Car TalkRe: Nigeria Begins Implementation Of 35% Levy On Imported New Vehicles by sheffyUTD(m): 9:28pm On Sep 18, 2014
sonnie10: but the CKDs' would require more technical coupling, which at the end of the day would not be cost effective.
Yeah.

It's designed for assembling plants with those stuff in place, not individual dealers. Plants with no such things will have to upgrade and train their employees, that is where the manpower and technology development aspect come in.
Car TalkRe: Nigeria Begins Implementation Of 35% Levy On Imported New Vehicles by sheffyUTD(m): 8:59pm On Sep 18, 2014
sonnie10: On the customs website, there is provision for importation of semi Completely Knocked Down (CKD) vehicles. The total duty/levy on semi-CKD is about 20%. I would assume that any smart importer would bring the vehicle in as semi- CKD. All it would take is to employ people who would put the parts together; considering that labor is cheap in Nigeria, this definitely would be more cost effective.

In a layman term, importing semi-CKD means you ship only body, and the mechanical/electrical components are packed and shipped separately.
Quip.

There are two categories: Completely Knocked Down (CKD) and Semi Knock Down (SKD)
BusinessRe: Am In Need Of Reputable Logistic Firms in Nigeria (all 36 States Are Invited) by sheffyUTD(m): 6:06pm On Sep 18, 2014
BigBossMan: Take it easy! You don't have to be hysterical. I perfectly understand what he is talking about.

I might not have a logistics company. But when it comes to logistics, I am 2000% ahead of most logistics company. For your info, I have been in Business of distributing goods nationwide for 5 years! Nor be beans!

What I am proposing is to cover Benin city and be an intermediary to other major towns.
What I have to offer might not be what he is looking for.
But at least I am sincere enough to let him know my position unlike some that will promise heaven and earth but won't deliver.
Let's assume the poster is in lagos and wants to deliver items to Auchi' ughelli, yenagoa, agbor, abraka, etc. Most of these don't have a direct bus route from Lagos!

Next time show some respect!
NB: BossMan is a Husband, Father and a responsible Nigerian.
Peace.
This dude got me laughing. 200% ahead because you have five years experience huh Jeez ! What then would your boss @ the coy you worked for say?

ToyeenP: Grimaldi
Good.

This is HIAB. It not categorised as ordinary truck. Normally, trucks get 350k for surface duty while surface for this is 1,050m.

So, if we want to tame all ends and carry it as ordinary truck, 720k wil get it out. Otherwise budget 1.5m. That is the truth of the business. Open and direct.

Please call me to talk better on this.

Thanks

BusinessRe: Will Large Firms/organisations Consider Proposals From Business Name Companies? by sheffyUTD(m): 10:00am On Sep 18, 2014
chux76: Still waiting for humble and honest responses....

Tnx
If you can get a source from inside, that will help. Company criteria for receiving proposal from outsider differ.

A close pal of mine submitted an export strategy to boost a coy revenue and they were chasing him all around. He's no business name.

As for protecting your idea, you should know that idea theft is a global issue. So, get the service of a lawyer (a trusted one and explain what you are about to do, you will be guided. No money is involved untill bubble start burstling from the other side)
Car TalkRe: Nigeria Begins Implementation Of 35% Levy On Imported New Vehicles by sheffyUTD(m): 9:35am On Sep 18, 2014
DaBullIT: I gree for you , If this info i heard from an insider turns out to be true about customs taking 35 percent on used cars too , then lesser people will ship through lagos , instead they'll ship to seme, cotonou and then that'll kill imports and activities in Lagos's shipyard or is it dock ...
Well it's true, 35% duty now and 35 % levy by Jan. All I see is a reduction in the rate of importation of used vehicles, but they'll still come in.
Mexicans dig tunnels from Mexico to US just for Drugs, i believe these big men will find a route in one of them thick forests, clear the place with tractors and make the road ready for asphalt , and they'll mount security / spies there just for thier bentlies and Lambo and Phantoms to get through , it'll be a full scale war soon .. but that just my over active over paranoid mind working as usual , please tell me if you think in a million years this scenario can occur
You burst my butt . . . got me seriously laughing. No, it will not go near that. But I see large scale compromise as it always be.
BusinessRe: Requirements For Opening A Corporate Bank Account In Nigeria by sheffyUTD(m): 9:08am On Sep 18, 2014
MyIncorp: The Articles of Association are the rules about running the company that the shareholders and the directors (and company secretary) have to abide by. There are no standard mimimum number of pages that an article of association can be, but recently the CAC refused a lengthy copy we submitted to them on behalf of a client. They often accept a 5 to 6 pages MEMART. Well, this happened at the CAC, Abuja office; perhaps, the situation is different in other zones.
You did not respond to my other questions

Car TalkRe: Nigeria Begins Implementation Of 35% Levy On Imported New Vehicles by sheffyUTD(m): 8:34am On Sep 18, 2014
DaBullIT: Bros you funny gaan O , how many Nigerians dey buy Tear nylon , na tokunbo gaan gaan them make the law for , if you buy ride for cotonou , wan do legit customs , you go pay that 35percent . I confirm am from person wey dey Customs
You're right but there will still be some differences in clearing cost, if they don't block though.

In as much this affects my business somehow, one should still think straight. The policy is good but I am very sorry, Nigerians will not see the benefit. With neighbouring car biz like cotonou on the prowl and our borders are as porous as a sieve, it's a mere mirrage. Smugglers always have their way with those guys at seme border.

Yes. The old rate of 35% is sustained. But latest vehicles (2013 & 2014) are to get the new value (35 % Duty & 35 % levy).

BusinessRe: Using Whatsapp Or BBM Good For Business? by sheffyUTD(m): 5:12pm On Sep 17, 2014
The funny part of your post is 'I think it's for students'. But you use BB and you're not a student am sure.

Using for biz, no big deal, just use it professionally. It's an instant messaging option that connect one fast with client.

Very efficient I must say. A cool and coded way to transact.
