add that to APC ‘s unprecedented feat of becoming the first party to unseat a ruling party, and you can then begin to understand why those who had their long snouts tucked into the nectar of power under the PDP will never like the APC visioner. Come to think of it, no PDP member or supporter will ever see anything good in Asiwaju” one source said. Another source said that in a twist of irony, Asiwaju’s unprecedented success in politics has also been the source of anger and hatred directed at him by those who were very comfortable with the status quo, especially since the beginning of the current political dispensation in 1999. ”Recall that when Obasanjo embarked on his onslaught against the South-west in 2007, only Lagos State under Tinubu survived. But for his survival then, which he then leveraged upon to retake power from the PDP in the region, there would have been no APC today, because the ACN – the key legacy party of the APC – would never have been born. ”The PDP, lacking visioners like Tinubu, never for once imagined that some opposition elements will put their differences aside and opt to work together for higher interests, like it happened in the case of the APC, to unhorse them. That was why, in their moment of power stupor, they boasted that the PDP will rule for 60 years. The source said but for Tinubu, that prediction of power longevity, boastful as it might have seemed to many, would have come to pass. ”It is therefore not strange that the man, Tinubu, is being attacked and blamed for every perceived wrong in Nigeria, in the APC or for allegedly seeking to grab every imaginable post in his party. ”But there is no cause for alarm. Every great man in history has gone through the same motion of being pilloried, being misunderstood or being simply hated for their greatness. It is not about to change with Tinubu, but like it or not, his place in Nigeria’s history is guaranteed. He has earned that and no level of attacks can take it from him. ”Tinubu should take solace in the words of another great man of his time, Albert Einstein, who said: ”Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.” Source: http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/07/06/analysis-why-they-are-attacking-bola-tinubu/ |
jerflakes:Did you? well it does not matter. He is your president. So if your president is an olodo, then you, my friend is a super olodo. |
just4kelvin:he is doing something about it man. You do not want him to come to national TV to reveal his plan on fighting boko haram. Security issues are very sensitive. |
