I’ve had more than 5 experiences with Nigeria police. On no occasion have I ever been brutalized. Though all the reasons are flimsy. We all know that’s how the police do majority of the time.

SARS are doing and have done good jobs in apprehending criminals. Evans, the port Harcourt serial killer, offa robbery gang, several notorious kidnappers. I don’t work in the police so there’s no way I can name 100. All I know is SARS is doing a great job and I am not afraid of them. There are bad eggs, yes. But give them the credit they deserve. Most of the people screaming endsars have never had an encounter with them. You average police extorts. It’s a police thing, not just SARS.

SARS won’t be banned. I do not support outright ban of SARS. We need a total reform of the NPF. Not only SARS extort, the entire police is guilty of this offense. Our daily policemen extort motorists, pedestrians, civilians unjustly. Even if SARS is banned (which I do not see happening), will we call for a ban of the entire police force too if the extortion and brutality still continues?

Keep at the back of your mind that police is your friend. Armed robbers are not friendly at all, I’ve had an experience with SARS before and I talked with them calmly and politely, I walked away complete and safe, we even ended it with laughter. I do not support their extortion and profiling one bit, but these guys have done some serious good jobs in tracking and arresting hardcore criminals. We shouldn’t throw away the baby with the bath water. We need SARS and the police to maintain some level of safety and decorum in the country.

Few days back they kidnap my friend cousin and they are requesting for 5O million as ransom. The guy is just 21 from a not well to do family.

Bro, just keep praying and get a good negotiator (that speaks their language) to communicate with them. Most importantly pray. My cousin was kidnapped this year and it was by God’s grace that he was released willingly even after they’ve agreed to collect ransom. Just pray well for his safety. No hope on police or force, they will do nothing.
