The 71-year-old manager gave an emotional talk on the Old Trafford pitch after his last game in charge of Manchester United at Old Trafford, which ended in a 2-1 win over Swansea

Sir Alex Ferguson said an emotional goodbye to Old Trafford after Manchester United's 2-1 win against Swansea on Sunday, thanking the fans for their support and imploring them to get behind successor David Moyes.

The record-breaking manager also said he will now be able to enjoy United games rather than "suffer with them", thanking fans, players and staff for their help.

With Paul Scholes also retiring from the club for a second time, Sir Alex praised t
he midfielder as one of the best players the club has ever had, and wished Darren Fletcher a speedy return to first-team football.

"I have absolutely no script in my mind. I'm just going to ramble on and hope I get to the core of what this football club means," Sir Alex said.

"This is a thank you to Manchester United. Not just the directors, not just the medical staff, the coaching staff, the players and supporters. It's all of you. This has been the most fantastic experience of my life. Thank you.

"I have been very fortunate that I've been able to manage to some of the greatest players in the country, let alone Manchester United. And all these players today have represented this club the proper way. They won the championship in fantastic fashion. Well done to the players.

"My retirement does mean the end of my life with the club. I'll now be able to enjoy watching them, rather than suffer with them. But, if you think about it, those last-minute goals, the comebacks, even the defeats are all part of this great football club of ours ... so thank you for that.

"I'd also like to remind you that when we had bad times at the club, all the staff stood by me, all the players stood by me. Your [the supporters] job now is to stand by your new manager.

"Before I start blubbing, I just want to speak to Paul Scholes, who retires today. He is unbelievable. One of the greatest players we've ever had and ever will ever.

"I also want to wish Darren Fletcher a speedy recovery and return to the club.

"I wish the players every success in the future You know how good you are, you know the jersey you're wearing and you know what it means to everyone here [at Old Trafford]. Don't ever let yourselves down. The expectation is always there."

Sir Alex Ferguson broke down in tears during an emotional goodbye to Manchester United staff this morning following the announcement of his decision to retire.

The Scot will step down as United manager at the end of the season following 26 years at Old Trafford during which he won 38 trophies, including 13 Premier League titles.

Ferguson arrived at the club’s Carrington training base at 6.50am this morning and made a series of phonecalls amid intense speculation that he was set to quit.

Once the entire first-team squad had arrived for training, Ferguson held an eight-minute meeting with the players and senior staff during which he informed them of his decision.

Sources say the players were "quiet and shocked" as they left the meeting, with some clearly emotional. Ferguson was the last man out of the room and was seen supportively patting assistant manager Mike Phelan on the back.

At 9.20am, around the same time that United made an official announcement on their website, Ferguson went to the main dining hall at Carrington to address the entire staff, from the tea ladies to the coaches.

The atmosphere was described as "pensive" and "sombre". By then, everyone knew what was going on.

Goal understands that, during a speech that lasted between eight and 10 minutes, Ferguson choked up and became tearful as he thanked them for their efforts over the years and spoke of the wonderful support within the "United family".

Ferguson became particularly emotional as he revealed that some people present - particularly technical staff - may lose their jobs as a consequence of his retirement.

After he finished talking, Ferguson received a standing ovation as he shuffled out of the room, still clearly emotional as he brings an end to an extraordinary career at United since he took over from Ron Atkinson in November 1986.

He was scheduled to hold a one-on-one sit-down interview with the club’s in-house television station, MUTV, at 10.30am and it was unclear whether he still intends to join the United players at Chester races later today.

for NYSC batch B come June 25th that the
regularization money N5800 paid by each student
have not been processed for the
generation of
JAMB UTME number, that will be used for
the
mobilization of newly corpers. The information I
am giving you was gotten directly from the
admission officer who is meant to go and
get the
UTME number. Remember the deadline for
the submission of mobilized student by each
institution to NYSC is Monday May 13 2013.
I
endeavour everyone to go and include their
various JAMB(UTME) registration number in
the mobilization for in room 210 in the Senate
Building Lautech before May 13. If you
know you
can't remember your JAMB number, there is
an
opportunity for you on JAMB website to retrieve
your JAMB(UTME) number according to the
year
you wrote it, all you need is a JAMB(UTME)
scratch
card visit the website and follow the instruction.
Please inform others to avoid not going for
NYSC
