This is the disgusting thing we hear any time people are corrected. You guys keep saying english is not my language... But do you know that back in the days of colonial rule white missionaries were able to learn the languages of locals perfectly and even translate bible for them. I remember a friend from jos who told me about the berom bible that was translated by a white man who was so proficient in the language. Thus, saying that english is not your language is the reason we are justify to speak or write incorrect english is more than just a flimzy excuse. No baby on earth was born speaking any language fluently. We all learned whatever language we are fluent in today. Even your so called mother tongue was learned and not inborn. Or Did you start speaking Igbo the day you were born just because it is your language?
If you say we should promote our local dialect, i will agree with you. But saying we can write wrong english because it is not our language is a sign of ignorance...

It is only in Nigeria that the central part of a country is called Northcentral. Instead of appropriately designate this central regions as Middlebelt, they use a geographically incorrect terminology to designate this regions as Northcentral. The term ''Northcentral" does not exist in the english dictionary. It is linguistically and geographically incorrect terminology. That is why if you Google this term now, you will not find it used anywhere in the world to refer to a region except Nigeria.The hausa/fulani who invented this word and discourage the use of the appropriate "Middlebelt" did it on purpose, and the purpose has been serving them correctly. The attachment of the word "North" to the "Central" gives the illusion that this different regions of the country are together politically and historically. But this is not true. This juxtaposition of words has not only work for them but also given them political advantage over other Geopolitical zones. That is why it is always going to be confusing when yo tell a geographer that within the confines of the present day Nigeria, benue, kogi, kwara, Abuja etc. are Northern Nigeria. Why don't we have southcentral, or westcentral?

It is more common because the influx of hausa people into Abuja has pave more way for their domination. Take for example, so many towns and villages in abuja that were originally called with Gbagyi names have been cruely change to hausa names with massive migration of hausa people into this territory. For instance, Peyi (in gbagyi language) was changed to Garki, Dushe(in gbagyi language) was changed to Dutse, Allugu(in gbagyi language )was change to lungu and so many more.This are some of the facts that many other tribes don't know. The Gbagyis have been overwhelmed by this domination and have become helpless. Mind you, there is no way any other tribe can allow all this in their place. Another fact is that since the establishment of fct no indigene in abuja has ever been the Fct minister except people from the north. The simple nature of a typical Gbagyi man has made him vulnerable to domination and ethnic assimilation. But even more worse is that this minority niger-congo tribe in Nigeria don't have a voice.

The problem with Nigeria is that they equate being light to being beautiful. This is the product of being obssesed by western culture.

I have seen many ibos bleaching their skin in the name of "they are always light". There are some many dark ibos even darker than me, just as any other tribe. No tribe can claim being the lightest in Nigeria. It is just myth.

I think both igbos and hausas are fond of using deragatory names to refer to each other. I have experience both side trying to demean another tribe. This is exactly how hausas have offensively impose the word "Gwari" on the Gbagyis in Nigeria. The word Gwari is an insult invented by hausa people to debase a Gbagyi person. Unfortunately, other tribes too a have adopted this annoying word to refer to the most tolerant tribe in Nigeria(Gbagyi). Our over tolerant has been taken for weakness. So i think every tribe have its own dose of the medecine....
