She's not been eating for some weeks, holds food in her mouth like forever and when she finally swallows it - she will refuse to open her mouth for another feed. the thing don tire me

No slap am o a beg, lol. Was it thick? Don't feel frustrated sis, those sweeties' cn be funny. U can try again with just little feed, den u cn gradually increase it.
About not eating, my baby does dt too at times but he eats well at the creche, ppl said it's cos he knows he's with his mother

Apple, pear, plum, avocado, banana.
For apple,pear and plum, peel, remove seed , cut into small pieces and steam (little water in a pan and reduce heat) till soft. U can mash or puree.
Banana and avocado doesn't need to be cooked. Just peel banana, cut and mash/puree.
*Slice avocado from side to side, remove d seed and scoop out d flesh, mash/puree

Instead of white potato y not use sweet potato, it's more nutritious

I have pasted one below that i intend to try out but i have issues with the boldened part. Dont know how it will be preserved after adding formula. Mama's that know better, please put me through. Thank you.

How to make Potato Puree:
Ingredients:
Potato - 1 medium size (fresh & white variety)
Formula Milk Powder - 1 scoop ( I use lactogen )
Water - 3 to 4 tblspn + for boiling potatoes

Method:
Take a firm, fresh, white potato. Peel it and cube them. Wash it well in cold water.

Add it to a sauce pan, cover it with clean water. Put it on stove and bring it to boil.

Simmer the flame and cook till the potatoes are tender. This will take around 15 mins.

Now drain it and put it in a bowl. Mash it up in a mortar or blender.

Now to make the puree creamy, make some formula milk. Dissolve some formula milk powder which you are using for your baby in some warm water. Pour this over the mashed potato and mash it more to make it creamy.

Transfer this to a bowl and feed your baby with a spoon.

I only add formula to the one he's eating soon. If u r freezing u can always add formula prior to feeding

Ori can sometimes do more damage than good. My son reacted TERRIBLY to Ori. It worsened his already existing rash. You should look into stopping the ori for now.

Sis u r so on point. My baby's bum is darker than the rest of his body and it's the only place I rub ori. He also have rashes when rubbed on him

You'll get at shoprite or if u stay close to where there's justrite, they also have the non salted oldenburger i still bought on monday.

Am in same boat as u, cos thr butter must be salt-less . Am yet to come across one that has no salt o. Just told my sis ds morning to get me some from UK. Incase you come across one in naija pls lemme know

Tombrown does not require sieving. U just need to grind very well, more Dan 5x till its really smooth.

Can I use a blender for the soybean?

yes dear, i make little. and i prepare it like pap but cook it a little longer.

It won't get spoilt. just put it in an airtight container. Prepare it like u do quakeroat, ie dissolve well in water and bring to boil while stirring continuously.

Pls at that age, ur baby shd get half tablet (10mg) once per day for 10-14 days. Only babies 6m+ can take the full tablet per day.
I used it too and it worked.

Thanks Nita2013 and kaffy4bill on your experience with tommy tippee teat. Each time i use it for my 3months old son, he keeps pushing it out or is it me that can't use it? Or is it that its too soft/hard for him? Maybe i should try the momma feeding bottle. Please how much does it go for? Thanks.

Tomme tippe is silicone teat and it's soft enough, as Nita2013 rightly pointed out it caves in during feeding cos its soft.....so imagine smt softer dn that.
Has ur baby bn using a bottle before? Or are you just introducing it?

I don't really measure the cereal per say because i know the quantity he eats but before he stopped taking bottle, he finishes 210ml - 240ml (7-8 scoops) per feed so i just use the quantity he use to drink to make his cereal. But here is a picture of his feeding plate and its normally almost full per meal.

Ok,he woke up twice last night to suck.however,he has been crying cos he doesn't want to the formular.I ve tried both cup and bottle. He managed to take only 30mls around 1pm with serious cry (as I didn't breastfeed him), then I breastfed him after. Pls,mamas that ve gone tru this,do I change d formular(sma advance)

Dunno if it has anything to do with d milk but my baby rejected bottle, cup and spoon initially too, but gradually he collected it

Hi dear, I guess that should be enough since u still breastfeed and i guess he sucks well. As regards d formula with cereal, it depends on the quantity he eats. My son has very large apetite. He eats every 3:30mins - 4hrs thus eats 4 times daily cos he sleeps through the night. at every cereal meal i use 8-9 scoops of milk but its Aptamil formula which has very small spoon.

I use aptamil too. That 8-9 scoops is to how much of cereal pls. My baby eats around 180-210ml of cereal. Tot d milk will be too much

The orange juice will not suffice. He needs to drink water by all means. Try sipping cups, bottles, spoons or directly from a cup. My son prefers to drink water from the cup like an adult. Some babies prefer spoon . He just has to drink a lot of water once he starts solids.

I asked my daughter's paed same question and she said as long as my baby sucks well from 4pm, through the night and in the morning - she is getting enough milk. But if am not still ok with that, i should schedule her meal time when she's not with me like this: cereal and formula, formula alone, cereal and formula, formula alone and it should be rotated like that till pick up.

Dats an idea, just that am stucked, my baby has rejected bottle, ill c if d nanny can spoon feed him formula

Hello mamas,my six month old plus that i just introduced solids to passes hard stool and he may even go like 3-4days b4 straining and passing the stool. I make sure i give him fresh orange juice mixed with water or mashed bananas every afternoon but he is still constipated. The foods i just introduced to him are pap,boiled egg,fish,mashed potatoes. I also give him water to drink though he doesnt like drinking water but i thought the orange should suffice. What else can i do to help him soften the stools? Thanks

Sis pls stop d banana asap. I was introduced to a diet when my baby was stooling (BRAT) its banana,rice,apple sauce and toast(bread). Its meant to firm up d poop which it did. If a baby is constipated those 4 food will only aggravate d situation.
Give him more water (but don't go overboard with the water pls) and breastmilk, he'll poop, prune juice is great too.

Uwc dear. It actually depends on u. I think from 6months a baby needs minimum of 600ml milk daily. So even if u start start solid u should give milk inbetween.

My son stopped taking milk from bottle at 6months so I make sure 90% of his cereal needs addition of milk.

Also are u still breastfeeding?

I give my baby 3-4 scoops of formula to his cereal at every feed. He eats 2-3 times before I pick him up by 4, from dt 4pm till 7am that I drop him off the following day he's on breastmilk alone.
Is he well covered or Do I need to give him extra formula?

Please could you share how you found which clothes are made of better quality at PEP? I've gone there once and it seemed like everything was rather flimsy.

D variety of clothing u see depends on the PEP store u go to. But the fact still remains that the products are substandard even the shoes.
Now this doesn't mean u cant use it for long, its all in how frequently its worn n wash.
