I support you on this. We dont have resources to prosecute this war, We can use sanctions for now

Unless US and the West have promised ECOWAS full support both financial, logistics and personnel to fund the war. Let the US and West put money in ECOWAS account, provide ammunition and materials then provide us personell

Maybe to help them keep Russia at bay dem fit forgive member nations who fought the war their debts and finance our budgets
Lol, the president already wrote the world and eco was that he was taken hostage and his life and that of his family is in danger.

There’s a reason the situation was labeled an hostage situation in the ecowas communique.

The junta have themselves to blame by not killing the president immediately.

President Tinubu's envoy, Babagana Kingibe meets Algeria's President who was represented by Minister Ahmed Ataf, conveys Tinubu's message to him.

Minister Ahmed assured Kingibe of Algeria's support against the military junta in Niger Republic.

Note: Algeria shares border with Niger.
The Algerians are in support of the intervention from ecowas.

They know the important of having a secure southern neighbour.

There’s a massive disinformation campaign going on right now.

Russian troll farms are working on overdrive in west Africa.

Chad just declared a state of emergency through out the country, and sierra leone just announced the array of some senior military officers working to destabilised the government. Things are starting to get interesting.

In all of this the greatest beneficiaries might just be the jihadist.

The first protest that emerged after the coup was against the military, but they were shot at and rounded up.

So u support ECOWAS going heads-on with Russia-backed coupists ? It will only end in disaster for all concerned except RUSSIA and the US who will be financing the proxy war.

We have a lot to lose if violence erupts in Niger because ECOWAS wants to stamp its feet on a sovereign nation’s internal issues.
Lol, they are not Russian backed anything.

This is an ethnic coup, the president was from a minority tribe, they tried something similar in the beginning of the administration.

Wagner group is just being an opportunist, and the Coupist are trying to whip up anti west sentiment. Hence sponsoring protest and distributing Russian flags.

The Niger Military in the diffa region, the region the president comes from are not in support of the coup.

2) they are also a buffer between us and Sudan and our intervention can also lead to civil war in Niger.

The border between us and them is porous as Bleep and we are already spread thin. THIS FOR ME IS THE BIGGEST ISSUE.

3) we don't know the number of international interests in Niger.

Point is which ever way we choose to act, it's still going to present issues.
Which is why I said it's another angle. Whether it makes sense or not is still a possible reality sadly.
And who told you Niger people support this coup?

Stop falling for cheap propaganda, there was an anti-coup protest this morning by bozoum people.

It’s foolhardy to think that the Majority of Niger support a foolhardy coup, when the first reaction to the coup was an Anti coup protest in the capital hours to the coup announcement.

But the coupist have activated their propaganda, distributing Russia flag to their tribe member.

There’s a reason they just announced a ban of social media , you think if they are enjoying people support they will ban social media.

Jez look at the below map and tell me Nigeria shouldn't consider any measure to restore Democracy in Niger.

I really don't understand why some folks think its none of our business. Niger's budget is built on grants, and the Donors are beginning to take action.

What next? Hunger sets in and refugees start moving to Northern Nigeria in drove. Is that what we really want?

Asari Dokubo Militants can handle Niger Military.
People are shortsighted.

If they know how much the Libya situation is responsible for the mess in northern Nigeria, they won’t advised us to fold our hands and look.

Already the President ethnic group and the Tuareg are already beginning to make moves, as this coup was done by the southern ethnic group military loyal to Tchiani.

Bazoum people are already calling for demonstration, a shape of what could potentially be civil war is taking form.

People don’t understand that it’s an existential crises right now.

A new player is in the block already, Wagner a private military group.

If that coup in Niger is allowed to stand, expect more coups in west Africa in the next two years.

Then the region is done for, we are regressing back to the 1970’s.

Lol.

The issue of party membership is an internal affair of the party. Neither the constitution nor the EA decides who is a member of a political party.

That aside, the part where the EA requests for a list of party membership does not rule out acceptance of new members. The most important thing is that whoever emerges must emerge through a primary and the names submitted to INEC.

The case of the Delta LP candidate that was sacked was a case of him not resigning his public office before contesting. Personally I am against such rascality if it is proven.

As for Peter Obi that is giving you guys headache, the federal high court has already determined that case.
The statement you quoted did you see me mention Peter obi?

I don’t really like venturing into argument where I have limited knowledge, that’s why I ask to see the Court judgement.

BAT was supposed to be more progressive and with-the-times than PMB. So far, he is flattering to deceive. The list does not inspire as much as I hoped and by not including the portfolio, regardless of the constitution, he is coming off as no different.

Nevertheless, the essence of the screening is for discovery. If someone had forged certificates etc. It should be brought to light during the screening so that such a person is never confirmed.
Those types of screening that will expose forgers and the like would have been done by the DSS and EFCC, I think they have been some cases in the past where some nominee didn’t pass the security clearance, I’m not sure.

What I would like to see on the senate floor is scrutinising the nominee to test their knowledge of the ministry they are going to head.

Dr Joe Abah was explaining yesterday that only the minister of justice and AGF must be a lawyer (Section 152 of the constitution), every other minister can be appointed to any ministry irrespective of their background.

All the Senate will do is screen them based on their competency to be a federal minister (How they do that, I dont know).

The constitution should be amended again though to mandate the President to send portfolio with the names of his nominees.
That is true, he’s not constitutionally mandated to appoint minister based on the qualifications or pedigree except the AG/Minister of justice.

But the Calibre of people he will appoint to certain ministries will tell us the directions of his administration.

There has been no major reaction from the market since the list was out, investors are probably waiting on who will held what.

Does the list inspires you or speaks volumes of great technocrat you were expectinghuh??

As for my view...i don't have any iota of hope, not because of pessimism but due to the realities of things brought about by his policies as well as his body language towards the suffering of the masses.....
To be honest with you, I’ve never heard of and I don’t even know atleats 70% of the name on that list.

So I can’t really pass judgment on what I’ve not scrutinised. That’s why I’m waiting for the portfolios, so I will be able to better research those names.

He should have attached their portfolios though, because I don’t understand how the senate will screen people without knowing the job they will be performing.

I've noticed a recurring issue where certain individuals tend to see everything from a polarized viewpoint, associating bad news in the country exclusively with figures like Tinubu or supporters of APC.

This mindset seems to motivate some people to actively seek out negative news about those who didn't vote for their preferred candidate, with the intention of mocking them.

It’s dumb, and makes you look like a degenerate that lacks good thing in life, can’t comprehend, unable to even engage in constructive criticism. Some of you do have shallow brains though so I’m not surprised.

Keep looking for bad news and saying it will favour you and your family, who knows it just might.
