This analysis is funny,
How can the trips be useless and worthless if they made u go home with more money?
Better drop this kain mentality, u go out to work and make money not to be sentimental and emotional.
I understand ur point that u rather sit tight and wait for good trips than go for rubbish trips, but we have to be careful that in selecting good trips, we are not being greedy or foolishly ignoring "okay" trips.
Sometimes two average trips are better than one good long trip. E.g Ojodu to Ikeja 4k, Ikeja to Yaba 4k, Yaba to VI 4k. These are average trips but I am sure to many people, a perfect trip would be Ojodu to VI 8k.

The point is, all other things being equal, any set of trips that gives me more money take home is no longer useless and worthless.
This aren't even better trips, ojodu to ikeja should be nothing less than 6k, Ikeja to yaba to should be 6k while yaba to VI should be 7k and for the straight trip of ojodu berger to VI, it shouldn't be less than 13k

Reason being that short trips waste more time while long trips safe time. The time you will spend on those short trip before getting to VI will be longer than the time you will spend on 1 single trip from berger to VI

The prices are so poor even Keke fares are better, it's time we talk less and make a strong statement to the app companies. Afteral, trips are even scarce cos of the fasting this period. Maybe we should strike for 3days
Everybody should send mails to the Bolt, Uber and InDrive,
Strike should be threatened maybe they will change.

Secondly, if u are still picking nonsense trips on Indrive, u are a f**l.
If u are still using Economy Category of Bolt when u have the option of Bolt Category u are a f**l. When some people are strictly doing Comfort and Priority, u are still shamelessly putting on Economy like a bambiala, nature will punish u.
If Riders don't find who will carry them on the cheap fares they will increase it. If they don't find any driver on Economy they will pick Bolt. Somehow the App companies are giving us what we deserve. Cos how will u be doing Economy trips without surge? Even d Bolt Category is so cheap I will be wondering whats going on, I just switch to Comfort for my sanity.
This is not a matter of CNG or Suzuki, there are many other things that can spoil in a car that will need hundreds of thousands of naira to fix and I am hundred percent sure none of these f**lish drivers have 200k in their account.

So how can we be self destructing?
Just know the price is truly ridiculous if pearl can say this grin

you see car maintenance is one of the things that take huge chunk of the money we make unless you are not ready to put your car in the right shape. I wonder how someone will say driving your car for long hours every day does not have any effect on your car. Something wey be say you maintenance bills will go up and one thing is repairing cannot return the car to it original state.
Changed all the shocks and did all the leg works still the car is making some squeaky sound now
That squeaky sound is from rust and very hard to locate where it's coming from.

Been going to d mechanic week in week out .. I done tire .
Noticed my gear oil was leaking sometime last year. Around august. Took it to a gear man. He said he need to drop d gear to confirm where d leakage is from. He charged 100k we negotiated 90k. He said if it was gear pump it will b 90k if it was just oil seal it will b 50k...

Later he said it was both. So he fixed it d leakage stop. I know dat most gear people hardly buy any parts kus dey always have gear parts on their shops.... so I was certain he didn't buy any parts from d market. He just change it with a bad gear in his shop. Only for it to start again after 2 month.... Took it back to him and he told me no b him fault. Say na d parts wey him buy. Dat is his bring it back in January.. I was furious and left... Took it to anoda gear person kus d leakage was much.. I have worked with both gear mechs before. I showed him and he said na 150k last to fix. And said it will not leak giving me guarantee. I tried to bargain he said 150k last. This was December 25 or so. He fixed it and said I needed to buy oil which I no say na lie. I sent money and everytin was ready... Been using d car till now. Only to check under to see its leaking again.. send him images. Will have to take d car back to him. This my car done chop going to 500k since december... From evaporator to compressor to 4 coils, normal servicing, shock etc. I done tire. I can't even meet up d money I borrowed sef with this useless fair ehalling apps dey being out. My tire is tired
Why not just get a tokunbo gear and trade in yours?

With the current price, I don't think V8 user can make money.

Even if he use V8 on ehailing, he will still make money. But you have to understand that, most response from some people on this thread is squarely from business point of view, it goes beyond survival. Not just getting back your fuel money. Many of us don't even know how to calculate profit. we just plan to get back fuel money. Few years, the Tokunbo will turned Tiladipobo. Then, he will now be considering CNG , after Kazeem and Nigeria pam oil have messed up the car. So, whichever way, you are right because he will make money, but not likely good money.
Your first paragraph, pls tell me you're just joking.

I picked her up from one dark road around Olowu in Ikeja, and then she asked me to make a detour that she wants to buy something. The girl was young...probably like 21 or 22, and dressed like a tomboy. She wasnt the regular kind of girls i pick up at that time of the night, Omo...na so we make a few turns and ended up in one weed spot with many rough looking guys outside (mostly junkies). When she went to get the stuff, I thought it was a set up cos she took too long to come out and the guys were looking at my car. Then one of the guys approached me and tried to forcefully open the door. I wound down and asked why he was struggling with my door. I later found out he was a junkie that was very hungry. I gave him Gala and he left.

When the girl came out, he grabbed her by the arm and they spoke briefly. The girl later told me the guy used to be her guy, and was doing very well till he got hooked on drugs. We gisted throughout the journey from ikeja to ikotun, and it felt I was gisting with a younger sister at some point. And then when we got to the drop off spot, which happened to be a hotel, the guy she was going to meet came out...and before she dropped, she said in a low voice, "pray for me, this is my first time doing this." The whole encounter was just really weird.
You dey do midnight work towards ikotun?

Hmm.
Sha be careful o

I sleep at the back seat.. I roll down my back windows and use net..
Honestly it feels comfortable, if I work till around 2am , I won't wake early to work.
The only reason ill wake early around let's say 5am is to bath then go back to sleep.

Anytime I have to work midnight, I won't start work early, ill sleep till let's say 9am,.
Trust me, you will be energized for the next day work
You sleep inside your car till 9am,

Geez, don't you have house in Lagos?

My AC man told me 100k. Another guy i asked said 70k. The thing is, i want to have like 200k before I go and replace it, cos I always find that once they start AC component replacement, they almost always find out that you have to replace some other components...I don't want them to remove compressor and then tell me even condenser and valve need replacement.

By the way, i drive a 2008 Honda Accord.
This doesn't happen with only AC, it's car generally. You will have the intention to fix 1 thing but end up fixing other things along.

Which country listed uber driving as part of shortage occupation list? How's that remotely possible?
It's possible, some companies might consider using Bolt/Uber profiles to shortlist job applicants, particularly for driving roles, as they believe Uber drivers have relevant driving experience. They can also leverage the driver's ride history and customer reviews to assess their suitability for the position.
