kpotu: Yes! Kemi Adetiba did a marvelous work. Did y'all see how crispy and clean the pictures were? The sound? How about the cuisines, members of the cast, the aso-ebis, artwork? Trust me, it must have cost a fortune to put out such a superb production.
Having watched the movie over and over again (yeah, entertaining movies can have that effect), couldn't help but notice these reoccurring thoughts, and i wanna share 'em with you
1. Richard Mofe Damijo (Father of the Groom) is a wrong cast You CAN'T take it away from him, RMD still remains one of our finest actors. His understanding and interpretation of roles as an actor is pure ingenious. However the character of Chief Felix Onwuka (Father of the Groom) in The Wedding Party has Zack Orji written all over it. Zack naturally has that wealthy-but-brooding demeanor that perfectly matches a rich man undergoing torrid times at the hands of his cold and cynical wife; the character that Chief Felix Onwuka is trying to cut. RMD is too happy face for that role. Also throw in the little matter of Zack being an Igbo man, you have a round peg in a round hole.
2. Banky Wellington (Banky W) can't dance to save his life I mean this guy is an artiste, but he can't dance to save his life! Whatsup with that one move of swinging his shoulders with his head (oops my bad), I mean his face facing up. Nah! Can he sing; yes. Can he act;yes. Can he rap;yes yes. Can he dance; I rather pick 2face.
3. Is Adesua Etomi (Dunni, the Bride) a virgin? Adesua interpretation of the character Dunn,i was so flawless that I came to the conclusion maybe, just maybe she is a virgin. Did you just see her. From her awkward self consciousness while kissing Dozie, to her naivety (which by the way look so adorable) to her facial and body language. Kai she nailed it.
All in all, it is a great effort. Alibaba brings his witty and dynamic persona to it. Zainab Balogun kept us laughing all through, and Beverly was just a delight to watch, and i mean every letter of it. The Wedding Party, if you haven't seen it. Go see it. It worth it. watched it yesterday, When my friend told me, I thought its one American movie, after knowing its a Nigerian movie and with the way my friend was telling me how intriguing it is, I settled to watch it, to my greatest surprise, its just a waste of time, till now I fail to know the purpose of the movie? I don't just get it.They just wasted money doing the movie, aside it's great picture quality, nothing is in it.The worst thing is the fact that they tried showing us Igbo people are good in English, while the Ekiti people are poor in English, forgetting that Ekiti state has one of the most educated people, many professors are from the state plus Amala is never their food in Ekiti, homes hardly eat Amala on a normal day,not to talk of for their parties, plus Gbegiri is not one of their soups in Ekiti, its for the Oyo's. Pounded yam is their food in both Ondo and Ekiti state plus Egunsi soup. So please where is the sense in the movie? |

TemiD001: Hello, I am depressed and really scared of feeling this way!
My name is Temidayo. I graduated in 2013 from one of the popular state universities in the S/W. For 4 years now, my search for a job has been to no avail. I got a job immediately after service and was paid 30k monthly! The problem here is that I spend more than that 30k on transport. Had to stop when I was incurring more debt.
To cut the long story short, I need help! I don't want anyone's money...all I ask for is 5 persons to buy me 5 sewing and design machines to start up my own clothing company here in Ibadan. I can get myself a space to setup and the basic things I'll be needing subsequently.
I have a comprehensive business proposal that I am willing to share with anyone who is willing to assist in getting this machines. I would also be willing to meet and discuss about how I intend making the business a success and how to repay the money used I. Procuring the equipments! I do not mind a background check or whatsoever investigations to show this is a legit cry for help! I'll be happy to report at any police station to sign an undertaking too! My degree and NYSC certificate would also be dropped as a form of security.
Please help me! I do not need anyone's money! I have a free space close to the university of Ibadan and the help I need is 5 persons who would assist in procuring 5 sewing and design machines.
Thank you. let us partner |

AmALeo: Everyone's expectations are different, I can only imagine how he feels. If you can stay awake for exams, then you should when a partner needs you to..... Keep it at the back of your mind that it's important to him that's why he's complaining and also every relationship is all about making sacrifices... You need to prioritise him above your sleep if you really want to maintain the relationship.. . Many more will come along the way Ahh, you wann to kill me? Is it me that is taking myself to sleep? The sleep just come in, even during my exams in night class, after reading a page, I will doze off, wake up back to continue till I cover up what I need to cover |

SNOWCREAM: you don't know each other yet how's the distance like? we know each other, distance is quite much, but am an early sleeper doesn't mean if I have an exam, I won't be awake at that point or something important to do,but with him,I just feel so relaxed that I sleep off every time |

SNOWCREAM: Haha, sleeping off like that don't make you bad at all, as i earlier said you might just need to discipline yourself. The calls take place around what time to what time? Are you an early sleeper? yes,am an early sleeper, between 9-10 |
Family › Re: Why Do Things Change After Marriage? by sheeda995(f): 10:07am On Mar 27, 2017 |
SNOWCREAM: That doesn't make you bad, but you need to discipline yourself yet. If i may ask? Do you sleep off while the conversation is going on or you hangup, silent your phone then sleep off? If you sleep off while the conversation is going haba, lol which kind tired be that? If you notice you're about to sleep why not tell him, so you guys can say goodnight properly.
I hope your conversations aren't so boring cos boredom + stress equals to straight sleep I sleep off while on conversion without saying goodbye, sometimes he ask me minutes before, and I will tell him am not in any mood to sleep, I will just sleep off without knowing. Yes I do tell him, maybe the reason I sleep off is that our discussions are always boring |

Daboomb: Making me do everything a "Boy" should never do when growing Up:
*Cooking, even on special days! *Plaiting her hair (and my wife was very surprised when l offered to plait her hair! ) *telling her stories from books l read (Who is the adult here?) *Backing my junior ones (Do l look like a house-girl? ) *Washing plates and 'big" clothes (No washing machine in those days!) *Siding with my Dad against me, on everything (Those two, ehn....) *Making me return money l found on the floor, to wherever l found it (only for someone else to take it!) *Insisting l must carry first all the time (na only me dey the class or what?) *Not allowing me follow my passion of being a footballer (my play mates eventually made it to the national team and she regretted that sha) *Making me do Sciences`, when l would have loved to do Art subjects (You must be Doctor, by force by fire!) *Forcing me to pray at 6am in the morning, which is when l enjoy my sleep most! *Pulling my Ears over minor issues; they get very hot and hurt so much
But what hate most about my Mum is creeping into my room at 3am in the midnight, with a cane in hand and tapping me awake to get flogged! That is very harsh Mum..... l dont do it to my kids and they are still turning out great. (Is it only my Mum that does this 'cos l've not seen anyone report the same thing)
But hey, she was a great Mum and l still `love her to bits. The "values" she implanted in me back then, kept me going when the going was tough! Even if you put all the problems of Nigeria on my small head, even if l am penny-less, even if everything goes down, l will always remember Mum saying: You've got to be strong because only the strong can survive! No dulling, No jumping into the Lagoon........ naah, No way! you got a very funny mum |

SNOWCREAM: Not at all ma, only when it's consistent does it become an habit, like he claims to be tired Everytime, even if he's always tired sincerely, a considerate guy won't be selfish, he'll help you sometimes. I do sleep off while chatting with my guy,he doesn't like it,because that's our only chance of talking better,as either am busy or he is during the day,but from 8upwards we try to chat.I sleep off almost every time we do, even on calls, does that make me a bad person? |

SNOWCREAM: That's a very hard task but surely not impossible. No matter how one tries to hide some bad habits, you'll still see traits or traces of it. For instance if during courtship, you guys have a brawl, and he says something like "I can slap you if you say that again" or "I'll SLAP you o", that's a sign he'll slap you if things get worse when you're married.
Some guys or girls are good pretenders, they'll show little or no sign, but all in all, one should watch and pray hard against making someone like that as a choice. Thanks sir,but what of acts done as a result of the situation, for instance one feels weak and thus become lazy, can one call that ones habit? |
Family › Re: Why Do Things Change After Marriage? by sheeda995(f): 7:59pm On Mar 26, 2017 |
SNOWCREAM: Courtship is filled with lots of conceit, deceit and pretense. Some people are bad, very bad but they wanna get engaged and married. They know no one will settle for them with their bad attitude so guess what? They decide to pretend to be a better person, just to be able to attract and fool that partner.
After marriage there's no reason to keep on playing the expensive hide and seek again, they unleash. Ladies and gentlemen be watchful cos you'll surely see signs while courting, don't dismiss it as a mistake. Bless Really, how do one know if one is bad? |
