FOOTBALLI have a crush on Asisat Oshoala – Victor Osimhen

The 21-year-old who has scored 17 goals in 35 games for Lille this season following a difficult spell in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg said he likes Oshoala for three reasons.

“My crush will be Asisat Oshoala. First, she plays very well. Secondly, she dresses very well and thirdly, she has her money”.

Asisat is a 25 year old is a top player in Nigeria’s Women’s Super Falcons team who has won the CAF African Footballer of the year a record four times.

Their problems started before the sanctions were imposed.

And the sanctions were not imposed on its oil exports as was the case with Iran for example where the US and the European Union forbade Iran from selling a huge percentage of its oil on the international crude oil market.

Most of the US sanctions against Venezuela are in the form of travel restrictions against members of the Nicholas Maduro administration. They can no longer travel on vacation abroad with their wives and mistresses and they can't send their children to posh American schools or treat themselves in American hospitals when they get sick.

FoolishBoy419:
Everything you said is valid except for the example you made with Venezuela. The country is in tatters mostly because of America's bullying and the undue sanctions placed on its economy.
IslamRe: What To Do If You Eat In Any Dream by ShoeGetSize: 10:21am On Dec 29, 2023
This has got to be a joke. In what sense can food eaten in a dream be described as a "bonus"?

It has no nutritional or health benefits because it is not real food. There's nothing mystical or supernatural about dreams. A dream is simply how your subconscious mind expresses itself when you are in a state of deep sleep known as Rapid Eye Movement (R.E.M)

That's why it is a frankly stupid idea to suggest that one can control what goes on in a dream state. You have no control over your dreams because when you are in a state of deep sleep, your conscious mind has been de-activated and your subconscious is fully in charge.

This is basic psychology, but for some reason I don't understand, Nairaland allows this part of the forum to push primitive and discredited nonsense at the expense of sound science.

Rashduct4luv:
Assalamu alaikum,

What is prescribed in Islam is to constantly remember our morning ,evening and before sleeping supplications and this would protect us as Allah wills!

Any food eaten in a dream is a bonus!
If the food has alcohol or pork, please don't eat it as it is haram.
If it comes with meat do eat it and if possible you can ask for another plate.
Also if Juice or other drinks are available to wash it down, do enjoy yourself!

There's nothing spiritual about this food!

And when you wake up (in the morning) remember your morning du'a!

Normally Before we eat, we should recite:

بِسْمِ اللهِ‎

Bismillah

In the Name of Allah.

However, in case of forgetting to recite the Bismillah and we are already halfway eating our meal, we may recite:

بِسمِ اللهِ أَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَه‏ُ

Bismillahi awwalahu wa akhirahu

In the Name of Allah at the beginning and at the end.

This is based on the hadith of the Prophet s.a.w:

When any of you wants to eat, he should mention the Name of Allah (Bismillah) in the beginning. If he forgets to do it in the beginning, he should say (I begin with the Name of Allah at the beginning and at the end)."
(Sunan Abi Dawud)

Dua After Eating
Among the practices of the Prophet s.a.w. is praising Allah s.w.t. for the food after eating. The Messenger of Allah s.a.w. said,

"He who has taken food and says at the end: (All praise is due to Allah Who has given me food to eat and provided it without any endeavour on my part or any power), all his past sins will be forgiven."

“All praise is due to Allah Who has given me food to eat and provided it without any endeavour on my part or any power.”
(Sunan At-Tirmizi)

Innoson just assembles fabricated parts that are moulded in China and shipped to Nigeria. He will eventually go bankrupt if he confines his productivity to a desperately poor country like Nigeria. There's a lot you don't understand about the car industry and perhaps the most important one is that it is very hard to sustain a successful automobile company. They have a very high turnover of failure. That's why people like Elon Musk are so remarkable because he has managed to come from nowhere and made Tesla compete with the biggest car companies in the world.
Unless Innoson starts shifting massive sales units for his cars outside Nigeria, his company won't last and whatever value he adds to Nigeria's economy will have a meaningless impact.

Quintessence44:
I personally do not want to see foreign car manufacturers in Nigeria. I want to see NIGERIAN manufacturers of vehicles setting up and competing with INNOSON.
Nigeria is a dollar reserve country (like most countries in the world). For this reason, the strength of Nigeria's currency is significantly enhanced when its dollar reserves are boosted and the only two ways that can be achieved is by: 1. Either successfully competing with the advanced economies of the world; or 2. Attracting foreign direct investment.
Nigeria has NEVER in its history been able to compete successfully with the likes of Japan, United States, European Union, China etc.

The only way Nigeria can boost the value of the Naira and attract foreign currency at the present time in her history is going to be by attracting foreign investment.

I actually see this as a plus, as it creates greater room for Nigerian entrepreneurship to flourish and blossom.

You need to get rid of your dependency syndrome.
Firstly, it is kind of **** for a country of Nigeria's size to brag about becoming Africa's Number one producer of refined petroleum products and I'll tell you why I say this.

At this stage of its existence, a country like Nigeria with its behemoth population and undoubted human and economic potentials, should at least be competing on the level of the likes of Russia, Brazil, China, Indonesia, India etc which are all developing nations with populations of 200 million or more people.

Claiming bragging rights over tiny economic hubs like Togo and Benin Republic and dysfunctional failed states like the Congo Democratic Republic, Sudan, Ethiopia etc, is not as impressive a flex as you think it is.

That was why I brought up Venezuela because it seems that Nigerians are investing too much hope and confidence in an oil economic sector which is doomed and whose fate has already been sealed, and if you don't know what I'm talking about, then perhaps you didn't pay attention to what actually happened at the recent COP28 global conference on climate change and the environment.

If the policies goals of that conference are eventually implemented within the next 20 years, Nigerians will be clutching buckets of oil and looking for buyers while they watch their children starve to death.
PoliticsRe: Do Not JAPA Before Dangote Refinery Starts. You Might Regret by ShoeGetSize: 4:27am On Dec 29, 2023
The sheer stupidity of this post is a prime example of how shallow and empty the brain of an average Nigerian is.

The strength of a Nation's currency is dependent on its trade balance (i.e whether it is a net exporter or a net importer)

If a country has a trade imbalance with other countries whose economies are based on strong industrialisation and large priductions of goods and services which dominate exports to other countries, then that country will have a very weak currency and that is exactly what Nigeria's problem is.

For a country with a population of 200 million, Nigeria is grossly under-industrialised. How many of the major car companies in the world have assembly plants in Nigeria? The answer is zero. At best they will have one or two show rooms in places like Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt or Kano (which is the case with Toyota and Honda in Nigeria), but that is as far as they are willing to go with investment in Nigeria.

Most global brands, with the exception of oil companies (for obvious reasons) tend to avoid Nigeria.

The only foreign companies that invest in Nigeria tend to be either new companies that are trying to make a name for themselves, or Chinese, Indian and Paki companies who don't care about things like Nigeria's corruption because they are used to it in their home countries.

Dangote's refinery won't change anything. Venezuela is one of the biggest oil producing countries in the world, and it has the biggest oil reserves in the world. Their reserves are bigger than those of Russia, Saudi Arabia, United States, Iran etc. The price of a litre of petrol in Venezuela is about N17 per litre, but their economy is in tatters and on the verge of collapse.

Cheap petroleum has never been a substitute for sound economic policies. Yes, it makes the cost of transportation more affordable for the populace, but the overall net impact is not going to be as miraculous as you think. What makes a country develop rapidly and have a strong currency is industrialisation. That's how Japan did it, despite not having a drop of oil in their country, that's how the Chinese have done it, that's how the Indians are doing it etc.

If Nigeria doesn’t start industrialisation on a massive scale, nothing is going to stop it from becoming even more wretched than it already is.

Nigeria is already the next Venezuela in the making.

Quintessence44:
If you are planning to JAPA, my advice as an economist and oil industry analyst is that you WAIT.

Give it at least a YEAR from today before making the final decision.

The Dangote refinery is a game-changer.

Nigeria becomes self-sufficient in refined petroleum products, and a net exporter of same, bar none in Africa.

That’s a huge deal.

A great many businesses will be established in the months and years ahead based on our self sufficiency in petroleum products.

Millions of new jobs will be created.

In fact one foreign report states that the establishment of the 20 billion dollar Dangote refinery in Lagos officially makes Nigeria an industrialised nation.

In addition, Nigeria will stop importing diesel, petroleum products, fertiliser and petrochemicals.

“That is saving over $26 billion in foreign exchange” per annum, according to official sources.

In addition to all this, the Dangote refinery will generate 12,000 megawatts of electricity.

You can imagine the impact this will have on the economy going forward.

To JAPA right when the nation is on the cusp of economic and industrial transformation is in my view, ill-advised.

Hence I urge a one-year moratorium on all JAPA - related activities.

Happy New Year all, and God bless Nigeria.

She is clearly related to the Alakija family by marriage to a male member of the family. So why are you digitally manipulating your blood pressure over someone else's right to defend her family’s reputation from being dragged through the mud?

1. She is not a member of the Folorunsho Alakija family.

2. And how is she folorunsho Alakija's grandaughter when she has been married to one Alakija for over 31 years? You still haven't answered that question.

PoliticsRe: Yoruba Ronu! See Why Alakija Is Trending by ShoeGetSize: 9:02am On Dec 28, 2023
Again, you're either being deliberately dense or you have developed a lot of social anxiety over this issue.
The original Alakija was a full blooded Yoruba, but in the intervening several generations between his existence and the present time, his descendants have become mixed with bloodlines from several different ethnicities.
I'm sure you know that their eldest son married a Persian woman from Iran in the Middle East, so he has even brought foreign blood into their lineage!

So wether you like it or not, it is your blood that speaks for you, not your name.

Putindbutt:
who told you Alakija are not full blooded? better stop reading trash on twitter. Alakija is a very large family and have married into different tribes but the progenitor of the family is Yoruba true and true.
PoliticsRe: Yoruba Ronu! See Why Alakija Is Trending by ShoeGetSize: 8:56am On Dec 28, 2023

PoliticsRe: Yoruba Ronu! See Why Alakija Is Trending by ShoeGetSize: 7:16am On Dec 28, 2023
This actually doesn't make any sense. The name is just a label. It is only we human beings who invest names with value. In the real sense of it, it is your blood that carries more value than your name.
Herbert Macauley, Rotimi Williams, Bode Thomas were all full blooded Yoruba men in spite of their European last names.
On the other hand, the Alakijas are telling us that in spite of the fact that they have a Yoruba name, they themselves are not full blooded Yorubas.

FreeStuffsNG:
Smh. Please tell us what Alakija means in other languages that are not Yoruba? Social media and nonsense.

Thanks for the feedback. From what I can observe, the original photo was indeed taken with a smart phone camera, so double exposure can be ruled out. Double exposure is only possible in photography which is produced in cameras that use film.
All smart phone cameras are digital cameras, so this image cannot be an issue of double exposure.

The question is, does that make it paranormal?

Personally, I think your friend is very clever. She took nice picture for social media which highlights her best "attributes"😏, but because competition for likes and clicks is really fierce, she added a feature to the picture which will make it go viral and stand out from the pictures of other slay queens on social media.

Like I said, brilliant from the perspective of self promotion, but nothing supernatural or paranormal about it.
