@passingshot. You are actually wrong about the pipes opening together or at the same time. The op us correct by saying the pipes were opened successively. This us because, practically, when you open all the pipes, flow rate generally reduces when compared to the flow rates taken from each of the pipes. What these flow rates reduce to may not be easily determined and would complicate the calculations here.

This is my core area, so I should know...

dekdek:
It was very foolish of APC to have disown a document that was brandished from them/supporters/or whatever during the elections. I understand that this may not have been Buhari's opinion but these documents weren't rejected during the elections, why now? What would it have taken them to apologise to Nigerians for the delay in implementation and attributing to the mis-governance and thievery of past government headed by jonah-daft. All sane minds knows that jonah-daft destroyed this country and it will take far more time than earlier envisaged to stabilize things which is the obvious truth. Again, APC as a party goof on this.
However, am pleased with the Generals performance so far.
Also, I need to point out here that the op and his co fools weren't interested in what the General was saying during the elections, they were busy either looking for his certificates or watching propaganda video prepared by AIT. These fools are now in the forefront of looking for Buhari's past speeches. grin
your words were blunt and harsh, but you basically spoke the truth.
HealthRe: Plastic Bottles Are Slowly Killing You!! by shinebabe(op): 9:01pm On Jul 21, 2015
RichardUwaifo:
To all Nairalanders,
I wish to say that after reading the article by the poster above, I was indeed forced to register on this website and make an important contribution to what the poster has written.

For some time now, I and my partners have been drawing a lot of awareness to the dangers of these sachet water people drink everyday and also the bottled water as well. In some cases when you happen to visit some of these factories were water is assumed to be treated, packaged and distributed, you can only but wonder how God helps us so much with all sort of things that enters our stomach.

One the contrary, most of these water factories use just a simple water purification process with equipments that are available to purchase any were in Nigeria because there are dealers all around. All you need is a borehole, overhead tank, water treatment plant including filters and your plumbing system.
We have been introducing this system to various private homes, hotels, hospitals and lots more.
Having this full water treatment system in your own home will not only safe you lots of money you spend buying water from these water factories, you will also the rest assured of your own safety because all you have to is change the filters at least every month.

With this system, you can avoid the excessive use of these plastics and sachets by getting your clean treated water straight from your tap and storing water in some nice jugs in your fridge to keep it chilled and fresh.

For more information on how to get you own water treatment system in your private homes call today on +234-810-173-6162 or email: richard_uwaifo(@)yahoo.co.uk
I think the bolded is what is required as one of the options to averting the dangers associated with such plastic bottles regardless of the mode of water treatment. Especially if the jug or any other such container is not made of plastic.
HealthPlastic Bottles Are Slowly Killing You!! by shinebabe(op): 9:29pm On Jul 20, 2015
Around two million plastic bottles are bought
every five minutes all over the world. One million
plastic cups are used in airline flights in the
United States every six hours. With these
numbers, it is without question that plastic is the
most consumed product in the world. However,
new research shows that plastics are slowly
killing people without them knowing.
For many years, there has been this belief that
bottled water is better than tap water because of
the vitamins it contains. However, it is actually
just tap water that is put in a bottle, making it
an environmentally unfriendly hydration source.
Aside from this, plastic bottles are actually
dangerous to humans. Before you use these
products, it is pertinent that you take a look at
the bottom of the packaging and look for a
symbol.

Symbols and Their Meaning

At the bottom of the bottle, you will find a
triangle with a number, which can be anywhere
from one to seven. With the symbol you see, you
can tell whether the plastic you hold is safe or
not.

Number 1

Known as PET or PETE, the bottle with this
number means that it should only be used once.
This is because reusing them can expose people
to a chemical substance called EPA. The plastic
could possibly emit antimony, which is a heavy
metal that can interfere with the hormones in the
body. It is also possible that the plastic is
carcinogenic.

Number 2

If you find a triangle with the number “2” in it,
the bottle is known as HDPE or HDP, which is
considered the good plastic. It is named so
because it doesn’t have as much emission as
the other types of chemicals used in the other
bottles when in contact with water.

Number 3

Also labeled as V or PVC, the number 3 in the
bottle means that it has two toxic chemicals that
can both influence the hormones in the body.
Still, PVC is the most used type of plastic
around.

Number 4

LDPE plastics have the number 4, which means
they don’t emit chemicals when used in water
bottles. However, most of them are actually
present in plastic bags.

Number 5

PP or number 5 plastics are also good types of
plastics. They are recognizable because of their
white color. Sometimes, they are transparent. PP
plastics are common in cups of yogurt and syrup
bottles.

Number 6

Although this emits STIREN, which is
carcinogenic, this plastic is used in fast food
packaging as well as in coffee cups.
Check the number on the bottle you use and be safe.

Number 7

Finally, plastics with no labels are in this
category where they are known as PC. You
should not trust plastics without labels because
they often emit BPA, which is a very harmful
chemical. Unfortunately, PC plastics are common
in containers for food, sports drink bottles, and
worse, infant bottles.
If your bottle has 2, 4, or 5, you shouldn’t really
worry. However, if it is labeled, 1, 3, 6, or 7, you
are exposing yourself to the dangerous
chemicals that these plastics emit.

MsZeezah:
Bolded. The American software could not have done that. It was the person that wrote the list. Yeah, Americans write in the format of First Name...Middle Name...Last Name, but in any situation that warrants writing in that format above, then the Last Name or Surname (in Nigeria) is written first, (Usually in Block letters and with a comma) then First Name and Middle Name after that.
True.

The reason why I said American software is because most of the data are collected using software and the scholarship recipients only fill what spaces are provided for their names; the software does the rest. Maybe its a faulty software though cos softwares are written by humans too and can have errors.
EducationRe: Pressid 2015/2016 List Of Successful Candidates by shinebabe(f): 12:39pm On Apr 24, 2015
Mayflowa:
You are correct Shinebabe but this list is not so. I don't know why NUC has to go with first name first. Anyway, there isn't quality standard on organisation's order of names.
Honestly, I'm not even against going for first name first. That can be attributed to the use of American based software or that those who compiled the names don't know the rules about proper format.

But what I wanted to point our is the use of the comma after a name. Usually the name that precedes such is the surname. If they put all the names there without any comma, then I can accept they are using the american format, which isn't the internationally accepted format too.

@omonnakoda, I realised that all the names had the surnames last. In that wise, you may have a point. However, the list isn't properly arranged is my point and that can be misleading. To foreigners for instance, how will they know the surname? You could pick out the surname cos you're Nigerian.

omonnakoda:
What rubbish!
And that format applies only to SCHOLASTICA and not the other names on the list. Did the programme start this year?
Do you think you are talking to your villagers. Please shut up and go and sit down.
I wasn't stating my observations based on the component of the name as against others, I only responded to someone who said the person must be Yoruba and of Igbo mom. The name as written in the lost suggests differently at least according to the standard format of arranging names.

You don't need to get angry over what you don't know about. Also, pls learn to read and understand the context of ones argument before putting forth emotional put downs.

I'm done with this as I've made my observation known and anyone can easily see the point I'm making. You won't get a reply after this..

Lagos was MADE the capital of the whole nation, a title I had long lost to abuja. Also for your info, not the while of Lagos was FCT.

I think the federal part started from fadeyi along ikorodu road , through Yaba to the island. Anything before Fadeyi was the property of the Western Regional Government. Even lekki are was never under the Federal Capital Territory then...

Not just Nigerian movies. Any movie Dat is a novel adaptation is usually very crappy. Read Harry Porter, Twilight, The divergent, 50 shades of Grey, any novel adaptation at all. You would stick to just the books. They are not very detailed. Not telling the whole story. If u want d full drama, I advice you stick to the books. They are usually the best. That's what I do.

I didnt go to Ife but I think it is a great school, if it were well maintained it would easily be ranked with big universities in SA or Europe. The kind of infrastructure there can NO LONGER BE BUILT BY ANY OTHER SCHOOL INCLUDING THEM AS AT TODAY! And that those things were built in the '70s shows how really great that school was. But as at today the maintenance is horrible. It was in Ife PG hostel toilet that I saw shit piled about 1 meter tall for the first time in my life (that was 1995 anyway, not sure of today), other horrible hostels were Angola (this one is like Somalia), Moremi, etc. But yet, I have never seen infrastructure like that.
They are currently building the new Senate building. it has a good architectural feel. Up to the old standard I if you ask me.

I think you should be more concerned with getting the national assembly to pass a bill against bigoted speech than piracy
Your logic is saddening.

Are you advocating for piracy? Are you saying a man who steals from another man's sweat is OK since he worked hard at stealing, or that he had to feed his family?

Are you saying when wrong things happen they should be accepted because those things happen in other places?

Are you also of the view that stealing isn't corruption? That the victim should "get over it" since there are other bigger victims of theft whose goods are gotten free by others ( as if it makes any difference to the owner's fortunes if their property was pirated for profit or shared for free)?

You need a deep introspect of you moral core.
