izzou:LASTMA for one. Atleast you don't see them often in the media for being as money grovelling as the Police. I won't know about that. It's not my field. But I'm sure S.O.N is doing a good job in that aspect. Airplane crashes is extreme. Let's start with delayed flight, without apology to the customer, lost of luggage, genuine bad attitude from airline customer care reps. |
izzou:laws don't work, laws are enforced and those who enforce it are people of repute, people that are devoid of religious and tribal sentiment. |
izzou:of course they bad mouthed LASG and say whatever, like they're use to doing. It is among the things they will use to paint LASG bad.... I already picked a side. |
izzou:exactly what I'm saying. Knowing the laws are weak, yet you still do the right thing. Not break the law and start claiming to be a saint when you're far from it. In this country, obeying the law and doing what is right will make people see you as a fool. Come to think of it, Lagos state government have started impounding vehicles of traffic offenders. I remember the case of one guy who broke traffic law, his vehicle was auctioned only for Twitter users to start calling for people to make contributions to him to help him buy another vehicle. Bros abeg make we leave matter for matthais. |
DissTroy:funny how you ignored the post of me being sober. Your psychoanalysis won't work on me this time bro. ![]() |
izzou:of course, laws keeps us in check, 200 million people won't change overnight because they're so use to living and breaking the law. Imagine Rufai Oseni, who drove on BRT lane harassing an police officer and threatening him with calling the governor. Kindly note, he's a coded Peter Obi supporter oh. Would he have even apologized if he wasn't codedly told to do so. Abegi bros leave matter. |
DissTroy:I've been sober since my last Nairaland duel. |
izzou:Yet even with the laws in the US, Congress was invaded by people who in a way, are not different from NANS, who went to prevent people from traveling in the airport. Hmmm |
DissTroy:Personally. I don't care if a man if from Mars, as long as he has shown me he is capable and can provide me with an enabling environment for me to do business and live without looking over my shoulder. |
DissTroy:and who think the people who are behind those oil leakages will be happy with you? Especially when you know they're members of you political party and they pull more than enough political weight to make your presidency fail. Next is ensuring strong institutions. Why are politicians jailed for corruption released in months? Why do Yahoo boys get 6 months imprisonment but a hungry man who stole ogbono soup jailed for 3 years. Strong institutions.institutions that have been compromised? If not for Onnoghen's removal, would we have known judges can be bribed? A determined president would ensure a welcome policy like the Whistle Blower policy of GMB doesn't die. That's help cut corruption.yes of course, after blowing the whistle, your details will be released and those whom you blew the whistle on will come avenging. Kindly note the police won't come to your rescue. They might even tell you they don't have fuel in their Hilux to use to come to your aid. |
izzou:abegi. So how do you think our laws can be enforced? |
Donjazet2:well, one way or the other, we are somehow saying the same thing. |
DissTroy:You know me well to know getting nosy is my stock in trade. I deal with specifics, first hand experience and the likes. |
Donjazet2:the legislature make the law, the executive enforce it. |
izzou:Lmao. How will a determined president fix our porous laws? Is the determined president responsible for making our porous laws? Once again, how will he fix it? By enforcing it? Once again, how will he enforce it when the agencies that are suppose to enforce the laws are corrupt to the brim. In Nigeria, when laws are enforced, Nigerians groan and lament. They complain and attach religious and tribal sentiment to it. So tell me, is it this police force, that is full of illiterates and halfwits, who expect to enforce laws? Izzou, you and disstroy are idealists and idealists don't prosper in Nigeria. |
izzou:That is among the issue. Our laws are porous, easily twisted and thwarted. It is among the things that is causing problems. I'm sure, as you are sure, the countries we admire have religious laws enshrined in their constitution? The countries we admire, their laws are enforced, devoid of sentiment or any religious or traditional attachment. In Nigeria, it is totally different... |
izzou:We the people. When we put aside our petty and nonsense difference and decide for ourselves we want a country that works, one which we and our children that will come after us will be proud of. |
DissTroy:you still didn't say where you visited in Anambra bro. Don't deviate. State the obvious and forget about revealing too much. If you can post your picture to buttress a point, why can't you give specifics, eh? I reiterate. Nigeria isn't China. A determined president who wants to fix this country will end up causing problems, especially with the way our constitution is. I wonder when causing problems now translate to causing disaster. You obidient lot really like twisting people's words and giving your own interpretations. |
DissTroy:nope. You're the one saying this. Anyone who wants to fix Nigeria will first be determined to know how to tackle the problems from grassroot by building bridges and uniting people from all across the country, so his actions won't seem like his has hidden agendas. That person is Asiwaju. I don't have to answer at the risk of giving away too much but in 2012 and 2013. It's the same reason I had to be in Trans-Amadi, Port Harcourt and Aba - I needed a mech engineering company for a custom design which formed a prototype. Most had closed down in Anambra and Aba so I settled for the one in Port Harcourt still manufacturing then. I got a referral to them from Anambra.whatever happened to we moving beyond being faceless? You mentioned Trans-Amadi in PH but you didn't mention the place you visited in Anambra, and you don't want to give away too much info? ![]() Just because you dislike Obi doesn't mean you should shit on the state totally. Anambra was leading in national and international competitions during Obi's time. Top in WAEC too. I guess that is also on paper.Actually I don't dislike him, I just don't know him well enough to vote for him. After his tenure as governor, he went cold and wasn't even heard of, it wasn't until Atiku picked him to run with him he started being famous among people who don't know their left from their right, same can't be said for Asiwaju, who has been on the fore front battling since 1992. Genghis Khan murdering 40 million people is just an allegation too. I agree.ah well, as at when Genghis Khan walked this earth, murdering 40 million people wasn't a crime was it? I wouldn't know. LoL. |
ashewoboy:don't forget money and reckless spending also. |
DissTroy:yeah right, I've heard it all before. I agree even though nobody was fingered in particular for her murder..... My point exactly! A determined GCFR would have stopped BH in their tracks. But you claim a determined President is a disaster. So according to you, GEJ being determined to end the problem caused more problems? You've had enough shots for today. Tell the barman to stop serving you more drinks.I never said or claimed a determined president is a disaster. I said a determined president who wants to stop corruption and the abysmal turn the country is taking will cause more problems. There's a difference, a big difference. Gej caused problems because he was inept. He wanted to please everybody and ended causing problems everywhere. Determined was something Gej isn't. More pointedly when Obi was in office? Yes. And Anambra went from 26 in education to 1 under him.Give us date and time. Give us location, not just 'yes'. Anambra went from 26 to number 1 under him in education. That's on paper. I don't live in Anambra, all I know for sure is, I've seen students in Anambra and damn!. And why are you always shying away from asking questions about financial misappropriation? Let's compare Tinubu and Obi on a thievery scale. Or let's compare Obi and any of his peers on that same scale.if we compare based on corruption you will only throw allegations everywhere and allegations arent facts. All what you've been saying about Asiwaju are allegations, not one fact, just allegations thrown by the people's opinions of social media. Period. |
DissTroy:anybody can be intelligent, even a local dog can be intelligent. Once again, intelligence isn't synonymous to being a good leader. I still wonder why you call Asiwaju a thief when he hasn't been arrested, trialed or even convicted by a court of law.they willing admitted to commiting those crimes so they are guilty. This is not the same with you calling Asiwaju thief continuously. A determine Nigerian president will only end up causing more problems than he can solve.didn't GEJ cause problems? Wasn't in GEJ tenure Boko Haram developed wings and started wrecking havoc on Nigerians? Oh the irony!you're only saying I'm contracting myself because you readily don't want to understand what I'm saying, even though I know you do. Tell me Kay, have you been to Anambra state before? |
DissTroy:I know what my last comment was, I wrote it didn't I. What I meant was politics is not about values, ethics and the likes. I also buttressed it by saying it's not just the economy that takes a nose dive whenever a new president is sworn is, values, ethics, morals and the likes also take a nose dive. That Osinbajo is the best read of the lot, very intelligent, and thnks on the spot, improvising intelligently without prepared speeches, is enough reason to vote him in. He has no baggage too and the first VP/deputy in 12 years without an embezzlement allegation.and how exactly did Obama fair with all his carriage and intelligence? Having carriage and being intelligent isn't synonymous with being a good leader. No, it's because Obi isn't a thief and he's the best proven administrator of the top 3.of course Obi isn't a thief. He hasn't been convicted by a competent court of law. Obi being a proven administrator is something I didn't see when I visited Anambra when he was governor of the state. The state looked. Like something from a Hollywood horror movie. I still wonder why you call Asiwaju a thief when he hasn't been arrested, trialed or even convicted by a court of law. I have also pointed put that we lose a lot to wastage. Obi is that drain plug.hmmm. You think curbing wastage will solve Nigeria's problems? China gpt better immediately they got a determined President. If your boss at work insists on punctuality and punishes absence from work, everyone would sit up.that is China, not Nigeria. Nigeria and China are two different country. A determine Nigerian president will only end up causing more problems than he can solve. Running a country is way different from running your private company. |
DissTroy:my main man. This is not about ethics, morals or values or whatever, it is about interest, this is what politics is about. You said it yourself, you would have thrown your full weight behind Osinbajo, if he had emerge APC flag bearer because he is a strong advocate of the tech industry, now that reads so much like interest, and you even said it that you support Peter Obi because amongst the candidates, he's most likely the one who will support the tech industry, so bro what's all this morals, values and what not? Politics is about interest. It is about who gets what, when and how. (Lasswell) that is interest, not about morals, values and ethics. If Nigeria gets worse or 'badder' than this, it will not be because of who sits in Aso Rock, it will be because of Nigerians who can't obey simple rules and regulations. Nigerians who abuse public institutions and treat it with disdain. Nigerians who break traffic law and defend it, Nigerians who are friends with nepotism and tribalism, Nigerians who are religious bigots and zealots. Nigerians who benefit from the current abysmal state the country is in etc. Simply put, Nigerians are the reason Nigeria is the way it is. Obi, Atiku, Moghalu, Asiwaju won't work magic, things will only get worse. That is how it has been since 1999. Now you say Asiwaju is senile, sickly and a usurper, tell me bro, when did you get a medical degree for you to arrive at that conclusion? It's the same way you said Asiwaju is a thief, come on bro, come on... |
DissTroy:Can you prove Tinubu is a thief? Can you prove Tinubu was trialed and convicted and sentenced to jail by a court in Nigeria, or anywhere else? Just to clear the air, I never said Tinubu's greatest achievement was patching potholes, my posts are there for anybody to peruse and see. This is what many of you who support Peter Obi is good at, twisting words and making allegations you can't prove up and down. I'm sure if Asiwaju decides to sue you for defamation, your cohorts will rush to support you and accuse Asiwaju of bullying you bla bla bla. And just so you know, there's no such thing as 'credible supporter' we only have supporters. Period. |
thisweekng:Men honestly if Wike had won the PDP primaries, I'll have voted for him wholeheartedly. I like the man. He says it the way it is, no time to sugarcoat. |
Ishilove:best if all, they are human beings. ![]() |
Spy360:there is always a solution to every problem, the solution might not be known, but it is there, waiting for whoever needs it, to see it. Now as regard Nigeria, we Nigerians need to get our head out of our asses. We need to stop believing the system is there for us to abuse it, and use it for our benefit and that of our families. Laws need to be enforced, penalties need to be put in place, Nigerians need to see that the system works and whoever is found wanting, will listen to the music, no matter who you are. Our religion needs to take a billion step backward and out of maters of state. Our tribal affiliation needs to be tune down, in short, tribalism and nepotism should be a capital offense, and whoever is found guilty, should be sent to 30 years in prison. Best of all, that aberration we call the 1999 constitution, needs a complete overhaul. Nigeria should come first, not our tribe or religion. |
FBS:so the strict law and system we have in place, is it being adhere to? |
Segedinho:well I'm not. Please don't generalize. Human by default are corrupt and would go for a fast and easy link,/way to get what they want and only the system can quash that urge....of course. This is how we support corruption, Saying exactly what you just said. Do we really need a system in place to stop us from being corrupt It lies in the hand of the gov to make a strict law or put in a working system to restrict the corrupt act..if that strict law is put in place, I'm telling you Nigerians will react negatively to it, and say the government is hunting them, while the government is enjoying the same thing it is hunting them for. Nigerians like to make silly excuse to justify their corrupt habit. |
DissTroy:yeah right. Yet he was fingered in the Pandora scandal. I heard that. ![]() |
nihilistjnr:bro he will fail. His failure will be monumental. There's absolutely nothing Peter Obi, Atiku or Tinubu can do. The salvation of Nigeria rest on the hands of Nigerians. The same Nigerians who see it as their God given right to misbehave and disobey rules and regulations with reckless abandon. Did you notice how not just the economy, but our values, ethics and morals always take a nose dive anytime a new president is sworn in? Things will only get worse because the mind of the average Nigerian is corrupt beyond redemption and the system that is suppose to prevent that corruption has been corrupted by Nigerians. |
