My people my name is Obinna
Believe me.. The horror of going thru our embassy abroad is a true living night mare
A trauma... Pains.. And sorrows... Regrets...
I and my wife have spent in excess of almost $1,000 dollars now for the trauma of making the mistake
Of sending our new baby's passport to the Nigerian embassy in New york and paying for visa.

We paid the visa money and sent passport with return order over $200 in all... Over a month plus now.
Now it's few days to departure back to Nigeria.. ... No way. To pick call is a problem ..we have to book emergency flight to New York... Very expensive... Book hotel as we have no one there.... Pay again for new Nigerian passport as they said visa stamp is finished... (over a month plus) now no visa... After having submitted our baby's passport for over a month plus to them....
All our funds almost gone.... And we pray to God they give us the passport...bkos we are messed up if any story comes in as a result of not having the passport issued us on getting to New York.

My people to avoid trauma... Just go online... Choose option of visa on arrival.. Pay the fees... On your travel date carry downloaded papers and confirmation... Show at airport. Board with ur baby... Reach Nigeria... Go To Visa stamp section.... Highest 1 hour plus sitting down... They stamp your baby passport with visa here in Nigeria and u walk Höme...
If Visa finish for Nigeria... At least u are home...
They will give u whatever needs to be given to allow u walk home with your baby.

WE were ignorant... We shold never have processed at the embassy abroad.
Now we are paying the price...
Please pray for us my wife gets the passport on getting to New York.

Am sorry about this.
Pls will I need to buy return ticket for the baby using Visa on Arrival?

Thanks.

Hubby and I were also denied visa in May this year.

I had no change of intention frm the visiting visa to the medical visa. But we were not denied on that ground. Ours was that we didn't take our bills and receipts along, and because we were still on a payment plan.

We applied again in July, and got a date in Nov. Applied for an expedited interview date but was declined that child birth is not a real emergency.

Exactly, one week ago, we were before another VO, we had our bills and reciepts and zero balances this time. And we were honest about the failure to procure a change of Intention for the previous birth, and apologised. She stated categorically that there's nothing wrong in having a baby with a visiting visa. We were shocked!

She asked their usual questions.
She handed us the white sheet and added that they'll need time to go through the payment documents we handed her for the previous birth, and that we'll receive an e-mail or sms expressing their decision on our application. I was so nervous at this point that I'm not sure I included all my itemised bills.
DH said he heard her say that the visa decision will be made in a day or two. But the white sheet says within 60days. It's a week now no info.

Am really worried for the following reasons;
1. My EDD is middle of nxt month, and am really big and exhausted by now. (P.S. I'll be going with a 2yr old toddler).
2. Have cancelled my appointment with my doctor severally.
3. Am considering writing the Embassy, to inform them about the urgency of my case, and to add that the visa will be useless to me if it's approved after this period. Cause I refused buying ANYTHING for my LO's birth cause I planned to shop there. Didn't want to carry much load.
OR
Should I give up on the visa and start plan B of having the LO here, and start shopping for him.

4. My mom had already traveled in October to wait for me, cause she said she can't travel in d cold.

Am very sorry for the long post. Pls help! Am not together at all.

Hello house,
This is an update.
Visas have been approved finally. Am back to say thank you house for all that you do.
I should leave almost immediately.

Pls who has flown Delta through Atlanta, HEAVILY pregnant, and with a toddler, can you book for wheel chair service and still carry a stroller in it?
And if so, how do u book for wheelchair?
Finally, and not quite related to this topic, my almost 2yr old is potty training and hates to use her diapers for No.1 n 2 (only when she's asleep), don't think I can do the toilet rounds with her considering my state. She loves drinking and as such pees frequently.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you.

I'll be back to share my CBP experience to help others too.

Please someone should help me out

My dear, the deed is done, you can't kill yourself. Just tell them the truth and apologise sincerely. Personally, I had no idea about the change of intention thingy, otherwise I would have applied for it.
As for the huge discounts, you didn't beg for it. It's what the service providers placed before you that you paid. Tell them you had no idea you were supposed to reject self pay discounts. That it's novel to you.
Besides, you are not going to have another baby so I don't see why they should still reject you.
I would have loved to say be confident, but I was gittery.
All the best tomorrow. The house awaits your success story.

Good afternoon good people of this thread, please I need your candid advice, in 2015 I had a baby in the USA in August 2015 at 37weeks, in September 2017, I and my family applied for visa through Dropbox but we were denied under 221g, we went for interview, I was the only one questioned ( majorly about why I had so much discounted hospital bill and why I did not disclose my pregnancy status during our interview in Jan 2015) well we were denied visa. We are scheduled to have an interview tomorrow and I really don’t know what to expect and I am so anxious. NB:I am not pregnant at the moment. Please what can you all tell me to encourage me and help me prepare for tomorrow’s interview. Thank you

Firstly you do not qualify for dropbox cos ur 1st visa wasn't issued in Nigeria.

In addition to this, I'll advise you use your uncle's wife. The relationship is more explicit. Also refer to her as your "Aunt".

(Even if your uncle was employee, I don't think your surnames will be the same.)

The purpose of the address is in case you need to be contacted. Hospital contact will not suffice, you don't live there, and will not always be there. Also, a resident with a *definite address has to be responsible for you.

Lmao. And who told you it’s not my country too? Or that I need a visa to get in the country? I was talking on behalf of the people who had been sent back unjustly and what can and cannot happen. Calm down and read what we were talking about.

He/she wasnt referring to you in person, I guess. Only responding generally, esp to those who r visitors.

. Dnt use shea butter on her hair either. It is high in fat and can also clog her hair pores its kk for the skin but if not used properly for the hair can cause more damage dan good. For the coconut oil, ask in ur local market. Get d castor oil in a pharmacy. And if u aint sure about the oil u might get in the market u can make it @ home like I do for my girls

Thought castor oil is mainly a purgative. I get worried about applying it. As u know babies scratch on their scalps alot, n d next thing it goes straight 2d mouth.

Same happened to me, was denied B1/B2 visa for the purpose of giving birth. Please I need help, what should be the next thing to do?

You recently requested for a room in Houston. Did you make it eventually?
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Shiebi: 10:19am On Nov 01, 2018
]Can one request for an expedited appointment to reapply if you have been denied a B2 visa for the purpose of traveling to the US to give birth? Thanks.

U can apply for expedited appointment after a previous denial for birthing purposes. In my case, that was refused too on the basis that CHILD BIRTH IS NOT A. REAL EMERGENCY.

Hello everyone,

Pls I urgently need help.
Having been denied visa in May, d VO advised that we pay up outstanding bills before we try again(P.S.: DH opened up abt still being on a payment plan frm d 1st missionary journey) The "situation has changed..." as required by the coloured sheet. Interview date is scheduled for nxt month. EDD is in less than a mnth after the interview (an attempt 2procure an expedited interview date, declined. That child birth is not a real emergency).
Really really worried. Pls who has faced a VO after a previous turn down based on bill balance on a payment plan with the collections office/debt collectors.
