Althoughhe is my friend, I can also honestly vouch for him.
TV/MoviesRe: Comparing DSTV And HiTV by Shaman: 8:33pm On Nov 17, 2007
@Kosovo

Nigerians will never do any thing meaningful.
This is an irresponsible statement. Pls speak for yourself! I agree that HITV is probably enjoyed at present by those who want to spend so much time watching football, but to say Nigerians as a whole will never do anything meaninful is grossly irresponsible.

This forum was started by a Nigerian and if it is not meaningful then what the hell are you doing here?

At a point in our existence when we are saying that it has never been better being Nigerain than now and we are trying our danmest best to rise above the way we have been painted negatively, there comes such a denouncement from someone whose thoughts must be surely peurile

I guess you were not bouyant enough to afford DSTV 10years ago so you are unaware of what their beginings were like.

If HITV misses the mark some other Nigerian company will get it right and God knows they dont need filthy declarations from those whose thinking has surely become redundant. Pssssssssssssst
Christianity EtcRe: Where Is The Torah And Injil? by Shaman: 3:29pm On Nov 17, 2007
@All

I read through this thread and came to a conclusion: never have I come across such an exercise in futility! To embark so vogorously in discrediting each other's sacred text is nothing but fruitless granstanding. dont we ever learn anything? havent we learnt that condenmation is always counter productive and people are never gonna come over to your side based merely on what you think is superior arguement? Such waste of time and effort!

I always marvel at this ancient art of discrediting that goes on btw muslims and chriastians; totally uneccessary! people will believe what they want to believe and condenmative analysis will not make them change their minds!

If we celebrate that which we have in common rather than focus on things that separate us, we surely would have a better world.

The common humanity that we share is enough to celebrate because all else is a matter of perspective and perception.

There can be unity in diversity; our commonality need not threaten our individuality.

may we all find Peace Profound.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Mysticism Evil? by Shaman: 2:25pm On Nov 17, 2007
@ enitan2002,

your case is just like a man sitting at the top of a tree staring at a mountain top, and you were making fun at those standing on their two feet on ground who were making effort to get to the top of the mountain.
Enitan2002,

where in my posts did i display such arrogance? Did I say anywhere that I was better, that I had knowledge that's inaccessible to others? Haba!

Get to know the will of your creator and starts living accordingly.
Thats the best a man can achieve instead of wasting his precious and limited time in astral-projection?
Again, where did I suggest that i was involved or even remotely interested in astral travelling? Didi u actually read my response to jerrymania? My mystical quest is not extended to such lengths and will never be. Also, how did you come to the conclusion that I didnt have an idea of the will of my creator and that I ahve not started living accordingly?

Hmmm, this are interesting declarations from a member of a respected organisation like the Grail Message.

@m-nwankwo,

I like the flow of your thoughts; shows a lot of maturity, the fold of students of mysticism is the last place to find acrimony and exclusivist declarations.
We should know better.

May it please the cosmic to always guide our journey through the path of light and berth humility in our hearts. so mote it be.

Peace Profound.

@all

Glad that I have heard from you today words that should come from those with better understanding.

@enitan2002

where i stand? simple: on the side of love trancedental; on the side of truth justice and fairness; on the side of peace and beauty, enough? grin grin grin

U wonder where one may find chris in times like these? Again simple: within your heart. remember God of your heart and understanding?

@Jerrymania

I dont think what you are saying is false and you need not be a frater. What I said and am still saying is that mysticism is not about abstact travel or out of body experiences, it's about individual enlightenment and upliftment.

Peace profound
Christianity EtcRe: Is Mysticism Evil? by Shaman: 9:09pm On Nov 14, 2007
@ Jerrmania

How can anything dedicated to better understanding be evil?

What u were involved in was not mysticism, it was magic ans trasposition.

Justcool and Enitan2002

I have heard my members of the GM speak and i have many close friends amongst them. It is not in my place to judge you but is GM the way? or is it just one of the ways? a way rather than the way? I thought such declarations were the exclusive prerogative of fanatics. And you call Eckankar and Buddism occultic organisations> that is sad. esp since this is what religious people think that you are!

Every true seeker will be cosmically guided. Pls check the meaning of mysticism in any dictionary and see what you come up with.

May it please the cosmic to grant us all wisdom and understanding.

Christianity EtcRe: The Man Called Pastor Chris Oyakhilome! by Shaman: 12:27am On Oct 04, 2007
@seun and other antagonists

Pls leave dem pastor Chris for them o!

Na wetin? grin grin grin

Seriously though, in a world where there's a lot of lack and people have needs; sometimes religion is all they have! Pls let them hold on to it.

I was at Pastor Chris' church in Oregun once about 10 years ago. he wasn't around that day so the wife preached. after the service i knew i was never going back there and I told the friend that invited me so.

But i wont bash him; if you see a guy who relaxes his hair and his trainee pastors follow suit and you choose to worship there, it's your choice. God works in miraculous ways, abi?

Seun, abeg leave dem o! Remember what Pascal (I think) said: "Religion is the Opium of the people."

Nuff said,

@RichyBlack

Nice insight. I also follow the teachings of Christ, knowing that interpretations of his saying go beyond what is commonly perceived.

I know of many mystic/Christian/Muslim union that have co-existed in perfect harmony. Like I said before, where true light shines, darkness has no place.

let's all keep sharing.

Peace.

Have no fears bro, though I thank you for your concerns. Be rest-assured that I have not gotten myself into anything I can't handle. I do agree that there are possibilities of getting misleading info and direction; but if you're a true seeker you'll be led by God. Where true light shines, darkness has no place.

@RichyBlack

I know little about Sufism. I am not a Sufist and would be glad if any one who is a Sufist or knows about Sufism would oblige us.

Meanwhile, would you guys like to talk about what led you to become a mystic or follow the mystical path?

For me, I guess there ways always a quest deep down and when I got tired of organised religion in 1993 and walked away, I basically did not know what I was looking for but knew I was unsatisfied with what i was getting.

It took 12 years to find my path and so began my quest. It has been awesome since then and greater illumination each day. My family is very christian and I'm cool with cool that and I know my father will have no qualms with my mystical affiliation when I finally tell him!

My loved one is in the know, though she's a chriatian.

So there's my story. Do tell us yours if you feel like.

Peace

@ Cgift

Myticism symply attempts to pave the way for a more personal and intuitive union with the devine. It is not as strange or as cloudy as people tend to make it.

@RichyBlack

Yes, there's a lot of misrepresentation of what mysticism really is or who mystics are, misinformation s the other of the day, mostly due to fear or ignorance. But I didn't start this thread so that those of us who are mystically inckined can convince others, that is a choice for each to make. This is just an oppurtunity for us to share the beauty within our souls and where we can, to help answer sincere questions about mysticism.

Mystics on Nairaland

Fraternal greetings to all students of mysticism and those who are mystically inclined on our beloved Nairaland. May it please the cosmic to continue to guide us all to the light.

This thread is just an avenue for students of mysticism and those who are interested in mysticism to share their thoughts. It is up to you if you want to reveal your mystical affiliation. You are not required to but do feel free if you so desire.

All are welcome to ask questions, comments and opinions related to mysticism.

All members or aspiring members of all mystical orders and fraternities that are geared towards illumination and the love of God, nature and fellow human beings are most welcome.

Peace to all.
Christianity EtcRe: God Made Him Gay? by Shaman: 11:27pm On Sep 27, 2007
@ All

It is not important, in my opinion, whether God made him gay or not. At the core of the existence and advancement of his soul, his sexual orientation is of little consequence. What is most important, as I understand it, is the content of his character.

If we all understand that we are at different stages in the evolution of our souls then we will understand that each one of us is only trying to become better. At some stage, this too shall pass.

It is the content of our character, the work we are willing to do with the God that rules our heart and our relationship with our fellow humans and nature that will determine our advancement or otherwise.

I may be wrong, and if I am I am humble enough to learnfrom others but that is what I know for sure at this moment.

Peace.
