Well I don't know when you bought the car but I have a feeling you didn't buy it new,so all the time the car was used by the previous owner the number of times they pressed the break would have added to the counts(I am not very sure here sha) i think you can continue with your strategy sha,as for me i am not a heavy user,its jut during this christmas time that i noticed it due to the long distance and many places i went,normally i rarely go out or far like that so i don't the error. I will seel the car next year sha.

I take the car to work and back everyday so it's always in use

Ah, conversion keh 😦😦 you want to spoil the car niyen. There is nothing actually wrong with the SBC, it's Mercedes Benz that set the SBC to start doing that trigger when you have reached a certain threshold in the life of the car. So for every time you press the brakes it counts and send the signal to the SBC so all you need is just to add more to increase the threshold from the one set by benz

How do one increase the threshold and when you do , how many brake presses one get. many times I just scan and clear the errors and luckily sometimes it works for the main time

Already made up my mind to sell it (E320 05) abeokuta ..everything works fine aside the general sbc issue but I'll be driving it till I see who got interested.

No I haven't,been looking for it on Jumia or any other store but I haven't found it except on Alibaba. So I guess that's what I will do next. The only time the break error show in my own case is when I drive for long, but once I park ,and switch off the engine,the system will ask me to start the car again and the brake error will disappear till maybe another hours of driving. So what I have resorted to is not to go for long journey until I buy the device

This is what I get too when I drive it for long and sometimes it's when I park I get the brake error. That sbc na pure rubbish. I've tried to convert it but the gear won't come out of park

But wait a minute the SBC doesn't even spoil like that except your car is older than 25 years which I doubt . Is your brake still catching? If yes, have you considered doing SBC threshold reset? .

it's a 2005 e320 and yes the brake still catches but not as normal. anytime I did anything relating to brakes that's the problem I face. I know it'll still disappear when I turn off and on engine

Yea I know. I asked some said about 150-200k would get me a Tokunbo. Have you ever changed sbc once cos I haven't and I just want to sell it off

Any benz with sbc braking system should be avoided. I'm selling off my w211 e320 cos of that shifty sbc brake

Well this may sound strange but I will advice you to charge the secondary battery, or change it Incase it is bad. Also if your main car battery is no properly charged it may trigger that thing too

yea I noticed the braking is electric in some ways. what I do anytime I want to start the car is pump the brake and I won't experience it. w211 is a very solid car. Aside changing oil, I never did anything on engine or gear

what can you say about the braking system especially reduced braking pedal on the dash

I drive an e320 too 05 precisely, the first time it happened to me I shocked as per never experienced it. so I parked the car and off engine to get something, then soon I enter to start , turned the key nothing I had to call Rewire and checked everything all good so we decided to change battery and it started easily, and whenever such happens again I just remove the two battery clips and fix again then it come on again.

okay, the brake isn't just reliable as it's somehow electric. Sometimes it loses power and bring the reduced braking , you'll need to park and off and on engine to regain brake. na nonsense

I feel the pulsation too but I don't think it's from the sbc. Is ur abs light on, mine is on and I drive it like that

Please after starting my e320, and I tried to apply brake I hear a drum like beat from below the car when I apply the brake, after few minutes of driving the noise will stop. Park the car and start it again I will hear the same sound. I don't know what could be the cause and solution please.

if ur e class w211 is between the year 02 to 05 then it is very normal, and have you noticed whenever you open or unlock any of the two front doors, you hear a humming sound from the hood, that's the sbc pumping . The SBC is great but not reliable. when u see red brake light warnings on dashboard you go understand

whenever my e320 enters limp mode I find where to park and off and on the engine then it selects correctly again. I found this in the car manual

I have not change my serpentine belt, but I experience issue of SBC brake warning light, most expecially when I am on long journey travel and I hit bad spot where I need to apply brake so often then boom the brake warning light come up, this will appear on the dash board till when the vehicle cool down. Although I am preparing to change the SBC anytime soon.

the brake warning only came when I slow down like 2-5 mph so it's easier stopping it that way. cos I can't imagine going 30 to 50 mph and the warning came on, na big trouble b dat. but whenever it happens I just turn of and on the engine until it goes away. Have you ever experienced it when doing over 20mph and if so how did you stop the car

I drive Mercedes E320, w211. My problem is that the car keep smoking and shorting oil. I bought the car as Nigeria used, my first mechanic service the car with mobil xhp 1000. And since then I started noticing oil shortage and smoke coming out from the exhaust. The car sound smooth and run very well, my mechanic recommend I changed the engine, not confused I took the car to one of the best mechanic workshop in Abuja (alimoto) for scanning and the results show that their is no problem with the engine of the car, although I have changed the oil back from mobil xhp 1000 to mobil 5 w20 semi synthetic my only problem is just the smoke that comes out from the exhaust. What could be the reason why car emits white smoke but engine sound well and move very well.

I drive one too w211 05 , and I use the Mobil 1000 xhp 8 liters and no issue of smoke. the car has no problem at all but sbc comes few times is my only worries, have you ever got brake warning on ur dash sometimes? and if you have bought the serpentine belt recently what's the number? I saw 5pk 2418 on the faded on in it but I want to be sure
