GAZZUZZ:Thanks Gazuzz, just seeing this. You have good team down there. Hope to meet with you in person on our next visit. Eku ise wa. |
billy187:Thanks |
GAZZUZZ:We will call you soon. |
billy187:My hubby said you are referring to the distributor cap. The thing is that the car suddenly lose power and jerks to a stop when the engine is warm. |
billy187:Is it the spark plug wires ? The coil was checked but no fault was detected. |
GAZZUZZ:Here is it .
|
ogawisdom:Thanks |
ogawisdom:We hardly buy our fuel outside NNPC and we've not bought black market for more than a year now. The last mech that took out the pump ( even though other mechs who initially worked on it said it was the fuel pump but afterwards later found out that fuel was pumping well) didn't see any thing wrong with the fuel. So it is not the fuel at all. He only said the pump was clogged and replaced it. My husband is considering going back to him to collect his original pump since the pump refit wasn't the issue. Another thing is that each time after jerking to a stop, the plugs are blackened and after cleaning them and allowing the car to cool for sometime , the car will start again. We initially thought it was the plugs and changed it twice! The mechs are tired of picking our calls now cos I guess they have also run out of options. I won't mind the gazzuzz details if he can profer a permanent solution that is not too expensive cos we've spent far too much unbudgeted funds on the car and its frustrates him everyday. Thanks |
Ike77503:Seriously? |
ogawisdom:My husband has a Carina e XLI. Served for years and ha gone for even up to a year without a need for the mechanic but its parked now. Started jerking and we tried several solution without success. The mechs or electrician will just come an assure that its a small thing, collect money an daftwr repairing, the car would still jerk. He bought new spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, changed a working fuel pump, and injector nozzles still no change. I would just start jerking especially when the car ha warmed. I know it has o do with with how the can deals with temperator anndhence an electrical fault but that's as far as my mech orientation would take me. Have you experienced this before o know anyone with solution in Lagos? He's not a nairalander els I'd have told him to create a thread. Thankss |
MayorofLagos:From the recent 50th documentary done, there seemed to be a coup within the original coup that changed the ditecti of the first coup. The inside coup was believed to be more tribal than political. |
Thanks for refueling my entrepreneurial spirit. Just what I needed for this new start and by the way the attached would be valuable for your cargo biz and is available for sale. Soar !!!

But why was the money given to the NSA? Is it the Defence ministry? Does it have the powers of appropriation? That's besides the fact that its an extra budgetary spending that needed to be ratified by the national assembly! |
histemple:Seriously. He even seems to be playing a trifle better today. The match against Egypt was just terrible. Was as if his mind was somewhere else, until he sees the ball go past him! |
Thatour no15 defender is simply terrible. How he makes the team really surprises me. Wrong positioning and low concentration according to my beau, and he's displaying that already. |
naptu2:Lol. Memories. Benita had a younger sis who always had more swag than her in her videos. |
That no15 in defence was a mess. He didn't deserve to play 90mins. Hubby was just venting throughout the match . Poor positioning, poor pace, easily out thought, not quickly sorting out his legs, low concentration. The back line was poor but he was the weakest link. |
chosen04:I've just seen the video. KANU actually took a spanking from those Igbo elders in that meeting. |
Just want to make a comment here |
Hmmm. Ontv is showing the match live? Or am I watching an old match? |
berexio1:Express entry. |
hesvey:Someone should respond to this Biko |
zandora:Pls I'm sorry for dragging you back. I want to know, if I have the required amount for 6 months but like a year or so ago I.e. its not recent; is it still usable as proof of funds? Thanks |
Hello house. I'm about starting the Canada emigration plan. Just me and my hubby for now. Pls does anyonr have the shortcut list of steps to take in order of priority? I'm going to be the primary applicant and I'm a Mech engr. I'd really appreciate your response. |
How much does a Nigerian passport cost and "Who's helping you"? – Abiodun Kuforiji Nkwocha Simple question isn’t it? Wait o! Not very simple here in Nigeria. I have had numerous experiences processing mine, my sister’s and my son’s. Let me share my renewal experience last year. I had an impromptu trip to take and my passport had just expired. I asked my husband how much his renewal had cost and he said N25,000. I heard there was a new immigration office close to my office. A co-worker had just gotten one and he told me it cost him N22,000. Since I had a rough Idea I went to the office. At the gate, some immigration officers interrogated me on what I wanted. I was a bit confused and I asked them if I could get my passport renewed and they said I could, then they asked “Is there someone helping you?” I felt the dormant stubborn streak I do not admit exists in me begin to rise. I asked them why I needed to have anyone ‘helping’ me. Wasn’t I supposed to walk in and start the process? They got angry and you could see they were out to deal with me. So, they wrote the website address for me and said I had to start from there. I called their bluff and went to a café immediately. I filled the forms and proceeded to the bank. Not many branches ever handle immigration fees payments. I will explain shortly. I finally found an Ecobank branch and made the payments. THE PASSPORT COST ME N9,225 bank charges inclusive. This made me strengthen my resolve not to give anyone any money. I went back to the immigration office. As I entered, I met a man at the door. He asked me what I wanted. I told him I just wanted to know what was required to renew my passport. He then said “Wait for me outside, I will get someone to help you.” I went outside and then a stocky dark girl not in uniform introduced herself as Bose. The Immigration officer peeked out of the office to tell me that she was the person who would help me. She collected my printouts and said I had to buy a file, which I did. She walked to some shacks within the premises (Cafés apparently). They had the template for me to apply for the passport which they printed for me. She then asked me if I knew how much it would cost. “Aunty, your money na N5,000.” I told her I didn’t have any money, she quietly handed my documents back to me and strolled away without a backward glance. The immigration officer asked me what the problem was, I told him I didn’t have money to pay. He asked me if I was planning to travel out. How wouldn’t I have any money? He even asked me where my husband worked and told me to go and get the money from my husband. I refused and he said he couldn’t help me. I walked to the reception. And it took a long while before anyone would attend to me. You need to understand that loads of people were there for their passports, but they were all sitting down while the officer they knew was working it out for them. The woman at the reception asked the same question “Who is helping you?” I told her I was doing it myself. She asked why I was. I told her I could not afford any extra charges. She called me behind the counter and looked at me. She said I couldn’t tell her I didn’t have any money. She asked where I was working. I told her I was a civil servant. I told her I was waiting for my salary. She then promptly ignored me. Some Officer came with some files and saw me standing helplessly. He then asked me “Who is helping you?” And the story continues. After explaining to him, he decided to look at my file. He then scolded me for doing it by myself. He said that people don’t know how to do it properly by themselves. He said a page was missing and I had to go back to where I did it. I then went to the café outside and a guy agreed to print the missing page for N500. I went back inside and ran into the first officer. He asked me how much I could afford for them to help me. I told him I didn’t have anything. He told me that he couldn’t spend his money to assist me because there was no way I could get my passport without giving something. He then said he would do me a favor and get the application for a passport approved but that was all he could do. He got it approved and I thanked him profusely for doing what was probably his job. He directed me to the next desk. And the question came without fail “Who is helping you?” I got lucky when I was sent to a desk and I heard someone speaking Hausa in that office. I immediately told the Hausa man to help me in Hausa. I told him I couldn’t afford their fee. He then called a younger officer and instructed him to help me. That was how I got to the data capturing stage without dropping any money. The person in charge of the files for capturing proceeded to ask the same question. “Who is helping you?” He was amazed that I had gotten that far on my own. I told him I did not have anyone helping me. I asked him when my passport would be ready and then when he spoke I knew they had me by the jugular. He said that it would take a month or so. He proceeded to say they were expecting materials from Abuja and he did not know when precisely it would be ready. My ticket had been bought already. I was 2 weeks away from my trip and my visa was expiring in about 6 weeks from that day. I could not chance it. I asked him how I could get it sooner. He then said N3,000. I tried to bargain and he wouldn’t shift. When I paid him, I asked when I could get the passport. He then asked me to come back the next day by noon. (The materials miraculously arrived at that point.) I collected my passport the next day without incident. Do you know why most bank branches listed as collectors don’t have any experience processing immigration fees? Because almost all payments are done by immigration officers “helping” people. They almost always use particular branches for this. I have never seen an immigration office where the actual cost of the passport is published on their boards. You usually haggle the fee with the officers. My sister just paid N30,000 for a passport which is now officially N15,000. If you are below 18 and over 60, the passports should cost less. I have paid full price for my one month old son before. Conclusion. If no one is helping you, please find a bible believing church to attend, you will need God's help in Nigeria. *Source: Sabinews Nigeria |
Amaechi already working the crowd! |
hottestlegs:Lol. I'm glad you're giving thus a run too. I'm a Mechanical ENGR BTW. Back to the matter. Stay with me on this... Pipe 1 that can fill the tank in 30mins was opened for 1min. Then pipe 2 which can fill in 20mins was opened for another 1min; then pipe 3 which can fill for 15mins was opened for another 1 min. According to your analysis ( which I admit I've not checked thoroughly); each was left opened. My take: After the 3rd pipe was opened for 1min, and assuming the tank capacity is 150L; what we have is : Pipe A flow rate: 5L/min Pipe B flow rate: 7.5L/min Pipe C flow rate: 10L/min After opening the three pipes successively in 3mins, we have : [(5*3)+(7.5*2)+(10*1)]= 40liters piped in after three mins. Which = 13.33L/min. After this 3rd minute, if all pipes are on until the tank is full ( which kinda negates the whole essence of the purpose if the question) This had made the calculation a little cumbersome but you will have . (5+7.5+10)L/min = 22.5L/min pumping till its filled. Can you solve that?! Its been made complex! The truth us that the only we can have thus done simply is to state ( or assume) that each pipe is put off after running it for 1min. And this is why I told passingshot initially that putting all pipes on isn't the same as putting the pipes on successively. I hope I made some sense. If you still don't get some parts, let's thrash it. Its interesting. |
ALVA001:OK. modification seen. But this still does not state if the opened pipes are left opened when opening the successive one. cos if they are, then hot legs is correct. You may need to do another modification. |
hottestlegs:You are assuming that "successive" in the ops question means that each pipe will be left open when opening the next pipe. There isn't enough info to make this definitive. |
PassingShot:Your are correct. I guess the op was considering the source flow rate or pump force and wanted to remove any ambiguity. Let me flip the question: A tank of 150litres has 3taps. Each can empty the tank in 30mins, 15mins and 20mins. How long will it take to empty the tank if a. each tap were opened for 1min successively, and b. if all the taps were opened at once. You should know that while you'll have the same answer as the op's for "a"; you will have a different answer for "b". The total flow rate for "b" wont be the addition of the individual flow rates as will be affected by the shape of the tank and the position of the taps amongst other factors. To calculate it you would need the knowledge of hydraulics and pipe flow engineering. But yes, you are correct about the ops question. |
hottestlegs:This is wrong. |

dts not for this thread sha. Let's share d best periods with our cars.
