Don't generalise the misfortune that your mother fell into. Some of us grew up in homes where our fathers were the greatest cheerleaders of our mothers and propelled them to greater heights.

If your own father was talented in suppressing your mother, that is your family's misfortune. Your goal should be to get a man that will bring out the best in you, not the beast in you.

Some of you just post comments that are unverified, if DSS picks you up to provide proof and data on how govt is spending billions to defend naira, you will start crying and blaming the devil. For God sake, naira is steadily appreciating because of the policies which are currently being implemented. Secondly, another reason for this is that importationnof refined petroleum is falling and this would continue further as soon as portharcourt and dangote refineries products hit the market in the coming weeks. Please try and appreciate the efforts the government is putting in to rescue the economy. Please be guided
What are the policies? Can you provide any tangible proof that importation of refined petroleum has reduced? I await your answers.

You are just looking for who to justify your immature act. She doesn't owe you her body. She's just a friend with no string attached. If you want her cherry, you two must come to an agreement. Remember, decent women don't give up the cherry that easy, it means a lot to them. Respect that and respect her.

In as much as I don't support senselessly giving women gifts and money, that shouldn't be the basis for her to give up her cherry which under "normal" circumstances can be given to you without financial enticements.

We are in the middle of March now and nothing has heen heard about the refinery since the first batch of production in February. The question is who did they sell the first batch of refined products to and at what rates? Experts in the house, what's going on?

Business / Re: The Naira/dollar Watch Thread by Sharmeenator(m): 8:31pm On Mar 08
MummyIMadeIt:
Naira has been dormant and hovering btw the 1450 - 1550 range as against dollars for some weeks now, and this only goes to show two things;

- If naira can regain its story beyond the 1200 mark, then dollars will crash, however

- if naira should should dip to 1700, as against dollar, then expect naira to crash further to an almost all time high of 2500 per dollar
Thank you again for this. Which of the two scenarios is likely to happen and why?

With a support of 1500perdollar, brace up for a higher spike
Sorry my question might sound naive, I'm still learning. How is it supported at 1500 and with more dollars purportedly being reported coming, I'd expect Naira to gain even more.

Is there hope that the rates would come down any time soon or should we brace up for even higher rates?
Business / Better Alternatives To Chippercash And Payday by Sharmeenator(m): 12:20pm On Mar 08
Can anyone suggest better alternatives to ChipperCash and PayDay? Their rates are too high. Dollar is 1600 at the black market but ChipperCash and PayDay are charging 1744 Naira and 1750 Naira respectively to a dollar. I will appreciate ones with reliable debit cards that can work well on foreign sites.

First picture is a screenshot of ChipperCash and the second is that of PayDay. Rates as at today March 8.

Travel / Re: Lagos-New York Flight Price Throwback: This Was Nigeria. What Do You Think Now? by Sharmeenator(m): 11:43am On Mar 06
I'm not sure that picture was taken in 1985. That should be mid to late 90s. That ticket is too expensive for the 80s. I stand corrected though.
Travel / Re: Lagos-New York Flight Price Throwback: This Was Nigeria. What Do You Think Now? by Sharmeenator(m): 11:39am On Mar 06
ThierryJay:

This your analysis no too clear. Let's keep it simple. Both our minimum wage and air fares are in Naira.

In 1985 when minimum wage was 125 Naira, you needed to earn it 139 times to afford the Lagos to New York ticket then.

Now with min wage of 30k and average lag to NY ticket of 2 to 2.5 million Naira, you will need to earn 66 to 81 times the current min wage to afford the ticket.

Seems like it was way more expensive back then.

The cost was for a round trip ticket to and from New York. Round trip to New York today will cost a minimum of 4M. Please recalculate.

This is so misleading abeg. Can you show us the prices in their local currencies in comparison with their minimum wages?

In comparison with Nigeria's minimum wage which is 30k, the price per litre is 2.23%. Can we get same for other countries stated in the statistics above?

Phones / Re: NCC To Telecom Operators: All SIMs not linked To NIN Must Be Blocked Today by Sharmeenator(m): 8:18pm On Feb 28
This country is hopeless. A lot of people have been trying so hard to get NIN, but failed due to the incessant network outages from NIMC end. I have attempted to correct an issue affecting my NIN for months now, each time I get to NIMC office or their accredited agents, i was told no network, yet they are threatening to block lines. Is it my fault that they can't get their systems to run smoothly without going iff for days? Should I start sleeping in their offices just to get the stupid NIN? I'm just so tired of this country and majority of the foolish citizens that are hell-bent to keep us down. Abeg make dem block the lines make we rest.
