Business / Re: What Business Can I Start With 100k by Sharonnyl(f): 9:03pm On Jul 07, 2022
You can start an E-commerce business.

E-commerce is you selling products online, you choose a product with a high profit margin say $50, if you sell only 3 a day, that's $150. In a year, that's over $50k in dollars and you can't sell three products a day especially when you have your online store and run adverts to millions of potential audience across social media platforms.

You don't need to store the products, no logistics issues, no pay on delivery, it's pay before shipping, from manufacturer straight to buyer. How do you know the product is good? These products especially in foreign markets are marked with consumer rights protection for the quality ones, then as you Begin to scale, you can have agents to physically assess the products in their location (s).

It's simply, find a product with good profit margin, create your marketing angle, make your creative (video or copy for you ad), deliver on order.

If you have more questions, you can ask. The e-commerce industry is gaining ground.
Phones / Re: My Phone Battery Drains Overnight Wen Am Asleep What's The Solution by Sharonnyl(f): 11:09am On Apr 25, 2022
I used to have this problem. I restricted background apps, optimized battery usage for each app, still...

What I actually did that worked was, I switched on airplane mode and bedtime mood. With this, any percent the phone is at thee night before, is exactly how I meet it in the morning.

Career / Re: Is It Still Worth Learning Graphic Design Or Should I Snub It. by Sharonnyl(f): 6:32pm On Apr 23, 2022
Well, I'm not into graphics design. I do some work on canva and Wix though but I'll relate to you from the eyes of a client and that is, objectively.

First, being a freelancer is not about the niche you're in alone. If you have no interest in designing, coding and all, you'll end up frustrated. There's so much to do. Follow your dream and in that dream, build a niche

The problem isn't really about freelancing, there are so many graphic designers out there, yes, and so many are terrible at their job. The market is saturated but it's never saturated enough for one who knows his craft.

Career / Re: For Those Living In Lagos Or Abuja What Are The Chances For Me? Advice Needed. by Sharonnyl(f): 7:36am On Apr 21, 2022
Hmmm... Make I start here... Nobody sees good in you? You know for people to "see" something in you, you must first see it in yourself. You are just like a mirror, peoples' reaction towards you generally, is a reflection of how you see yourself.
.What you need most importantly is a healthy dose of self esteem and believe in your abilities because, if you take a downtrodden spirit to a new business or location, sorry to say but if you try once and it doesn't work, which can happen to a first timer in business, you'll immediately give yourself a truckload of bad reasons and that's going to be bad.

Renew your mind.

As for how to go about the job. Since you already have a skill, that's good. I don't know how much for accommodation, but for work, there's the Alaba int'l market in Lagos. If you're good at what you do, two things:

1. You can start with oso ahia, aka, affiliate marketing... What this means is, you attach yourself to a boss and help him source for customers. It's a busy market, so you'll need to convince people to buy from the store you work in. How many people you bring, depends on how much you get. You and your oga decide your commission, it begins from there.

2. You can plead with someone who has a bigger shop related to what you do so they can let you use an "attachment" for free (if they have a good heart.) E g, if the person sells phones, pouch etc and your skill is phone repairs, they'll most likely take you in. You're an asset.
You'll grow from there
Keep praying though. Nothing is guaranteed but there's hope.
Career / Re: Am I About To Take A Wrong Decision? by Sharonnyl(f): 6:35am On Apr 20, 2022
I think the first question you should ask yourself is " why do I want a new job?"

Is it because of money?

Or just to get a whole new experience (people do this). Especially since you said you've been teaching for a while.

Do you want the job because of the prestige that comes with it?

If you can sincerely ask yourself why you want the new job, your answer will pop up. Nobody will bear the consequences for you or enjoy the benefits with you. So it's your decision to make. You can only be guided

Career / 4 Ways To Land $500-$1000 Clients Without Having Prior Reviews As A Freelancer by Sharonnyl(f): 5:38pm On Apr 19, 2022
Find yourself giving up on freelancing? You have a good profile, you've followed all required 'packaging' only to end up making so many endless bids with no gigs?

Frequently, freelancers who have no guide on how their used platforms (Upwork, Fiverr etc) operate get spammed by 'bug clients' who receive projects, use them after condemning them and still refuse to pay.

If any of this sounds familiar, then this is for you.

These are no 'monstrous' tips or 'killer secrets' and fortunately so because it means implementing them is easy, as they can swing your finances sky high.

Way 1: Get visible!

We've heard 'use a good profile' one too many times but the truth is, no one will hire you on the basis of a good profile only. To your profile, add visibility. What jobs have you done? Why are they not on your social media handles? Fiverr clients don't live on fiverr. They "chill" on social media. Emeka, where is the work you did before? Why is it not on any fb group? Twitter, here? Be visible!

Way 2: Set your portfolio!

You have a disorganized or empty portfolio. How can you not have projects you've handled before and you want to be a freelancer? Just looking for a 'scape goat' to give you his/her work. Motivating your clients will not give you a project. Past projects will. You're new, no projects yet? Make your own project! If you're a copywriter, write an original copy on your niche. Write it like it was a project you were given by a client. Be original. That works. Add it to your portfolio.

Way 3: Give value. As a freelancer, how many times have you shared helpful tips with other freelancers in your field? You design but you've never held a free class, given a free report, shared a free tip or tips about graphic designing? Wrong. Giving HELPFUL tips occasionally shows your prospects that you are very knowledgeable in your field and can be trusted. So, they give you the job because you look like an 'authority'.

Way 4: Don't bid the lowest.

I know you're just starting. You're trying to be humble. But, if the range is $15-$30 for example, don't bid between $15-19. Quick truth? Nobody wants the lowest price, they want the best offer. How many times have you seen the cheapest thing amongst a particular range and refused buying it. See? If you know why people patronize others, you'll know self esteem is one of the reasons and you'll never bid so low. You know your worth? Charge it. Don't be cheap, don't be pricy yet.

These are things you can begin today. They work! So, begin! smiley
