The device, dubbed the "iPad mini" for now, is expected to have a display of less than eight inches and will be introduced at a special event, sources told the site. Meanwhile, Apple's next generation iPhone will be unveiled at an as yet unannounced event on September 12, the site reports. Apple declined to comment to All Things Digital on its plans http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2012/08/report-ipad-mini-set-to-debut-in-october/1?csp=34news&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+usatoday-NewsTopStories+%28News+-+Top+Stories%29

BEIRUT, Lebanon - Dozens of bodies were found Saturday in a town outside Damascus that has been the focus of what activists described as a scorched-earth campaign by Syrian troops aiming to wipe out rebels and their sympathizers in several suburbs of the capital. Forty to 50 bodies were found in the town ofDaraya, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based group witha network of activists inside Syria. The town had already sustained heavy shelling, and bodies have been turning up there for days in the wake of army raids, leading activists to count more than 100 dead since Wednesday. Most of the victims were found on Saturday in the basement of one building, activists said, and according to activists with the Daraya Coordination Committee, the dead included eight members of a single family, including three children and their mother. The cause of death, and the total number of people killed, could not be determined. Some activists put the death toll at more than 70 and said the victims had been shot execution style. But with so much shelling in recent days, it is difficult to independently verify howthe people died. In a video that activists posted Saturday, which they said showed the dead, many of the corpses appeared to have been burned, suggesting that they might have died in shelling possibly days ago. Still, the violence in Daraya fit with a pattern of deaths that has begun to emerge after raids by government forces in several suburbs of Damascus. Over the past week, activists repeatedly reported that Syrian soldiers have invaded towns where rebels had control, only to leave bodies behind. In most cases, according to photos and video from activists, the victims have been young men who appear to have been shot in the head, but there have also been cases in which victims appeared to have been killed by shelling. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2012/08/26/world/middleeast/Syria.xml |

Paentera: I wished you were quoting with correct information but since that is not the case, here're details of higher denominations in USA that you obviously have little knowledge about but like to use as the best example of everything - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_denominations_of_United_States_currency#.241.2C000_bill - if you want to justify the reason the N5,000 denomination should not be introduced to the Nigerian economy, do so with solid facts that have to do with ohow it will impact on Nigeria rather than refer to other countries that you hardly have knowledge about.at least America knws hOw 2 manage that, they still even use their quarters, when last did u take your #2 coin to d barbershop, and last time i checked there is no inflation whatsoever in d US. . .and how can u possibly compare Nigeria with america. . .this is like asking who's smarter btwn a 2yr old boi and a 40 yr old grown man. . .ur argument(if it is one) is baseless |
J12: The image/picture of an eminent Nigerian personality on this new note should from the Yoruba tribe/West. As it stands right now, Awolowo is the only westerner who's face is pictured on a naira note, thats quite unfair. The northerners have four: Belewa, Murtala, Bello and Aliyu Bornu respectively, the Igbos have Alvan Ikoku and Azikiwe while for the Yoruba's its only Awolowo (Papa Herbert would've been among but the N1 is dead).dont worry. . .u are not making sense,Mrs.kuti is igbo and shud dat be your problem or the inevitable inflation this would cause?? Mtchew, rubbish nxt Post o jere |
simpleij: This does not solve any of our problems rather its going to make d looting process easier for 'them' especially those that stuff the money in their agbada n cap.hehe MR.larouk fawan ![]() ![]() |

Deiok: This people are totally killing our economy. What is it with all this high currency of a thing in this country. Is it some kind of competion or race with other countries. Cause i dont usually see nigeriam coming first in any competition. Soludo and jonathan are the worst . Cbn chairman, and president we have ever have. I cry for the Economy of my country.ehehm*coughs* this is 2012,mister. . .soludo is Long gOne and its NigeriaN |
whealthy: How will a riot be represented on a currency note? Fool!a riot for independence a riot for justice and truth a riot against d oppression of the white man a riot for liberation the kind of riot that made ppl like mandela who they are 2day isnt that cause enough? |
Arcard: i wana knw if 5n,10n and 20n go comot from naijawell thats affirmative, sire this is from d president's desk ![]() |
Paul John: If they're so famous, it shouldn't be until I google them before I know what significant thing they've done.did the president of mother theresa send soldiers 2 kill her?? |
Paul John: If I may ask, what's the special thing these women have done for Nigeria?and politicians/presidents/heads of state are d heroes/heroines abi?? Activists no longer have a place in the heart of d ppl they fight for,is dat what u are saying?? |
HQ: Anyways, let's not forget the Verdict only Applies to the US.bros na BB get africa o!! At least 4 nOw xha |
coogar: samsung only have themselves to blame....10 likes!! #i rest my case |
hisblud: that's interesting, what in your opinion would have been changed to help samsung in the design/feel/look department? will really appreciate your input at least.u see thats why they call it invention. . .most inventions are not really invention, they are improved, upgraded invention. . .did smartphones fall from yonder? Did someone just wake up and said, lets make televisions and let them be in high definition(Hd). . .NO like i said earlier, innovation begets innovation |
tirtimy: Patents are used for protecting ideas, innovation and research. Money are spent and so if a conpany wants to use your idea, he pays for it.help me tell them o!! No mind samsung wey wan use am free of charge ![]() |
jedisco: It was evident Samsung already lost this case from the onset especially with the kind evidence apple put forward. It was just a case of how much in damagesLol. . .i just wish 'others' wud cash in just like apple did ![]() |
jedisco: Although I think Apple is taking this patent war to far, but you won't blame them for trying to protect their innovation.God bless you. . .this is one thing mOst ppl dOnt KnoW. . .THANKS!! Its as if samsung thought they were actually gon get away with this knowing fully well they were violating |
Bawss1: The fact is that innovation thrives from the ideas of others. Apple which is hailed as as a great innovative company achieved that status by using the ideas of others in new novel ways.of coure,i totally agree, innovation begets innovation. . .albeit this does not mean u av 2 create a duplicate of another brand in your name and call it invention,if samsung had at least changed some things in that design and made it look better,we wouldnt be talking abOut this nOw,right? |
dmainboss: This is just unnecessary alarm. The world is moving too fast. Patents and lawsuits can't stop technological innovation and advancement. The Android has come to stay. The best thing Apple can do for herself is to keep being innovative.I lOve the fact that u pointed oUtNew Inventions nOt copied ones. . .if samsung comes up with a new design instead of feeding off apple. . .who's gon stop them?? |
