Politics › Re: Governorship Election: PDP Woos Ambode by Sharmeenator(m): 10:02am On Sep 14, 2018 |
I wish I could give you a million likes for this piece. This is my position too. Ambode has failed terribly in his first tenure. Evidence abound, especially if you drive around Lagos. I can't imagine someone sitting on an opaque trillion naira budget dishing out mediocrities all over and some people won't condemn it because of political affiliation. deomelo: Going by his predecessors performance within the same time period, Ambode is very very far behind. He's incompetent, too pretty and very vindictive.
He's setting us back by abandoning projects, programs and policies left by his predecessors and lagosians are paying daily for his incompetence and lack of foresight.
Look at the issue of waste management, Tinubu created LAWMA and Fashola built on it and turned it into the best waste management agency in Nigeria with multi billion naira infrastructure all over the state, but instead of continuity and building on his predecessors accomplishments and what's working, he abandoned LAWMA and created a huge mess with Garbage taking over the whole state.
He abandoned ongoing project like the massive ilubirin housing estate his predecessor wrestled away from useless Jonathan and the PDP, Lagos metro is far far behind, 4th mainland bridge is still a dream and all he's doing are mediocre face lift jobs like bus stops, flyover, motor park and laybys. Bad roads and potholes nko.?
Fashola in his first term with less than half of Ambode's budget took Lagos State to the next level. He built power plants, schools, hospitals, waterworks, maternity centers, skills centers, parks, housing estates and so on. I know because I documemted everything here on NL.
Going by his predecessors accomplishments and the N 1 trillion budget Ambode is sitting on, he failed lagosians, we should be far far ahead of mediocre run do that even poorer states are excelling in.
Even changing the popular Lagos call to duty mantra from eko o ni baje was dumb and idiotic
Good riddance. |

Kebbi shares border with some parts of Niger republic and Benin I just confirmed it. I know Kebbi is in the Northwest but I never thought it shares border with two countries. Thanks for the clarification, I learnt something new today. But I totally disagree with the population figure. Kebbi has 3.1 million people according to last census. |

Family › Re: How Do You Cope With Pressure To Cheat On Your Spouse? by Sharmeenator(m): 12:31am On Jul 06, 2018 |
Thank you for this bro. I always tell people cheating is freaking expensive. It doesn't come cheap especially when you are married. No woman who's aware that you are married would agree to that except for financial gains or to later snatch you away from your wife and family. If you must cheat, be comfortable enough and beware of the consequences. Boss13: Cheating is an expensive habit. It requires money and time. In fact time is the most strenuous factor because ladies require the attention of their love one. Cheating can be stressful too because you become preoccupied with satisfying multiple women. Cheating can be dangerous as you may end up with STIs or extramarital kids. Cheating has consequences, you might break up your home and lose your wife or family.
On the other hand, cheating can be fun as you enjoy the different personalities and companies of the ladies you are entitled to.
In the case you choose to cheat, please review the demerits and benefits. Then consider if you would want to embark on it. Many men get the pressure to cheat. Some engage in it whilst others do not based on their person decision or circumstances holding them back. You must understand the power dynamic in your home before you consider cheating.
If you are starting out in life, please don’t consider cheating because like I previous mentioned, it is an expensive venture. Many Nigeria ladies would not consider a struggling young man except they intend to snatch you away. So you must get your money right and if your money isn’t right, throw away that idea as you would end up spending the income meant for your family on women, and that’s stupid.
Is cheating a crime, No. Is it immoral, No according to African customs and traditions. However, it would be stupid if a man neglects his family, which is his primary responsibility, to follow women. In conclusion, the decision is yours to make. |

The last thing I would do is to condemn you. You have made a big mistake, please don't make a bigger one. Try everything possible to forget your ex. Your focus now should be on your husband. I'm sure if you look well, you will see one or two things you like about him. Give the new relationship a try and see it flourish with time. You didn't mention in your post that he treats you badly, I guess he's a great guy. Invest your emotion, time and resources to make it work before it's too late so you don't live your remaining life in regret. |
Education › Re: Akeredolu Hires Pro-govt Students To Counter Protests Over AAUA Tuition Hike by Sharmeenator(m): 9:59am On Apr 12, 2018 |
I beg to differ with your analysis sir. You forgot to add fees students pay per annum to the list. Let's say the students pay 40k per annum and assuming the total number is students in ABU is 30k, which I believe is way more than that. 40k X 30k = 1.2billion naira. This is the least ABU would make per annum. 50million Naira overhead cost per month is 600million per annum, which is small compared to what they make from Students fees in a year. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Cromcruach91: Correct.
I would add that fee rises were inevitable when Jonathan told ASUU the truth in 2013...that govt could not give universites N3trillion naira in extra funding. It was a harsh but unfortunate truth...meaning fee rises were promptly a matter of time.
We have to face reality. I myself hate it that poor students are going to suffer...I REALLY REALLY HATE IT. God knows...in my old university we used to pay N2000 back then AND EVEN THEN some guys could not afford it....and as for facilties...we did not have adequate facilties, and the hostels...which we paid N90 for were a mess.
ABU's VC recently said that his overhead costs for the unviersity (which includes two campuses, and several other institutions) cost N50million a month....and what he got from the govt for overheads was N120million a year. Tell me , how are unviersites going to keep on surving.? Is it by taking another loan from Maman IMF again?
And if care is not taken...the children of the rich are going to port to private unis, and overseas...get better education, and come and be chasing the poor kids from poorly funded unviersites off the job market. |

KENZINCO: Sometimes when people just jump into any topic and open their mouth even when they know noting about it, I just dey wonder.
Vissionscape/Cleaner Lagos Initiative is the best thing that could happen to waste Management in a state like Lagos EXCEPT for the Contract value which I see might be engraved in massive fraudulent practice . But for the Dirt we've been seeing around for the past months, it is very clear and I can boldly confirm that it is the work of some saboteur who I think are from the PSP. They have been doing all they can to prove a point buy depositing dirts in every available places. This VissionScape guys will clear a huge refuse today at a spot and early the next morning you'll get there and see a huge refuse sometimes even more than the ones that was cleared the day before. But some lagosians will get there, take pictures, post on social media and start spreading but they won't reason to ask question as to why it has suddenly become like that. Shey my dirty wey dem neva carry for over a month now, na PSP people put am. You guys and stupid propaganda. The fact is that Visionscape can't do it alone. You can't monopolize waste collection especially in a city like Lagos. You got to have many private companies on board working hand in hand for effective service delivery. There's a working template on ground before. You don't just scrap a working template and start all over because you are trying to undo what your predecessor has done. What was expected from Ambode was to improve upon what Fashola did in that sector just as Fashola improved upon Tinubu's waste collection ideas. This is a welcome idea, let's hope he won't mess it up again |

Hey guys! My Honda Accord Baby boy makes a small crank sound when I move the gear from park to reverse. It doesn't make the sound when I move from park to drive or neutral and vice versa. It only makes the sound when I move from park to reverse. The driving is smooth, no issue regarding transmission yet, just the silent sound.
What could be the cause? My mechanic can't tell what the problem is and I don't want him to mess with my transmission.
Ps: Least I forget, we did some body works that involved turning the car by the side two weeks ago.

Honda has this leg problem even thou mine hasn't given me such in 2 years of use.. Stick to the recomend engine and gear oil.. But most importantly.. Before buying.. Do due diligence... Go with a competent mecho to help check out the car and scan the ride to detect hidden faults.. Also.. Some sellers have removed some warning lights like check engine.. When starting the car.. When you turn on ignition.. All dashboard lights should display... Check out for that... I can say a lot.. But ...let the professors Come and give you more tips.. Note.. Any of the cars you choose.. You must check it properly.. Thanks.. |

Romance › Re: I Spend Over #42k Each Month On Generator Alone Working From Home by Sharmeenator(m): 10:17am On Nov 16, 2017 |
Bro, your analysis below is very expensive for an average Joe to afford in Nigeria. I will use myself as an example. I have a 3kva generator which powers my appliances, refrigerator inclusive. I spend btw 18k to 25k a month on fuel depending on frequency of electricity supply for that month. I service it every six months with just N1500. Your monthly lease for 1KW system for 22k won't power my fridge. I will need to spend 50% to 100% to get a lease system that can power my appliances including refrigerator and sometime 1hp air conditioner. An average Nigerian will choose to use generator irrespective of the noise and fumes (which won't affect if far away from the apartment) over your solar power system because it's cheaper in the short run. I am not discrediting solar power system. I believe it's the best but very expensive for an average Joe like me. You will see Nigerians adopting solar power in droves when it becomes cheaper to use. moniker234: Hey Guys,
Seeing this thread and being a solar energy person for close to 5 years now, I can confidently tell that nobody is solving Airforce 1 problem.
Firstly, Solar is the way to go, no doubt about that. However the real issue about going Solar is the upfront cost. Many of you keep talking about 300k to 400k, do you really think that is a small money.
Secondly, most system design advice I see here is wrong. Airforce1 needs either a 1KW of PV plus 2 units of deep cycle batteries (12v 200AH), a charge controller, a 1.5KVA inverter plus wirings, battery and roof rack, battery rack, labour and logistics -This is not a small money to buy outright.
Secondly, if he thinks this is too expensive, he can scale down on his load a little bit, and use a 500W of PV plus 1 unit of battery (12v 200AH), a 950VA inverter, charge controllers, plus wirings, battery rack, roof rack, and labour to get the job done.
Once he does any of the above, he can kiss his Gen and fuel cost good bye for the next 2 decades...sounds too good to be true but it is.
Now I can help provide a 24 months interest-free finance for the above projects. Its simple, see below:
For the 500W System - 35% deposit of N156,450 - 24 monthly repayments of N12,106 Full price - N447k
For the 1KW System -35% deposit of N312,550 -24 monthly repayments of N24,185 Full Price - 893k
All components come with at least a 2 Year warranty.
Secondly, if the above prices are still too high for you, take advantage of PAYG being offered by my company. Here, you lease the solar system for a 5 year period by paying a small connection fee, the pay a fixed monthly fee every month for 60 months after which the system will be left for you.
500W system - Connection fee - N67,500 -Monthly fee - N11,150
1KW System -Connection fee - N135,000 -Monthly fee - N22,350
Whatever suits you here beats you spending over N40k monthly on power. Excluding the annoying noise and fume of a generator plus its maintenance + servicing cost and other minor wahala.
Nigerians need to wise up Pls. We all have internet, google solar financing companies in Nigeria.
I'm available to answer questions if anyone has.
Thanks |

Why are you like this bros? I have been following your posts from page 1, they are all riddled with abuses and hatred. Must you continually use "cursed land" or "eediot" to discribe a particular tribe from a country you share? You are no different from the IPOB or tribalistic Igbos you insult. The truth is that tribalism is a cancer affecting everyone in this country. We are all guilty of it at some points in our day to day lives. Hardly will Yorubas play Igbo or Hausa bands in a party and same applies to other ethnic groups. diadem10: Lol. What's my business with someone's thesis work. Post the figures here, let's see.
Moreover, I checked the no 15 page you pointed out and nothing was stipulated in it! It talked about the analysis being carried out in Akwaibom, Ondo and Edo with their corresponding no of LG! Don't tell me you think the LG are the production areas? That's even quite stupid and lame.
I've always known you eediots to come up with unscrupulous figures with nothing to back them up. Why don't you bring out the figurative facts here, let see with our eyes, not your stupid claim.
The fact that the analysis was held in Ondo, Edo and Akwaibom should tell you the 3 states are the main Palm oil producing state. And what's the nonsense you're chatting about Edo and Delta? Were they not part of the Western state? Oops, according to the greedy eediot, they must be part of Eastern state?
What I don't understand is your foolishness in thinking the SW shouldn't obtain anything from the FG considering we're also entitled to our share of revenues from our proceeds of Palm oil, cocoa, timber, Kola and all these birthed our seaports. It's not like we stopped the other region from getting their own share of seaport yet a landlocked fowl as yourself is wailing over a seaport you can't ever have beacuse you got no sea! Now, repeat after me you've got no sea and you can't ever have a seaport!
Like I stated earlier, our revenues built our seaport and the seaport brought in the major infrastructures, not your foolish barrack army, offices and others.
Now, you can get your accursed self off our land! |
