@Djdamian
Inflation shouldn't be any reason to demand a huge return, if inflation comes into play in your investment, that should be applied to the car and not the return...
For instance, they sell cars in 2018 for 1.4m as foreign used, someone who bought a car in 2018 for 1.4m will not sell that car same amount in 2024...
Your car retains it's value, and inflation actually benefits it, meaning returns you have been getting on the car represents your profit while your capital still retains its value or a little less than... |

Djdamian: Not everyone you meet online is uninformed. I didn’t get to where I am today by simply saving money in the bank. I have other ventures that can triple my earnings in a year. Just because I’m asking questions based on some comments here doesn’t mean I don’t know how to manage or invest money.
For an investor, it’s about turnover, and it seems that point is often overlooked. How many years would it take me to recover my capital of 7 million naira if I’m being paid 65k weekly? Three years?
Many people assume, “the investor just collects money while the driver does the work,” without considering the risks involved. Within those three years, inflation could devalue the investment, the car could be impounded, accidents could occur, or even natural disasters could strike. These are critical factors that must be accounted for. Who suffers? ,Driver using the car to make money or the person who invested his hard earned money buying the car in the first place? I still don’t quite grasp your argument. Regarding the other factors you mentioned, how can the significant weekly return you request for protect your capital/investment if any of those factors come into play? If you're looking for security for your car or capital, you should think about implementing some measures to ensure your safety. Requesting a huge amount in returns doesn’t provide any assurance for your car. I feel you're focusing on the money they make... |

Djdamian: I disagree with you on certain points. The soundness and efficiency of a car are crucial to its profitability in the e-hailing business. This is why you rarely see V8 or V6 vehicles used for this purpose. As an investor, I prioritize purchasing a reliable, high-quality vehicle, even at a higher cost, to avoid issues that could hinder a driver from meeting their targets.
Moreover, expecting an investor to accept 60k weekly while knowing that a driver makes 1 million net monthly seems unreasonable. Under such terms, it would take the investor over two and a half years just to recover their capital, let alone make a profit. Meanwhile, the driver, within the same period, could earn over 18 million.
Or am I getting it all wrong cos it's not making sense to me Shouldn't you also put other things into consideration, the 1m isn't what they take home. You should factor other expenses into that 1m as well. Based on some people's claim I've been seeing here, they gross 100k with 25k fuel and pay commission of 25k. That's expense of 50% of their gross earnings, their take home from 1m monthly earnings will be 500k. If they are paying 240k monthly out of the 500k to their supposed partners, isn't that fair enough, except their partners wants a huge chunk of their earnings... |

CheerfulGiver: Yes. But I'll never advise any driver to pay more than 65k to anyone right now.
The 65k comes with a lot of conditions that MUST be favourable to the driver. If they can't be met, investor can kick rocks. Well, considering how expensive cars are now, 65k isn't too much to demand as weekly returns. |

Djdamian: This is indeed a very intriguing topic.
If drivers can genuinely remit 120k-140k or more weekly, I believe many investors would renew their interest in this business, including myself. 120k or more weekly... Are this people making this much? |

CheerfulGiver: Lmao
Chapel Hill does not exist. He can't raise 20 million. If he can raise 20million, he won't be here on this forum.
Dapotemi is a stupid person. A very stupid person. He reads without understanding. If I asked an investor not to spend more than 3m on a car, it doesn't mean he shouldn't invest more than 3 million. The guy is as dense as a rock. He keeps shouting 20m to get 800k monthly without realizing that if Mr investor should invest 20m on ehailing, he'll be buying 6 cars which at the rate of 3m each would be 18m.
If investor follows what I have outlined because of the less fuel and expense on driver he will get 65k weekly or 260k monthly on each car which totals 1.560 gross a month from 18m.
Chapel hill rants are his ignorant rants as usual. This is someone who isn't bright. He got to where he is because people he knows kept pushing him to meet someone else. He can't get anything on merit. He's dull. He's not sharp. If he was a knife, he'd be a dull rubber butter knife, and he still won't be able to cut through butter.
Explaining everything on Nairaland as if I'm talking to 6 year olds is cumbersome because of fools like dapotemi. He's only worthy of being a punching bag of insults. He's as useless as the "P" in Psychology. Pls, which car can someone get for 3m, and will still be in good condition.... |

Your subject is confusing, had and now can't be used together, it's like saying someone had it before the current status of the economy and if you mean, if someone have 5m now, is the 5m for flight alone or including visa fees and processing? 20m isn't even guaranteed to take you to Europe or North America now, not to talk of 5m.. Felicity001: For those of you still driving let me guve you a few advise.
If you car don't have a catalyst, try get an original one installed back into it not minding the cost, this is not the time to drive around without a catalyst in your car.
The roads have fewer cars these days than it used to have many months ago, so this is the time you may want to drive and earn big, just make sure you have a road worthy car even though the body is not that good just make sure the engine, gear and your tyres are in a topnotch condition.
Now is not the time to drive with winter or spike or deflated tyres, all these things have a factor on your mpg, make sure they're all in good shape.
Get cars with 1.4l, 1.6l, 1.8l or 2.0l engine. Work smart, drive smart and make every km drive count.
Dont skip breakfast, if you're observing spiritual sections stay at home. A healthy and well fed driver is hard distracted when behind the wheel.
Among all things, pray and play the best genre of music that makes your soul happy.
Good luck in your hustle. Wonderful tip, thanks so much boss |

Nelochukwu: My brother I'm just so weak at the level of minds that comment on this thread. See. I used to earn 3.5m per annum in Skye Bank 2014. After doing training school at Onireke Ibadan in 2013 skye Graduate Intensive Training SGIT after 6 months and confirmation I started earning and with quarterly 13thmonth etc 350k per month. Now a bag of rice then was less than 12k. At that level I should be earning like 2.5m in present day by the standard of inflation in 2014 cause then I have recall my house rent was 300k. I would usually wait for one quarterly and pay rent.
Here we are 10years later. I'm. Business owner also hustling and my mates in the same stream are either SBOs or AMs how much do they earn. None. I repeat NONE of them earn more than mein a month.
Now an Uber guy is gifted 5m plus a toks car and someone said his not smart. Lol. Can salary earners boast of 500k in their accounts? I mean a whole5m ans a toks corolla to further make money. Mehn iz like someone working in corporate world given a better job(toks corolla) I mean better than whatever he earns and also 5m. Even if u gift davido 5m he will thank u.
Truth is iz poor minds with broke inferiority complex who have nothing to their names and feel threatened by their own natural instincts to make money on d streets instead being paid all their lives to forget their own lives.
Abeg live and let live Anyone who's against the guy for collecting that offer isn't in his/her right senses, collecting that offer was the best move for him to die the case, if he pursue the case further, he may end up regretting why not taking the offer and for someone in power, they can do anything to him while Nigerians will only clamour for justice they may not even get for him. If I was in the guy's shoe, I won't even blink once I get such offer to, nah 3 slaps make that guy a millionaire overnight and someone somewhere is saying he doesn't have dignity, I laugh 😂 |

Pearl1910: Some people just want to be unfortunate in this life sha. Can't count 9-5 people begging me for money. I bought cloths for one of them the other day, infact one of them is an accountant, na me give am tp still give am pocket money make him take see road before salary enter. All these accountants are very unfortunate, they are only exposed to other people's money, shi shi no dey their pocket. Even when they travel, they can't afford food and drinks or even dry cleaning where company lodges them. Aje 9-5 people are rag tags. So penniless they stoop low to do driver work, infact they can even do cleaner work, just to see extra change. You know this is a very insensitive statement. You don't get to generalise things, just because you assisted a struggling accountant doesn't mean other accountants or salary earners are struggling... You don't badmouth something all because you want to justify something... |
