[quote author=diordaves post=73601428]I love your professionalism. What is your price for a drum of primer? I can vouch for Gbadexy's product and customer service 100%. Amongst all the NL contractors, he has proven himself beyond reasonable doubts. Even if he is a little bit more expensive compared to others, it is worth the extra cost. |
gbadexy:Gbadexy, I give you double thumbs up for the paint job of my house in Akobo, Ibadan. Not only did you deliver as promised and did a good follow up after completion, you also went beyond and above to address my concerns in the MOST PROFESSIONAL manner I've ever experienced with any NIGERIAN CONTRACTOR over many years of three different building projects. I will confidently recommend you to anyone upon request, without an iota of doubt. We need people like you, whose products promote themselves and are truthful with what they say and what they actually do.You talked the talk and also walked the walk. I encourage other contractors on NL to emulate this complete gentle man of honour. |
Pls, how much is the granite counter top? Is there any other counter top material available, at what price |

How much is a complete set for the last picture? |
@abdulwastec I'm watching this project with eagle eyes |
@Gbadexy I must commend you for a job well done.Gbadexy supplied custom made paints for my project about a month ago.It took a lot of Whatsapp messages and pictures, phone calls in the wee hours, many visits back and forth to Sherwin Williams to match the colours before we finally concluded on the colours and quantities.I will post the pictures when painted. |
Can you put the prices? Do you have Nickel brush finish (not chrome) with matching accesories? |
What about 2005 Honda Pilot EXL? |
EgunMogaji:I'm glad you finally found something of equal quality in our local Ibadan for that matter. It's less stressfull and a lot cheaper, compared to shopping, shipping & clearing from yonder.Mind you, I understand that we are all used to the standard here and don't want to settle for less, but Nigerian traders & artisans too are upgrading to our demands for quality products knowing fully well that we "diasporeans " form a sizeable percentage of their clientele. Goodluck as you continue with your adventure in Iwo Rd.You will be pleasantly surprised at what you will find in the treasure hunt. |
@Haji Mufutau55 I am glad this has come to the open forum... after we have tried to settle this offline. Thank you for your patience, Fash78. I am sorry this has turned out to be a disaster for Fash78 and I. I have recommended so many artisans both on NL and Non-NL before and I was never in this kind of swindle or absconded business. This has left me sad... Money is not easy nowadays. I have recommended this guy Sova to more than 10 people and has done satisfactory job. I did not see this one coming. We have been trying to locate this guy for several months now... but all to no avail. But I am still working hard on this. I have always stood behind those that I recommended but this is the first time my name has been dragged in mud. All I have ever done is to help the Client and the Artisans... never demanded any form of payback from anyone. With this disappointment, no recommendation will be forthcoming from me anymore. I have supplied all his pictures I have and all the known address but he is yet to be found, but he still pay for his crime. This has left me perplexed.... and lesson to never trust anyone.. I will keep working on this guy. I forsee this happening over time. Our people are deceitful and play eye service a lot. My own observation with most of these artisans on NL property section is that they pay particular attention to Haji's project(most times they go beyond and above to please him) knowing fully well that, him being the moderator of property section, they need to be in his good books so as to gain his trust and recommendation. In American it is called " bait and switch " After they gained Haji Mufu's trust by providing him their best services (bait), even at a loss sometimes , they are guaranteed references from him and there goes their victims who they now show their true self (switch character) by jacking up the prices for the same quality of work they did for Haji or do inferior quality for same price etc.I'm a victim of such right now and we are still trying to resolve the issue. This is a guy people are singing his praises on this section.I'm still giving him a chance to protect his integrity or else I'll bring him to this section as well. It is so disheartening that they don't want you to owe them money, yet they don't see it as inequitable justice when they end up doing a lousy job after you would have paid them in full(sometimes over paid). This is why some of them remain inpoverished despite their toiling day and night. As long as they are dishonest and lack integrity, it will be almost impossible for those in these category to have a break through life.It is not a curse, it is just the simple truth of life and law of Kirma.Haji Mufutau, please stay away from recommending artisans on NL.I know you are a kind hearted man and you mean well, but please don't let anyone tarnish your good character. I personally, have relied many times on your recommendations, but moving forward, everyman to his own, OYO ( on your own). Let everybody do their due deligence and the artisans/contractors too will have to convince each individual one on one to get any contract. |
allCopacetic writes: "December Catalogue Updates coming" "In appreciation of your kind patronage, and in the spirit of Black Friday, we are Happy to Extend the following deals to our numerous customers: From the 21st - 25th of November, the following discounts will apply to Purchases of Lighting Fixtures and Accessories. -5% off purchases above N200,000 -10% off purchases above N500,000" Shawls writes: This is what I call "Professional Enterpreneural Advertisement" of International Standard. Good job allCopacetic. You see how much traffic your business is attracting. You have good enterpreneural skills, keep it up.You are thinking outside the box and not doing business as usual the typical Nigerian way (e-mail me). America made so much sales online this Black Friday ($billions) than they've ever done before because people were able to see and compare prices of goods openly on the internet. We are in a world of eCommerce. |
This forum has been very fantastic in helping one another with the "Good, the Bad and the Ugly" building project contractor experiences we encounter as individuals. It is a herculean task, especially for Nigerians in diaspora, trying to erect building(s) in Nigeria. Our knowledge of current building materials and labour is so poor that we end up paying higher prices, comparatively, most times.Interactions on a forum like this with honesty and openess about information has been beneficial and a saving grace to a lot of people. However, may I suggest that contractors or suppliers should stop e-mailing prices to individuals.Afterall, we all buy online where prices of products are listed for ALL to see.If there is transparency in a bussiness deal, it drives in more clients. Discounts may be given to individuals based on amount of purchase(bulk vs small). That is understandable and acceptable. Secondly, if there is a dispute with a contractor, try to resolve it amicably first,(I'm dealing with one right now), if that does not work, bring your case to the forum with evidences (pictures don't lie) and let others in the forum help you out. Just my own one cent. Thanks all. |
@NL1960 Thanks, I am convinced by the pictures and I'm already talking to gbadexy & Mr Shedrack, the painter. |
@Hajji Mufutau55 Thank you., very useful pictorial thread. |
@NL1960 Thanks for your response. I will appreciate seeing some of the pictures. |
@Hajji Mufutau55 Thanks for you quick response.I know I can always rely on your honest review and recommendation.I have used two people recommended by you & have no regrets namely Muyesky(fabricated iron doors supply & installation) and Rotech(tiles supply & installation). |
@Hajji Mufutau55 Kindly let us know your experience about the paints you purchased from Gbadexy.I'm contemplating buying from him and he used you and NL960 as reference. |
@jammy12 Your best suggested location in Ibadan will be Elebu. It is a rapidly developing modern area with great road network and properties are reasonable in price.Close proximity to Lagos-Ibadan Express way, tarred internal access roads, reasonable power supply by PHCN, middle class income neighborhood, security considerably ok. |
@jammy 12 Please , I will advise you not to engage in any UNNECESSARY exchange of words with this NOTORIOUS guy, Egunmogaji. He is definitely suffering from grandiose illusion.Check his responses on any section on NL and you will save your breath.Discard his garbage brag about his California architect brother, it is bs.The noise he is making about his poo Garage bungalow is beyond belief. You will think he is building a "White house", yet there is this other guy who has almost finished his beautiful bungalow without much ado "The Nigeria Retirement Home Mastering The Odyssee" This tells you that empty barrels make the most noise. I know he will attack me after reading this post, but I have long ceased to reply him lest I become like him. |
@ gbadexy Good job. This is exactly what I'm saying.Whoever the owner of this project is did not come to NLto make noise asking for every arm and leg of each stage of the project to be analyzed or compared to some foreign ideas that are not pragmatic in 9ja,yet you hv a decent outcome. All my projects were done with locally fabricated doors and wardrobes which many have copied after seeing them.I refused to use the "imported MDF" ones.We don't appreciate what we have. The so called "oyinbo" will use real wood that they import from us for their custom made homes, yet we foolishly pride ourselves in using their garbage. There is a notorious ignorant NL who thinks everything about his chicken coop must be Americanized. Kudos to you gbadexy and your crew for staying local and doing a good job. |
Why are you soliciting for it in Ghana when you have it 15mins away from you in yankee.Go get it at .81c & ship it for $2 each.Yeye man.You will end up taking Risperdal & Zyprexa by the time you finish this your chicken coop with this chronic OCD of yours. |
You people answering this guy have time to waste.Let him go and import his crew of "kokoye" builders from yankee, get them visas, pay them hourly wages, ship all the building materials from Home Depot or Lowes (just to build one single house in Elebu, Ibadan) and after all these hullabaloo, we can do a comparison of his "American White House" in 9ja to our own locally fabricated Aso Rock. After all, it's his house and he has a right to build it to his taste, abi? Haba! nah wetin? I have a property in that very neighborhood(Oke Alaro, after the market)?one in NNPC, Apata, another 4 bedroom twin duplex(using 9ja's term) in Akala estate Akobo. In fact I used some NL's for the job & no noise at all. What is your problem? Nah only you waka come from US? You need to stop this nonsense. |
