FAAC Allocation After subsidy = 1.9T @ 770 = 2.4 billion Dollars.

So FAAC increases both in dollar term and Naira.

Nigerians spent close to $2B last year on foreign education, the federal government subsidised half of that payment.

To put that into perspective for you, the Government spent more money on subsidising schools fees for those furthering their education in UK, Canada and USA. Than the whole total education budget for the country.

Are Nigeria army as good as the Niger in the Sahel? I mean Nigeria in particular.

One of the reason for the improved security situation in northern Nigeria is MNJTF, which the Niger republic is a strong proponent of. The Diffa region of Niger is where Sector 4 is headquartered at. And most of Bosoum loyalist are in that region.

Our security situation improves more with bosoum as the president.

Again, the use of force and the threat of use of force (Notice the distinction) are part and parcel of diplomatic negotiations.

It’s not that complicated.

I blame the situation in Libya due to intervention of the west to remove gaddafi, the west interest here was Gaddafi death, but that was not Nigeria interest, but Nigeria adopted a passive approach along with AU and watched how an external force pursue its own interest in detriment to Nigeria.

I support Nigeria interest of intervening in Niger to restore bassoum back to power just as I supported Nigeria stance to support the military regime of Derby son in Chad because of stability , because I can assure you that the external force interest in Niger is not stability.

And we cannot afford to be passive again as was the case in Libya and let other external forces interest prevail over our own.

Those two countries belong to the francophone part of west Africa, I can assure you that their policy plan is being dictated in Paris.

An additional point to consider is that the USA, in all their official statements, has refrained from categorizing the events in Niger as a coup. This is due to the legal implications in the USA, where acknowledging the situation as a coup would trigger the cessation of government support and the termination of defense agreements.

So France and USA are actually not pursuing the same interest in Niger.

2003: LIBERIA

While the first civil war brought Charles Taylor to power, the second civil war between 1999 and 2003 led to his exit.
This time, Nigeria and ECOWAS deployed troops under ECOWAS Mission in Liberia (ECOMIL) with some 3,500 soldiers, with the most coming from Nigeria. They served as an interposition force, keeping the warring parties apart and facilitating the arrival of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL).


2013: MALI

Till today, Libya has been unstable and no central government.

My summation is simple, countries will intervene to pursue their on interest, and that interest might not be favourable to you. So it is in your own interest to make sure that matters that directly concern you, you are either at the forefront or at the table.

The Niger Coup will never be allowed to stand both by France and it allies in Africa, if you followed west African politics you will know why.

Nigeria taking front charge means we are at the for front of the happenings in the country, they are our direct neighbours, we can’t be passive during this time around.

It’s same logic that followed when idris derby of Chad died and Nigeria had to rally around AU to support his son.

Releasing communique and threatening sanction will not force the junta to step down, that’s delusional.

They have to be aware that the threat of force is on the table.
