Fashion / What You Need To Know About Perfumes by Sharksblow(m): 10:01am On Nov 06, 2016
Perfume (Latin “per fume” meaning “through smoke”) was highly favored by the Egyptians, Romans, and Arabs.

The History Eastern Asia People used to make perfumes from spices and herbs like bergamot, myrtle, coriander, conifer resin, and almond. The use of flowers came only
after Avicenna, an Iranian doctor and chemist showed the process of distillation, whereby oils could be extracted from
flowers. In 1370, at the behest of Queen Elizabeth of Hungary, the world’s first modern perfume – “Hungary Water” was made by blending scented oils in alcohol
solution.

Nairaland / General / Why Leadership Training Is Important by Sharksblow(m): 9:05am On Nov 06, 2016
People who participate in leadership development develop a broad and deep understanding of issues affecting their
organizations/company, such as changes in leadership, accountability and employee empowerment.

Leadership development enables leaders to boost their own performance, craft solutions to company problems, enhance decision-making skills, brainstorm productivity strategies and promote accountability within the company.

Religion / Re: Legally Married To Two Wives Before Knowing God, What Should I Do? by Sharksblow(m): 12:57pm On Oct 23, 2016
Keep both, sending one away can't erase the fact that you are already into polygamy. As for heaven and the bible..... Are u planning to become a pastor or a leader in the church? If no, don't worry, you will make heaven if you do good in life and in the treatment of your fellow beings, as you can be married to ONLY one and still go to HELL. If yes, this is not the right place to seek advice, go to the CHURCH leaders for advice as different churches have different opinions about this. I've seen a church where the calendar puts the pictures of the pastor and his wives. And I've seen churches that will totally condemn two or more wives.

Politics / JAGABAN Is Only Human: A Southern Plea by Sharksblow(m): 5:51pm On Oct 05, 2016
The Yoruba race has had no greater leader than the one called “Jagaban of African Politics”, with due credence to the greatest “AWO”. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, not knowing the best designation to qualify this great Nigerian, Ex- Senator, Ex-Governor, Billionaire in all modesty, Entrepreneur etc, grew through the ranks in Nigerian politics, fought many battles, won wars and a force to reckon with not only in Nigeria but also Africa. His franchise and Affiliation knows no geographical boundaries. He is the AFOBAJE and the most powerful political mentor (As against Godfather) in Nigeria.

This Article is not to sing his praise but to emphatically show that MAN is not GOD. This Yoruba leader whom I respect so much is not flawless. The biggest mistake of his Life was made by him and Southern Leaders in 2015. Lord Lugard in 1914 made the singular mistake of “mixing up” very dissimilar North and South of Nigeria, that statement is still an object of debate but the result of what Nigeria has experienced since then, is an evidence to whether the amalgamation was a miracle or a mistake. Jagaban in 2015, a century later, successfully amalgamated very dissimilar political parties with different ideologies together in order to champion “CHANGE”. The Republican and the Democrats in USA will never merge. The result of this merger is obvious in what Nigerians are experiencing today.

Weren’t his Intentions genuine? Did he envisage the fact that this administration will bite the finger that fed them? Can this mistake be corrected? Isn’t the CHANGE evident either for good or bad?

Sadly, its painful that I must confess that the IGBOS will say “We Told you so. They know their enemy and will never flirt with them, But Yoruba are rationale people, welcoming and highly educated, which should be a blessing But isn’t that our greatest woes in the last three decades?

I am not in doubt that Jagaban and the rest of the Southern Leaders will fix this “Presidential Mistake” but they need to exercise caution so that the same mistake won’t happen the third time, Merge Southern economy, southern children, southern youths, southern states together; Secure your territories, That’s what the North is Good at, South should learn from their counterpart. Nigeria will not break but south should “REGIONALIZE”, the North has done that long ago.

Ministerial Nominee from South should be wise. Tinubu , Obasanjo, jonathan, Okorocha, peter Obi, Adams Oshiomole, Mimiko, Aregbesola, Ifeanyi Okowa, Wike, Ambode, Amosun, Gbenga Daniel, Gbajabiamila, Jimi Agbaje etc. I call on you all to Unite the southern people and economy, the future of the Nigerian Mixed states needs your cooperation. Serving Senators and ministers Be wise once again. After a while, you all will come back home. What you do today will remain after you are all Dead and Gone.

South should Unite behind Our Leaders irrespective of difference in party Affiliations, The Northerners may be members of APC or PDP, but the Northern Agenda is always First in their heart and that Unites them.

Cutting Jagaban to size is cutting all of us in the south to size. Anti-Corruption campaign will not take any major northerner to jail; Saraki is still senate president After all. 2015 was our collective mistake; we need each other now than ever before. After all ‘HE IS NOT GOD’ and WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES.

Religion / What If You've Been In The Wrong Religion All Along? by Sharksblow(m): 9:08am On Jul 17, 2016
As you rightly know, there are hundreds, if not thousands of religions in the world, with millions (some can boast of billions) of adherents across the globe, with Christianity and Islam standing out as the two most popular religions. There are others like Buddhism, Hinduism, Krishna, African Traditional Religion (ATR), amongst others. Even within these same religions, there are sects who believe their tenets and doctrines are the best and those of others are faulty, if not out-rightly heretic. The case of Sunni and the Shiite Muslims comes to mind, just like those of Jehovah’s witnesses, white garment-wearing churches, Pentecostals, orthodox churches, Brotherhood of the Cross and star etc. They all claim to be members of one big umbrella-Christianity, but members of each of these sects or groups do not see themselves as being members of one big family, instead more like rivals or antagonists, with each claiming to be serving the only true God . Just like people claim to have found inner peace and a reason to live and love because of religion, others have family members mourning because they have lost loved ones owing to the fall-outs of religious intolerance and extremism.

Many people were born into a particular religion and grow up with the feeling that their religion is superior and only true way to God. There is the air of arrogance amongst the adherents of these religions, with most Christians and Muslims believing that anyone who doesn’t worship God in their own way, will end in hell-fire where they would burn till eternity. Being just members of any of these two religions is not even enough to make you escape the fury of “hell-fire” as is the case with Christianity except you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal savior and live your life according to his dictates. All of these religions have influential people in all areas of human endeavours, that is to say they’re not doing too badly, and also they’ve been able to start from just a few hundreds of adherents and spread across the world, gaining more grounds and momentum as the years go by, meaning they have stood the test of time. One quick question that comes to mind is this- if only just one of these religions is the most genuine and approved by “God”, then why has He allowed all others to thrive and stand the test of time and not destroyed the wrong ones ? Also, what if on the last day, “Judgment day” as believed by some religions, you find out that you have been in the wrong religion all through and been serving the wrong God all along. How would you feel?

Sheggy13:
The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, on Tuesday evaded questions on the recent calls for the probe of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, for purchasing properties worth $1.5m in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
Magu was departing the Rockview Classic Hotel, in Abuja, venue of a one-day workshop on ‘Anti-corruption, ethics of the legal profession and justice sector,’ when some journalists approached him for an interview.
The event was co-organised by the Nigerian Bar Association and the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption
Magu had adjusted himself to take questions from the journalists but as soon as the first question bordering on Buratai was asked, he sharply turned back and jumped into his waiting car.
Incidentally, while speaking earlier at the event, Magu had lamented various corrupt acts including a situation where a civil servant paid as much as over N800m as legal fee to lawyer.
Magu queried how a civil servant could have legitimately earned as much as N800m to pay a lawyer.
This came few days after some prominent legal practitioners, including Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), had urged President Muhammadu Buhari to sack Buratai, if the Army chief failed to voluntarily resign following the revelation that he purchased the Dubai properties.
