Why I’ve spent 21 years in the university—Students' Union leader Tony Fash Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font Ibikunle Isaac, Lagos 09/10/2010 12:51:00 image Tony Fash FORMER Students’ Union president of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Anthony Fashayo a.k.a Tony Fash, who was expelled in 1996 due to his uncompromising radicalism as a student leader, will be rounding off his medical programme at the university after 21 years this academic session. In this interview with IBIKUNLE ISAAC, he recalls the events that led to his expulsion from school, his eventual reinstatement and life in detention under military rule. Excerpts: Tell us a bit about yourself? I’m Anthony Fashayo popularly called Tony Fash. I’m a final-year medical student of OAU. I’m the former president of the Students’ Union, 1995/96. I’m the fourth of seven children born into a monogamous family. I had my primary and secondary education in Akure, Ondo State, precisely, Aquinas College and Oyemekun Grammar School and later, I got admission into OAU for Medicine in 1989; and because of my political involvement, I’m still in the school till now. I’m a Christian of Catholic denomination. Can you recall your activities as student leader? We did a lot of things to arouse the consciousness of the students. Then, we were using a formula - EDO. ‘E’ means educator, ‘D’ for discussion and ‘O’ for organisational networking. That time, we were fighting against the military government of Abacha and OAU then served as the coordinating centre where all activists met to strategise. Within OAU, I led a lot of struggles. I championed the cause of finding a lasting solution to the problem of medical students trekking to campus from their quarters every day. We were able to standardise allotment of accommodation because the hall management officials engaged in accommodation racketeering. Then, accommodation was based on favouritism and connections but we stopped it and we ensured that allocation of accommodation was based on merit. We frustrated all the bureaucratic procedures of the hall wardens. We also fought against mass failure in the Pharmacy Department where 369 students out of 461 failed. Then, some of us felt that there must be something wrong with the system of teaching and if nothing was wrong with the system of teaching, then the system of teaching must be wrong with something. We protested it in a ‘scientifically’ mature manner. The result was withdrawn and those students that were advised to withdraw were called back to repeat, while those that were formerly asked to repeat were promoted. As a matter of fact, we were involved in many national and international struggles. Could you mention, few of the protests you led against the military government? There was one over which we brought the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) to our campus after Ken Saro-Wiwa was hanged on November 10, 1995, which warranted the Commonwealth and former President of South Africa Dr. Nelson Mandela’s outcry. At OAU level, we thought that something was wrong with the Abacha regime because the things that the man (Ken Saro-Wiwa) was agitating for were genuine. So, we brought Gani to campus and the protest was televised live on CNN. Students from other institutions and people across the country came for the protest. It was that day that Gani declared total war against Abacha and placed traditional curses on him. Consequently, I was expelled from the university the following day; and I was later arrested and detained incommunicado at the Benin Maximum Prison, Oko, Edo State for eight months under Decree two. You were alleged to have molested some traditional rulers at a convocation ceremony. How true is this? This is why I do say common sense is not common. There was a lot of propaganda launched against me by a former V-C of OAU. When I came out of prison, I heard a lot of rumour so I went to the media to set the record straight. While addressing a press conference at Oshogbo, that V-C was asked by journalists about the situation on campus and he allegedly said there was no problem except that some miscreants had been expelled by the school authorities. And there was a spontaneous reaction by the students over the reference to their leaders as miscreants by the then V-C and they swore to deal with him. I had to appeal to the students to comport themselves in a peaceful manner the following day. The V-C just used the convocation to set us up because we had not even reached the venue of the convocation when the V-C ran away from the auditorium and the security agents created a scene which brought pandemonium. For Christ’s sake, the struggles we were championing on campus then were based on issues of principles and not on anything personal. The V-C just personalized the issue and used a lot of propaganda against me. Yemi Iwilade and some other students are always celebrated by the OAU students every July 10 as their fallen martyrs. You and Iwilade were said to have taken part in a massive protest that later became bloody at Yaba, Lagos during the Abacha era. What really transpired before, during and after the protest? That time I had been expelled from the university alongside 23 others but the number was later reduced to13. the then V-C had vowed never to reinstate us. But we were employing a lot of tactics to get us reinstated. However, Lanre, who was popularly called Legacy was the President of the Students’ Union then. As a progressive-minded person, he understood the NANS Charter of Demand that education is not a privilege but a right. Legacy and his other lieutenants then decided to have a protest in Lagos and I was contacted to help mobilise students. And I joined them at Yaba, Lagos just to give my voice as a Nigerian. Hardly had the rally started when riot policemen stormed the venue and started shooting indiscriminately to scare protesters away. The late Yemi Iwilade, Legacy, I and some other students were arrested and taken to Panti in Lagos. It was there they alleged that I was the one who instigated the protest. I was not released when other students were released but I was released later after the intervention of Gani Fawehinmi, Femi Falana and Dupe Onitiri among others. How were you eventually reinstated? When I left the prison, I started strategising on how to get back to school to complete my medical programme since I was just in my final year when I was expelled. The other students and I went to the extent of meeting the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s wife, Ooni of Ife and other notable people in the country. One of the conditions given us was that we should withdraw the case from court but then, the late Fawehinmi had taken our case before the Court of Appeal. We were asked by the school authorities to tender a letter of apology and show remorse. So, when we weighed the political situation then, we decided to withdraw the case from court. With the students’ support and their agitation that their leaders should be reinstated, coupled with the killing of Iwilade and others in 1999 and the confession of some of the cultists like Wale Idahosa that the V-C was their sponsor, he was removed and I was later reinstated. It is very pertinent to state at this point that during my own tenure, I arrested Idahosa alongside others and they were subsequently handed over to the police but unfortunately, they were released not long after we apprehended them. When exactly were you reinstated? I was reinstated in 2002 by Prof. Roger Makanjuola, the new Vice-Chancellor. When I was reinstated, I had to go back to 400 Level because Medicine is divided into two - pre-clinic, which involves parts 1 to 3 and the clinic which involves parts 4, 5 and 6. So, I had to start again from the first stage of the clinic. Between when you were released from prison and when you were reinstated, did you do any work to keep body and soul together? Actually, I have a flair for writing. I wrote for some newspapers. I was also fortunate to have an understanding family. Also, people like Gani Fawehinmi, Prof. Roger Makanjuola played fatherly roles to me. I also worked as MC at programmes because of my oratory prowess. During your activism, it’s possible that you had a fiancée. What was her disposition towards your activism? Yes! I had a fiancée. She was a very understanding lady. She used to encourage me with Joshua 24:15 which says, ‘As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.’ That meant that she would stand with me always and in our regime we would not compromise but fight against anything that would preserve the status quo. On our part, we believed that Abacha was a leper and there is no way you move with a leper that you won’t contact leprosy. Didn’t her parents prevail on her to back out of the relationship? She is a faithful lady and during my imprisonment, she told me that some people - not her parents- were advising her to jilt me. She, however, declined because she herself was convinced about my struggle. Meanwhile, the argument of these detractors was based on the fact that Tony Fash was a medical student and why was he so much involved in politics? But I need to correct this notion; politics in its general definition is just a way of managing money, men and general affairs. So there’s nothing so special about politics that we will say it is only peculiar to people studying political science, law or other related courses. If you are saying medical practitioners are intellectuals who should only concern themselves with saving lives, then you are giving room for mediocres to take over the affairs of the nation What was the most tormenting experience you had during your incarceration? There wasn’t something more dreadful than the fact that I was put in a dungeon. Most of the prison wardens belonged to the colonial era and immediately they heard Decree two, they thought I was arrested for plotting a coup against the Abacha regime. So, they treated me like a coup plotter. However, there was one particular incident which was how I became president inside the prison. It was really a drama. Inside the cell, there were usually some laws that we usually followed. There were laws like one must not whistle and that you must not kill mosquito at night. In the prison, we had officers among us and the more serious your crime, the higher your office. Let’s say the current chairman is an armed robber who killed 10 persons, if we now have another one who killed 20 persons, the latter will become the president of the cell. Meanwhile, during my first three weeks, I familiarised myself with the inmates and they were calling me ‘student.’ There was a president that was just collecting the inmates’ money, sleeping in one corner and using it to buy provision items. One fateful day, one old man in the cell whistled and this awakened the president and he ordered that the old man be given 10 knocks on the head. As the knock got to count three, I just stood up. I didn’t even know how the spirit came upon me and it was as if all the people there were waiting for somebody to talk and the whole place just turned into pandemonium. The comptroller of the prison was contacted. The prison authorities were not concerned with who became the president of the prison. What they were interested in was peace to avoid resultant jail break. Hence, we were all called out of our cells and asked to vote for whoever we wanted as president. Both of us - the president and I – were asked to face the wall and the inmates were asked to queue behind whom they wanted as president. By and large, out of 47, 42 queued behind me and that was how I became president. What informed your radicalism? I’m a principled and an ideological person. During my secondary school days at Aquinas College and Oyemekun Grammar School, Ondo State, I had a history for fighting for rights. Also, Aluta is not something so unusual. People just bastardised the word. Aluta makes you ask questions to effect changes. Those of us in OAU had our ideologies and we believed that what is permanent in this world is change. Even our world develops: it develops from feudalism, fascism to capitalism. Some of us were saying that capitalism must give way to another system which is socialism. Meanwhile, the second influence came from my background. I came from a poor home. My father was a bricklayer. At that time, the poor were becoming poorer and the rich were getting richer. This is why I belonged to the radical school of thought. I’m not a conservative that would be contented with the status quo or that would have the idea of having a reform approach to issues. There is nothing to reform in a bad system. That is why some of us were against Prof. Dora Akunyili (Minister of Information and Communication) when she was going about with that project called ‘Rebranding Nigeria’. You don’t have to rebrand a good product; you only rebrand a bad product. Nigeria is a bad product and Prof. Akunyili was not doing the rebranding from a radical and intellectual perspective. As a Christian too, I believe in struggle. In the book of Joshua, God told the Israelites to march round the walls of Jericho for seven days. It was an act of struggle. So, I don’t know how some Christians nowadays resort to passivity. Even biologically speaking, from the theory of fertilization, when a man meets a woman, during ejaculation, four million spermatozoa are released. Out of all these spermatozoa, only one would fertilise the egg in the ovum. As they are ejaculated, they will start swimming until only one will fertilize the egg. This act is nothing but an act of struggle; so, we can see that life is all about struggle. Before getting admission into OAU, did you ever envisage spending these long years before graduating? No! I did not. This is because in my own time, I topped JAMB in OAU and I had 9As in Higher School Certificate and this helped me in my first year. I made 4.9 GP. •Mr. Isaac is a law student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. |
For Rwanda it depends on your pocket ,I think 1.5 and above considering that naira to Rwandan Francs is almost the same now |
talktomaruf:Yes there are |
KingCold:. Well, like I said earlier , have fun! you won’t beat me if I quote you nah lol, continue your pettiness with your southy geng on here, but don’t say Nigerians are petty towards y’all |
KingCold:. Well, have fun then , lol, you’re bored I haven’t called you Xenophobic Make we dey craze go together nah, but I don’t want to hear petty Nigerians, y’all are just as petty |
[quote author=KingCold post=126969992]Correction. We are not fighting, you are fighting us ..for dare making this thread. Trust me had the thread been about South Africa's Animals or whatever, you were still going to fight us.. The issue is our nationality.[/quote Well, first and foremost, it’s a Nigerian platform, just as you southies are possessive of your nation not to be runned over by every dick and Thomas from other nations, I’m not even angry about South Africans keeping out other fellow Africans, especially some Nigerians that go there to mess up, nairaland is a Nigerian platform, probably the biggest forum in Nigeria, you don’t come on here to deride and spew genera known tropes about Nigerians and expect to be smiled at ,same way you guys you won’t take that shit from any other national in your own country, so think of nairaland in that light as a foreign platform, I agree that there are some miscreants here and there among Nigerians, in fact I have faced a couple of them here severally, but if you come on nairaland as a South African and jump on the bandwagon of insulting Nigerians in general and not a particular individual who insulted or went out of line , then you’ll be stereotyped by petty Nigerians too, it’s just common sense bro |
KingCold:Dude I don’t give a flying Bleep about who is wining the other team among you southies and Nigerians insulting each other, I just said what I said , southies have their tropes that Nigerians I included use to troll South Africans, likewise you Southy guys too, it don’t mean they are generalizable to all Nigerians or South Africans, you guys knows this , both your fellow southies and the Nigerians here screaming back at y’all, but I guess both insulting squads just want to keep sipping the cool aid lol, I’m not here to have a discussion, just don’t say Nigerians are petty alone , you guys are just as petty as the ones insulting you here , including your boy @wannahowzit, I’m sure he’s going to type something slimy again about Nigerians, I’m cool with whatever insults y’all hurl at Nigerians, Nigerians always have a reply, in the end it’s all just f**king troll fest lol |
KingCold:Dude your other supporter is also found of shouting yahoo Yahoo, scammer, you want to shame another national with common tropes which to some extent are true about some Nigerians, but your country also have your world wide tropes too, one of it is HIV and the other Xenophobia , when any Nigerian think of South Africa, HIV and xenophobia comes to mind a lot of times , that doesn’t mean all southies are HIV people lol or that all are xenophobic, but they are tropes which have been pushed by media ,e.t.c so now it’s hard to convince fellow Africans that y’all are not those things , likewise Nigerians, so let everyone keep calling each other names to feel better, but don’t play the saint , you also use the usual Nigerian tropes to troll Nigerians, some of it are true about some Nigerians, but I guess it makes you feel better whenever you generalize and say all Nigerians are this and that, well ,let all of us be mad together on this forum lol as you southies and the Nigerians here insulting each other don’t want to collectively have sense . South Africans - HIV nation , xenophobia Nigerians - Yahoo and Scam Hq But what we both have in common I believe are bad leaders , maybe Nigeria leaders are worse sha ,but both nations can do better . |
South Africans , very funny people , you won’t accept that not all Nigerians are rotten and without moral compass to guide their actions , yet y’all also don’t want Nigerians to tag you all as xenophobic, spiteful, hateful lots, Nigerians here on this platform should get used to being insulted collectively as a rotten people by these sets of southies on the platform, it’s pointless , their hearts have sealed up tight ,to them , all Nigerians are collectively ,rotten people. Don’t waste your time explaining to these guys that not all Nigerians are involved in messing up South Africa , just keep reminding them that South Africans are the worst of the worst when it come to xenophobia, that is what they are known for as a people , two can play that game, whenever they keep ranting on about all Nigerians being rotten and corrupt , keep reminding them of what they are known “Xenophobia” Note: I don’t support stereotyping or branding a collective group of people as being all bad or being all the same ,but these set of South Africans are good at stereotyping all Nigerians as been all bad, so well they too are known for being xenophobic and two play that game of shaming each other , laslas everyone will be alright lol @samantha @kingcold @wannahowzit |

Japa Guys, I saw a post on Facebook of some people planning to visit Rwanda on a whim just because of posts and pictures of some beautiful Rwandan girls they saw online. This post of mine is meant to make some simple things clear before anyone travels just because of promises and fantasies anyone might have. First and foremost, visa. 1. Rwanda is visa free for Nigeria, though I am not sure if it still is, but ensure to do your research, if memory serves me, up until now, Rwandan has been visa for Nigeria, all you need is buy your ticket, yellow card and hotel booking and that should be all, I think, so think again before lazily doling out your money to agents, there is no process at all ,just buy your ticket and do the other things I mentioned. 2.Currency:s As at 2021 when I arrived here, the exchange rate of Naira to Rwanda francs was somewhere around 1 naira to 2 Rwandan francs, some of the Nigerians I met even told me it was higher than that in the previous years, fast forward to 2023 July and the naira is now struggling greatly even against the Rwandan Francs, so it is clearly not a promising sign for people who want to visit Rwanda, right now if you have a million naira with you ,you would barely get 1.5million Rwandan francs, in the previous years like 2021 and early 2022 ,you could get 1.6-1.8 million Rwandan francs. The exchange power of the Nigerian currency is at an all time low, if you do not want to be stranded ,don't be decieved by the exchange rates shown on Google, L.O.L, they are polar opposites, so my advice is change your naira to dollars and have it in mind that you would not change any naira to Rwanda francs in Kigali, do your exchange to dollar in Nigeria, if you come here to exchange naira to dollars, you will be shocked , so heed to this simple advice. 3.Flight ticket prices: This is another shocking offshoot of the low currency power of the naira, back in 2021 or early 2022, Lagos to Kigali was around 139k or lower to 150k, fast forward to 2023 July, the current ticket prices as listed on quite a number of ticketing platforms are around 280,000 naira - 340K or thereabouts for one way, while two ways bookings are around 580,000 naira - 600k and above, you can see almost a 100 percent increase. Kigali, however remains just a 4 hours flight, 4.Hotels and Accommodations in Kigali Hmmm, for hotel accomodation, be ready to pay 30$ to 80$ or more depending on your taste, but if you are looking to rent your own studio or apartment, be ready to between 80-120$ depending on the area, housing in Kigali is a gold mine , a room and parlor with toilet and no kitchen goes for 80$ in most places in Kigali, while a room and parlor with no toilet goes for 70$, while one that has both maybe 90$ -120$ per month , that's one area that makes real estate and housing in Lagos probably better than Kigali, however, when electricity becomes 100 percent in Nigeria, I am sure land owners and house owners would take a leaf from the Rwanda housing playbook, lol. So don't jump on the bandwagon of looking for 30$ or 50$ apartments, you may never find it because the house brokers are greedy as F.So be wise in your travel or visit plans. 5.F.A.Qs How long would may free visa last? You get just a month free visa as a Nigeria, use it to plan your journey, either to visit exciting places or apply for another class of visa, but most importantly, do not overstay your free visa , it puts a smear on the Nigeria green passport, be wise . Is there a Nigerian Embassy in Kigali, Rwanda ? Yes there is , I have been there personally, Nyarutarama, the Nigeria rep here is a friendly and kind woman, but watch out, if you have a issues, you would pay money ooo ,lol, but it's a good place to visit and register yourself as a Nigeria in Rwanda. How is the business landscape in Kigali, Rwanda? Hmmm, this one go far, there are some gray areas in doing business in Kigali ,Rwanda, where should I even start, Taxes:I think Rwanda and Kenya are probably one of the most tax-oriented economies in black Africa, and it works for them because for the most part, you can see that the taxes funds are being deployed into sectors of the country, however , for a foreigner, taxes in Rwanda may be a quick poison new start ups owned by foreigners, and there is a way for you to avoid because Rwanda's system is so effective at tracking almost payments and transactions, plus the taxes are not even commensurate to the size of the business. Whether you want to run a small or big business, it don't matter, there are several taxes lined up for you and you must pay, else wahala for you. 6. July- December I personally think that July-December are the colder months in Rwanda ,from morning till night , it would be chilly, so you may need to bring some sweaters till you adapt to the weather, you won't even need fans or air conditioners ,the weather is naturally cold during these periods. 7,8,9,10 To be continued when the spirit leads. Lest I forget, Rwandans are heavy drinkers, so don't join that train, else you'll be broke in a week with the way everything is becoming expensive globally. Opinion I think this is a bad time to even travel out of Nigeria because of the currency issue, you may be need anything above 1.5m naira to have a decent visit experience in Kigali, Rwanda, I say this as the lowest of low budgets to have when travelling currently to Kigali, Rwanda, if you make the mistake of travelling with lower, you would be certainly shocked when you arrive, so be wise. Travelling to Rwanda currently is not the same as any other year or years past, so do your budgets wisely ,plan and re-plan and have a clear goal if you intend to stay on. This is funny rejoinder to @proudpolygamist post My personal opinion, I think Rwandan women with such beautiful features are in the thousands , spotting ten thick women at the same time , in the same spot as you casually trek around in Kigali is a very common sight and it’s likely that at least 80 percent of their women are extremely thick and well shaped enough to be athletic, even with the thick hips and everything However most women answer the call of money ooo lol These are personal opinions based on time in Rwanda Plus their women are very marriageable but problem is how to be faithful as a man because the temptation is just too much , i am not saying they dress to kill , but their shape is just very overwhelming, however no matter how good you think you are as a man in the bedroom, when you are faced with women as thick as the majority of Rwandan women , the best thing is make up your mind and stick to one since majority of them are almost all thick, don’t go and kill yourself oo @proudpolygamist if you are in Rwanda be careful of messing around with Rwandan women or living nonsense life, Rwandan secret service sometimes arrest for flimsy things ooo lol No room for debauchery in Rwanda |
Raalsalghul:Newtimes of Rwanda |
nwadikeokey11:We are quick to stick out accusative hands at somebody else but forget that here in Nigeria we have hundreds of Kagame running out country to the ground , Nigerian government is is draped in democracy but the workings of the government is like an authoritarian regime , just a facade to deceive Nigerians . At least give Kagame the benefit of the doubt to see if he’ll go down as a power hugging leader who would mess up what he has built already because of clinging forever to power or if he’ll go the honorable path eventually . The Singapore, China and the Dubai and UAE e.t.c created their own system and their own world without following the western blueprint , why must we forever linger on this democracy democracy with little or no end result , Africa needs tough hands , the Europeans and westerners had a couple of such leaders too in the past , I don’t mean Tinubu kind of leaders though |
Rule of law is not a scam in Rwanda , if you follow due process you’ll be fine , i agree that Rwanda is an heavily militarized country, but I have had two to three run ins with them their Police , In fact their force and RIB take foreigners issues very seriously because they care about the image of their country . If you want a free , open , liberal country where you can do as you please try Uganda , Ugandans themselves will tell you they prefer Rwanda because things are better organized I understand that there are some grey areas in the Rwandan governmental system , but as of now, every serious African country will work better with some tough hands at Thebes helms of affairs to put the necessary things in place , Rwanda has even started signing visa waivers with other country like Brazil with was agreed today Visa free deal with Brazil and are in the process of securing Belgium visa waiver as well. It is not a perfect country , just like Singapore someone has to do the dirty job of putting a nation on the right track I do not support the spying and other things , but even in countries like Qatar and the likes , you can get thrown out if you act anyhow and forgot that as a visitor in a country you must act in accordance’s with the country’s laws Even US has state secrets and confidential information that must not disclosed anyhow and they also arrest people secretly for such but you and I won’t know anything . As for business , taxes on businesses are higher for foreigners in Rwanda , I agree with that , but that a nobody will just come and take over your business , I don’t know of that, but taxes I agree with because I also run a business with a friend here and we always talk about it . But talks of of Kagame is a dictator , only time will tell whether he would follow the honorable path of stepping down or appointing his family members , for now ,the deals and his leadership direction are very much on point , you don’t need to believe me, I’m not a Rwandan , but if Nigeria hasn’t a Kagame , everyone will sit tight and a lot of nonsense will stop in Nigeria and our image as a nation will get better . So not all African leaders must follow the supposed saintly path of democracy. |

If you ever dream to own land in Rwanda 🇷🇼, this is a beautiful place with amazing view of twin lakes and chain of five volcanoes. Quite a number of people actually prefer to just be in Kigali, however visiting Kigali is already stale ,but quite a number of provinces you could visit in Rwanda with such beautifully appealing sites ,there is Lake Kivu, but it's always full with travellers, hikers ,bikers, boat cruise people and so much noise ,if you are Rwanda already you can actually visit Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo alone to just see the sights alone with you and a few of your friends , but sha be careful of tremors hahaha, cos there are quite a number of stubborn volcanoes close by in the province regions of Rwanda , however, there are beautiful sites to see there than in Kigali. You can trek for hours and take in the sights, or go mountain biking or boat cruising in the lakes , my point there are less visitors , but you can also go visit Lake Kivu later the same day as well as Lake Kivu is the after party place to be after visiting and taking in the sights at Lake Burera. You will likely meet a lot of bike packers, mountain bikers ,e.t.c on your visit in Lake Burera, whites likes to stress themselves too much lol There are pictures of a close friend who goes hiking often in Lake Burera ,he lives in the country side.

JrSteven:Why was he picked up ? What did he do? Nigerian embassy is at nyarutarama , I have the number of the Nigerian embassy reps, but text me on WhatsApp +250784475998 |
I Karnice600:Great word bro “Even good seeds, choke in bad soils , the environment and society in Nigeria is the figurative bad soil , and the few remaining good seeds are withering away and the margin for survival for good people in Nigeria is constantly reducing. |
Nigerians don’t have anything to prove to SAns or anyone, she’s already made up her mind about what she thinks of us , so she’s literally a brick wall , no need convincing anyone , man everybody pack well and dey their dey So y’all should stop taking any of the SAns here’s seriously , their minds are already sealed up , they go about looking for the negatives in every Nigerian they meet ,but good and God-fearing Nigerians should defend themselves against this lot, SAns have terrible people as well but you don’t see this lot calling out their own people for their xenophobic tendencies , in their eyes “it’s not so bad “ Overall Nigerians everywhere should sit and act right , else this lot would keep profiling both the good and the bad |
Skyview01:Bro you have done your bit, were it that there was a South African platform like nairaland majority of these South Africans purists would have been cancelled or removed from the platform all together We have a digital space that allows all and sundry spill toxicity However we have to acknowledge that Nigerians in SA can do better , and if they are willing to be good ambassadors of Nigeria in SA then whatever the SAns do to them , they should accept it like that We should hold ourselves accountable , but we should also keep defending the collective image of good Nigerians representing and promoting Nigeria in good light That madam has a beef with Nigerians as well as the howzit guy and the rest of them . Regardless good Nigerians should keep defending their own image and not let some few South Africans with a hardened mind against Nigerians to put them, you are who you are , be a good ambassador of the nation and defend their own image. |
hunee:Bring Nigerian food oh, garri and Nigerian beans , I have missed those, lol |
